Always wanted to come here, but its at the very tip top of the SGV and I'm not in Monrovia on the regular so, since I had a SGV passport, I had a reason to stop by. I heard they also have surprise mini plushes in their cups, but I totally forgot to get one. The interior had a claw machine (which I used and won 2 things) and a play area for kiddos. I ordered the free milk tea and a galaxy box. Tea was good! Really wanna come back for that surprise plushie that comes in the bottom of the cup!
Great drinks in a friendly and chill environment. I love the refillable bottle (saves you $1). My weekly go-to boba place!
SGV Boba Passport x Boba Box. Wife and I redeemed the our free drinks and ended up selecting the Green Milk Tea & the Black Milk Tea. Orders can be do via kiosk but we had to get the stamps from the staff The drinks were done pretty fast. The style/shape of the cups are cool. The flavors were just ok for us. I think they were a bit watered down as it lacked enough sweetness. The location is cool however. There's many tables and free wifi offered. They have a claw machine and other toys and board games for customers to play. Ambiance is nice. It's worth a visit, IMO. ( ^_^)b
Came here to redeem an offer from the Boba SGV Passport with my husband. Offer: 1 free Milk Tea with boba. We were only given two options - Green Milk tea and Black Milk Tea. I redeemed the Green Milk Tea, my husband got the Black Milk Tea. They do offer milk substitutions, so we got ours with oat at no extra charge. This is located in the corner of the downtown area. The high ceilings give this a spacious feel. They also have several tables that could seat a minimum of 4; in addition to a long high-top table near the counter. They have games, puzzles, a claw machine, even a small artist table for the toddlers available. It's a good spot to hang out at. As for the drinks, I've read a few reviews saying the quality isn't as great as other spots. I do agree, mine tasted watered down. I will say the tapioca balls were actually good! They were pleasantly sweet and bouncy. If you have the boba passport, I would get the Black Milk Tea instead. We had to park up the street a little bit, not far from the business. It wasn't packed when we arrived on a Sunday evening. This place was okay for me. If I find myself back here, I would like to try their Yuzu Yuzu drink.
Came here to redeem our SGV Passport Boba. This place is close to my child's school so we came by to give it a try. Not bad! We had the Green Milk Tea with Boba. We ordered with the cashier to stamp our pass. Flavor of the tea was decent and the bobas were soft and chewy. Atmosphere is cool with a good amount of seating. Students get discounts and there are books, games and toys for kids.
First time visiting, found them through the SGV boba passport. It's spacious and clean with cute decor and friendly service. It's a great place to hang out with friends. There's lots of indoor seating, games and even a play area for kids. The boba was a little hard for my liking but I enjoyed the green milk tea. They have BOGO happy hour weekdays from 12p-3p. Every month it's a different tea, when we went it was Thai ice tea.
What a fun spot! Boba box is such a nice spot to grab drinks and hangout with friends and family. We tried the oolong milk tea, matcha latte, butterfly pea tea and mango smoothie. The mango smoothie was fruity and refreshing, and milk tea and matcha latte had good flavor. The mystery plush or squishy add-on is so fun and only $3! We love how there's so much seating and an area and lots of activities for kids. Definitely check them out if you're in old town Monrovia!

I got the brown sugar milk tea with boba ($7) to go. I asked for 75% sweetness and regular ice. I thought it was on the pricy side for the quality. The milk tea was moderately creamy and light on tea flavor. I appreciated its classic milk tea flavor, though it got a little lost the more I kept drinking it. As for the brown sugar boba, it was lightly sweetened. It was neither flavorless nor flavorful, if that makes sense. The pearls were chewy and softer than I prefer. Before leaving the shop, I admired the plant wall and light decoration (very Instagrammable). However, the music was too loud for my ears. I wouldn't be able to stay for an extended period of time.
Boba box offer drinks in a "box" shaped container. To order, you can do it directly at the front desk or at a kiosk by the door. The store is spacious, with plenty of tables and selective board games available. The drinks did not stand out to me as much, but I would definitely come back again.
Ambiance is everything here. When you walk in, there's a table with printed menus and an iPad to self-order. The menus have pictures of all the drinks so the visual aid is appreciated. After ordering, you can take a seat in the large space with plenty of tables. I like that there are board games provided, a touch screen game table, and even a kid zone. There is also a crane game and Photo Booth! The strips range $6-$8 but you can get a coupon when you order a drink. The staff is concealed in the back behind curtains and they only come out to serve drinks so the atmosphere feels like you can just hang out without being watched. They have fun snacks in the front for sale as well. Something cool about the shop is you can pay extra to put your drink in a surprise cup - the cup comes with a boba plush! I got a honeydew tea with boba and a green milk tea with boba. The honeydew wasn't too sweet and didn't taste powdery at all. The green milk tea did have a herbal taste and the boba was cooked well. The parking options seem to be street but also there's a huge plaza parking lot across the street that is easy. Bathroom was easy to find and was clean.
I experienced Boba Box last weekend as a guest at a private event. (The space was rented out.) Emily and Katherine were running the show and doing a great job of making everyone's drinks. The Okinawa Black Milk tea with boba was good, but it tasted like a brown sugar milk tea so I'm not sure what is special about the okinawa sugar specifically. That aside though, I enjoyed my drink thoroughly. Not watery or too sweet. The matcha oreo latte was good, but needed more sweetness for my taste. The matcha was strong! This is a good option for someone who prefers a less sweet taste. I do wish it had more oreo too. There are BOGO deals at select hours and a student discount. There are many tables and games to play in the shop. I like the concept and consistent theming with the box cup shape. It's very cute and fun to drink from.
I only came here because TPumps was closed. The black milk tea with boba was so bland and not sweet at all. I asked for full sweetness, and could barely taste any sugar. In all honesty, this tasted like sink water with milk. I have no problem paying $6.50 for a good boba, but this felt like robbery it was so tasteless

What a hidden gem I found! I had no idea that this boba place would be THAT good. This has easily become one of my top 5 favorite boba shops. I wasn't sure if this place would be busy at 9 pm... so ordered online for pick up, which was very quick and easy. It was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. The staff was really friendly and let me know that they were actually out of oolong for the night! They luckily had other teas for my order. I ended up with the Uji Matcha Milk Tea and Rose Green Milk Tea. The Uji Matcha Milk Tea was a bit more expensive, but pretty good! It wasn't chalky and had a great milky matcha flavor. The Rose Green Milk Tea was what really had me hooked! The drink has rose petals and a strong green milk tea flavor. The balance between tea, rose flavor, and milk was perfect! It was so addicting. If this boba shop wasn't so far away from me, I would be here everyday. The cups are cute, the shop is spacious, staff is friendly, and the tea is amazing. This place is super cute and so are their boba! Love how the cups are super unique and reusable. I stopped here with my friends before a long road trip heading up to the Bay. I ordered the Oreo matcha latte with brown sugar boba. It had a nice matcha flavor and I really liked the Oreo bits- I was surprised how they complemented each other! The boba was cooked well and was nice and chewy too. I think this is one of my favorite boba places down in SoCal, and I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area again. read more

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - boba was good texture but no inherent flavor. Ordered 25% sugar and it was good that it wasn't too sweet. Overall drink was average and not super memorable Ambience: 5/5 - box counter was an interesting design choice, very unique. Love the green plant wall and it made the store feel much more comfy. Very much enjoyed the vintage lights with modern clean lines and spacious environment. The windows are well tinted and the ambient music is not overwhelmingly loud. Service: 5/5 - only customer so they were very attentive. Offered sample of watermelon tea that was extremely sweet but you can really taste the fruit. They were very friendly and they'll make your day. Value for price: 4/5 - container was cute and interesting since it was more boxy. If you're in the mood for a boba, visit Boba Box for deliciously crafted teas and topping packaged in a reusable bottle! I work just down the street in Monrovia and saw this place open up back in 2020. I finally decided to try it with a few of my coworkers on a weekday - and I am so glad we did! They're located at the corner of E Foothill Blvd. and S Myrtle Ave. There is street parking down Myrtle Ave. Our cashier told us they "think outside the box" (get it? Because their boba comes in a box) and put their best ingredients in the box. They source their tea from environmentally friendly partners and use BPA-free reusable bottles and soy-based creamers. This selling point gives me more reason to come here over and over again and collect their cute Boba Box bottles to reuse. A total of 4 boba drinks come out to over $20, which is acceptable since the drink is customizable and comes in a reusable bottle. For my friend who was indecisive on her drink, the cashier was nice to answer all of our questions and give great recommendations. As for me, a person who has worked in boba places, made boba at home, and been a boba connoisseur since a very young age, I highly recommend coming here for a Green Tea with Aloe Vera! great new boba place to try! And great for IG photos It comes in a cute bottle. I talked to one of the workers and the bottle is meant to be reusable when you come back to visit for a percentage. since we're in covid that never happened. I got the wintermelon green milk tea since it was one of their top drinks.. It is different than what I usually get, but taste great. Definitely would come back to try other flavors. read more
Coming here was a great experience! It was very nice and the drinks were pretty good! We got to sit and it was all photogenic. Everything was pretty lively and straightforward. You walk in and go up to the cute little box counter and once you order you get a number and can sit anywhere in the shop. They have many toppings and choices from smoothies to milk teas and more! I will def be coming back here because the containers are so cute BUT NOT DISHWASHER FRIENDLY IF THATS NOT ALREADY APPARENT!!!! It didn't take too long for the drinks to be served and the lady was super nice too. Give this place a look and stop by to take photos! read more

No problem, this is a cute part of town, I'll take a walk. When the time came near I headed back to Boba Box, and one of the store employees actually came out to greet me and hand deliver our drinks. Boba Box is a drink shop that uniquely sells their drinks in a rectangular shaped cup. They offer classic teas, milk teas, special teas, matcha/coffee and also caffeine free drinks. Their milk is non-dairy; don't worry I asked to all my lactose intolerant friends.The prices of their drinks to from $5-6.50 without toppings. It's pricey, but worth it!! Continue to read why this is so. Drinks: I'm impressed. All of their uji/matcha drinks aren't powder based, but the real stuff! I ordered the uji green milk tea 1/2 sweet that if I were to redo it, I'd order it 75%. Their drinks don't run on the sweet side, so if you cannot stand sweetness, you're most likely to enjoy the drinks at 100%. My girlfriend ordered the matcha strawberry milk tea 100% sweet and it was really tasty. The drinks are given to you not mixed, so definitely give it a shake before putting your straw in otherwise you'll get a mouth full of strawberry juice, not speaking from experience. /: Also, the boba was warm when we received our drinks and it carried its own sweetness and excellent texture. One of the better boba I've tasted. Service: The lady behind the counter was helpful. She offered us to sample one of their passionfruit teas and answered all our questions. Our drinks were reasonably served on time. Parking: There is parking on the street directly in front of Boba Box. It is across the street from the Vons parking lot, so you can park there and cross the street. Overall: I normally don't give 5 stars to drink shops but Boba Box has my trust in the quality of their drinks. The drinks are prepared freshly, and they don't overpower their drinks with sweetness to cover up any inadequacies of the tea they use. Go! You won't regret it. read more
Located right next to old town Monrovia this place is pretty good! They have a yelp checkin for a free topping. I ended up getting a strawberry milk tea with 50 percent sweetness. It was really refreshing, and it comes in a cool square box cup. One thing to note is to lower the ice amount they charge extra. Good service and really cool shop with few picture areas. First off, major props to any business that opens up in the middle of a pandemic. I'm sure it's really hard considering all the challenges that we as individuals are going through already, let alone manage a business with ever changing rules on the daily. I frequent this area since I live not too far from here, and was excited to see on social that they had finally opened up. I remember the former business that was here, and let me tell ya...they've really updated the way this place looks! I love the separation between the guests and the ordering counter. It almost made me feel like I had walked into a store in the mall once entering. The green aesthetics and the neon signs here make it really photo-worthy for your boba drinks. I am a huge fan of their strawberry matcha latte, and would recommend this drink to anyone coming here. Their version of the tiger sugar milk boba is also really good, but be sure to shake it up before drinking it so you get the full experience. I can't wait until things are safe and I'm able to pop into a local boba and coffee shop to get my work done. read more
Easy ordering and easy pick up. First time trying Boba Box recently since we were in the area picking up dinner. Street parking is available as I don't think they have a parking lot in the back? We had ordered via Yelp their Strawberry Smoothie with Pineapple jelly and Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Not many places have multiple tasting jelly. I'm used to the lychee jelly flavor. What I like about this place is that the options and ordering process are easy. There's not many options to choose from which I think is great! Makes it a lot easier. Walking in was a breeze. Boba Box has that modern interior decoration. I was greeted as I walked in and picked up my order quickly. Drinks itself was great! Probably one of the better tasting strawberry smoothies I've had especially with the great tasting pineapple jelly! I didn't try their brown sugar milk tea as my wife ordered it but I was busy enjoying my smoothie. Price is good also which is worth it especially with the nicely designed box it came in. Was excited to try this place since it opened just a few months ago. The space is super cute & inviting. The packaging is unique with their square bottles. Most importantly the taste: the boba was hard & didn't have the hint of sweetness I like. I ordered rose milk tea with 25% sweetness because I do like to get the sweetness from the boba. Was just disappointed by how hard they were - for the price ($6) and the fact that boba is extra - was lacking in flavor. The tea itself was mediocre as well. read more
Need some good boba or drinks in the 626? Boba Box is one of the newest spots to open up in 626 and I must say I am a fan! I have been here now a handful of times and its been a hit for my fam bam. Go to drinks: *boba milk tea (hubby) *strawberry smoothie (my kiddos) *brown sugar milk with pudding (mines) I love that I can customize the sweetness level. You can order on their website ahead of time. Only thing is you can notate on the online order any comments. My hubby likes less boba so we end up just going there to order in store instead because of that reason. The drinks come in a regular shape so its harder to fit in all car cup holders. But I still love it. I definitely am a fan and will continue to come back. Esp, since there's something for each member of my family to drink. 2 thumbs up from this yelper! First time coming here from their recent opening. Right from the start, definitely seeing some Instagram photo ops. The aesthetics of the interior are amazing and great for photos. The drinks also look really pretty, especially in the cute box. Now this is the important part, the drink. Honestly, not too impressed. Disagreeing with the high reviews. Not saying it's disgusting or really bad, just mediocre, hence the 2/5. The boba was actually not bad, considering it's a boba shop it met the boba standards for sweetness and chewiness. The drink and flavour though, disappointed. The flavour was a little watered down, tasted kind of artificial too honestly. It just tasted like something you can make at home if you had the syrups they use. Not anything that made me impressed or "knocked my socks off" at all. That being said, the prices for these drinks are way too overpriced. I feel like majority of the price is paying for the packaging/box itself, instead of the actual drink. Don't know if I will be coming back here, with the mediocre taste, and overpriced drinks...They did say they will come out with new products on their menu including some food though. What brought me here was word of mouth by friends and their packaging. Im a sucker for boba packaging and I liked the minimalist look of it. I wasn't able to find parking but theres a lot of street parking when you make a left turn after Foothill. As for the drink I ordered: I thought it was alright. I got the uji matcha latte with 75% sweetness for myself and it tasted pretty underwhelming since the matcha wasn't strong but the boba was good! The price is pretty steep too since youre also paying for packaging. What i like about the store was how brightly lit and spacious it was. Although you can't sit by and chill I can tell this could be a good study/hangout spot. Theres a few decorative walls too to get your insta worthy photo in. Overall, solid place and I'll go back just to try more drinks. read more

A new boba place opened up in Monrovia on Foothill Blvd (across the street from the plaza with Blaze and Mooyah a little past Old Town Monrovia). There are quite a few boba shops that I drove past before getting to Boba Box, but I do think the unique shape of the cups and the variety of the drink menu help set aside this new teashop. I don't think there's any parking lot, but there were a few open spots in front of the shop. The space is actually fairly large - there were several tables already inside (and bar seating) and it seemed like some of the workers were still in the process of moving some couches inside once they allow for dine-in. They also have some crisp walls and cute signage that's perfect for photo opportunities! Prices of the drink are slightly on the pricier side, but on par with other tea houses that serve specialty drinks as well. They offer smoothies, matcha/coffee series, classic teas, classic milk teas, and specialteas. Prices vary from around $5-$6.50 and toppings are all $0.50 additional. Since they're still fairly new, staff seemed to still be undergoing training. The worker helping me was super friendly and patient as I took my time to order. Black milk tea with boba $5.50 - the standard boba milk tea. Not adjusting for sugar at all, the drink was super sweet. It didn't taste bad, but my family felt that we were missing the tea flavor. There was a lot of milky-ness that masked the black tea. Boba was cooked on point though. Super chewy with the right amount of sweetness. I enjoy sweet drinks, but I would advise to adjust to around 75% sugar so that it isn't overwhelmingly sweet. Cheese foam green tea with boba and 75% sugar $6.25 - I really enjoyed this drink! I was able to try a sample of their green tea and was impressed by how refreshing it tasted - adjusting it down to 75% sugar and adding boba was pretty good but still slightly sweet. I wasn't able to get that pureness of the tea that I usually like, so I'll probably go to 50% sugar next time. But that cheese foam - super creamy and fluffy without being too heavy. I didn't mix my drink at all and chose to take a few spoonfuls of that cream ... it was really good! And the boba had just the right amount of chewiness to give the drink some added texture. Highly recommend this for next time. My friends ordered three drinks - strawberry matcha latte (adjusted to 50% sweetness and less ice) $6.50, uji green milk tea with pudding (50% sweetness and less ice) $7.00, and a honey green milk tea with boba $6.00. Unfortunately they ran out of grass jelly, so pudding was substituted. From what my friends said, the honey green milk tea at regular sweetness level was super sweet while the strawberry matcha latte was decent. They did enjoy the uji green milk tea a lot - pudding was not too sweet and pretty good quality. I feel like drinks are made to-order which is why the wait time was a little bit longer (but I did order a ton of drinks). It seems like they wait until every drink in the order is ready before calling out the order to be picked up. The colors of the tea, the cute boxed cup, and the overall aesthetics of all the drinks really make for a super Instagram-able photo. They also have a rewards program where you get 1 point per visit. Once you hit 10 points, you get $5 off. Unfortunately cup did not fit into my cup holder, so it was a challenge to make sure the drinks didn't tip over when driving home! tl;dr - Cute new boba place that opened up in Monrovia! Quality of the tea is pretty good, and the overall look of the drinks make for an even better experience. They're currently in soft opening and not offering any promotions just yet. I recommend the cheese foam tea, but I do plan on coming back to try some of their other selections! I'd give the experience a 3.5, but rounded up to a 4 since I did enjoy my drink and have high hopes for this tea joint. read more
Super kind and helpful employees! Drinks were pretty basic, artificial, and too sweet in my opinion. The matcha was very powdery which I didn't really like and the drinks had a lot of syrup and sugar in them. Would maybe come again for the bottle though, they be cute. read more
Cute boba drink bottle?? I'm sold!!! My boyfriend and I came to try this place out since were suckers for cute things! Parking: I'm not sure they have there own parking lot, I didn't see one but we did street parking. This place inside is super spacious, cute decor and really clean! They have so much options of drinks and offer seasonal drinks as well! Drinks : my boyfriend ordered the Oreo matcha latte with 25% sweetness level. I ordered the uji matcha green milk tea no sweet. I'm a sucker for seasonal flavors but I didn't want to buy another drink so I just bought the pumpkin foam to try. I always order cheese foam or tiramisu foam in order places so pumpkin was something I wanted to try! The Oreo matcha drink was perfect for us! We don't drink sweets much so the sweetness of Oreos was a perfect match with the matcha latte. My drink was really good! Not too strong and not overpowering with milk! The pumpkin foam was really good! Not too sweet super cream and easy to suck through a straw! They don't have any other milk options. Price is a bit high for boba but your paying for the bottle and it's a pretty big tall drink! Service: amazing! New boba spot that just opened up and they're pretty great! I've seen them around on social media and yelp, so I made the time to venture out to Monrovia to give them a try. The restaurant has a large open space, which is essential during these covid-19 times. I ordered the Wintermelon Green Milk Tea and it was refreshing for a hot day. I've rediscovered Wintermelon recently and it's been one of my go-to flavors for boba drinks. Their boba was tasty as well, soft and chewy. Their cup design is pretty fantastic as well, nice look and certainly fits their 'Box' theme! I'll need to try more of their drinks, but so far so good! The only con is their location because I don't venture out to Monrovia much. However, if you're in this area of SGV, you got yourself an excellent boba place to frequent. read more
Great space, cute cups, a bit of a wait because their drinks are made to order, but very well worth it! You are able to call in to order in advance/ order online if you want to pick up. This spot is hard to miss since it's right at the corner. Plenty of parking near the entrance, but you might have to parallel park. Spacious and clean, more importantly they've set up the store so that it follows social distancing practices. Potential for a lot of photo opportunities once they add more. Service is good! The cashier was friendly and patient while I ordered a few drinks to try out. Watermelon green tea was suggested to me by my friends to get first. Super refreshing especially during this summer season. I definitely tasted more tea flavor than watermelon and it's not too sweet which is great. The Strawberry Matcha Latte caught my attention because a lot of my places are hit or miss with the strawberry puree. Great ratio of matcha milk tea with strawberry; can be on the sweeter side for some but I thought it was just right. My top favorite so far is the Yoyo Green Tea. Basically if you like anything yogurt or yakult flavored, this is it! Probably my go to drink when I come back here. I definitely want to give other drinks a try like the Taro Milk tea which I heard includes taro chunks, and I know I won't be disappointed! read more

This boba spot is very spacious and clean. We tried the Tiger Box, half-sweet with light boba, and Thai Tea Slush with grass jelly. The tiger box was great and not super milky. The amount of brown sugar caramel drizzled is just what I like, as I requested it to be half-sweet. The Thai tea slush was flavorful, and a generous amount of grass jelly was added. Preferences and requests are taken into consideration, which is a plus. This is an excellent spot for studying or hanging out with friends and family. Staff are efficient and attentive. read more

Checked out this new boba place in Monrovia, pretty good for my first visit! Since it's new, they're still working on getting new items onto the menu. Today they launched their croissants. I tried the uji green milk tea and Oreo milk tea. I liked how chewy the boba was and it was flavored well. I really liked my uji green milk tea, it was matcha in addition to green milk tea. Overall, I thought it was a little more expensive than the average boba place but I'd still come back to try more drinks. read more

BobaBox is the absolute best!! We held our baby shower here last weekend and all of our guests had such a great time. Leo and his staff were so wonderful to work with, extremely responsive, and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The space is huge too and so easy to decorate with its high ceilings, tables, chairs, couch, and well-decorated walls (green foliage!). Not to mention they have delicious drinks and mochi donuts made-to-order. My friends and I are from the SGV and know our boba, so we were all very pleasantly surprised to find that BobaBox's drinks were so good! Super cute and aesthetic boba shop I came across while walking through Old Town Monrovia! This spot is picture perfect for all your IG needs and is spacious inside as well. Great place to catch up with friends! The actual drink container was what caught my attention and led me into the store. The "boba box" the drinks come in is just too cute to pass up. My friend and I ordered Thai tea and milk tea with pudding. Unfortunately, the night we went, the store was all out of pudding. Bummer! We ended up getting boba instead which was warm and chewy (mmm!). Teas had the right amount of sweetness and they were thoroughly enjoyed. The prices weren't too bad either. Very solid boba! I like that it's a little different too. I got the lychee green tea and it was good :) Placed my order on the kiosk and service was fast. The inside was nice, not too busy when I was there. read more
Disappointing that they were out of oolong and cheese foam when we visited but overall, we were happy with our choices. The Thai tea at 50% sugar is still plenty sweet, especially with the added pudding. The uji matcha latte was perfect at 50% and had a really nice roasty flavor. The girls were very friendly. One of them actually came outside to let us know we could bring our dog in when she saw us deliberating over the menu outside! Very spacious setting, and light and airy inside. read more

Where is the bike parking located?
You can park your bike along the street of the store
Can you reuse the cup or am I always getting a new one every time you order? Looking to reduce plastic.
Hopefully things have changed but when I went there in October 2021, they won't allow reusable cups, not even their own boba box square container! =(

Not opened yet. Currently closed for not having a public health permit.

The Brown Sugar Milk Box is caffeine free (the Brown Sugar Milk Tea has caffeine).
Is there an almond or oat milk option for milk substitutions?
No, no almond or soy right now. They said their milk teas are made out of a non-dairy creamer
Do you use organic tea leaves, organic matcha and organic milk for your drinks, just curious?
Yes! I asked and they do use organic ingredients for all of their variety of drinks.
