View from hot tub on balcony of our room.

This place is amazing. Super sweet and welcoming family owned. Set up the suite for my husbands birthday and had everything ready when we arrived. Rooms are clean and newly renovated. The upstairs suites have hot tubs with spectacular views. Beds are super comfortable. We will be back soon.

Out room view, this is as good as it gets.

Wasn't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. Older quaint little place. The lodge had everything we needed. Fridge, microwave bar and grill with good food. Directly across the street was ocean cove campgrounds. We spent part of the day there. It was so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed eating lunch and having a few beers. While we were blessed to have and enjoy such a beautiful view. While back at our room we had an amazing view as well. The staff was super friendly. Oh and they are pet friendly. It's a must for all to experience.

We had an amazing stay here! Owner Tim and staff are super friendly. Economy room 119$ a night. Be warned, room is very small. Ideal for a couples romantic weekend getaway. Double bed, no fridge or microwave (no problem for us). Meticulously maintained grounds. We are super appreciative to be able to stay over here for that price. Food was excellent both times ..hot and tasty fish and chips. Allowed me to add grilled chicken to garden salad no problem. We will be back for sure! Sunsets were priceless.

Sit at the bar, eat your clam chowder, hear the ocean and stare at the ocean. The view is better than Timber Cove from the inside at least. Try the burger and or the ribs. The room is clean, comfortable, and quiet. The shower has nice blue tile and thankfully no tub like Ft. Ross Lodge. At 7:00 am, Tim the manager sets out the coffee. Sit down, drink some coffee and hear all the great stories Tim has from living out here for many years. Ft. Ross Lodge ad Timber Cove have changed management too many times to count. But Tim is is the rock that doesn't move. Then drive 5 min to Stump Beach and walk out the point to feel the ocean spray on you.

Spent one night here for my friend's birthday. We arrived just after sunset, and had an amazing view from the bar where we celebrated a bit and ordered some food. Clam chowder here is GOOD. It is a bar and grill though so don't expect fancy. The waitress brought out a brownie with a candle for our friend's bday - how nice! Then we headed to the room. They let us take our wine glasses with us. There were 4 of us girls and a dog; the room had 2 beds and it was pretty small, but it worked out for us. Everything is pretty outdated, but it was clean enough. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and the fridge made noise all night. Overall it was a nice stay, in my opinion just a bit pricey for what it is.

The service was awesome, our server Evan quickly got us to our seats and took our orders. We tried the oyster epiphany (fresh oyster with lime ginger and wasabi dressing) I wasn't a big fan of oysters due to its fishy after taste. But this place nailed it! The sauce really paired well, oysters were soo fresh I could go for another round. We also ordered homemade sourdough as starters, the whipped butter was very light , not too overwhelming. The sourdough was soft and the poppy seeds add texture to it. The pairing works so well, we asked for another refill. Now to the main course, the fish tacos were on point, not very memorable to be honest. But the pasta!!! omg you could tell it was hand made, the shrimp were fresh and cleaned it wasn't fishy at all. I was expecting it to be a tomato based pasta, but the sun dried tomato gave such a nice additional profile, sweet and sourness to the truffle based pasta sauce. Last but not least, let's talk about the view! It is not everyday you got to see the end of the river and the start of Pacific Ocean. it was such a stunning view. Overall it is a 5/5 experience!

Our first visit the cabins were a bit too "rustic" for our liking, and we were grateful to only there for one evening. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was TINY, and the window would not shut due to the lean of the cabin. We enjoyed the fresh air throughout the evening, and had plenty of blankets to keep warm. The view of the Ocean and mouth of the River was amazingly beautiful to watch the sunset and we have views from our room and the restaurant. The restaurant was amazing, and what really made the experience next level. I can't remember what we ate, but I have longed to go back remembering it was delicious. We did stay the second time in their Oceana room in the home collection which was much more our style. There were no issues with the windows or doors, there was a private hot tub, and the deck was much more spacious. We had a kitchen to cook in, including a full size refrigerator and oven. Since our last stay the common beach area had been hit by a rough storm and had changed the landscape significantly. It was a reminder that Mother Nature can change things in an instant, and never take it for granted. Having the private space of the home collection made this less of a hit on our experience since we didn't need to use it. The restaurant delivered again with an amazing meal, beet salad, filet mignon, and bread service. I look forward to our next trip and plan to bring my parents out and spend some quality time together, listening to music, playing games, watching the ocean, and eating amazing food. This time I will attempt to take more photos, and update my review.

We arrived a little early which the owner said was fine (they live onsite) but they were out to lunch upon checkin. They told us our room number and the door was unlocked. It had a nice deck with umbrella, but the weather was cold and foggy so we didn't use it. Room was nice but a bit dark and we could hear every word the upstairs guests were saying, so recommend staying on top units, even though you'll need to walk around in the summer to the river. The unit had a fridge, microwave, small stove, sitting area with tv, and small bathroom. It was a bit cold as the fake fireplace didn't work, but the AC / heater in wall unit did work. We couldn't sleep with it on because it was quite noisy. The Inn is in a pretty location right on the river but they have tons of weddings in the summer so it might be overrun with wedding guests and the ceremony / reception if you go (be sure to ask about it). They have a nice gazebo with coffee and ice and an outdoor fire pit which we didn't use. It's right in the town of Monte Rio which has a grocery store, coffee shop, movie theater in town. Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room.
