These guys are great! I normally don't leave reviews, but for these guys I had to. Gregory was the guy that talked to me over the phone giving me exactly the info I needed. He arrived right on time and taught me a few things on about my car that I didn't even know about. Highly recommended!!!! read more

The dude I spoke with was a flaming asshole who was incredibly condescending and unhelpful. Called asking what they had in stock for radiator hoses and provided measurements. While explaining that we have a vintage car that is over 100 years old that would not be in their system I was interrupted and told "you can pay us to research it".... I told them I already know what I need, and again gave them the measurements, I was interrupted again and they said "it would be too hard to find it" in their OWN SHOP... If it's too hard for you to find a part in your own shop hire an organizer and don't be an ass. read more

Just a positive thumbs up for Mountain View Radiator. My front windshield had some type of sticky goo and I couldn't get it off with my normal equipment. It was scary driving with an obscured windshield so I tried to find the closest hand wash car wash because for some other reasons, I couldn't get a normal drive through car wash. Thought Mountain View Radiator doesn't have a car wash, they were really nice and just helped me wash off the goo with their car chemical equipments. So I'm very grateful because I could have crashed. And they were super nice about it and just seemed like nice people. Their office seemed really well run and there were many cars there getting fixed. Two Thumbs up! read more

My smart ED died at the charger, 3 miles away from my home. After walking home to call Geico and arrange a tow, I then walked back to where it was parked to give Bill the keys. Bill went out of his way to accommodate giving me time to walk back to the car after calling for the tow. Then when he learned I had to walk home again, he offered to give me a ride! So before he had even loaded my car, he drove me home. On the way we chatted a bit and I learned that he has gone through all the training to safely tow all the hardest cars -- for example my half-sized electric car and the Tesla, neither of which can be towed in the normal dolly-type way. So all in all, he went out of his way to not only provide excellent technical expertise, but also to be a kind human being. If I ever need a tow again, I will be requesting Geico sends him! read more

They also do detailing. The best. Not just Armoral. Deep cleaning.Windows done flawless. Inside and out. THE BEST.

Manny is the best. Very professional, very reasonable price. He changed the battery and fixed the broken latch in a few minutes.

I was driving on my way to work when my tire pressure light started flashing. I went to the closest auto body shop I could find and was lucky to come across this shop. Hassle free and at no charge, the attendant checked my tires and I was on my way. Excellent service. Thank you for making a what could be stressful situation, easy!! read more

I was treated incredibly rudely by this company's owner. My car battery had died due to a battery cell going bad, and I requested a jump start so I could at least get the car to a shop to have my battery replaced. I was told on the phone by the company owner that it would be $35. Later, I called to check whether the same company could also replace my battery (I spoke to the owner's son this time), and they said they could replace it for $135 including battery or $20 for just replacing if I provided the battery. I confirmed the cost of jump start, and this time they said it would be $55. I mentioned I was previously told $35, and I was told that I was mistaken. I thought, okay, I guess I misheard. Subsequently, the owner called to tell me he was at my car, but it was about 15 minutes sooner that expected (he had told me 30 min) so I was around the corner at Walmart frantically trying to buy a car battery. I told him I'd be there in 5 minutes, and he sounded very frustrated and rudely told me to "hurry up." Five minutes later, I arrived, and he took my keys and restarted the car. Then he said, "that will be $75." I thought, no way I misheard them twice, so I began to tell him that I was told $55 on the phone. He said, "are you going to pay or not?" I responded, "can I just explain what I was told on the phone?" But he cut me off and said "okay then" and, if you can believe it, he reached into my car, turned off the engine, tossed my keys onto my car roof and said-- "I don't like being lied to. Call someone else." I was dumbfounded. I called the company in a panic to re-confirm the price...was I crazy? It was the owner's son again, and he confirmed $55. Then, I told him what happened, and he said "yeah, that's my Dad, the owner." At least he was apologetic. But, needless to say, the owner was incredibly rude and awful and I would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

I am 95 years old and feel like I was taken advantage of. I was charged $2600 by Mountain View Radiator to fix several issues after my car broke down and was towed to their location by AAA. They ostensibly took care of the issue that caused the breakdown, but when they called to tell us the car was ready, they also suggested other work be done. I agreed to do some, because my caregiver and I need the car for transportation. They also sent someone to pick us up when the additional work was complete and I was not comfortable with the woman who picked us up. She didn't drive safely. After my caregiver drove the car for a few days, it was obvious that not all of the issues were taken care of and I didn't want to go back to Mountain View Radiator. I ended up taking the car to another service station (Shoreline Auto Care) who fixed the unresolved issues and told me that I was charged about double what I should have been by Mountain View Radiator. read more

Greg is the man. He came by my office late on a Friday night to unlock my car. He showed up in a flash, worked quickly, opened my car without a scratch, and was a pleasure to speak with all the while. I wish all the best to this lovely family business. read more

Super friendly. Greg seemed like a really genuine guy. He was extremely nice and patient as we got everything sorted out with our car after a wreck. E even arrived at the scene where my wife wrecked before me - like 15 minutes from when I called! Without a question I will call him if I need a tow anywhere near Sunnyvale or Mountain view. read more

Believe all the five-star reviews. This is the real deal. My car broke down just before rush hour and my auto club dispatched Greg from Family Towing. Greg is the kind of guy that you want to ask to be your kid's godfather, let alone the kind of guy who comes by to rescue your car by the side of the highway. Friendly, professional, and good-hearted are words to describe Greg and Family Towing. We got to know each other, and Greg even asked to take a picture of me by the car like he tries to do for his Dad each time so they can talk about the cars and people they work with. (Sorry, Greg, we totally forgot about this when we got caught up unloading the car with the whole neighborhood watching!) My poor steed will require a towing from mechanic to bodyshop and back, so I hope to use Family again. read more

Nobody likes to have to have their car towed, but this was an extremely good experience. I had done a stupid thing: I took a corner too fast and ripped a hole in the sidewall of my tire! My car has no spare, just an inflater and a flat fixer, so I was stuck! I called a few tire places and found one that had my tire. I asked them to recommend a tow and they suggested "Family Towing." Greg, the driver, called when he was on his way, and did an extremely careful job getting my car onto the flatbed truck. He took similar care removing it from the truck. He was very professional, nice, and pleasant to deal with. I was also impressed by his ability to move my car easily with just one hand on the tire! The price they quoted on the phone was the price I paid, and it was a reasonable rate. If I'm ever unfortunate enough to need a tow again, I'd definitely call them. read more

These guys are great! I had work done on my Jeep Grand Cherokee last year and I was very impressed with the honesty and level of service provided by Family Towing. It's not easy to find a good mechanic these days so it's refreshing to find a business like Family Towing. My Jeep needed some alignment and suspension work in addition to an inspection on the engine. The work was completed within 2 days (Very reasonable) and cost was less than what I had anticipated. Having had so many bad experiences with auto service shops, I expected to be up-sold on parts or unneeded services. This is not the case with Bill and his team. They did the work I asked for and performed a quality job. I have recently moved further away from their business but will continue to take my vehicles to Family Towing for future repairs. read more

Very incompetent and overpriced. I asked them to fix my trunk, stereo, and the key fob. They didn't fully fix the trunk, they said my stereo needs replacement even though the problem was with the power wire (I had to do the diagnostic myself), and they wanted to replace the entire alarm system when it was not broken. They charged me $320. read more

Thank you so much Greg! Family Towing is an incredible business. Greg and Manny were very communicative and flexible, making it as easy as possible for me. These guys are above and beyond for customer service! Greg took excellent care, with meticulous attention to detail, with my classic car. Rates were extremely reasonable, and I could not have been happier with the the service provided. Greg even finished the job while I had to hop on a work call. Everything worked out! Thanks again Family Towing! read more

I found Mountain View Radiator through CarDash which (as of 09/24/2018) is a great service in and of itself. After car difficulties, I brought in my Prius the very next morning and they looked at it immediately. Manny was friendly and informative and pointed me to a dealer nearby for my warranty-covered repair. Heather at the front desk was friendly and kind and chatted with me about the dog that hangs out in the office. Will go back! read more

Dont go here! These guys are con artists and just want to take your money. I'm guessing everyone leaving a good review is a family or friend. They are very rude and think people dont know their own vehicle when you come here. I've worked on my own car for years so I know what I'm doing underneath a hood. These goobers tried to tell someone I was selling a car to that it had leaks and radiator issues when I know 100% my car has no such problems. He even tried to tell me that my timing belt wasn't changed where I got it changed from. Avoid these goons at all cost. I'm certain the negative reviews here are more of the norm... read more

Thank you Greg. You are a super hero. My son slid his car on our icy driveway and was literally hanging off the hillside. Greg was very careful and his knowledge was obvious. It took him over an hour but he got the car up without any damage. If you could have seen how it was positioned you would understand just what a job this was. It could have gone very badly. We will never call anyone else. The BMW M3 was saved. Debbie and Jason Livingstone-Los Gatos, CA read more

Came in early Saturday morning to get a brake and lamp inspection was in and out within 30 mins. Fair prices and great customer service!

I've only had to have a car towed twice in my life, but this was easily the best service I've gotten. When the car initially broke down off of 880, CHP called a local towing place to do the job. It ended up costing $350 to get it towed to Mountain View, the guy wasn't that friendly, and I needed to participate during the hookup and off loading. Now, I needed to have the car towed to a service shop for transmission work. That's when I called Family Towing. I was skeptical at first, since 'family-owned' doesn't always mean high quality (I've seen plenty that get 'too' personal and unprofessional). However, given the reviews this place has had, I felt it was worth a try. Boy was that the right decision! One of the sons came out with a flat bed, gave a great price, and did all the work! Was very hassle free! Dropped it off at the shop on time. Will definitely be going back to them for all my towing and other auto needs. read more

A++++++++++++ Amazing My transmission blew, I found them on yelp, they towed my car to their shop, got me a rental car, and then my car was fixed and the price was awesome! read more

I was parked at the Sunnyvale Public Library and my car battery was drained. AAA replaced my dead battery and told me my battery system has a warning indicator on their test meter. So I look for an auto shop myself to give that a check, don't want my new battery to die quick. Found Mountain View Radiator on Yelp nearby, drove there asked for a check. The shop guy quickly checked my charging system and told me nothing to worry about, everything looks normal. Free of charge, good business! Thumbs up! read more

NEVER NEVER go with this company!!! If you don't want your car being grab and must call police to get your car back and don't want to accept to ONLY pay cash to get your car loaded and don't want yourself to be injured! Please don't use their service! This is my worst experience I have ever had in my life! My tie got flat and I called this company by searching online. I wait for over two hours, called three times to get the towing car arrived. I saw the tie was getting worse after the tow driver pull my car to the truck, so I told him I want the repair shop owner to check it. He immediately got angry and said he won't load my car and jump into his car and left. I was scared and jumped his car to try to stop him. OH MY GOD, he just kept driving his truck! You never know how scaring it is!! I jump off and saw him left with nothing I can do! Everybody saw he was doing it and warning him he can't do in this way. He just ignored it and left. I called police and they came and said he insist only accept cash, otherwise he will take my car away until I pay cash! I confirmed with this towing company before I had their service they do accept credit card! Now, I don't have cash on hand and because of that, I can't get my own car!!! In order to get my car, I beg the repair shop owner to pay for me and then I pay them back. What an awful experience it is! Again, if you want to have such experience in your live, go with this company! You will have a very 'surprise' experience! read more

Embarrassed to say my car ran out of gas on the 101. Pulled over, got out, prepared to start walking since I was close to the exit. But then I look up. Is than an angel? No, but its a big yellow tow truck. Really. Less than 2 minutes and no call needed! Greg rolled down the window. I said, "You got any gas?" He said, "No, but get in and Ill give you a ride. Lets go get you some!" Less than 10 minutes later I am back at my car, 2 gallons into my tank and ready to go. Greg turns around and says "Have a great day!" Really? No charge? Wow. Truly an angel among us. Thanks Greg, you're a life saver. (Don't forget to tip your angels!) read more

10 stars, if I could. My Benz' check engine light went on and would not shift. I parked in some parking lot and called Mercedes Roadside Assistance, and this is where Family Towing/Greg Herrera comes and saves us! Less than 45 minutes after I place my call, too. They were going to transfer me to Smythe on Stevens Creek when I requested to Greg that instead we be transferred to Fletcher Jones MBZ in Fremont. I then got a call from Roadside Assistance confirming this action, and it was set. From Sunnyvale, we drive through the traffic and to Fremont we go. The whole ride was very pleasant! if I were ever stranded again, I'd hope it would be Family Towing that rescues me! Thanks again Greg! read more

Best towing experience ever. Bill helped me with my motorcycle, knows exactly what to do and is very helpful and friendly.

I need a car towed in Mountain View. I talked to Greg, the son of his father's business and he showed up within 10 minutes. Took about 15 minutes to get it on the truck and he delivered it to my yelp-looked-up choice of Felix's Auto Shop, which he also knew and recommended. He even delivered my car key to them such that my trip to the auto shop wasn't even necessary. In short, there's a good reason this locally-owned and family-run business has 5 stars for 16 of 16 reviews. read more

It's not often I have an experience memorable enough to bother writing a review, but my experience with Greg from Family Towing was truly stellar. I had two tires go flat in a very remote area (narrow, one lane roads) and Family Towing was the only towing company that my roadside assistance was able to source that was willing to make the trip out. Greg made the trip out to Santa Cruz county from San Francisco, which naturally took some time, but from the moment of his arrival, he did his best to provide a great experience...something hard to do when you've been stuck on the side of the road for awhile and just want to get on with your day. Greg was courteous, professional, and very personable. We had a long ride back to the dealership and we had a pleasant conversation. Once we arrived, he went out of his way to ensure all loose ends were taken care of and even offered some friendly advice for future roadside issues. All in all a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this family owned towing service to anyone. read more

I just wanted to say that this is a great towing company. I live in Sunnyvale, and got towed earlier today, and although generally it's a pretty bad experience, I'm sure that next time I need a tow, I'll go with Family Towing. My car hasn't started for a while, and so I called a few places off of Yelp. Most of them were pretty expensive, and frankly not very polite over the phone. But when I reached Greg at this place, he was really polite and just wanted to sincerely provide good customer service. And the price was the best quote I got of all the 4 places I called. Greg wasn't just on time, he was a little early. He hooked up my car like a pro, and towed me to the Mazda dealership in San Jose. Easy. Overall, I couldn't have asked for anything more. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Love these guys! Did a fantastic job on BMW. Great pricing and customer service as well. Highly recommend!

Greg at family towing is a true professional! We made an appointment for a Saturday am tow for our antique car. He called to confirm and showed up right on time. Greg loaded our non-running vehicle quickly and carefully without any hesitation. He helped us securely store it as well. Family towing charged us a reasonable rate just as quoted. We are really pleased with their service and highly recommend them to anyone needing a tow service in the Bay Area. Five stars all around! read more

Needed to tow my motorcycle(a really heavy touring bike) from my home to a dealer. I got quotes from a few places around the area and they had the lowest quote. I got an appointment for the next day, they arrived on time and got the job done. Friendly staff, smooth service, no complains. read more
