It was a crazy day! But Rich came to the rescue! Rich from Felix's company was great!! He was very friendly, respectful and fast. He knew how to take care of my car. I purchased my car 2 weeks ago and I wasn't expecting this issue with the engine. Rich arrived within 30 minutes, knew how to take care of my new ride, he was fast and very efficient. I strongly recommend this towing company, Rich was great! And very helpful. read more

Car wouldn't start this morning and my insurance company sent me Ed's Tow & Cradle to haul it in for service. Felix came out and checked that it was just a dead battery. He was informative and offered his service to replace it. So thankful that he didn't just come and tow my car to the dealership but helped find a solution for me. He went back to pick up the right battery and came back and replaced it. Highly recommend for professional and friendly service. read more

Wow! Just wow. The pricing is better than the rest. Others I had called charged double. If you happen to stumble on Ed's tow service on Yelp for your first choice of a tow estimate, you don't need to call anyone else. After my SUV was towed to a destination, they had miscalculated the estimate of the mileage driven and even lowered the final price even more. Very honest tow company. Highly recommended! read more

Ed's Tow came and rescued our Company's trailer that needed to be moved urgently. Communication was easy via phone and text. They billed on the spot and even the billing department was able to fix the company's info on the invoice and email it to our bookkeeper in no time. Excellent service, we will be using them again! read more

When driver arrived looked on my vehicle and said sorry I can't tow you . He new he can't tow me even before arrive he just wanted to collect the money from the insurance. If they assign from your insurance company make sure for ask different company !!!! read more

Reasonable quote, and arrived when they say they were going to arrive. Nice guy, straightforward and got the work the done. Can't ask for more. read more

My car had a flat with no spare, so my insurance provided me with a local tow from Ed's. The tow ended up running behind, but both the person I spoke to when calling the company and the driver were apologetic about being late. Arthur called me when he was nearby to let me know he'd be by shortly. He was quick with getting my car up and over to where we needed to go. He was able to bring me, my friend, and my dog (we were on our way out to lunch!) in the tow truck and had no issues with my pup. He was friendly and kind and was a great help during a stressful time for me! read more

The first towing experience with them is great, but they ghosted my second towing appointment. Tried to call them and it was either "be there in 1 hour" or voicemail. read more

Once again, Ed's Tow & Cradle has saved me in a pinch. After being told by my car insurance roadside assistance that I would hear from my assigned towing company in 24-48 hours, I called Ed's Tow & Cradle (after having such a positive experience with them the first time) and Andre was friendly and quick to help. He gave me an hour ETA and the tow driver Roy arrived even sooner than that! Great communication, start-to-finish. I just wish I would stop needing reasons to have my car towed, but that's neither here nor there read more

My car quit running while driving on Alma in Palo Alto. I used my State Farm app to summon help and Ed's Tow & Cradle showed up with a truck in 5 min. They were able to put it in my driveway as requested. Quick, friendly, competent. Recommended. read more

Dead car = Sadness Ed's Tow = Happiness! Yes I found myself in that painful place where "my car won't start and I have no idea what to do." I called my insurance company who then contacted Ed's Tow to come to my rescue. Mel, the driver, was awesome! He arrived promptly and even futilely tried to get my car started. Alas, he could not. But no sooner did he have my car hooked up to his truck and we were on the road down to my auto shop. Even after we dropped my car off at the shop, he offered to give me a ride back to my neighborhood since it was on the way to his next tow. How nice is that? That saved me paying to ride the train back and a lot of time as well. My friends, never doubt the kindness of tow truck drivers! Thanks Ed's Tow, and especially to you Mel! read more

Whoops, I got a flat today! (Stupid bumpy metal curb on Page Mill) Luckily, Toyota provides roadside assistance and immediately sent someone to change my flat for the spare. The guy (I never got his name) who helped me was probably the younger man that other Yelper's have mentioned. He was extremely friendly and professional. He could tell that I was pretty distressed, but he kept the conversation lighthearted and told me that it wasn't a huge deal. He gave me the straight story that my tire wouldn't be easily repaired so I would need to get a new tire, then explained that the place where I had bumped the curb has been a pretty common site where other cars had popped tires in the same manner. All in all, it took maybe 10 minutes to change to the spare, and I actually felt a lot better after the whole thing because of the driver's level of professionalism. I highly recommend Ed's Tow & Cradle if you need a tire changed or a tow. read more

Thank goodness these guys were around in my time of need. Tire got messed up and I didn't have a spare. Got stuck in the middle of nowhere in EPA. Ugh. Guy (whose name I forgot and wasn't on the business card :( ) arrives 20 minutes earlier than scheduled, recs a great shop, gives me a lift home even though that was above and beyond the call of duty, and we even talk shop about AI, machine learning, quantum physics, and music. Good ol' Silicon Valley. These guys are awesome -- hopefully you don't need to use 'em, but if you do find yourself in need, these guys got your back. read more

Rich was very kind and helpful and kindly dropped me off to my repair destination. They had the proper equipment to care for all drive types. It took about an hour to get my car taken care of. Call them directly for your questions. read more

Don was the bomb. Give this man a raise! I don't have much to say as my interaction with him was quick, because he works so fast! He was super communicative, calm, polite & overall extremely professional. My engine overheated and he picked it up to tow it to the shop. My car arrived within minutes. read more

Today for my first time need a tow service. My dealer contacts Ed's Tow & Cradle to serve me. Richard Saylor, the driver is surely professional, extremely efficient. Thanks, for your services! read more

Had a flat tire I tried to change myself -- but the jack collapsed as I was pulling off the flat. At that point, I called AAA -- which was about 90 minutes out. Rich from Ed's Tow & Cradle happened to be driving by while I was waiting for AAA -- and stopped and offered to fix it on the spot. 5 minutes later the spare was on and I was on my way. Awesome service! read more

There's an extremely rude man who works for this company. He sent me a photo of my vehicle in a random lot via text. I replied to the text asking him what the purpose of the photo was since its just a photo of my vehicle. Response: "It means it was dropped off where we were told" My reply, "Can you confirm the location and date/time of the drop-off?" No response. He calls me, yells at me, says most people are happy with getting the photo but it sounds like you are not. Stop harassing me. Excuse me? You called me. I would like to give you feedback that receiving a photo with no information is not useful. I asked for his name and he refused to give it. I really hope this was not the owner of the company. If owner is reading this I'm sure you know which employee this is. read more

Stuck in Mountain View with overheated Jimmy. Mel came to the rescue with a quick smile and lovely reassurance. Priced less then every other tow service. There are few situations that feel worse then being stuck on a warm afternoon just at rush hour. Frantic for me.... Mel, thank you so much!!! Highly recommend. read more

Ed's Towing came to my rescue twice and each time the driver was professional, honest, and helpful. The first time, I had to have my car towed from my garage to the dealer. The second time, my car would not start and I had intended to have it towed to the dealer again, but the driver said it was just the battery that needs to be replaced. He went back to the shop, got me a new battery, came back to replace the battery and now my car is back in service. Thank you so much! read more

My 5 yr old battery was low and my car wouldn't start on this very rainy day. Felix charged my battery but said that I should probably replace it. He had to go pick it up but kept me informed about when he'd be back to replace it. He was so efficient and I didn't have to leave my home for this service. It was also also less $$ than I was quoted by a local business. I was very impressed!! read more

I needed a tow and upon arriving they provided me with many alternatives options to help me out with my car. While waiting for my tow they were able to call and let me know what their ETA was and throughly explain pricing. They were very thorough explaining to me what was going on with my car and helped me get a better understanding of what was happening before taking it to a shop. This will be the only towing company I use! Thanks guys! read more

I had these guys helped me twice... My first experience was awesome the guy arrived early and was super helpful (younger guy with tattoos) The last time, I had this older guy (trashy looking, red neck like with a mullet) I have to say that guy was a complete ass! Rude and very very opinionated. Now I know where people get their bad experiences from... You guys should fire that guy. He's hurting your business. read more

I called my roadside assistance. They sent Ed's towing again. The drive said his name was Mike but I didn't think it was his real name. This guy was completely rude. Made stupid comments about things that he had no clue about. He had the nerve to insult my car for breaking down. This was there last chance. Stay away from these people. read more

OnStar hooked me up with Ed's, and I am lucky they did. I have not had any car trouble in years, and frankly had no idea what to do. It's a daunting scenario to find yourself 20 miles from home with a car that won't start, and no idea why not. I had two different drivers from Ed's. Day one, OnStar had them send a truck to charge the battery first. The guy was young, and I regret not getting his name because he was very helpful. I asked for a card, and didn't realize until later that there was no name, it was just for Ed's in general. He was only sent to help with a battery, but spent a long time trying to help me figure out what was wrong after the jump didn't work. Day two, OnStar sent them back to tow my car. The driver was different, but also a young guy. His shirt said, Joe. Joe was also very helpful, and tried several theories to get me up and running without having to tow. He ended up towing me to a shop, but I appreciated the effort. At the end of the day, with this type of service, competence is the most important thing, but it is nice to have competence with a good roadside manner, which is what my double experience was with Ed's. read more

this 5 star rating is because of Rich and Rich only. he was super professional and really helpful, answering any and all questions i had. he was really nice and got done towing my car really quickly. highly recommend him! read more

It's a pretty safe bet that if you find yourself in a situation wherein your car needs to be towed you are not having a very good day. However, a couple of calls to my insurance company and Ed's folks were on their way to rescue me. The driver arrived within the prescribed 45 minutes and had my car up on the truck and ready to go in no time. He was super friendly and really nice, younger guy, Nick was his name (maybe, I suck at remembering names). He dropped me off at my office, confirmed the address of the shop I wanted my car delivered to and off he went. This did cost me $80, my insurance covers towing up to 15 miles, my mechanic is 26 miles away from where I was so I basically paid $80 to have the car towed 11 additional miles which sucks, but it's not the end of the world, when you're stranded options are limited, at least they were nice and were very upfront about their fees. read more

Received a tow from this company today and the tow driver was very friendly and helpful. The tow I received was not a very long one but they treated me just like any other customer by providing excellent customer service. I will keep them in mind for my future towing needs! read more

Yesterday, I stopped in our company parking lot to help the tow operator of Ed's Tow. An intern of ours had a problem with his Volvo, and I helped them pushed the car out of a _steep_ parking spot. During this time, the tow operator not only did not thank me for helping, he barked at me for asking a friendly questions about what might be wrong with the car. After we helped him get the car out of the spot, he further berated me for asking too many questions about what was wrong with the car. A subsequent call to the owner of the business did not elicit an apology whatsoever. This is about the worst Towing company in the Palo Alto, Mountain View area I have ever experienced as a 10 year resident. read more

John is the best ever. I called my insurance provider for tow service and literally after finishing my phone call. John appeared in my area like its a magic trick. John is very knowledgeable, he knew my situation and he gave me some advice for the future. If ever I need a service again, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. Did I mention the process was super efficient? Thanks John!! read more

I work at Ed's for several months in 2019. I quit because they were very dishonest when they we did a tow for the Mountain View police department. Cars that were towed at the request of the police department were charged 5 times the amount to be released from impound by the customer, I.E, $2,000 +. This was just the towing fee no city fees or fines. They were hoping the customer would not pay and they could auction the car and the police would back Ed's up on the scam. read more

Unscrupulous sleazebags - I got hit in Los Altos by a driver who ran a red light - the Los Altos cop asked me if I had AAA, which I did, but the driver who arrived towed my car back to my house, but then proceeded to charge me $100 before he would release the car onto my driveway. The other driver's insurance would be paying it, but this driver and Ed's Tow and Cradle is unethical and should be charged with extortion. I bet he's friend with the dirty cops in Los Altos (this was during Tuck Younis' reign - glad he retire but I wish Tuck was prosecuted for his crimes) read more

The drivers at Ed's Towing provided courteous and quick service on two occasions where my car needed a jump and another when it had to get towed to a mechanic. They were contacted by my insurance's roadside assistance so I can't speak to prices or phone service. Both drivers were personable and professional. The drivers arrived in less time than the estimate, though that might be because I live less than a mile away. read more

Despite the unfortunate circumstances bringing me to Ed's, I had truly nothing but a positive experience. My car had been towed from a public lot (unbeknownst to me, as I thought it had been stolen) and I had to pick it up on a Sunday, spending half my paycheck just to get my car back. I called Ed's and was greeted by Tim, who could not have been more helpful. He came in on a Sunday to get my car for me and we shared a good laugh over the situation. Truly friendly and extremely helpful, the somewhat disastrous day was salvaged by the excellent customer service and help I received. Thanks Tim!! read more

There seems to be two thoughts of reviews for Ed's Tow: Good and Horrible; from what I can tell, the people who gave good reviews were serviced by the younger gentleman who was very courteous and helpful. People who gave bad reviews got the foul-mouthed, older bloke who berates customers and seemingly hates his life. Today, I believe I got the short end of the stick with the bloke - and I tell you he lives up to his notoriety. Not helpful, short tempered and just downright mean for a simple service like unlocking a car. read more

Ed's drivers have an aggressive and belligerent attitude. They yell and bellow at you and anyone else nearby. They seem to enjoy making the towing experience into a real aggravation. read more

My VW had yet another problem and I needed it to be towed. I called my insurance and they had E'd Tow and Cradle come in and help. The truck driver that arrived was extremely rude - it felt like he was inconvenienced by having to be there on a Friday night. When I tried to explain the problem to him, he would not listen, just saying he is the car guy and not me. He was yelling at me and my boyfriend and made me cry - not something that you need when your car is broken down. I hope the other truck drivers at this company are nicer than this one. This guy needs anger management classes or something. You should never yell at your customers. I have never had such horrible experiences with towing. Well, the company gets 1 star for actually towing the car to the dealership - thank god I did not have to ride to the dealership with that guy. read more

Our truck was in an accident and you guys were awesome! The hookup was quick and we were on our way fast! I had an accident a few weeks ago and lucked out by getting Tim from Ed's Tow sent over by my insurance company. He was personable fast and professional.
