If you're looking for a great BBQ spot with a great atmosphere, Bobby Q's is definitely worth checking out! The atmosphere and ambiance were excellent, making it a really enjoyable place to sit down and have a meal. We started with the loaded baked potato, and it was delicious. The potato was cooked just right, not too hard and not overly soft, with just the right amount of butter and toppings. We also ordered the ranch salad. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, although I would have liked to see a few more cucumbers. The jalapeño cheddar sausage plate had just the right amount of spice. The flavor was good, but unfortunately, the sausage was a little too rubbery. It seemed like it may have been cooked just a bit too long. Still, it had good flavor and was enjoyable. And if you like sweet tea, theirs definitely lives up to the name! It was sweet. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was great, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Definitely a place I'd consider coming back to and trying something else from the menu.

The drinks were really good as always

We were there last night. The food, the drinks and the friendliness of the staff were excellent as always. My complaint about last night is about the temperature of the restaurant. It was so warm that I started sweating. They had some portable AC around, so obviously their main AC wasn't working properly. I know this things happen, but they should had tell us in advance about the temperature problem, or maybe they could have suggested us to sit closer to the portable AC so we could be more comfortable. We were expecting to enjoy a good moment. It didn't happen

While very friendly, Staff seemed quite distracted from being seated until i asked for the check. The cornbread and pulled pork nachos were delicious. The decor inside was very well done and very clean. Will be back

This place is a must try! The ambiance is so fun! We had a party of 6 and were easily accommodated! The food was all delicious! We ate family style and ordered a ton of apps and shared it all. The service was great! The guy at the bar was so kind. There were no complaints. Everyone was very satisfied! Definitely recommend giving them a try!

Apple cobbler, with pastry top

Our visit to Bobby Q in Mesa began a bit roughly - but TL;DR; the good news is some great staff turned the evening around! How a team reacts to problems tells me more about the place than just having a 3 or 4 star experience - this group showed experience, grace, and real concern. To start - if you want a booth, make sure you specify that when you put in your name - it changes the wait time. While we waited, we ordered Cokes from the bar, and Marquis gave a warm welcome and great service! Upon finally sliding into our booth, we found the seats hadn't been brushed off - and it was very crumb-y (pun intended) - we ended up using our napkins and then grabbing new sets from a nearby table. We also learned the Coke was FLAT and bitter - not great. However our server, Calvin, during that typical greeting and small talk actually invited us to share our concerns, asking us not to hold back and as a result went above and beyond to turn our experience around. An additional visit from Manager Josh followed, apologizing and genuinely seemed to want the the feedback as a tool for improvement and coaching for some new staff. From that point, everything was great! From getting replacement drinks, to sampling the pulled pork and brisket to tender ribs, and the good sized Cajun shrimp appetizer, the team truly redeemed the evening, and the apple cobbler (it's got a pastry top!) and cinnamon sugar donuts was a great close to the meal. Calvin and Josh gave a masterclass in how to turn a meh start into a memorable meal. We're looking forward to going back - next time with a booth request upfront!

Priscilla's Dream (my favorite)

We took my parents and my little sister to try Bobby Q since we've always enjoyed the food. The food was great as always but service provided by Calvin was tremendous! He gave us very good advice between beer fries vs mashed potatoes and was so kind and patient with my indecisive little sister who had no clue what to order. He super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to our needs through our meal. My dad said he will definitely come back again to try more of the menu! 10/10 visit :)

Awesome lemonade! Not too sugary and not too sour

Bobby Qs is a great place for higher quality BBQ experience. You can get standard BBQ items, Salads, Burgers, sandwiches and Steaks. There's something for everyone here and the food is great. Also the service from DJ was top notch. He was very attentive and helpful for our dinner experience. Just a tip, if you have a group of 4-6, order the Hog Heaven. More than enough food for the group and keeping it easy for everyone. Great place for BBQ!

The "Whole Hog"

Closer to a 4.5 because Crystal was awesome and there are many things to like about Bobby Q's. The place looks great and has a fun, energetic (but welcoming) vibe - like a bbq place should have. Sat at the bar to avoid any wait and it was a great choice because Crystal took excellent care of us. Ordered the "Whole Hog" and got to try different meats and sides. The mashed potatoes with peppered gravy were a hit, and the brisket was tender. Also enjoyed the pulled chicken and beef ribs. Overall good food - definitely get the mash! Also ordered drinks and those were terrific! Smoked old fashioned and Blood Orange Margarita - both excellent. The Blackberry Smash was delicious, too.

Ahmazing!! Awesome food, awesome service! Dominque was amazing!! She literally was one of the best funny, attentive and gracious servers I have ever had!! I have never had a bad thing here EVER. The laid back fun mood of the restaurant always brings me back!

Came here for dinner and was glad we had reservations. There were quite a few people waiting for tables, and there is not a lot of space to wait. This place has a great atmosphere--very rustic, with lots of reclaimed wood and exposed brick. If you take a walk around the bar, you can see how big this place is. One big complaint we had was the drink menu. It's had nice colorful pictures of each cocktail, but absolutely no description of the cocktails. That would be great if we were only in an Instagram world, but we actually like to choose our cocktails by what's in them, and more importantly what's NOT in them. I love mezcal, and hubby hates it. Hubby loves whiskey, and I hate it. But there was no way to know the ingredients. We asked the server if there was a menu that listed what was in each drink. She said no and I asked how are we supposed to know what's in the drink? She said she knows them all and we would have to ask her. She really did know them all, but we only asked for a couple because we didn't want her standing there giving us the rundown of 20 cocktails. I'm not sure why they would do it this way, but it seems like a really bad thing. I really love the cornbread and butter that every table gets. So happy to see our server bring us the basket! Hubby got the brisket salad and I got to pecanha steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and pecan coleslaw. I loved every single thing about my meal. The chimichurri on the pecanha steak was delicious! On the other hand, hubby said that his brisket did not have much flavor and that it was just okay. Of course at the end of the meal we got a little bag of the signature cinnamon sugar donuts! That's always a treat! We had a nice time and I really liked my dinner, but they seriously need to think about a different cocktail menu.

Ask the Community - Bobby Q - Mesa

Is the cornbread unlimited?

Yes we've been served multiple baskets !☺️

Is there outdoor dining?

Yes

I was just wondering what items you would recommend for a Gluten Free meal? or even side orders.

All the meat and BBQ is gluten free! And mash potatoes, Broccoli, coleslaw! Very gluten friendly!

P Is there patio seating?

They do, mostly shady too, yet not dog friendly.

Is the spicy sausage a real hot link?

No, not like farmer johns or earl campbell hot, they are spicy plus they are cut in Diagonal slices. Now they are very hot if you add the hot bbq sauce

Is this bbq place kid friendly? It would be nice to have a great meal with the wife , a couple cocktails and let the kids enjoy as well.

Excellent spot for the family... My nephews absolutely love their Mac and cheese.. Very kid friendly And free in house scratch made donuts at the end of your meal.

Is this the same people as the one in Phoenix or is it a franchise?

Pretty sure it's the same owner.

Gluten free options?

It says gluten free on their page

It was our first time here, and my mom had never tried Korean BBQ before, so she didn't know what to expect. She ended up loving the buffet section and the menu, especially all the veggies and sides she could pick herself. They give you so much food, and the cook‑at‑your‑booth concept feels fun, interactive, and a little boujee if you lean into it. You just pick and choose from the menu, everything comes out fresh, and you grill it right at your table. I thought it was worth the price, even though I don't eat a lot -- as Calvin Klein once said, the key to looking young is staying slim. Okay Diva? Our server was super helpful and patient, especially with my mom since it was her first time. They explained everything clearly, checked on us often, and made sure we had what we needed without hovering. The broths were flavorful, the meats were tender, and the whole experience felt smooth and easy. KPOT isn't trying to be a Michelin star moment -- but it is giving generous portions, fun vibes, and a great intro to Korean BBQ for anyone who's never tried it. We had been planning this visit for a while and were both really excited to try it. Although we were seated quickly, we were given a regular table after specifically requesting a booth. We tried not to complain, but due to my lower back pain, the hard chair became very uncomfortable for me. There was an empty booth right next to us, so before any drinks or food had even arrived, we politely asked our server if we could move. Instead of showing understanding, she responded very rudely with, "No sorry, we can't move you because that booth belongs to another server" - Are you kidding me?!!! So just because this server didn't want to lose her table I had to sit there and be uncomfortable the whole time. From that point on, I was uncomfortable and in pain the entire meal, which made it hard to enjoy the experience. On top of that, our server rarely checked on us, my son finished his beer before our food arrived and never offered refills, and seemed more focused on chatting with coworkers than paying attention to her tables. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, I understand how busy things can get, but kindness and attentiveness go a long way. I would never treat my guests that way, especially when someone is simply asking for a little comfort accommodation. Overall, it was very disappointing service for what we hoped would be a special outing.

Keeping that they're AYCE in mind, don't expect to be wowed by food and service. You have to be on your toes to flag down service after your order is taken. Unless you're actively burning your food, your grill won't be changed out unless you ask. You're also discouraged from raising the heat of the grill, so meat can take a long time to cook. Otherwise, service is fast as long as you can get their attention. Don't be shy! Many of the marinated meats are under seasoned. I suspect they haven't been marinated for the proper amount of time and that they throw the seasonings on top before serving. Because the marinated meats are thicker and wetter, they take longer to cook and don't cook properly on the under heated grills. I recommend ordering the unmarinated meats and seasoning to your tastes with salt or sauce. Appetizers are also just okay and rather small, but still good value considering that it's an AYCE spot. You can also get refills on the banchan (side dishes) for free and can even ask for more of a single item. Come with a hungry group to get the absolute best value. Meat isn't cheap!
