Wow! I didn't know that services like this still existed. I had a blowout, and needed help to put the spare on my car. (I have a heart condition and avoid stressful physical activities.) I spent an hour calling place after place. They didn't answer the phone. They told me they had nobody available. They quoted outrageous prices. (Don't even get me started on the guy who tried to sell me a used tire for $380 - pay in advance , sight unseen.) I finally reached Russell. He said he would charge me $75 to change the tire, and he could be there in 20-40 minutes. He actually showed up in 20 minutes! He quickly changed my tired as we chatted. The spare was low on air, and he said I should go straight to a gas station and fill it. I wasn't familiar with the area, so he gave me directions, and then said, "Why don't you just follow me so I can keep an eye on you." I followed him for about a mile and a half before seeing the gas station. I expect him to just drive on, but he actually pulled in, waited for me, and proceed to add the air to my tire. Russell is a really nice, friendly guy. He gives great service, and the price is way below other tow services. read more

A Cheap Tow - Towing Near Me - San Jose, California

Russel and his father have great service and very cheap any time I have had a flat tire or need a jump or a tow they come out if it's not for a tow they have a flat fee they charge which I have never had a issue with especially when stranded on the side of the road. 24 hour service and they call back right away if they are on the phone with. Customer they send you a text letting you know acknowledge your phone call and then they send you a text with their phone number so that if you still need service they return your call as soon as possible like I said I have never had to wait more than the distance of thier residence. Which the time waited was 20 minutes depending on traffic ‼ read more

Amazing service, friendly and affordable!! Called another tow company and they wanted $400-$500 for a tow!! I hung up and found A Cheap Tow and called them up and Russel said he was downtown and to call Roy because he was closer. I called up Roy and he said he would be there in 30 min and told me their pricing. Roy came, hooked my car off and got me back home and charged me $165! Roy was very professional, helpful and cracked a few jokes. After the day from hell, I'm glad I found them and if I ever need towing again, I'm calling them first! Thank you Roy!!! read more

I called several places before coming across A Cheap Tow. Russell is professional and friendly. He provided excellent service at a reasonable price that beats most others. He accepts cash, credit or debit. I would recommend. read more

Another flat tire caused by a nail but this time, my tire was flattened completely to the ground. Usually, I can at least make it to a shop without the fear of riding on rim but it wasn't worth the risk of completely destroying my tire altogether. Did a quick search on Yelp and this shop was closest and with high ratings. I had received an estimate from another shop that was recommended but they were more expensive and unwilling to negotiate. So I went hunting. Coordinated with this shop via text, which was convenient. They were able to fit the tow truck in my parking garage. After a quick assessment of my tire, he concluded he could repair it right on the spot and for less than the amount to tow! My tire was repaired within 30 min and I was able to pay using a credit card. Saved me so much time!! Highly recommend for towing and flat tire repair on the spot. Happy to have a go-to service now. read more

Russell was very careful towing my father's dead old car out of a difficult access location. He showed up when he said he would and was great! Definitely recommend. read more

Great & fast service for our needs ... our tech has accident and we needed tow immediately.. Russell made it so easy ! Thank you

The ABSOLUTE worst service I've ever experienced. When loading up our vehicle the man kept repeating how he doesn't normally do this and would not allow us to help. Then when we got to our destination the man detached our vehicle from the wench before it was taken off the trailer. We again asked if he needed assistance and he rudely declined and wanted his "F***ing payment". Then while unloading our vehicle he LITERALLY took a shit in the parking lot and blamed us for him having to shit in the parking lot like it was our fault! read more

Left my car keys in my car seat when going for lunch and called A Cheap Tow for assistance. He got there within 30 minutes, which was great since it was a hot Sunday afternoon and I was outside. Thank you for the quick help! If I lock my keys inside my car again, A Cheap Tow will be the first person I call! read more

The best guy hands down. Don't waste your time or money else where, I waited 3 hours for AAA during a construction emergency, they were worthless, this guy pulled in within 10 minutes of my car being towed with construction trucks and parking enforcement at my neck. This man/ service is a savior, like I said, don't waste your money or time anywhere else. Plus you will not beat his prices/ timing/ communication read more

I wound up with both front tires flat and only 1 spare. Needed to be towed on a Sunday. I called a bunch of places but this was the only one that would come. With both tires flat my front end was very low and dragging and he paid particular attention to the problem and spent extra time to get it on the flatbed in good condition. I will call him first the next time I need tow. Highly recommended. read more

Super cool guy, very personable and is true to the name. Cheapest tow I found in town and everything went smoothly. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your swift and professional tow service! These guys are professional and trustworthy. Highly recommend!

It gets one star for actually towing my car, but if this review was based solely on customer service and overall experience of the transaction, this guy gets no stars. After reading the reviews, not sure who towed my car (I saw other people say when one guy was busy he referred them to another, I called Russ and his voice mail directed me to his father I think) Whoever towed my car was rude, lied to me and told me he hadn't spoken to my friend who was on her way to drop off my keys since I was out of town, when he had actually spoken to her and had arranged for her to meet him, yelled at me over the phone, used scare tactics and intimidation (telling me he was going to charge me for every minute he had to wait and was going to tow my car and keep it). All of these behaviors were completely uncalled for, harassing and traumatizing during an already stressful situation. Warning! Do not use this guy! read more

My parent's car broke down on the side of 101. Great to work with, friendly guy, great price, and a cool dog!

Rustle is awesome at his profession. I needed a some tool boxes moved from a former employer who pushed them out to the street. He came to the rescue in no time. Not only was he fast but the way he secured my expensive boxes was above and beyond. Had called other tow company's at he was less than 50% their prices. Some of the quotes I got where insane! Bonkers in fact. I will never utilize another towing company ever again. Thanks "A Cheap Tow! " read more

Russell is a life saver! I called him this morning to tow my car from my residence in SJ to Milpitas. It had a failed alternator and wouldn't start at all. He gave me a quick quote of $70 and said he would be there in a hour after he was done with another customer. An hour later, he called me to say he was on his way. He loaded my car onto his flatbed attached to his truck and we were on our way. Russell has a very friendly dog and she's quite fond of licking people. We got to the auto repair shop and he unloaded the car where it needed to be. All in all, a great experience. Don't hesitate to call Russell if you need help towing your car. His prices are reasonable too! read more

Who doesn't take cash? Apparently quite a few tow companies. But A Cheap Tow did, and didn't charge me an arm and a leg! Russell is an alright kind of guy! He arrived on time and did the job. A Cheap Tow - A Cheap Tow - Towing Near Me - San Jose, California

Acheaptow is disrespectful and inconsiderate to the disabled. When I pulled into the Santa Clara Rivermark Safeway parking lot, acheaptow was parked across all 4 disabled spaces. I asked him to move and waved my disabled placard. He didn't move until I took a photo of him and his truck. Then he moved, blocking the exit lane. When I parked and tried to get out of my car, driver came to my car and blocked my exit by hanging onto my open door. He kept saying, what are you going to do about it. I got on my phone and called 911. He moved away and I hobbled into the store. When I finished my shopping, saw the truck leaving and the police car with lights flashing had come and talked to him. The driver is a man with no respect for the disabled. Hey people, you can get AAA for less than $50 year. Don't need a cheap tow... read more

Very nice driver. Instead of just hooking it and towing, he spent maybe 30 mins troubleshooting my car. I still had to tow it, but it was appreciated nonetheless. (My fuel pump had bit it) He also asked about the timing...ie - I called around 730am and he mentioned that if I could wait till 9:30 it would be much cheaper. (I had no issue and took him up on that) Funny guy and a dog that likes to lick faces ALOT! keeping him on file. read more

Unfortunately, I locked my keys in the car, which included my house keys! I called a place that I googled and was told they would come in up to an hour and the cost was going to be $80. So I yelped and found "A Cheap Tow" Russell told me he would be there in 30 minutes. I was skeptical based on my previous experiences of 30 minutes turning into 2 hours. Mind you, I was in a work skirt and blazer locked out of my car and house, sitting on my front porch in freezing weather. Nevertheless, he showed up in exactly 30 minutes and was the nicest, polite tow truck driver I have come across. He told his corny jokes and got the car unlocked in about 5 minutes and went about his way. In this day and age people take themselves so seriously or have issues and are rude, so it was refreshing to have someone be just genuinely nice and get the job done! Russelll, my recommendation to you is raise your price $10, you'll still be less then your competitors and keep up the customer service. Best of luck with your business in 2014! A Cheap Tow definitely is a must if you need a tow or lock out service. read more

I locked my keys in the car, DAMN IT!!! Used Yelp to find A Cheap Tow. At $35 he was half the price of what others wanted. Russ and his dog came out at the promised time and charged exactly what he said he would. Fast, funny, jovial...real nice guy. Hopefully I won't need his services again but if I do he'll be the first person I call. Thanks Russ! read more

This review is long over due! Roy helped me out in January of 2016; low and behold a couple days after my birthday. I called numerous places and explained my situation. Every one of the other towing companies quotes were expensive! Roy did not just throw a quote at me. He asked details about my situation and said that it might be the battery. He then explained to me what I could do to fix it and told me to call him back if it doesn't work. I had no luck, so I called him back. He ended up coming to my location and he did not just tow my car, he checked the battery and ended up fixing it!! Thanks Roy for being honest, hilarious, and a true hard working American! read more

Seriously good guys. Called Russell, and he didn't answer but his voicemail had a number for his dad. Called him, and he was responsive and quick to get to me. 25 minutes after the call, he picked me up and towed me to the shop. He was nice and courteous. Definitely recommended, especially for the price. 55 bucks was way better than any other tow service I was looking at in this area. Added him to my phone and will definitely call back if I - heaven forbid - need a tow again. Thanks! read more

I needed a flatbed tow 75 miles up to a shop in fairfield, based on Yelp reviews i called Russell, & I'm glad i did. He called me back after I left a message, we arranged the time & place, and he arrived as promised, even called to tell me he was running ~10mins late. He did a great job of getting the car hooked up safely & without damage, & got me to fairfield safely & right on time. Great service, honest & friendly, and great rates too, way less than some other quotes i got. I'll be recommending him to anyone i know if they should ever need a tow. Thanks Russell! read more

About three years ago, I drove my car into a ditch on the way to an exam. Because I still needed to take the exam, I trusted Russell to tow my car (without me to accompany him) from San Jose to my home in Millbrae. Price was extremely reasonable and he was very nice and courteous. I highly recommend him and would refer him immediately to anyone in the San Jose area. read more

Russell is a great guy - I called him for tow this morning. He had another engagement and referred me to his father. When his father did not pickup the phone, he offered to come out himself. He kept in touch the whole time. Called me when he was 10 minutes out. He fought the rain and traffics to be there within 35 minutes. When I tried to put my car in neutral it started so I no longer needed a tow. Russell wasn't mad but gracious enough to tell me that he would follow me for a short distance to be sure that my car is trouble-free read more

I didn't actually use Russell, because he was busy, but I had called him based on all these glowing reviews.
