We were in town visiting the Mothman Museum so when we saw that Rio Bravo offered Mothman themed dishes, we had to try them! We ordered the Mothman Burrito and the Mothman Chimichanga and I would have loved to try the Mothman margarita as well but we had to order to go and I was driving. We were really happy with the food. My husband had the shredded chicken Mothman burrito and they use a queso and tomatoes to decorate the top and extra tortilla to make the wings. The burrito had good flavor but it wasn't overpowering and you could really taste the chile verde. I thought I had just ordered myself a small chimichanga but it actually turned out to be a dessert chimichanga and I could not have been more excited. It was like a chocolate banana crepe with cinnamon syrup. It was super delicious and the prices here are so reasonable! They also gave us some chips and salsa and the salsa was peppery with a roasted flavor and just the consistency that we like. Way to tap into the market of knowing how to get travelers into your restaurant. Who doesn't want a MOTHMAN margarita with big res eyes and wings. Was it delicious, nope (kinda weak and grape like) who the heck cares, it was full of character. Who doesn't want a MOTHMAN chimichanga dessert with red eyes, a smile and wings that was filled with Nutella and banana... yes, delicious. Food was great actually, they even have MOTHMAN entree, went off script for the mean and everyone had hot tasty eats, with a big shout out to the in-house tamales. Located in the downtown where lots of things touristy keeps the area going, but locals know and tourists should not miss out. Service was friendly and hopefully that MOTHMAN stays happily in his own airspace. Tragic loss to those in 1967, however, with the continued story telling it keeps memories alive and in this case brought us to some good local eats. read more

Delicious and inexpensive! I was looking for an easy lunch before stopping in to visit my shiny metal friend nearby, so I checked out Rio Bravo. The young man working as server greeted me and let me sit wherever I'd like then quickly came to bring me chips (fresh and hot) and salsa (fresh and tasty). For my entrée, while I was tempted by a Mothman burrito (especially due to the amazing art of it in the window), I went with a vegetarian plate with an enchilada, burrito, and tostada. The tostada was good, and the burrito and enchilada were great -- the enchilada sauce especially. It really hit the spot as a great "Americanized" Mexican meal. I was pleasantly surprised that the meal and drink came to less than $15, too. Overall, the food is good and reasonably priced, the service is lovely, and the Mothman inspirations are adorable. read more

While staying down the street at the Lowe Hotel there were incredibly few options for dinner, unless we wanted to drive across the river into Ohio so we decided on Rio Bravo. We were greeted immediately and ordered a few Coronas. Then on to the main course of Steak Fajitas & the Enchilada platter. Both were good although they were just slightly on the bland side but the great service that we recieved & the nice atmosphere more than made up for that. Rio Bravo 2 is a short walk down from the famous Lowe Hotel/Inn. We stayed there for three nights and dined at Rio Bravo 2 on the first night and third night as well, it was so good. The food was delicious, and our server, Maria, was very sweet and attentive. We could tell all the staff was. She remembered us from our first night there and we felt very at home. Ask for their homemade hot sauce to add some additional kick if you like your food extra hot. Yum! We had a pitcher of their signature margarita drink and it was perfect. Both nights we finished our meal with the fried ice cream, something we usually skip. It was just right for two. Almost noon Sunday on the way down from Chicago and I need to stretch my legs. Pull into Point Pleasant and as I check out the scenery I get a whiff of delicious. Young couple says it's the Mexican restaurant up the block so that's where I went. Pretty sure it's legit since half the staff has English as a second language. Chips and salsa, coffee black and iced water. I decide on Huevos Rancheros because there's 300 miles between me and my best girl and eggs travel well. Red sauce covers three eggs while rice and beans sit politely beside. Flour tortillas wait on their own plate soon to be filled with the eggy mess. Eggs are over very easy, firm whites and runny yolks that almost spotted my shirt. Beans are soft, not runny; rice is done well and firm to the tooth. Well, after we had our fill of the museum and walked the area, we were ready to go try those steaks. Rio Bravo 2 is a small Mexican restaurant that is worth your time and goes light on your wallet. We both tried the Steak a la Mexicana. As we ordered, our waitress informed us that there would be a slight upcharge on the meal as the price of beef has gone up during the pandemic.
