But as you prod it you will notice the whole chunks of apple and generous portion of pecans baked into its brownness. With the first bite you will realize that this pancake doesn't even need syrup--a bold claim for a sugar fiend like me. Bobo's gets busy, but table turnover is fast. Stick to small group if you come during busy times, and don't rest your arm in a syrup-sticky spot on the table top. If you're not a pancake person, the biscuits and gravy are good. If you're there at ungodly hours (like 6 AM) you can get eggs, potatoes, and toast for $2. Walked into this diner is like walking into a movie science for me- a small, cozy place with a family touch and feel. We came on a Tuesday morning and the restaurant is packed. The apple pancake I ordered is huge. Thinly sliced apple with carmanized syrup on top of a fluffy cake-like pancake is one of the best pancake I ever had. Hubby ordered chicken liver omelette, an unusual ingredient for omelettes, but he loves it. It was prepared with onion and sour cream. Bobos has been one of our favorites for a few years now. Recommended by Tucson friends when we moved here and it has never disappointed. Some days there are waiting lines to get in and because there is nowhere to stand inside you have to wait outside. Then when it is busy you have to squeeze in to a table with other people practically in your lap. All worth it! I have tried several of their omelets. Every combination delicious. The home fries are great. I order mine extra crispy. My family loves the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken with eggs. Both amazing! My favorite is the banana pancake, pecans added. They put butter and brown sugar on the grill before adding the fruit and batter so you get this caramelized banana pancake that you will never forget! Recently tried the burger and it was so tasty! And we absolutely cannot forget their coffee, which is excellent and they have various staff walking around continuously with a fresh pot. I dont believe my cup has ever even gotten half empty. I have never gotten bad or mediocre food here. We take all our out of town friends and everyone loves it. We travel 20 minutes from home to get here and will continue to do so. read more

Oh boy. Bobo's is everything you want in a restaurant. They're the real deal. We walked in with a group of 5 around 11am and were super fortunate to beat the rush. One guy in our group mentioned that the host that seated us had been there 14 years ago when he used to come here regularly on the weekends. We all ordered breakfast and it was amazing. Let's start with the coffee. Bobo's does it right. I couldn't finish half my cup before a server topped me off again. And it was excellent coffee! I really only needed a cup but it was so good I had three before we left. The servers were just as good at filling water cups. I ordered the special: Huevos Rancheros and it was great. I knew that would be enough food but then someone at the table next to us got a banana pancake. Here's what you need to know about the pancakes here: they're HUUUUUUGE and delicious. I saw one come out next to us and couldn't resist. This might be the best decision I've ever made. I'm not a pancake guy. I never order them. I don't even make them at home because I'd rather have an omelet. But when I saw one on the table next to me with caramelized sugar I had to try it. I can't over emphasize how good it was. I could only eat half because I also had the huevos rancheros but I ate as much as I could! It was still excellent the next day as leftovers! I don't know how to express how good their pancakes are to a guy that doesn't like pancakes! Their batter is the perfect blend of sweet and salty and everything you could ever hope for. I have not been to BoBo's in quite sometime, went this last weekend and it was pretty darn good. The wait was not as long as I remember and the service was great despite being packed. It is so cool that they are served in a pizza box...the kids were super impressed, and could only eat about half of their pancake. My wife and I had the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken and they were excellent! They both had great flavor in the meat and the breading. My youngest had a bacon and cheese omelet, and she really liked it. The home fries are delicious. They lose two stars because when I got to our hotel (20 minutes away) I discovered that they had not included the bacon and sausage for 2 of my orders. My eggs over medium were definitely over hard (probably due to the long drive).
