I own an 84 TransAm that has an electric cooling fan instead of the kind that bolt to the water pump. Kyle has worked on three of my vehicles and I have paid the bill, no questions asked. He charged me $638 to replace the Relay & a wire, $63.79 for parts, $551 for LABOR. $145/hour for diagnosis. Then, on top of that, he charged me $18.60 for using my Credit Card, WITHOUT TELLING ME. I called &talked to Kyle about it and he said he could deduct the $145/hour for testing. Didn't Happen. I won't go back!. I'm a 81 year old living on a fixed income and just feel this was excessive! And, charging me EXTRA for NOT USING CASH. He said it wasn't him charging me, but it is HIS BUSINESS. He can charge whatever he wants. TOO RICH FOR MY BLOOD! It's that time of the year again..... DMV annual registration renewal, and its been two years since the last smog was done on my awesome vintage vehicle so that needed to be done and passed too. First time here yet my mother had been in to work with Pardip (par-deep) this past month for a smog as well and she passed on the first try so she referred me. I also have an aftermarket air filter I am afraid to take off and clean myself as I have no idea how to put it back into place so today, Pardip heard my dilemma and suggested I go to O'Riley's auto parts down the street and pick up an air filter cleaning kit with oil in it. I did so and one of his employees did a thorough job cleaning and reinstalling the air filter for me. What great customer service. My 2005 Chevy Tahoe passed smog on the first try and Pardip did it so fast I no sooner sat down in the lobby when he returned to tell me the good news. Pricing was super fair: $15 labor to clean the reusable air filter $50 Smog Certificate & Smog Pass I thought his pricing and work were both of the highest of quality & he's respectful and polite and easy to speak with. I had a great experience here this week and will be returning. He makes you feel like you've just stepped into a time machine and have been transported back in time, when shop owners were welcoming, honest, polite, agreeable and realistically fairly priced. read more

This is honestly a 10 star business. I was referred here by my mechanic when my car wouldnt pass smog. They looked to see if there was any fix before ordering/installing me a new catalytic converter. Unfortunately there was not so we went ahead with this. Then they were able to help me pass smog. There were a few hiccups in getting the part because of covid but the guys were constantly communicating with me. They also picked me up from Turlock and drove me back to the shop on two different days to get my car. They provide old fashioned high quality service and are really skilled at troubleshooting and mechanic work. Definitely go here if you need repairs or a smog! read more

Was told to drop my car off Monday. So we dropped it off. It's been there all week no one calls to let us know what's going on with the car. Took it in for engine light on that said misfire. Ended up paying a thousand dollars for other things. They ordered a part without telling me and we found out when we called to check on it. They said they ordered a part yet the light is still on for said part. Which again wasn't part needed to start with. I did get pissed off a curse I will say I'm wrong but come on. How hard is it to keep a customer in the loop when you've had their car for a week. So now we have to pay for same stuff we paid them for and the original issue we told them about. Took the car in a year ago 2/5/21 to have the valve covers replaced did the work paid now im having the work done again (1yr later)due to them doing half ass work by doing so they stripped the side of my aluminum block where my valve covers bolt in to now i gotta pull the motor have the side of the block refinished just cause there shitty ass owner is very pushy an dont like to be told his wrong doings. I went in to Bob's knowing I had a leak in my power steering hose. They were booked when I initially went in but the clerk politely asked if I could come in first thing the next morning. The next morning I brought my car in right at 8am and they promptly checked it in and said they would examine the problem and call with the estimate. 1 hour later they called with the estimate. 3 hours later they called saying my car was done and ready to pick up! My car is back to running flawlessly and they even put the extra effort in to clean my engine bay from the leaking fluid. Excellent customer service, ultra fast repair, very reasonable labor prices. No question I'm headed back to Bob's next time my car needs repair. read more

owner is dishonest, he promised to retest my truck after i drove it 100-200 miles to reset it so it can smog. All I did was get a major tune up it didnt need it but i had the cash so wantd to do it now before issues came up, 900 miles later and 1 month and 2 days it still wont pass, he sayin could be 7000 miles its illegal for me to drive it and shoulda told me this first i coulda smogged it then had a tune up, he promised me hed test it bring it in every few days now he says i dont want you here anymore and says sorry for breaking his word. Really a sorry wont help me, so dishonest and rude. $660 for a tune up n diagnostic testand this is what I get. Warning stay away from this shop. read more

The folks at Bob's Auto are fair and honest. If it can be fixed without buying a bunch of unnecessary parts, they'll tell you so. My family has been taking cars here for years and we've never had an issue with the work done or the prices quoted. And if you bring a car in for smog and it has the check engine light on, they won't do like other shops and run it and then tell you it failed because of the light, they'll tell you straight up that you need to get the check engine light taken care of first. read more

It all started with my vehicle engine light code p1457 I took it in to get checked. After the diagnostic they told me that 2 evaporated valve need to be replaced. I told him go ahead and fix it. After it was fix he also smog my vehicle so everything was good. I took my vehicle and when I drove it on the second day that was fix the engine light came back on. I took it back next morning and I let him know that the engine light was on and wanted to know what it was. He check it and was the same code P1457. So he say he was going to have it Check. The next day I stop by before he close. They told me vehicle was ready and I told him what was wrong? Mechanic say that one of the small hoses was split open so he just cut the tip off and connected it and I didn't pay anything. I left and after driving the car for 2 day's the engine light came back on. I took back on monday morning and I told him that the engine light had came back on. He told I don't have time today but bring it back tomorrow morning and drop off the vehicle. So I did and it happened to be the same code. So on Wedsday I pick up my car he told me that he check the evaporated system and it's not showing any problem and that I should take it to the dealer because he doesn't know why is doing that. So I did I took it to specialized auto in modesto and pay 95 dollars for the diagnostic. I call them next morning and they told me your vehicle is ready. I pay them the fee and he explained to me what they found wrong and wrote it in the receipt that the connections were wrong. So I took the receipt and drove back to Bob's auto center and show him the prove of my receipt and that I would like a refund for the 95 dollars diagnostic. He straight out say No that is not my problem and that he will not give me the 95 dollars I pay to take to another shop and do the diagnostic. I was disappointed by this after all the trouble I had gone to get to figure out the problem and find out that the valves that they install the connections were wrong. I just want people to know of this shop to be aware so this doesn't happened to them. read more

I am a single woman. I have been conned and ripped off time and time again by various mechanics and repair facilities. Bob's Auto Center was recommended to me over and over again. I now know why! Pardeep and his mechanics are as honorable, reliable, fair, and honest as I have ever had! Though it appeared I needed major work done, I was told by Pardeep that what I'd been told was incorrect, and that what needed to be fixed was actually rather minor. I was in a position that I would've believed whatever they told me. To be told the truth is beyond an appreciated relief. They've worked on my car for a few years, and I would never want to take my car anywhere else! Integrity seems to be a quality that is rare these days! There is integrity through and through here!
