My grandma used to come here when she was a kid back in the 40's and I'm pretty sure it looks exactly the same as it did when she was young. The hotdogs were great! We came on a rainy day, and even with the terrible weather, there were people coming and going the entire time. The staff was super friendly and told me about the history of the place and didn't get annoyed by all the questions I have. Don't pass on this place if you want a great, affordable lunch while driving through town.

[Sat.3.Dec.2022 @ 3pm] A must stop, Wright by the Gallipolis Ohio City Park, Hot Dog's was Great, Pricing was Perfect, Staff was very Kind, we only had Credit Card on us, Remos only took Cash, Asked where the Closes ATM was, it was just across Street, Told them well be wright back and Staff member said No Worries set down have some HotDogs you can go to the ATM afterwards, You do not find them type establishments like that anymore. Thanks for Great Late Lunch!

The legendary foot long (but you can ask for this portion - half).

Delicious hot dog sauce. What is it. Chili? Nope. It's Italian hot dogs. You're not gonna get anything like this anywhere else, I promise you that! Support a small family owned (for generations) business!

While in the area doing some DMV errands, I made a yelp search for nearby restaurants which featured Hot Dogs. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that only 5 miles away across the river into Ohio was our new destination. In Galliapolis there is a treasure that's been serving the community a family homemade recipe for Italian sauce since 1920s. So of course, I had to visit and I am glad I did. Tony and I found the jewel on Second Street of town, which is the Main Street running through town. It's an old house with antique weathered siding, very old and dated. There is a parking lot on the side and some on street parking in front. The place is tiny but worth the visit. When you enter, there is a wooden bar with about 8 stools. A cooler of Pepsi products and some unique signs on the wall with a great collection of Notre Dame artifacts. My favorite sign is " Everything is Fun and Games until someone Loses a Weiner" I alight out loud when I read that one. It was about noon and a Friday, so the bar area was packed with standing room only. There is a second room with about 4 tables and some additional Fighting Irish memorabilia. Most people grab and go with their food, but we opted to eat in. Tony ordered a Footlong with Sauce, Onions, Mustard and Hot Sauce, a Mug Root beer and a bag of Funion Chips. I went with a Footlong with Everything including Pickles and a Mug Root beer. Total including taxes $9.75 I never had a Hot Dog with Dill Pickles and it was good. Really Good!! The sauce was amazing, truly unique taste and definitely a Re-Do every time I am in the area. If when in the area you are craving a good Hot Dog, this is the place...a must go!!!

We were referred by a local to this "must visit" We took Ryan's advice and we were not disappointed, super good Everything on it foot long was a magical dog, the chili sauce is yummy, Super nice family behind the counter made it even better. So glad we stopped by!

The best hotdog sauce is right here in a small quaint building a little Ohio town. We drive an hour just for a delicious Remo's footlong & stroll in the riverside park a block away. Be sure to take home a pint or 2 of sauce. Bring a little cash, it is inexpensive & cash only.

A fun day trip from the house down to the Ohio River to try the famous Italian hot dog. I wasn't that impressed. The sauce reminded me of spaghetti sauce. The dog was your basic cheapo bulk dog on a plain Jane bun. Got mine with pickle, mustard and onions. Other toppings available were hot sauce and ketchup. They have a pretty basic menu, hot dogs, chips, and soda. They place itself was cool. Kind of cramped but homey. The staff was friendly with everyone and we're giving a few regulars a "hard time". The prices are very reasonable. I read about this place on a Facebook article about out of the way restaurants. I'm glad I went but wouldn't make a special trip back.

I don't know what the hype is about but it's just a regular hotdogs. I kinda wish it was an all beef dog. The sauce is good though.

The set up is hilariously insane, worth the stop alone. The cashier was fun and friendly, and the graffiti in the women's room was inspiring! I have a basic bitch stomach, so got the "Puppy" with just ketchup. Sproßling got the Mothman, garnished with I believe onion rings and 1000 Island. Husband got his smothered in jalapeños. We split a full size onion rings, which were hot and tasty. We all had Gold Peak tea. The dogs tasted great, if I had a normal stomach I would have gotten a second one. As it was, we were in and out and back on the road quick as a wink!

We planned a trip to Williamsburg, VA over the week after Christmas. Coming from SoIN/Louisville KY area we are going I-64 E. About 200 miles later (and about 20 miles round trip out of the way) we ended up at Hillbilly Hot Dogs. So about the food... you'll see the pics of the dogs we ordered. Not fantastic hot dogs, but a good experience. The service was impeccable. If you left a tip the cashier sang a song. She had a really nice voice too! This place has a 3 choices for huge hot dogs with a couple of pounds of toppings. The Homewrecker, the Widowmaker, and Pick Yer Wrecker. We saw a guy and his wife eating one as we were leaving, and it was epic. It was a fun place to go to see some the nostalgia in the "old-time" things hanging as the decor.
