All the animal proteins, especially the filet mignon, were perfectly seasoned. Mind you it's no different from other hibachi style restaurants such as a Benihana, but I was not expecting to find this type of food in these parts. Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive to our needs, especially with having two little kids to travel with. The only negative thing I'll say is the soup is really not good. In fact, I remember coming here about 30 years ago with Mom and Dad Pickett, so coming back always brings back a few memories. The new owners have done a beautiful job giving The Corner a fresh new look while continuing the tradition of this longtime local favorite. The restaurant has a clean, welcoming style, and the new menu offers a great variety of choices. I'll admit, I do miss the old BBQ place and some of those familiar favorites, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new menu. There really is something for everyone, and they've done a nice job keeping some of the family favorites while adding new options. Our food came out hot and was really good! And the burgers are real hamburger--not frozen patties, which definitely makes a difference. It was really nice to see a place that has been part of this community for so many years getting a fresh new beginning while still honoring where it came from. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend stopping at The Corner Restaurant and giving the new owners a try.
