Do NOT go here. They truly ignored/neglected to inspect and diagnose my car. My car shut off and was low on coolant.came here for diagnostic. 2 weeks after leaving their shop , my gasket blew because, hey, this place said I DIDNT HAVE A LEAK , they didnt check the carbonnoid levels near engine. They were just so neglectful, I took it here for serious symptoms , and when they came back with, "it only needs coolant" I was SHOCKED. Then 2 weeks of gentle only driving in town to grocery store, gasket blows. I'll tell u what else blows, this place! Had our car towed to Nona's after they told us over the phone they could look at it the same day. Car would start but almost immediately sputter and die. That was 8am. By 4 pm we had made two calls and both were answered by the rudest person I've ever talked to who acted like it was a bother to talk to a customer. During the second call, he admitted they hadn't even looked at our car and told me I could come get it if I didn't like how long it was taking. The next day they told us they couldn't duplicate the issue we reported as their tech wasn't available. On the afternoon of the second day, they told us to come get our car as nothing was wrong. After getting the car back, my wife was unable to start it. We called a tow truck and had it towed home. The following day, we took it to the GM dealer in town... they diagnosed and repaired the issue same day and for a very reasonable price. Nona"s is not a customer-centric business. They're rude. They're slow. They overcharge. That is, if they even do the work they claim was done because, in our case, we don't believe (and neither does the GM dealership who repaired it) that any work was ever done on our vehicle while at Nona's. read more

I think the most important thing for people to know about this shop is that they do not guarantee their work!!! The manager himself, told me that! We took our Honda Odyssey to them because our side and back doors would not open and we had a loose battery cable. They called us a few hours later and said the van was ready to pick up. When we got there. The first thing I did was to open the side door. It would not open! It was NOT fixed!! They fixed the battery cable. We had thought that we would probably need a new battery, but they said that there was nothing wrong with the battery. I said "so, the battery is in perfect condition". The manager asked me what I meant by perfect. I said " I want to know that it should last a couple of years and not die next week! " He told me that nobody in the World could tell me that. Maybe not just anybody, but I would expect a real mechanic to have a little more automotive knowledge! The doors! The next day!! The manager told us that fixing the doors would be complicated and that after they fixed the doors, we would have to take it somewhere else to have it reprogrammed!!!!! I am 70 years old. I have been going to mechanics for at least 50 years and in my experience and opinion the manager and employees at Nonas should not be allowed near a motor vehicle!!! We took our Honda to SpeeDee Oil Change in Turlock and a real mechanic FIXED our van and didn't get philosophical about what the World may or may not know. read more

If I could give a no star I would. Terrible rude and didn't diagnose correctly. Said all we needed was coolant keeping our car for over a week and having to get a car rental to commute to work. Also paying them $255 just to tell us nothing was wrong but the coolant. Got it back and the lights went back on and overheating again! Took to Speedee and they said it was a easy diagnosis and now we have a blown head gasket. Which is now going to cost $2000. After Nona's charged $255 to just say we just needed coolant and nothing was wrong and kept us without a car for a week and having to get a rental to commute to work! Went in to talk to them after going to Speedee and them telling us Nona's should of been able to diagnose it and he said to take them to court! Terrible experience. read more

I absolutely recommend this repair shop. Eshu and Sarge are amazing. I've taken my car here twice. Once for a solenoid repair and another for an issue with my tire gauge. They charge fair prices and are quick. Being a female who never had to deal with car repairs and issues before, just knowing I can trust them not to nickel and dime me, gives me comfort I can bring my vehicle to them again if needed. We brought our daughter's 1994 Honda here for Lee tropic door lock that weren't operating with the remote. Sarge diagnosed the problem and gave a reasonable quote to replace a door handle assembly and two actuators. The repairs were completed on time and within the quoted amount. Now, that I'm back in the area, I'm using Nona's again for all of my auto servicing needs. These guys really know the meaning of customer service when one of the mechanics, actually dug out some diamond earrings that had wedged themselves under the center console. Brought my son's 1998 Buick Regal in to have a cooling system leak checked. Nona's replaced the water pump (not a cheap item) and said that they found a problem with the alternator. I ok'd the replacement of the alternator (again not a cheap item). They called back and said the battery would not hold a charge and recommended the replacement of the battery (not a cheap item) which I ok'd and picked up the car. Two days after the return, the car's NEW battery was drained! Had to have it towed from Modesto to Turlock. Nona's kept the car for 5 days trying to locate the source of the problem. They claim the car radio is draining the battery. Their "professional" solution?? Remove the fuse to the car radio when the car is parked over night!!! Really?? That's a "professional" solution? BTW before all of this, there was absolutely no problem with the electrical system of the car!! read more

I signed up to Yelp, just to write this review. I normally chaulk up bad reviews to an acute situation, that one party had, and shouldn't be viewed as standard practice, for that business. That being said, I felt this interaction warranted a social media review. My truck was running rough, and I had done some extensive repair work, myself. My repairs didn't solve the problems, and I had to break down and take it to a shop. I chose Nona's, as they had been in business for many years, and I had a few recommendations for them. First thing I noticed, Sarge was not personable, and almost off putting, kinda like I was interrupting his work. As I told him the problems, including the trouble code numbers, and what I had already done, he was shaking his head and chuckling. After a week, I called, just to check on the status. Standard answer of, "He's working on it, he'll get back to you." Two weeks in, called again, "Please stop calling and let us do our job!", mind you, this is the second call in 2 weeks. After a month, I get a phone call, and Sarge wants to know when I'm getting my truck. I arrive at Nona's, he told me they changed the sparkplugs, and distributor cap and rotor (cap and rotor were less than a month old, and he was told they had already been replaced). Paid the man, and got my keys. Fired up my truck, and she was running as rough as before. Half way home and my check engine light came on again, same code! I ended up paying him $200 for changing my spark plugs and 2 parts that didn't need replacing. I took it to the local Chevy dealer, the next day. Several days later, they called and said I had a couple of bad cylinders, and the engine needed to be replaced! Not what I wanted to hear, but at least I had an answer. Long story short, I wouldn't use Nona's, ever. But I have to imagine they're good at minor work, otherwise they wouldn't have been in business as long as they have been. Had two cars into Nona's Auto Repair. Rotarian! First one I did not get charged for replacing my battery cable connector I messed it up trying to do it myself. 2. My 280zx Classic was leaking gas. They replaced the hoses. I would recommend them to anyone. They are honest and very fair. My car comes out clean too with no finger prints. They are clean and professional. 1 star is 1 too many for this establishment. I paid thousands of dollars for a new transmission and it is clear now that it was never the problem. After the thousands of dollars Nona's gave me a warranty, the problem I had did not go away and I had to bring it back. This time they said it was a problem that is not related to the transmission and I have to pay in full for additional work. Furthermore it took over a week for Nona's to check the system for the error code on both occurrences, a process that takes less than an hour. I will never use this establishment again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Flat out horrible and dishonest service. read more

I needed an oil change and it was brought to my attention that one of my tires was low on air. They suggested I get a new tire. Fair price and prompted service within an hour.
