UNIQUE Towing made everything easy, transparent, and stress-free from start to finish. No hidden charges, no weird surprises, no drama. The way they handled our trailer, equipment, and towing setup showed they actually know what they're doing. Professional, organized, and clearly experienced -- the real deal. Meanwhile, our recent experience with The Best San Jose Towing was the complete opposite. Honestly, I'm over here ranting in another company's review because that experience was THAT bad. I was involved in a three-car collision on a freeway in San Jose. CHP dispatched this tow company to remove my vehicle from the freeway. The tow truck took over an hour to arrive. During that time, a truck matching the description drove past my location without stopping. I called the dispatch number provided by CHP, but they were unable to locate or provide an update on the assigned tow truck. Ultimately, I contacted a different tow company, which was able to respond and assist me. I called the towing company at 3:19 pm, and the representative quoted me $327 to retrieve my car. When I arrived at the location at 5:28 pm the same day, the total had jumped to $746. The following fees had been tacked on: 1. $311 gate fee (not listed anywhere on their website, on this page, or by representative) The hours on both their Yelp and Apple Maps pages are wrong. They are not 24/7; they close at 5 p.m. If you come to retrieve your car past 5 p.m., they tack on this $311 extra fee just to open the gate. Not mentioned anywhere on their website or by the representative when I called. I had wasted $97 on an Uber from SF because I was trying to avoid the $127 daily storage fee they charge (also not on their website, but was mentioned by the representative). Turns out I would have been better just waiting. 2. $61 extra storage fee (not listed anywhere on their website, on this page, or by representative). Apparently they initially charge a 4h fee (when I called) after which they charge a day fee (when I arrived). When I called, the representative did not mention any of these fees. I'm highly suspicious of the timing of it as well. My friend noticed my car being towed at 2:00 p.m. It could not have possibly been at Unique Towing for more than 4 hours by the time I arrived at 5:30 p.m. 3. $47 extra tow fee Apparently the representative had misquoted me at $327, and the actual fee was $374. Instead of honoring the quote, they decided to just bump the price. I'm disappointed with this company's lack of transparency and hope this review can help anyone else with the misfortune of having to deal with them. read more

This was my very first roadside assistance experience, and unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. I was charged $250 for a short 3-mile tow, which really caught me off guard--especially since most towing services in the area quoted around $75-$150 for under 10 miles. While I have no complaint about the driver or the service itself--they arrived within 30 minutes as promised and handled the towing professionally--the pricing felt unreasonably high. Afterward, from home I called another company to verify, and they quoted me $140 for the same distance right away. Even I said I'm just looking for a better price & she willing to lower down & talk to his driver. It's disheartening to feel taken advantage of during a stressful moment, especially when you're in a panic and just trying to get help. I hope this company reviews their pricing policy and provides more transparency so future customers don't experience the same. The girl that I talked really sketchy when she gave the price. We both recognized that there was a communication gap, particularly on the part of the dispatcher, regarding the scope and nature of the services to be rendered. This towing service is a money sucking company nothing to do with Policy 101 San Fernando Apartments in San Jose. I have an apartment there. I was parked in my parking stall with my resident hanger on my car mirror but the tow guy said he couldn't see my apartment number, so they tow my car I had to pay over $400 to get my vehicle even though my hanger was still hanging on the mirror. In fact, the guy who took me agreed with me called the manager out, showed him my car with my resident hanging on the mirror and the manager still said oh well the driver couldn't see the apartment number so she still has to pay it. Rolando did an amazing job at towing our car when my mom and I were connected to him through Geico Roadside Assistance. Earlier today, the tire came off the rim, my car was shaking, and I had to exit the freeway to stop at a parking lot. The Unique Towing truck came in just 45 minutes, which was quick. Rolando was careful to ensure that the left front tire rim wouldn't be further scratched by placing blocks underneath the front tires to first drag the car out of the parking space. Then, he placed a wooden block to put underneath the front rim while he lifted and towed the car by the front (where the damage was located). Thank you again Rolando! read more

One of the most bizarre and frustrating experiences I've ever had with a company. From the very first call, the representative clearly had no idea how to help and kept putting me on hold to ask someone else basic questions. The only redeeming part was that the driver gave me a heads-up when he was on the way--so I'll give one star for that. Then it got weirder: someone called me as the tow truck arrived and asked for my credit card info--but wanted it over the phone, which already felt sketchy. When I tried calling back, the voicemail didn't even mention the company name ("Unique Towing"), which made me even more uneasy about handing over sensitive info. But the final straw? I asked the driver--Chris--if this was the usual process for payment and receipts. His response? He called me a "smart ass." When I asked him not to speak to me like that, he turned around, walked away, said "have a good evening," and left without towing my vehicle. Chris arrived in a timely manner, but unfortunately my car was too low (from factory) so instead of attempting it anyhow, he took the safe route of getting a flatbed. Major shout-out to Jaime and Unique Towing for helping us when our Tesla Model Y low-voltage battery died without warning, which renders the car unable to do anything (open doors, put in neutral, etc.). We were connected with Unique Towing through Tesla Roadside Assistance and could not have been more pleased after 2 unsuccessful tow operators through AAA. Jaime arrived promptly and communicated with us while he was on the way. When he arrived, he was efficient but very thoughtful about getting the car on the flatbed and securing it (even though the doors an trunk couldn't close) - he clearly knew what he was doing and took really exceptional care of the car. Never ideal to have your car die on you, but we were grateful to have Jaime and Unique Towing there to help. Would happily call on them if/when something like this happens again! read more

Highest Recommendation Possible ... !!! We parked a car at the rear of our property for 16 yrs. The easement we used to park the car changed hands and they put up a gate and lock. The property managers insisted we pay a large fee for key. They also insisted that the tow company have many insurances. Unique towing provided a bid and proof of insurance. Turned out the brakes were frozen on the car and we would need to move the car in a very tight space with no brakes. We contacted Unique Towing again and explained the issue with pictures and they were able to provide a solution. The day of the tow I was very nervous, the trucks were big, and easement was very tight. They confidently and cautiously eased their way down the easement to the back garage. They skillfully pulled the car from the garage to the easement with one truck, and then pulled the car out with the other. I was amazed at their skill and friendliness. The whole process was awesome from calling in and setting up the pick up. The driver was so professional and treated the truck with such respect. He used cloth straps instead of chains. Antonio literally saved our lives. We were broken down on the side of 680 because the boat trailer's wheel fell off while driving. He arrived much earlier than the estimated time and somehow managed to get our lopsided boat trailer loaded and unloaded without a scratch on it. I am not sure how they train for these things. The owner is rude and money hungry. AVOID if you want to ever see your car and take out personal belongings. My car was taken there after an accident and he said, leave it at my tow yard for security (so he can collect more daily fees) Does he think I was born yesterday? My insurance fought 4 days with them to release my vehicle because a verbal They want physical card emailed and 100 authorizations to make it difficult to get your vehicle out. Do not call them for tow or storage. Their rates are much higher and they believe they own your car that point. IT'S NOT YOUR CAR GET IT STRAIGHT. They claim only 1 person can see the vehicle for 15 minutes a day because there is SO MUCH TRAFFIC coming through the yard. I didn't see a single vehicle moved. Came this morning to get things from a car that was totaled on Friday. On Friday I was told the office is open at 8am so I've been here waiting since the office is closed and says they open at 9am .
