Alright food at a pretty nice atmospheric place. But the service is eh and had to wait time to get my check taken so I could leave despite lots of people walking around seemingly doing nothing. The worst part was that they offer fajitas at a good price 12.25 chicken, 12.50 steak, 12.75 shrimp, 12.50 for chicken/steak. I wanted to get shrimp with the combination so I'd have all 3 meats. Waiter said ok. Then the bill comes and they charged me $3.99 for shrimp. They only gave me 5 or 6 shrimps that I had to dig through the chicken/steak to find anyways. Seems a bit unfair considering an entire shrimp fajita is only 25¢ more than the combination. The cherry on top was that they charged me $1.99 for hot sauce. If you order the crunch tacos be prepared to eat them immediately because they don't get the grease off before placing in the shell and it's is so soggy it just falls apart. But don't worry about your food being hot because it's warm at best. It's the plates that burn you. They keep the plates under a heat lamp so you think the food would be hot. Their salsa is no hotter than ketchup. Yes the staff is fast but it's because they keep rushing you to leave. Enrique is horrible with correct orders. You have to make sure you completely tell him slowly what you want and even then he still says the very opposite of what you just ordered. Yes the restaurant is clean. Very disappointing. We were told by friends that this was a "must visit" on our trip through town. The food was subpar- Honestly, I would eat Taco Bell before I would visit again. We ordered chorizo and queso along with a side of guacamole as an appetizer. The chorizo con queso was brought to the table COLD. We asked for the queso to be heated and they returned the same food to the table. (Big "no-no" according to the health department.) The guac was from a package and didn't prove to be impressive. Overall, the food was underwhelming but not awful. The same red sauce was served over every burrito and enchilada. Homemade, but average. We were in town for a wedding and stopped to have lunch. I'm sorry but I would NOT recommend this place to no one. My finance ordered a beef burrito, the beef was mush, it looked liked mashed spam from a can. The queso cheese dip was runny like water. My chicken fajita, the chicken was chewy like rubber. No flavor at all. Another thing, we ordered and within 3-4 minutes our whole lunch was out, so what's that yell you. I will definitely give credit and great reviews when deserved, but If I'm down in that area again, I will never go back. These pictures make it look way better than what it tasted like. This is my second favorite restaurant in town, second because they don't deliver! I did not dine in, I just did takeout. I ordered chori queso, bean dip, and chori pollo. All were very good. I wasn't a fan of the salsa they served, but that's fine. The chori pollo has a kick and was my favorite item. But the bean dip and cheese dip were also amazing! If they delivered, I would have ordered from them more often the past two weeks I was in town for work and tried more items. read more

I don't think anyone sane expects to find authentic Mexican food in SE Ohio. Nonetheless, El Toril surprised me. I had done my research and was thinking about fajitas all day. After ordering, the food came out fast and was steaming from the hot plate. I got the El Toril fajitas special that had a mix of peppers and onions, chicken, shrimp and chorizo. The special also came with salad, rice and beans on the side. I was very hungry and pretty much inhaled my food. Although slightly salty for my tastebuds, I enjoyed it. I decided to pack the food into the flour tortillas and make small little tacos. It was like getting a bit of everything. Score! read more

I just started eating here last month, and I'm glad I did! I always order the fajita quesadilla with chicken. The seasoning is great(not Italian like a previous review?), maybe a little too much onion but that's a preference issue. The restaurant itself is clean, and the staff are always friendly. Service is quick. I've yet to wait longer than 5-10 minutes for our food, even when it's busy. Definitely my new favorite place to eat. read more

Kind of hidden Mexican restaurant in a strip mall area close to a Walmart. 1st timer here. Wasn't sure about it from the looks on the outside, but it turned out nice in the inside with good food and service. Salsa a bit runny, but tasty with the complimentary chips. NASTY! Can I give NEGATIVE stars? This place has been compared to the best taqueria's in Cali? Are you serious? This place is a slop joke. First they are in a dumpy Wal-Mart center. I can get past that if the food and ambiance are good. They are NOT. The windows are tinted up completely so you can't see inside, it's like they are hiding things in there. There's a nasty sign scribbled and scotch taped on the door saying that restrooms are for patrons only (that tells you something). The place is kitsch Mexican in design with the typical carved booths you find in every Mexican taco sweatshop restaurant. Those places already have pretty mediocre food with Velveeta in place of cheddar cheese, but this place takes the cake. They have three "mystery meats" they have in a slop bucket kitchen line that allows them to push orders out within 1 minute of ordering. I have beef quesadillas that had nothing to do with quesadillas, my wife had a burrito that looked like a quesadilla but wasn't. The food we saw at other tables was not impressive. Their margaritas are nasty. Someone needs to open a decent restaurant in this town. read more

I along with 4 other adults ate at this restaurant last night, and we all enjoyed our food! I had the cheese enchilada meal and it was very well prepared, and had a great flavor. The other 4 individuals had burrito's and chicken fajitas and each of them loved their meal. All of us thought the salsa had a good flavor, but was way to thin. The soda's and tea were good. We didn't try the margarita's. One of our group had a birthday and we were provided with a beautiful and delicious fried ice cream desert free of charge. Very nice. So, I rated our overall experience a 4 Star. I would have gone a 5 Star if the salsa was better. The facility is adequate, the service above normal, the prices normal, and I rate the food we had as well above average. Will we go back? The next time we're in the area we will do it again! My husband and I have been vegan for a number of years. We thought this was one resturaunt in Gallipolis where we could enjoy vegan meals. We were wrong. Most of the vegetarian options include refried beans. Today my husband thought he detected the taste of pork. After asking the waiter we were informed that the refried beans are made with pork sausage and pork lard. Wouldn't be so bad if other employees had not lied to us repeatedly over the past few months when ask the same question. read more

My brother dragged me into this place. I was expecting the worst, but it was the only place open. I was amazed at how good the food was. The best Mexican food I have had in a long time, since Mexico CIty. I travel around the country and haven't ever had Mexican food this good. Not even in Texas, New Mexico or Arizona! Very odd. I've had a lot of burritos in a lot of places and never had one like this. It came totally covered and drowning in marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was really bizarre, and there was no rice or beans or anything inside the wrap, just chicken, more mozzarella and marinara, and like one pepper.
