This boba shop is the most consistent and the place we always head back to. The employees are always so nice and apologize for the wait even though we'll wait for these boba drinks any time. Quick, easy, not too sweet drinks. No fufu fancy drinks here. Menu is straight forward. ONLY DRIVE THRU. Hence the name "express." Even though there's a long line of cars sometimes we never had to wait more than 15 min. They also open late too until midnight which is a great late night dessert run. Hokkaido milk tea and the messy brown sugar are my favorites. Boba is fresh. If you want fruit, the strawberry yogurt blend is bomb. We've had their fried snacks also, I recommend their popcorn chicken. Don't waste your time going to any other boba place. Trust me, I have gone to plenty since I've moved in the area and been disappointed. Just go here. You won't regret it. read more

If you're looking for a quick go-to-boba place then visit Boba Ave Express in Arcadia! ^_^ The drive-thru experience is super convenient and unique--perfect for when you're on the go but still want quality boba. Ordered the Cheese Uji Matcha Tea Latte, which was good! The matcha was rich and smooth, with the cheese foam adding a good twist. The Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea was just as impressive, with deep, caramel-like flavor from the brown sugar. Service was quick and friendly, making it an all-around great experience. Update: I looked up a few comments. I am glad that some people confirmed that the recipe has changed!!!! Boba Ave used to be one of my favorite boba shops if not the most favorite. But, I guess it's no longer this case. The milk tea tasted different now and the boba is not good either. Compared to one they used to make, the new taste tasted so like powder making milk and really not good. The boba used to be sweet and chewy, but now it is very firm and tasteless. For those who used to drink boba ave, I wonder if you have the same thoughts. I didn't mean to downgrade boba ave. But I really want the owner to notice this and improve if they can. --------- After I tasted, it was so disappointing that I had to make a call. The boba wasn't even eatable (very very undercooked). The milk tea was so watery. I called the shop. I asked why.. They were very nice to exchange one with me. I was very disappointed and willing to give them one more chance despite the waiting line!!! I wanted to check out Boba Ave Express for a while, since it's rare to see a fast drive through boba store. Usually I would see a line of cars late at night with people trying to get their Boba fix. I got the chance to try them on Monday afternoon, there wasn't a line. Food: I got the kiwi grape jelly tea that's spring time limited addition drink. I didn't know what to expect of kiwi flavored but it was quite nice tangy with sweet flavor. Service : Boba came out quickly, and all you had to do was drive up to order, pay, and pick up out of your car window, which is very convenient. Ambiance: They had some outdoor seating next to the building, which was a small kitchen. I don't think I would use the seating, but having a drive-through Boba shop is great, and I think I'll come again sometime! read more

We stopped by on a weekday night because we were craving boba and saw this place had really good reviews. We ordered the strawberry mango green tea, Thai milk tea, popcorn chicken and French fries. The strawberry green tea was okay, it had pieces of mango and strawberry but both were bitter. The boba in both drinks was superb it wasn't hard like other places. Their boba itself is a good size and it is on the chewy side! Now for the food items we got both on the mild spice level and let me tell you for mild, the definitely had a kick! The biggest reason they do not get 4/5 stars is because their drive thru service takes an eternity. I understand they are busy, but why offer drive thru if it is going to take 30+ minutes. While you are waiting you get to see a pretty mural which makes it aesthetic, but they do need to work on making the drive thru faster! read more

My 2 star review is solely because the wait time was beyond long & unacceptable! I literally had to wait 30 mins today (1-20-25) for 1 drink since it was just me in my car. I debated if I should order popcorn chicken to try but as I realized how long it even took to get to the order here station I just ordered a drink. I waited so long that I was able to post things on instagram. Had I known the wait was ridiculously long I would have went to Sunmerry which was the next block over. The reason for not going to Sunmerry initially was because I did not want to get out of my vehicle. Well that was a big mistake as I would have saved time had I gone to Sunmerry. I will say the drink I ordered, peach green fruit tea was tasty. I would have given 4-5 stars had it not been for the very poor & extreme slowness of their drive thru. I would go back on a very slow day or right when they open. read more

In the past this place has been good but tonight it was awful. I ordered the jasmine green milk tea and it was overly sweet, like they had put double the amount of syrup they're supposed to. Also the Thai iced tea we got was in this paper cup instead of plastic, and when we asked why the drink was hot (because hot drinks usually come in these paper cups), they told us it was iced. When we drank the Thai iced tea it tasted weird like they probably made a hot drink by accident and decided to just put ice in it real quick. Also the paper cup is already started to get soft and mushy. Both drinks are awful tonight and we won't be going back. read more

I went back here to give this place a second chance and everything was delivered to standard and beyond. I got the cheese foam uji matcha tea latte with honey boba this time and it was very good! Just a bit on the sweeter side. If I frequent this place, I'd definitely recommend the Hokkaido milk tea to start and the cheese foam if you want something more fancy. The cheese foam is very creamy and pairs well with the sweeter drink. The boba texture is still on point and it was not diminished despite mentioning that I had a bad experience the last time. I came here yesterday after dinner and I saw the pictures about this location having a drive thru and my friend and I knew we had to check it out! You order at the first window when you go through the drive-thru and they have the menus displayed on screens with all of their drinks and food. I got their brown sugar milk tea while my friend got the taro milk tea. After we paid, we went to the 2nd window where we waited for our drinks which only took about 5 minutes which was fast! We both enjoyed our drinks and I will say my brown sugar milk tea was fantastic. The boba tasted fresh and had good texture and the milk tea was not too sweet which I liked. You can your drinks adjusted while you order them. I am looking forward to coming back in the future to try their food and other drinks! The boba has gotten really hard! And it's sad for me to write this because I really like this spot. I always come here because the service is good and fast. It's the closest place to my house and I do like how it's open so late. However! I went twice in a week and both times, the Boba was inedible. I even went back to switch it out but it was still a little hard :( I also wish they had nondairy options as Latinos and Asians in 626 are lactose intolerant so it just makes sense...business wise. read more

Don't be fooled be the EXPRESS in their name! Go in if you want something here! Don't use the drive thru! The drive thru is not convenient! Literally, defeats the entire purpose. Saturday night review of the drive thru line. Was the 6th car in line. The average car wait time today is 5 minutes, so estimate the time before waiting in line. There is an order window and a pick up window. There's a wait to get to the pickup window. So people can't get to the order window. I'm not understanding how come it takes this long to make drinks. I've never waited this long for drinks before. Ordered the peach and passion fruit green tea with brown sugar boba half sweet and the Hokkaido Milk Tea. Weird. The guy literally says hi, hands the drink, then closes the window. Haha what customer service? Are these robots? Lackluster attention to detail. Boba straw for a topping less drink. Tastes ok. Wouldn't mind having these drinks again if someone got it for me, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for this again. This was my 3rd try waiting in the drive thru. Extremely cute concept with the drive through option which made me want to give it a try while running errands! I popped in and asked for no ice, half sugar, jasmine milk tea! I hate drinks that are too sweet and this was it. It has the nice milky flavor but omg if this was half sweet i cant imagine what full sweet is... So i went home and added so much water... eek! Why the mediums don't have lids anymore?

Because we redesign the cup and redesign the cover to make it more fit with each other. This kind of lid is made to open easily just like yogurt lids so you can drink or eat the cheese foam.

Half sweetness was already plenty sweet for me, I can't imagine how sweet this would've been at full sweetness! I was pretty full from lunch, so I sipped half the drink slowly that day and kept the other half in the fridge for the next day. It was just as good!

Boba Ave Express is one of my favorite tea houses in the arcadia area. Yes, there are many and many and many of boba shops and speciality tea cafes, in fact it's almost endless and around every corner here. However after trying out so many of them, I would still stay that this place is one of the best around! They truly specialize in teas and are masters of making it. The atmosphere of the place is also really old school. It is one of the best around if you want to sit down with your laptop to work or study or smoking. This place truly has any sort of liquid drink for everyone. Even if you don't particularly like tea or boba, they offer a large variety of other drinks like, smoothies, yogurt drinks, juices, and even toast and actual food! There's something for everyone here, and it makes for a great place whether you come by yourself or with friends. WiFi is super fast which is a big bonus! I was looking for a nearby place to tune into my video meeting. I totally was unaware that there was wifi here, I was just into the fact that it seemed to be close to the neighborhood. When I walked to it, I was like, whoa this place is a drive-thru! Not only that, there is outside seating and a really clean, modern looking interior already decorated for Christmas oh, how cute. I didn't know what to get, being my first time here, but the signs for organic milk were really appetizing... I picked up a menu from a farmhouse mailbox, very pleased to see Hokkaido milk tea. The snacks looked very tempting as well. One iced drink with a side of seasoned fries for me. I was able to listen to my meeting with no problems as the volume is not overwhelming on the inside of the building. There was no competition for tables or chairs and I had a great conversation with Diana who helped me with the WiFi code. Not the biggest select of drinks but they narrowed it down to a few good choices. The drink I orders was mediocre but good at best. What really gets to me Is the design of customer flow through the drive through. It's like helping one customer at a time. It doesn't seem like they put much thought of how to design a drive though. On a Friday night you can be waiting in line for over an hour and only 6th in line. Look at how in and out does a drive though. They have an employee outside taking orders and getting people out fast. If the building had one side taking orders and the other side was for picking up orders. That would be better, but it's not in this case. Your litterer waiting for the person in front of you to order and then waiting for them to get their drinks. But it's a really nice atmosphere and nice looking place. I just wish they thought of making it function better. read more

BAE is my favorite place to go to study and hangout. Parking is Super easy to find (there's extra parking behind the building in the back). They have a big variety of food and drinks that are not pricey. We ordered a honey green tea . You can upgrade your drink to a large for small amount of money. The honey green tea wasn't overly sweet and was still really cold even when I ordered it with less ice, which was nice. The pop chicken was also good, it had a amazing flavor and juicey taste. Drive thru is amazing.Came today for the dirty milk tea. what a rainy day today!! I mainly come here when I need to study or for the drive thru.It can get quite busy in the late afternoon to night, so I usually like to come in the morning to early afternoon when it's still quiet to study. Ordered a Hokkaido milk tea tonight with 50% sugar & light ice today as a little dessert after dinner, made sure to have them adjust the sugar level and ice level before I paid because I can't have my drinks too sweet, and wasn't in the mood for anything too cold, yet the drink tasted like liquid diabetes and the ice filled half my cup. Not even trying to purposely give a bad rating but just hoping that this review will spark some changes here! I don't know if the barista didn't calculate the sugar levels right or just doesn't know how to make drinks but in case of unhappy customers in the future, I seriously hope the baristas working in the back take customers orders respectively and responsibly, and learn to do their job right, especially for a simple request of lowering sugar levels and ice levels. read more

Honestly after looking it up on yelp, I did not have high expection for this place. I thought it was the closest to my workplace so I'd just grab a drink and go. I WAS WRONG!! They normally open at 11am but they offered to make me my drink before that so I wouldn't be LATE! The girl was also very nive and sweet too! FYI If you come too early dont expect to get boba CAUSE they make it fresh every morning! I didn't mind that, and thought it was very nice of them to make it fresh(alot of the other places have left over boba from the night before). I got one of the messy milks with lychee jelly, and I LOVED it. I have never written a review before but is glad to do so for this place. Waited 30 minutes in the drive thru with around 5 cars ahead of me. Avg 6 minutes per car. Ordered their house milk tea regular sweetness. They say I could try it and if I don't like it, I can bring it back and they'll remake it. Made a mistake and didn't try it at the pick up window. I would have asked for a refund. Didn't drink it til I got home. First of all, the drink itself is too sweet. I'd recommend 50% for those ordering this drink. Second of all, the milk tea tasted powdery?? Weird because they told me they blend their teas rather than shaking. Third, the boba is mushy and grainy. I also found a strand of hair wrapped around it. This place deserves 0 stars for ruining my car. Came here for dessert after dinner and who knew this trip would cost me a fortune. Ordered a brown sugar milk tea and a Thai tea. They helped to put my drinks in a cup holder which I placed behind my seat in the back of my car. Just got home and noticed that the brown sugar milk tea spilled all over my car floor with the thai tea leaking in the bag. Never had this happen to me at any other boba shops before considering how lids are supposed to be sealed shut. Their cheap foil lids don't even seal properly. This is definitely going to leave a stain. Interior cleaning gonna cost around $100. Who's paying. Their drinks weren't cheap either. Two drinks came out to around $13. read more

I was debating on giving a 3 or 4 for this review. This place is good but is always inconsistent. Some days my drink taste like condensed milk, other days it's perfect. I always order medium spicy fries and sometimes it's super spicy, sometimes it's mild. There's always a line going out into the street so it's for those who are patient and can wait 20 minutes in line. My favorite part about this place is that they have a drive thru. The workers are usually nice. Overall I would recommend this place. I hope they see my review and find a way to make everything more consistent. They truly thought about the wait and placed edgy wall arts and graphics so we may feast our eyes as we wait for our boba and Taiwanese snacks to be ready (July 25th). We came back 3 more times after our first visit and loving their mango yoghurt blended, jasmine tea (no milk) with crystal boba. This is my first time to try this boba ave Arcadia because they have a drive through!! The Rose Green Milk Tea was one of the first drinks I tries when I first time come here. It was really good and it has a strong flavor to the drink. I have been to many boba shops and tried rose milk tea but I think here is best! You've got to try it! For the other drinks is Hokkaido matcha. The matcha flavored is very good, this is different startbucks matcha, and the matcha mixes really well with the sweetness of the Hokkaido. If you are a fan matcha, I'd say get this drink! I'm pretty sure all their 5 star reviews are fake.. if you actually look at all their profiles and read their reviews you can see that they all comment about the great service which they do not have. During a visit, my friend found pieces of hard white plastic in his drink, which is concerning for safety and quality. After contacting them, they promised a refund, but even after several weeks and a follow-up visit, the refund was not processed, leaving the issue unresolved. Additionally, the quality of their popcorn chicken is inconsistent; sometimes it's enjoyable with large pieces, but more often, it consists mainly of small, less appealing scraps. I waited 40 minutes just to get to the ordering window and have them tell me that their internet was cut off and that they were only accepting cash? I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with boba and it was definitely not worth the 40 minutes I wasted in the damn line. I don't understand why they even have a drive through because their system is so inefficient and if they have a manager he/she probably sucks at their job! If McDonalds can do it why can't they?? Actually tasty enough to make you forget you're drinking it in what appears to be an abandoned shed. Service is... well, let's call it leisurely. As in, you might have time to write a novel between ordering and receiving your food. But honestly? If you're not in a rush and you've accepted your fate as a hermit in the wilderness, it's totally fine.

Just sweet enough and bouncy so def tastes freshly made. I also really like their unique cup it's very cute. And it still fits in a regular cup holder !!! This place is worth a visit just for the ambiance and they also sell cake lol you can really feel the thought they put into their decorations.

Overall, the drinks were very good, but service and staff was absolutely terrible. The female staff with the pink colored streak hair on one side of her head is full of herself. In front of customers, she is heard talking poorly of other coworkers (who were not working at the time) behind their backs, which is quite unprofessional. Wait until your meetings with management to discuss your concerns. One the drinks I ordered was the Signature coffee. At 2pm, they apparently "ran out." I was told it would take 15 minutes to make a new batch, so I opted to wait. 20 minutes passed, other customers have come and gone, so I decided to go to the front and ask for an update. The same pink streaked hair staff said, "we're out of coffee. It will take 12 minutes." I told her I am not understanding how the initial "15 minutes," after 20 minutes of actual waiting equates to another "12 minutes." She just stared at me blankly and then offered to substitute my drink for no additional charge. I verbally told her to just sub it to Tie Guan Yin Fresh Milk, no sugar, no ice with QQ jelly. After my order was ready, it's a good thing I double checked my drinks. Guess what, the Tie Guan Yin Fresh milk substitute drink did not have any QQ jelly. I then had to go back in to request for it to be added, which of course, the same gal scoffed at my return. It was very, very annoying to say the least. After they fixed my drink, that same pink hair girl said, "sorry" in a ingenuine way. Don't say sorry if you are not going to mean it. My experience with this staff really left me with a sour impression of TP tea. If it weren't for their delicious drinks, I'd never come back again. 1. Traditional Milk Tea with QQ noodles and coffee jelly (5/5) The black tea flavor was super rich and the milk made it pleasantly creamy and smooth. We were glad to have gotten it with no sugar because the added toppings added enough sweetness without making it overly sweet. The QQ noodles were very QQ (aka, chewy) and the coffee jelly complimented the milk tea flavor well; adding a bit of coffee-ness. 2. Velvet Snow Jasmine Fresh Milk (4.5/5) I got it with no sugar and with added tea jelly. The Jasmine tea flavor had a very strong Jasmine flavor. Not sure what "velvet snow" means because it was not any different than their regular milk tea drinks. It's not extra smooth or frothy. Note, for their velvet snow drinks, the lowest sweetness adjustment is 50%, which I felt it was a bit too sweet. The tea jelly was light in tea flavor and pleasantly chewy. 3. Velvet Osmanthus Fresh Milk (4.5/5) Same like the Velvet Snow Jasmine, but just with Osmanthus flavor. The Osmanthus flavor was robust and quite noticeable. I'll give them props for making their flavor rich and standout. I added Aiyu jelly, which had a bit of a citrusy note to it. 4. Tie Guan Yin Fresh Milk with QQ Noodles (5/5) Another rich and bold tea drink with creamy milk. The QQ noodles were super fun to eat. TP Tea Management: please work on training your staff to have some customer service.

It's tucked into a strip mall in El Monte near Ocean Bo and Corner Beef Noodle House. I got the Taro Boba Milk with whole milk, and I love that they use actual crushed taro instead of that artificial purple powder. The boba had the perfect amount of sweetness, firmness, and bounce. The guy with glasses working there was super nice and apologized for the wait. There were about 15 people in the shop, including a larger group, and he was handling the kitchen, drinks, and register all by himself, so the wait was totally understandable. Really glad I found this spot. With so many boba places in the SGV, this one definitely stands out, and I'd happily come back!

Popcorn chicken 5/5 Flavorful, tender, crsipy Fried tofu 3.5/5 Flavor on point, crispy, different from the usual fried tofu. Most fried tofu boba places uses a pre-fried tofu and then fry that. This place uses like a rice flour coat and soft tofu, like in chinese sot down restaurant. This makes it really crispy and not dry like other places. If you eat it right away within the first 1hr, the score jumps up to 4/5. Once it cool down and you try to heat it up, it tastes powdery because the coating is soft and not crunchy anymore. Mixed fruit tea with chia seed 3.8/5 Kinda felt tricked. I was thinking mixed fruit as in a mixture of fruits, not 1 type of fruit (lime), mixed in with the tea. Should be called lemon/lime tea. Besides that, I have to say, it was really good. I would give it a 4.3/5, but was disappointed at the time, that it wasn't a mixed fruit. 5/5 during hot days. It was so refreshing, the flavor was so on point. The tea with a slight hint of lime, was so simple and yet, hit the spot, when you're hot amd thirsty. Matcha with cream brule 3.8/5 Will receive a higher score depending on what you like. When I order matcha drinks, I like the matcha taste. Unfortunately or fortunately depends on your taste the brule kinda takes over the taste. If you like that brule taste and a slight taste of matcha, then this drink is a 4.2.
