Bob's is the GOAT. I requested them via Geico app and strangely enough I got superior service. I get where the bad reviews come from but it's only a matter of location. I needed a tow and these guys came They came before the ETA. Who knew. I have seen Bob's towing before, and they seem to have a good reputation in Santa Clara County. I want to really commend Brian for saving me. I must declare he is probably one of the coolest tow truck drivers I have ever met. He is very friendly and always willing to talk with people he works with. Has a good customer service approach that no tow company actually has. I was lucky to have the driver, Oscar Lujan of Bobs Towing assigned from Geico. When you need a tow, it's never fun. Oscar showed up with a pleasant demeanor and was great to work with during the stress. My car was dead in the carport, so it needed to be pushed out backwards & turned straight to be able to be crank lifted on the ramp and onto the truck. I was in the car, in Neutral, while he pushed it out of the port backwards. Since it was dead, no power steering for the Lexus SUV!~ He was reaching in the car window pulling the wheel to turn it, & I was in the car pushing the wheel so it would turn. It was teamwork, and worked well. I was so nervous going backwards and not controlling the SUV, I kept tapping the break- and he kept saying, off the break, off the break... I was laughing and was shaking my head. When he delivered the car to the Lexus repair center, he sent a text message showing that it was delivered. Poor customer service and follow up. I have Geico Insurance and had a dead battery. Through roadside assistance they sent out Bobs Towing to come and replace the battery. I paid $250 for a new battery. Four weeks later it was dead. I had someone come out and jump it (different tow company) and they said it was a faulty battery. I contacted Bobs towing. They said it wasn't the battery and couldn't tell me what the warranty was and said I would have to bring it in (With a non-operable car? Hello, I wouldn't be coming in if the battery worked lol). Instead I used a trickle charger but then a few weeks later the same problem. Used a trickle charger and got through the holidays. I called multiple times and they finally came out today. It was the owner who first said it was my car's electrical issue but after running tests with a new battery said in fact it WAS a defective battery. He replaced it. Yay for me right? Not so fast. When I asked about a warranty he said it was from the original install date of the faulty battery--4 months ago. Umm what? He said that's the way warranties work. (In what world?) He said I'd never called until this week anyway. I refuted that and offered to show my cellphone bill with the calls starting in November and he got mad and drove off. Filing a complaint with Geico so they know as well. Don't use this company. It shouldn't be that hard to have someone stand behind their work and service a warranty for a battery SMH read more

I recently experienced a flat tire on the side of the highway at night time. Using the Geico app, I requested a tow, pinpointing my location on the map. The wait time for the tow truck was approximately one hour. During this time, I had to arrange a ride back home, retrieve my second vehicle to ensure my wife, my toddler and newborn kids could return home safely, and then further wait for the tow truck to arrive. I actually had an okay experience with the wait time and the towing itself. But, I had the most life-draining human interaction I have ever had with the towing company driver. Apparently, Geico picked up and send a street address that is next to the highway spot I was at. Even though this adds at most 3-5 minute drive, the tow truck driver was convinced that he was justified to be extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending due to this error. He was a peculiar individual who would abruptly cut me off and begin yelling after asking me questions without waiting for me to answer. read more

The problem was with Carvana, their warranty repair called Silver Rock, who called Allstate Towing, who called other towing companies. Horrible customer service and even worse tow truck driver. I gave them a call and asked for a tow truck, They told me that the estimated time was an hour. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes the tow truck showed up with a nasty attitude telling me that I will be getting charged a cancellation fee because his truck is not fitting inside of my apartment garage.I called back the front desk and talked to brandy but she also told me that since I didn't mention that I live in an apartment complex Ill be getting charged the cancellation fee and there is nothing they would do about it. read more

Didn't use their service but I saw their truck driver cut off 3 cars very aggressively on the freeway entrance and on the freeway itself including my wife in another car with a baby in her car. Extremely aggressive honking at cars in front of it and tailgating smaller vehicles. Reckless especially for a towing company. Not surprised they have poor ratings. read more

The part in the advertisment was not inculded in the purchase. They said "as is" as if "not there" missing part counts. They said Catalitic convertor was present. Is was missing. I did not utilize Bob's tow service and NEVER will. One of their tow truck drivers demontrates very bad road rage issues that can affect the company and business. I encounted one of the drivers this evening on 1/11/25 around 6:45pm on Saratoga Ave. He was blocking a whole lane of traffic that was next to a very busy freeway trying to go straight, just so that he can catch the left turn light. He was not in the left turn lane to turn left, he was in a straight away lane. I went around him and gave him a courtesy honk. He did not like that very much so he decided to chase after me in the company tow truck. He followed me and kept accellerating and getting close to my rear bumper. Making out he was going to hit me or run me off the road. When I pulled over to avoid him, he stopped traffic on a one lane road, pulled up next to me, and blocked me from continuing my route of travel. This individual is not safe being behind a wheel, especially for a tow truck company. I reviewed Yelp, and there are similar stories to mine that I experienced tonight. I was disappointed to see one of your drivers parking his truck in the ADA space at the Starbucks on Camden Avenue this afternoon without displaying a placard. Not only was the truck parked illegally as he went in to get his coffee but it stuck out of the space by approximately 4 feet almost blocking the exit from the shop. I did ask him if he knew he was parked illegally and all he said was "Yeah, I know.". I would understand if he were there on a service call but all he did was walk in and order coffee. read more

So we were stranded off the 17 yesterday during the rain with a flat tire. CHP was awesome by dispatching a tow for us. I was surprised when this lady hopped out the flatbed rig and started hooking up our vehicle. Her name was Reina and she was beyond professional and amazing and had no qualms about doing her job in crappy weather. So she got the job done quick and we were on our way in no time. We get home and hung out with Reina while she off loaded our vehicle. She maintained her professionalism and was very accommodating. I feel bad that she has to do this type of work in this current weather system. This towing company is fortunate to have an employee like her, any business would be fortunate to have a employee like her. Fast forward to today and we get an unexpected visit today. It's Reina! She was sent to our house on HER day OFF by her boss named Amir because supposedly the payment didn't run through. Reina was very apologetic about bothering us as we felt bad that she had to come on her day off. This was not Reinas fault so nothing against her. As for her boss Amir, sending someone on their day off is beyond unprofessional and unexcusable. It's our day off before our busy work week and were resting at home watching a movie. I'm livid at this move by this lack of character on the bosses part and will definitely be hearing from me. Reina is beyond 5 stars and this portion of the review is not a reflection on her. But the stars are based on Amirs lack of professionalism. read more

AAA refused to help even though I have been a member since 1973. Amir of Bob's Towing was prompt and efficient. The cost was not cheap but reasonable. I would you use them again. read more

I had to pay $700 for just getting the car towed to their place on day 1 around 5pm and picking it back up around 11am the next day. They charged me ~450 for towing and rest for 2 days of storage - much higher cost than I expected. Moreover, I just wanted to get the car towed back via AAA to my home and they didn't make it easy to get the car released to the AAA dispatched Towing company. They could have told me the entire process or presented the options I had up front. Instead I (and the AAA dispatch company) had to scramble to figure out how to get the car released to comply with the process Bob's Towing told in the last minute. Please be mindful of high cost of towing. For comparison, AAA provided Towing companies are much more professional and provide much better customer service. read more

This is a warning to anyone who needs to have their vehicle towed, please read my comment below and decide if you value your vehicle as much as we value ours... My wife called Bob's Towing Company at 10:30am Friday 11/22 to have her 2014 Jeep Patriot towed by flatbed from her place of employment to the nearest repair shop that was only 1 (One) mile away from her job. She was told that it would be picked up and delivered to Auto-Tec within an hour to an hour and a half so mathematically the car should have arrived by 12:00 noon. I asked the auto shop manager to call me or my wife when it arrived, but after 4 hours and no call I decided to call the shop to ask if Bob's had finally dropped the Jeep off and they said no. So then I called Bob's Towing Company to ask what was the delay, and the woman I was speaking with told me that they had tried to call my wife and I to tell us that they required someone to be at the pick up or drop off locations and if neither of us were able to be at one of the locations they would not pick it up and deliver it as requested. Both my wife and I were home with our cellphones with us but neither of us had received any calls from them, so I asked them to verify the number that they were calling and surprise it was not hers or my phone number (in fact the number they were calling wasn't even a working number in the state of California) so they didn't even bother trying to look up our numbers or email (yes they had my wife's email address). So at 2:30pm when we finally thought everything was straightened out and we were told they would have the jeep picked up and dropped off within 60 minutes or less the wife used my car and drove to Campbell to her job. By then it was 3:40pm and my wife called and told me that the car was still there and no flatbed was present! So with my blood pressure skyrocketing and my chest tight as a drum skin I made a 4th (FOURTH CALL) and was told how sorry they were and would take care of the situation ASAP. Finally the wife called to say that they had picked it up at 4:30pm (and I had made it VERY CLEAR that the auto shop was closing at 5:00pm) and at 4:50pm I decided to call the shop to see if they had dropped the car off and I was told by the manager that he had just observed the flatbed driving past the driveway to the shop and he couldn't see where the truck had gone... Well after another call to Bob's Tow Service and being put on hold for another 5 minutes the lady who was my point of contact told me in her happy voice that they just got there and they were dropping it off as we spoke. Being a brutally honest ex-NY'er I had to tell the lady who was the point of contact for me that I was very unhappy with the company's customer service and support, and that what should have been a very quick pick up and drop off had turned into one of my most stressful, unsatisfying experiences of my 45+ years of driving life. During that time I was a tow truck/flatbed driver and I am also a Class A CDL driver experienced in single, double and triple trailer operator. I did not try to get a free tow nor did I ask for one, but in my 50 years of customer service and support had something like this happened to one of my customers I would have been more empathetic to them and I would have NEVER charged them $90 for almost 7 hours of incompetence and rotten service. If I could give this company zero stars that's what I would do but Yelp's ratings system doesn't allow anything below a one star rating. read more

Wow, this is surreal. I hope I had this on video. Today I had a different issue with my car and Geico matched me with Bob's towing again. The same driver from the first time showed up and shouted at me: "I remember you. You are the one who left us a bad review on Yelp. You do not deserve our service!" And then walked away. This happened after I waited for almost 2h for this guy to show up and he drove his big truck all the way for this. Truly amazing way to run a business! I spoke with the owner on the phone to get some information . He was very rude and hung up on me. I could have gone right in and picked up my car at 7:00 which would have been within about 15 minutes of them receiving my car. I was told that it would be cheaper in the morning because it was after hours and there would be a higher gate fee. I was told it would be $395 to pick up the following morning or $420 to pick it up that night. I went in this morning and was charged $510. My car front tire blew up in the middle of the highway and I was unable to get the tire off to get it changed to a spare. My insurance's road side assistance contacted Bob's Towing to help us get our car to a repair shop. Exactly at the ETA, they contacted me to confirm the final tow location and let me know they were en route. They were polite and friendly. Ernst showed up several minutes later and immediately empathized with my situation. He offered to try to get the blown tire off himself and allowed me to wait in the tow truck's cab in the interim. He braved the rain, was able to muscle off the tire, and changed it to the spare, saving me the effort and hassle of the tow! Will definitely recommend Bob's towing! read more

Sergio was great! Friendly and knowledgeable. Service was booked thru allstate roadside. It did take a little bit longer than the original quoted time, but they updated me saying there was a delay. I had a different tow company not show up yesterday and another one that was gonna be 2hours later than the 2 hours I already waited and they didn't update me. From my understanding there's a shortage of drivers, so the fact that Sergio was kind and super efficient I feel very lucky. Definitely felt safe with my car on his tow. read more

I have neve seen a ruder person. Asked us to move our car when we were in the middle of pumping gas so he could back up to a disabled car. We told him we were almost done and then he went into a rant. We are two respectful 70+ year olds and he was really belligerent. I already knew what the problem with the car was when he came, but he looked out for me and made sure I was taking the car to a trusted mechanic who wasn't trying to rip me off for something I didn't need. Late and blamed traffic for it. If I had my choice, I would have choose a different tow company but since my insurance choice this one I was 30 mins late for work. To try to keep this review professional since I'm in the heat of the moment. I never got a call back from the lady at the front desk, I had to follow up twice. If the results weren't the desired ones I would have probably given one star If they would have said hey we will be late because of the morning traffic or hey, we are running late and called us or given Allstate a realistic time we would be in good shape. I was in the area and my car broke down and I found this company and called and spoke with the owner Amir. He was very helpful and understanding of my situation that I wasn't local. He personally came out to help me and tow my car. The entire time he had great communication with me and keeping me updated on how far he was and his ETA. I would recommend him to anyone in that area and if I am ever back in town that will be my go to company if I ever need towing services. read more
