We drove past Bob Evans last night as we crossed over from West Virginia. Mrs. K. said that this was what we would have for breakfast today and so we did. After spending the night in the campervan nearby, we were here at 7am for their opening. The layout is the same as ever other Bob Evans and the restaurant was quiet this morning. With coffee started, we ordered breakfast that took about 20 minutes to be prepared. I guess they were starting from scratch today. French Toast for Mrs. K. which she enjoyed. A big spicy omelet for me that was also delicious. It would have been nice if the biscuits arrived first so we had something to start with during our wait. Easy to pay and be on our way. Biscuits were hard, replaced with what I feel were just microwaved to soften. First batch clicked on my plate and refused to melted my margarine. Blah! Not at all the restaurant chain it once was, not much to choose from to eat here at this exit ..... locals and passing tourists who don't have to return are keeping them in business. Salad was watery, poppy seed dressing was tasty. Pork tenderloin over breaded and tasty more like breading soaked in gravy. Oddly they serve it with chicken gravy, go with the white gravy. Pot roast was dried up and our guests would not send back, but we suffered along with the complaint along with thier disgusted taste buds. Slow service and you can decide, maybe it is hit or miss. I got tartar suce which I never asked for instead of the lemon it was supposed to come with my carrots came 10 minutes after my meal the rolls came 15 minutes after placing the order people who came in after us got their food before we did and they ordered after us and it took 30 minutes after a couple left their table for it to be cleared and an additional 15 before it was cleaned this location needs to improve especially since they weren't even busy read more

On a Sunday evening, we stopped by as we're driving through town. We've eaten here before and it's been quite good. Not this evening. The server was wonderful. But the cook was churning out inedible meals. Red flag, I wish I had gone into the bathroom before I ate. Both of the restrooms were out of soap and paper towels. So much for employees washing their hands before returning to work. Bob Evans about the same everywhere and it was okay. A little dirty dining room and the waitress was very slow. She didnt want to be there and you could tell it. Tony went with a typical breakfast of eggs, sausage, hash browns and biscuits and I did one egg with ham and toast. He had coffee and milk and ordered unsweet tea with lemon. Wishing by the temp of the air conditioning in the dining area I had chosen hot tea. I was freezing and it was truly uncomfortable. The food was okay, the wait time a little long. For the third time we have gotten take out, our order was either wrong or incomplete. We ordered the pot roast dip sandwich with a salad and mashed potatoes and gravy. Not only did we not get the dip for the sandwich, they also forgot the mashed potatoes and gravy. I would highly recommend if you order take out don't use curbside pickup and go inside and have them double check your order. read more

We have been patrons of Bob Evans for many years ( more than 20) and have had both quality service and product on most visits. I am very sorry to report that our last visit to the Gallipolis location was a true disappointment. totally due to mismanagement. The diet Pepsi served was flat, uncorrected after a second serving with the excuse that the CO2 had issues. I ordered the Cod which was covered in oil, unable to be consumed. At checkout the bill included all items, after complaining to the manager on duty my bill was reduced by the cod dinner. Since this part of the meal , I requested further reduction of the bill, the manager said that she could not do this on her own, asked her to call her supervisor and she refused, all the time with an attitude. Asked when the manager was on duty she refused to tell me, asked for her name and she refused to tell me . With many years both as a patron and a restaurant manager I can say with conviction that the manager on duty was the most unprofessional I ever experienced, as well as totally out of the loop in the operation of your facility. We will return to the restaurant again sine we have had many quality experiences, if this had been our first it would have been our last, just hope that we never experience such a unprofessional manager ever again, she needs to be retrained or removed to save the reputation of the location, I will insure all family and friends know about our experience read more

Terrible service. This place used to be great but those days are gone. The staff was pretty pathetic and looked like they just got out of rehab. They simply didn't seem to care about their job. Several things on the menu weren't available. I'll never go back to Bob Evans again read more

There front of house is an absolute joke, mainly their hostess Tara. This girl refused to acknowledge the people walking in, like if she ignored us for long enough we would just disappear. 15 minutes of just standing there before anyone acknowledged me or the other customers waiting, there was at least 12 people there waiting to be acknowledged. 20min wait for our food on a non busy late Sunday afternoon. Maybe a handful of tanles seated. I asked for a refill on my cappuccino amd it never came, 30min went by and nothing. The menu and table card says bottomless beverages, clearly they're not. The kids mac and cheese was maybe a cup, my 8 yr old expected more. My blueberry crepes didn't have much taste except the thawed frozen berries, not worth the calories. Kids pancakes were good and plentiful, non of their drinks were refilled either. $31 for the total so I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Ribs were horrible, dried out, almost jerky. Mashed potatoes were dry and biscuit was hard as a rock. Manager more worried about getting off shift than customers experience. In Ohio Bob Evans is an institution, but this location needs more than a front end make over it needs new management. read more

We walked in and walked up to the host stand. The hostess immediately noticed us and walked over to seat us. We sat down and our server immediately came by to greet us and take our drink order. I have loved Bob Evans since I was a child, but I'm never eating at one again. I was just served *raw* chicken, not just pink, totally uncooked except for a sear on the outside. Unfortunately it was on a sandwich and I ate a bite before I realized. The waitress was attentive and very apologetic. I replied "It wasn't your fault, you didn't cook it. In fact no on did!" Not clean, from the first cough into the hand by the hostess who then grabbed the sticky menus, who walked me over the filthy carpet and sat me down at a table with debris under it and dirt on windowsill, to the dirty spoon in my hand wrapped silverware.. Cold broccoli, overcooked salmon. At register, same hostess asked me how everything was. I replied could be cleaner. No response, not I'm sorry. Not let me talk to a manager. Not we were really swamped right before you got here. When she handed me receipt, no thank you for spending money here. As a business traveler, I eat three or four meals out a week. I was born and raised here, always loved the food and have many memories going to Bob Evans on Sunday after church. Since Bob died, it's become more commercialized, the food has gone down hill MAJORLY, and the prices have gotten ridiculous. It's sad that I can't relive the memories with my children.
