I came this evening for the first time. For preface I get my Mexican food taste from the Omaha, Nebraska area Mexican restaurants. They didn't have horchata so I was disappointed on that end. Chips and salsa + queso were fine. Queso was too watered down though. I ordered the burrito Los mariachis with ground beef it was served with a side of beans and rice. Topped with lettuce, sour cream, and a tomato. My fiancé got burrito California with steak. His was served with lettuce, sour cream and a tomato. Flavor was great. Not spicy. Server was good very fast. The seating had booths mainly but there's also large tables for big parties. They had Mexican music playing. I think this is a gem for Nelsonville. If they added a homemade spicy sauce and or horchata that would make this experience 10x more phenomenal. Parking was good not crowded. read more

My hometown favorite place. The manager Ovi ordered the Fajita for me and it was delicious. My first Fajita in 30 years. It was very good, the shrimp, steak, and chicken were fantastic. The dining area and the bathrooms were very clean. The atmosphere was bright and fun the other patrons appeared to enjoying the food and the friendly people. Great time!! read more

This place was pretty good! As a Texan visiting Ohio, I was of course dubious about some Yankee "Mexican" place, but the reviews were good and the pictures looked promising enough that we went for it - and I'm glad we did. As far as this Texan is concerned, this was as close as it gets to Tex Mex up north. I don't even remember what I got (I know, I know), but it was pretty good, and my wife really liked hers. What I remember are the giant beers and the chips and salsa - see pic of li'l salsa pitcher, a novelty I always find fun and amusing. Oh my goodness, SO DELICIOUS! The food was superb, it's a good thing I don't live near this place or I'd be eating way too much of it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There may be a bit of a language barrier but be sure that it's worth figuring it out. Our waiter and waitress were fantastic. This isn't upscale dining so don't expect and amazing atmosphere but you also don't pay the extra for ambiance. It's just good food, made well, and made quickly. So yummy! We got carry-out, and the guy on the phone was so friendly. When we went to pick up the food, he was singing to the music and so happy to help us. A lot of places make them too syrupy but this was good Cons: - Very small dining room - Service is slow and could be better. We weren't checked on one time for refills. Do not eat here. They have roaches! We just had dinner here. After receiving poor service and finishing our awful food (incorrect and overcooked) I used the restroom and was welcomed by a cockroach, crawling on the sink. I nearly vomited! I took and photo and showed the Manager and he said, "that's because I sprayed last night." read more

Great little Mexican restaurant with a friendly staff. We eat here weekly and love the chili rellenos, Texas fajitas and shrimp quesadillas. I have a special drink that they make for me (not on the menu). If you order a "margarita loca" you'll get this delicious margarita with missed jalapeño and cilantro. So tasty! read more

Stopped in on the way back to Detroit from Myrtle Beach. I knew immediately this restaurant was probably a sleeper. The tacos are some of the best I have ever had, if not the very best. This is my all time favorite restaurant! I eat there every week! The service is great and all the staff are very friendly! For those who are 21+ there is a full bar and on Friday nights free tequila shots are a strong possibility! If you go on your birthday you get free fried ice cream and get to wear the birthday sombrero! Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere! The food is the best part, my personal favorite is pollo bandido, but vaca ranchera is a close second! Not to mention this is the only restaurant to last long in this location. The only negative is that it can get crowded sometimes, however there is also outdoor seating so you can enjoy you're meal away from the crowd. Overall a perfect 10/10 highly recommend! read more

Best in town. :-) haha. Have been three times and the service is great and the food has always been served quickly and to my liking.

1 Star bc the staff was friendly. The food was a different story. The California Burrito was awful, cheese was of the melted kraft single variety, the beans were extremely watered down, and the rice might have been the only "authentic" thing there. At first glance the restaurant looks cute. Upon entering, the loud music and unfriendly staff set a different tone. The owner personally took our order but seemed rushed. I told him I wanted a side of cheese with my nachos. Upon his return my nachos had no cheese. I asked him if I could have cheese and he became defensive and argumentative, repeatedly insisting I said "no cheese". I'm sure it was a language barrier so I let it go rather than argue cheese logistics. So I ask if he could put cheese on it anyways and he says sure. He haphazardly proceeds to grab my plate and almost immediately spills the food into my lap leaving my shorts covered in searing hot veggies and sour cream. He insisted on replacing the order but by this point I was ready to go. This was probably my worst restaurant experience. read more

We were just driving through, looking for a nice local place to stop and eat and came across this restaurant. The restaurant had a nice friendly vibe and all was going well when a Mariachi band walked in. We were surprised and excited to get dinner and a show! It was a great experience. The food was delicious and the band walked around and played a song for each table! We will definitely be making the trip again from central Ohio to enjoy the atmosphere! read more
