Always wanted to come here, but its at the very tip top of the SGV and I'm not in Monrovia on the regular so, since I had a SGV passport, I had a reason to stop by. I heard they also have surprise mini plushes in their cups, but I totally forgot to get one. The interior had a claw machine (which I used and won 2 things) and a play area for kiddos. I ordered the free milk tea and a galaxy box. Tea was good! Really wanna come back for that surprise plushie that comes in the bottom of the cup!
Great drinks in a friendly and chill environment. I love the refillable bottle (saves you $1). My weekly go-to boba place!
SGV Boba Passport x Boba Box. Wife and I redeemed the our free drinks and ended up selecting the Green Milk Tea & the Black Milk Tea. Orders can be do via kiosk but we had to get the stamps from the staff The drinks were done pretty fast. The style/shape of the cups are cool. The flavors were just ok for us. I think they were a bit watered down as it lacked enough sweetness. The location is cool however. There's many tables and free wifi offered. They have a claw machine and other toys and board games for customers to play. Ambiance is nice. It's worth a visit, IMO. ( ^_^)b
Came here to redeem an offer from the Boba SGV Passport with my husband. Offer: 1 free Milk Tea with boba. We were only given two options - Green Milk tea and Black Milk Tea. I redeemed the Green Milk Tea, my husband got the Black Milk Tea. They do offer milk substitutions, so we got ours with oat at no extra charge. This is located in the corner of the downtown area. The high ceilings give this a spacious feel. They also have several tables that could seat a minimum of 4; in addition to a long high-top table near the counter. They have games, puzzles, a claw machine, even a small artist table for the toddlers available. It's a good spot to hang out at. As for the drinks, I've read a few reviews saying the quality isn't as great as other spots. I do agree, mine tasted watered down. I will say the tapioca balls were actually good! They were pleasantly sweet and bouncy. If you have the boba passport, I would get the Black Milk Tea instead. We had to park up the street a little bit, not far from the business. It wasn't packed when we arrived on a Sunday evening. This place was okay for me. If I find myself back here, I would like to try their Yuzu Yuzu drink.
Came here to redeem our SGV Passport Boba. This place is close to my child's school so we came by to give it a try. Not bad! We had the Green Milk Tea with Boba. We ordered with the cashier to stamp our pass. Flavor of the tea was decent and the bobas were soft and chewy. Atmosphere is cool with a good amount of seating. Students get discounts and there are books, games and toys for kids.
First time visiting, found them through the SGV boba passport. It's spacious and clean with cute decor and friendly service. It's a great place to hang out with friends. There's lots of indoor seating, games and even a play area for kids. The boba was a little hard for my liking but I enjoyed the green milk tea. They have BOGO happy hour weekdays from 12p-3p. Every month it's a different tea, when we went it was Thai ice tea.
What a fun spot! Boba box is such a nice spot to grab drinks and hangout with friends and family. We tried the oolong milk tea, matcha latte, butterfly pea tea and mango smoothie. The mango smoothie was fruity and refreshing, and milk tea and matcha latte had good flavor. The mystery plush or squishy add-on is so fun and only $3! We love how there's so much seating and an area and lots of activities for kids. Definitely check them out if you're in old town Monrovia!

I got the brown sugar milk tea with boba ($7) to go. I asked for 75% sweetness and regular ice. I thought it was on the pricy side for the quality. The milk tea was moderately creamy and light on tea flavor. I appreciated its classic milk tea flavor, though it got a little lost the more I kept drinking it. As for the brown sugar boba, it was lightly sweetened. It was neither flavorless nor flavorful, if that makes sense. The pearls were chewy and softer than I prefer. Before leaving the shop, I admired the plant wall and light decoration (very Instagrammable). However, the music was too loud for my ears. I wouldn't be able to stay for an extended period of time.
Boba box offer drinks in a "box" shaped container. To order, you can do it directly at the front desk or at a kiosk by the door. The store is spacious, with plenty of tables and selective board games available. The drinks did not stand out to me as much, but I would definitely come back again.
Ambiance is everything here. When you walk in, there's a table with printed menus and an iPad to self-order. The menus have pictures of all the drinks so the visual aid is appreciated. After ordering, you can take a seat in the large space with plenty of tables. I like that there are board games provided, a touch screen game table, and even a kid zone. There is also a crane game and Photo Booth! The strips range $6-$8 but you can get a coupon when you order a drink. The staff is concealed in the back behind curtains and they only come out to serve drinks so the atmosphere feels like you can just hang out without being watched. They have fun snacks in the front for sale as well. Something cool about the shop is you can pay extra to put your drink in a surprise cup - the cup comes with a boba plush! I got a honeydew tea with boba and a green milk tea with boba. The honeydew wasn't too sweet and didn't taste powdery at all. The green milk tea did have a herbal taste and the boba was cooked well. The parking options seem to be street but also there's a huge plaza parking lot across the street that is easy. Bathroom was easy to find and was clean.
I experienced Boba Box last weekend as a guest at a private event. (The space was rented out.) Emily and Katherine were running the show and doing a great job of making everyone's drinks. The Okinawa Black Milk tea with boba was good, but it tasted like a brown sugar milk tea so I'm not sure what is special about the okinawa sugar specifically. That aside though, I enjoyed my drink thoroughly. Not watery or too sweet. The matcha oreo latte was good, but needed more sweetness for my taste. The matcha was strong! This is a good option for someone who prefers a less sweet taste. I do wish it had more oreo too. There are BOGO deals at select hours and a student discount. There are many tables and games to play in the shop. I like the concept and consistent theming with the box cup shape. It's very cute and fun to drink from.
I only came here because TPumps was closed. The black milk tea with boba was so bland and not sweet at all. I asked for full sweetness, and could barely taste any sugar. In all honesty, this tasted like sink water with milk. I have no problem paying $6.50 for a good boba, but this felt like robbery it was so tasteless
What an underrated place for a dog friendly study place! I actually didn't like my drink the first time I came here but I wanted to give it another chance before I wrote a review and I'm glad I did because the drink was great (the second time around). First time around I got the phoenix oolong milk tea. I think my mistake was that I made it 25% sweet and it just didn't taste good/satisfying. I wish I just kept it at the original recipe or just 75% sweet. The second time around I got #3 on the most popular drink list which was some citrus fruit tea and I thought it was pretty good and refreshing! I forgot to adjust the sweetness level this time around which is probably why it was so tasty and sweet.. a little bit too sweet for me but it's fine because I poked a slightly bigger hole and just poured a bit of water into it which made it perfect. Overall, this place is pretty cool to hang out with friends, study, work, and or just for a drink. They have ton of board games you can play and lots of seating. The evening can get a bit loud on the weekends especially if kids are coming in for a board game night or the speakers are extra loud with rave music. The workers are nice and they allow outside food as well which is pretty cool since they don't sell food. LOVE that they are dog friendly so I just brought my dog and his little blanket to join me. Street parking is free right in front or to the side of the shop (usually pretty empty). Overall, awesome place! read more
This place is a hidden gem. I been going here since they first opened where they offered the reusable, plastic square bottles with every drink. Old Town Monrovia went from having zero tea places to having some of the best out there! It's very spacious and aesthetic here. Their cups are so unique and CUTE! It's a good place to get some work done (fast wifi) as well as just hang out with friends. Parking is lacking if you come at a busy time, but there's a big plaza across the street if needed. Their prices are fair compared to other places that are upcharging nowadays. My favorite drinks are the green milk tea, thai mik tea, and when it's in season, their watermelon green tea (unbeatable)! Drinks can be a little sweet, even if you lower it. Their boba is always made right though. Nice and not too too chewy! read more
Came to boba box, wife had a craving for boba, she's not a huge fan of boba but she really enjoyed the one she ordered. I got a galaxy box and for me it was good but I would have done 75% sweetness. The lady making the drink was very nice! The boba spot was nice and lounge comfy with some nice ascetic's. Would come again. read more
Never been here before and enjoyed the ambience. The boba was fresh and I liked that there were sweetness and ice options. Interesting flavors and drinks. The server was also patient while I made my selection. My only pet peeve is that I wish the front door would automatically shut when people open it. It was super cold tonight, so a lot of times when people would enter or leave the shop, they'd leave the door wide open, where we got up multiple times to close it. We were dining in, at a nearby restaurant then we decided to look for refreshing drinks. It was kind of late but it was Saturday night, so there was some hope. When we checked Yelp, We found Boba Box and it was just across the street from the restaurant. The place is spacious. They have multiple indoor seating. It has this relaxing vibe which is suitable for people to finish their work or for young people to hangout or to study there. We placed our order on a tablet. They called us, once the orders was ready. The service was very fast. The young men were very nice and friendly. We got ; Strawberry Matcha 50 % sweetnes and Strawberry Milk Tea 50% sweetnes too. The Strawberry Matcha was silky, rich with perfect sweetness for me. There was a well balanced taste between the Strawberry and matcha. I enjoyed both of them in every sip. I am glad we stopped by. It is a great place with great service, in addition to, it is nice they open late in the weekend. read more

Overall I give it a 3.5/5. You can order at the kiosk or at the counter although on the kiosk you have all the customization options. I got the Brown Sugar milk tea. I liked the flavor and the boba was really good. Great texture and you could taste the brown sugar in it. 5/5 I also got the bubble waffles and paid extra for ice cream and chocolate syrup on top. The waffle was lacking sugar/flavor and the chocolate drizzle was heavily concentrated in the middle so it was too sweet to eat the bottom half of it. The ice cream was just a basic vanilla flavor. 2.5/5 My friends got different drinks and they did not finish even half of theirs. They all agreed my brown sugar milk tea was the best in flavor. One friend got the tiger box and it just tasted like milk with a tiny amount of sugar(a small amount of sugar was drizzled around the cup). No flavor whatsoever, just mostly tasted like milk. 1/5 Another friend got the citrus sunset. I did not get to taste it so I cannot say how it tasted but he only took one sip. The decor is minimalist with some very cute picture worthy spots. I saw a restroom sign so I believe they have restrooms for customers. read more
I enjoyed the the different look of these boba cups. For some reason, drinking out of a squarish container made the drinking experience more fun. My husband and I ordered the Passionfruit Green Tea with boba and lychee jelly & Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba and lychee jelly drinks. There is only one size available but we both customized our sweetness level to 50%. My Passionfruit GT was pretty sweet still and I probably could have opted for 25%. They weren't that busy but we got our drinks within 5 minutes of ordering so they were very quick. The shop's space is surprisingly very spacious for just a boba drink place. Service was standardly decent. I would come back again! P.S. there is street parking only from what I could tell but we easily found a spot and it took us a minute to walk down. read more
My friend and I were looking for a place to play board games. This was the second place we went to cause the first place (Stinky Boba) did not have air conditioning. Not only was this place nice and cool, the drinks are great! They cooked their boba to perfection. They have plenty of seating. And great service! read more

Met up for a quick boba date with a fellow elite - haven't been in quite some time so was due for a return visit...we both tried variations of their strawberry milk teas - absolutely fantastic!! I had their regular strawberry milk tea and my friend had the strawberry milk tea with matcha. I had boba in mine and it was really good. Their milk teas are smooth and creamy and full of flavor! A lot creamier than others along Myrtle imo - and all the better for it too. I got mine at 50% sugar and it was still plenty sweet enough. Next time I'll drop it down even more. Their boba has a great texture - but is just a tad bland. I'm not sure if it was the boba or maybe the tea had such a strong strawberry flavor that it overpowered the boba. Either way I still loved it and will definitely get it again. They have the cutest living plant wall - great for the gram pics if that's your thing lol. Lots of tables and even games to play. Great views of the hustle and bustle of Foothill and Old Town Monrovia from all their giant windows. They have a kiosk at the entrance where you place your order and then they bring it out to the counter. They have seasonal specials that all looked delicious- but I couldn't really tell what was in them bc there were no descriptions anywhere - not even on the menu. Parking is all street parking but I've never had issues finding a spot. Love the cozy vibes and delicious teas - will definitely be back! read more

Boba Box is a spacious location that services many drinks, perfect for the work-from-home individual looking for a calm environment to crunch out projects. I visited on a weekend afternoon with a friend, both of us ordering the Okinawa Milk Tea, 50% sugar and light ice. Having not had Okinawa Milk Tea for years, this was a welcomed return for me. The tea was savory and lightly sweet - as expected. The sit-in experience was so relaxing that we ended up staying for almost two hours! Like other cafes catering to the younger generation, there are also areas stocked with games and walls with text for photo backdrops. 10/10 would return! read more

Really good tea spot. Prices are on the higher end ($6 average range), but you do get the nice aesthetics and some unique options. Note card only and all street parking but not on an overly busy intersection. We tried: + Yuzu yuzu: a fruity refreshing drink that's on the sweeter end with the honey. You do get the yuzu bits that adds texture even if you don't add toppings like boba. + Oreo matcha latte: definitely a nice dessert drink. The oreo is fairly crushed at the bottom, so make sure to stir well before drinking. The spot doesn't seem to get overly busy, so could be a nice spot to work or even play card games. They have a few games available like Cards Against Humanity, Uno, and Monopoly Deal. read more

I had been wanting to try this boba place for a while, but I would always go to my usual spots. Then, one day, my boyfriend and I were trying to find a place to work/do homework, but we didn't want to go to Starbucks. So we decided to stop by Boba Box and check it out. There's plenty of street parking. As soon as you walk in, there are two kiosks/tablets on the right side, where you can place your order. You can customize your drink however you want it. They do charge $0.50 if you order your drink with no ice. I found that to be a little odd. But okay, maybe because they have to fill it up more, idk. They're pretty quick with the orders. They have 5 tables and outlets so it's good for working or doing homework. They also have this cute little area in the back where you can take pictures. There's a few games you can choose from if you're just haging out. They do sell Shin noodles and Lay's (can't remember what else) for $4.00. I think that's a little too much for a bag of Lay's....lol. I have tried their Tiger Box and Brown Sugar Milk Tea (it needed a little more flavor). I do order my drinks with regular sugar, so I just think it needs a little more brown sugar taste. My boyfriend has had Strawberry Matcha Latte and Matcha Latte with Lychee (I think). He said they were good, I didn't try them. We have been here twice. The first time, it was on a Sunday afternoon, and it was a little busy. The second time was this past Friday, and it wasn't busy at all. Overall, teas are good, service is good, and restrooms are clean. read more

service: super friendly service! they also take orders online and ipads in the entrance for faster orders! parking: there are a few parking spots available around the sidewalks! interior: modern and extremely spacious! there are high seats available as well as table seats, great for group hangouts or for studying! there's also a small area with board games! health and safety: super clean! would you crave for it? absolutely! came here multiple times to grab boba and they never disappoint! they have a range of side toppings to choose from, their bobas were super chewy, even after i placed my drinks in my fridge overnight (i know i shouldn't have done this haha) but they still tasted amazing! if you are trying to find a creamy-milky drink, i highly recommend their thai milk tea and oreo matcha latte for those looking for a refreshing drink, their mango smoothie is very aromatic and well blended, tasted super great with their star-shaped mango lychee jelly! So glad that I found this boba spot! It is a bit out of the way for me, but I'm willing to drive here every once in a while because that's how good their drinks are. Their menu has a nice variety, including milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, coffee, lemonade, and many toppings. I tried the rose milk tea with boba, citrus sunset with lychee jelly, and lychee green tea with lychee jelly. For the rose milk tea, you can choose between a green tea or black tea base. I tried it with black tea and it was delicious. The flavor of the rose was light, which is just the way I like it. With the citrus sunset, I could taste both the grapefruit and the orange flavors. It had a good balance and I love that it comes with fruit slices. When I first visited, I was surprised at how big the store is. There are plenty of tables and chairs. There is also free wifi. The employee was friendly and brought my drinks out quickly. The cups that they use are nice and sturdy. It seems like a great place to hang out at. If this place was more convenient, I could see myself going here very often. read more

One of the boba shops that open later into the night nowadays, the drinks are decent sized and.... doesn't fit in some cup holders cause its square! They have a good amount of tables inside to just hang out if you want. Street parking I got the Matcha Oreo 50% sugar which was just enough sweet, considering i had oreo bits in it. #58 in my boba store expedition - and the saga continues! I am always down to try new boba spots and explore the local bubble tea store options. I've been focusing on trying all the coffeeshops in the area after first moving here, but now I'm returning to my first love of trying new milk tea stores and narrowing down my favorites. That being said, Boba Box has officially been added to my favorites list. Boba Box is a cute shop in Monrovia, on the corner of Foothill and Myrtle. There's no parking lot but street parking is plentiful and easy to find. The store itself is huge and spacious, and the ambiance is pretty on point. I've tried a few different drinks so far and the quality has been pretty good overall - not the best milk teas I've had but consistently good nevertheless. What sets this place apart for me is the cure packaging of the drinks. I love the box shaped cups, which is so different from most coffee/tea places. read more
YUM, YUM, and ! Everything here is SO delicious! I definitely recommend anyone looking for a really good boba spot. The staff here are always so friendly and down to earth. They're also very quick to point out recommendations or names of drinks. Their tiger box tea and Thai tea are classic options while they have other options that are tasty and aesthetically pretty as well. They have a clean establishment and they have an awesome photo wall that you can take one for the 'gram! I definitely recommend this as a place for good boba and just a casual spot to hangout with your friends! read more

Interior is cute and very spacious. This would be a nice study spot! Street parking was ample. I ordered the oreo matcha latte 50% sugar, less ice. The only redeeming factor for this drink was the oreo. I barely tasted the matcha. It mainly tasted like oreo and milk. Slightly disappointed as I expected to taste at least a hint of matcha, especially for a drink that costs $6.50. I ended up throwing away half my drink. I'm assuming they also didn't have the reusable cups since we just got the typical plastic cups. I would only come here again if I were in the area and needed a nice study spot. read more
Cool twist of a boba spot in north downtown Monrovia! Parking is street side, but can always park in the shopping mall across the street or in the nearby neighborhood. Love their interesting box shaped cups, good quality and could be reusable if desired. We tried their Matcha Oreo milk tea which compared to most others I've tried, had a lot more Oreo, yet also retained the matcha flavor- impressive! We also got their brown sugar boba which was solid. Definitely think they're a little on the pricier side but you can tell they use better/more ingredients and the containers/straws etc even are better quality than most. Also has a good area to study as well with wifi. read more
Tried to go here last December, but they were closed temporarily, bummer! Glad I got the chance to go again. LOVE the fact that they are open late, much different from the other boba places in the area. Very bright, well lit cafe with lots of seating and a nice photo op wall. Staff was very friendly and helpful with our order. I got the: Guava Green tea with Mango Star Jellies at 75% sweetness. -Even at this level of sweetness, the star jellies compensated and made the drink sweet, BUT yummy and refreshing at the same time. -Drink wasn't too tart either and the jellies had the perfect consistency. Very cute as well. I LOVE the container that the drinks come in and I'm glad they don't charge an arm and a leg to make up for the cost. PRO-TIP keep the little insert that comes on the inside of the lid. I accidentally just tore through it, but staff was nice enough to give me another. They have a 5 stars point system, just give them your number! Definitely want to come back to try their milk teas. read more
Boba Box is located in old town Monrovia, on the corner across from Yogurtland and across the street from the Von's shopping plaza. Street parking (free) is the only parking available. I decided to check out this tea house two Sundays ago. I ordered online, figured it would just be easier than to order in person and wait (same price as ordering person and no additional fee to order online). I ended up ordering: Black Milk Tea, $5- I ordered this drink for myself to be made with no ice and 50% sweetener. This drink came in a plastic reusable rectangular bottle which holds about 26 oz (I measured it). I thought it was funny that the straws they give you are barely peaking out from the lid and wished they had taller straws. Anyways, I was rather disappointed with this drink because it tasted as if the black tea used was over steeped, which resulted in a strong bitter taste. Rose Milk Tea, $5.50- I ordered this drink for my husband to also be made with no ice and 50% sweetener. Just like my drink, this drink was also bitter tasting, most likely due to being over steeped. ------------------- (Total= $10.50, tax included) When I came in to pick up my order, a friendly employee greeted me. He gave me my straws and placed my drinks in a plastic bag (he had asked if I wanted a bag). Please note that this place is dog friendly (as dogs are allowed to come in) and has a cute wall to take a photo with. But I don't think I will be back here. read more

Boba Box is a new bubble tea shop at the corner of Myrtle ave and Foothill blvd in Monrovia. It's inside was very spacious, clean, organized and well lit; atmosphere vibe was relaxing and welcoming with good music. Boba Box prioritize eco-friendly practices such as reusing our bottles and source our tea leaves from environmentally friendly partners. Their reusable bottles are BPA FREE and they use Soy Base creamers. Staff were amiable, competent and followed health protocol. Free Wifi available. Street parking only. Their teas were reasonably priced. I ordered the Citrus Green Tea with regular ice and 69% sugar. :D Service was moderately fastZ. Overall, I highly recommend this boba place. read more
