Today my daughter, Noel and I decided to have our lunch here at Ichiban 2 in Point Pleasant, WV. It was recommended by her good friend Laura and her boyfriend, Tayler. We are so glad we did!!! Decor is gorgeous!! So peaceful, even romantic and Zen-ful!!! I got a great relaxed feel. Just need some low oriental music playing in the background and a water feature!!! But, I loved it!! Noel and I both was very pleased. I went with a Coca Cola and she chose Mountain Dew. I opted for the Chicken And Shrimp Hibachi with Miso Soup, all the veggies and rice. Noel went with the Sushi Combo of Chefs Choice of 5 pieces of Sushi and a California Roll with Pickled Ginger and Wasabi Paste and Yum-Yum sauce with Soy for dipping and Miso Soup. I also ordered Spring Veggie Rolls for appetizer to share. The food was delicious! This place was a total 5 star experience for us both. I loved my Miso Soup and felt like a pig when I turned my bowl up to finish it off!!! Terrific Miso!!! I tasted her Wasabi paste....OMG!!! Extremely spicy hot and very horsradishy....homemade Wasabi paste....a must taste test required!!! Pickled Ginger was so flowery tasting, very unique! Waitress told us she found out after she started working there that the Pickled Ginger had stomach & heartburn medicinal purposes!!! I loved my Chicken & Shrimp Habachi Stir Fry. It was very good!! Noel's sushi plate and California roll looked beautiful and tasteful...I was tempted, but I left it alone so Noel could enjoy... I used to LOVE this restaurant and it was definitely one of my top 3 favorites. This was until last week when I ordered a yellow tail scallion roll, a yum yum roll, and the hibachi steak. Now when I got my salad that comes with the hibachi, the lettuce was brown and a little mushy, but it was just a salad so I ignored it. But later on, when I ate my yellow tail roll and my yum yum roll, I immediately knew something was off. My sushi was significantly warm, and it had a weird smell to both of the sushi rolls. Then as I was eating my hibachi, ordered well done, I noticed that it looked literally almost RAW. It was majorly undercooked to the point I had to ask them to throw it back on the grill, and when I did, the manager was very rude and irritated. My servers name was Aurora I believe, she was probably the most uninviting and rudest server I have ever had. I am not one to complain, I did not even mention the $25 dollars worth of sushi that was wasted . But I believe the managers name was Andy. I felt like I was a burden for asking for an at least edible steak. Long story short, I left Ichiban with what I believe to be food poisoning after spending the following day in the bathroom and feeling deathly. But aside from the food, I have lost all respect for this place after I learned that the servers are responsible to cover the cost of any food that is either made incorrectly, dropped onto the floor, put into the system incorrectly, AND EVEN FOR DINE AND DASHERS?? I could not BELIEVE this was just normal here. The managers/boss treat their employees like they are worthless. I watched Andy yell at one of his servers and sent the girl home for messing up an order. It honestly left me absolutely disgusted. I mean the way the whole place is ran, the food has gone down hill TREMENDOUSLY, the service is awful and uninviting in every way possible. On top of that, SERVERS SHOULD NOT BE FOOTING THE BILL FOR MESSED UP FOOD OR FOR ANY REASON AT ALL!! I will NOT be coming back to Ichiban ever again until there is new management and improvement in the disgusting and extremely over priced food. read more

Where I live theres an Ichiban restaurant and we were joking around about going to "Ichiban Two". But I figured it wouldn't be fair to tease the name and not give it a try. And holy moly was I right!! The staff was welcoming and sweet, the prices were decent, and the food? It was super freaking AMAZING!! We ended up ordering too much because we ordered with our hungry stomachs instead of reason. But I am SO GLAD we did! Everything was delicious and we had more for later! An attractive place with a low noise level. They serve Chinese, Japanese/hibachi, and Sushi, and we had the sushi and some goyza (dumplings). The goyza were good tasting, but not physically very warm when we got them, and a little bit brittle on the edges. The three-roll sushi special at lunch is very reasonably priced, but the flavor wasn't as fresh as one would want, and the presentation/construction looked like my home-made sushi rolls - and that's not a good thing. The side salad was iceberg lettuce with some sort of orange dressing that wasn't ginger. It wasn't bad, it just needed a bit more effort. I think if you do give Ichiban a try, skip the sushi and go with Chinese or Japanese cooking. Service was very friendly and mostly efficient. If I lived nearby I'd give them another try. read more

Absolutely amazing sushi, I used to not like any of it before I came here for the first time in July of 2021. I have been back almost 7 times a month since! Their rolls are great for the price, they have good lunch deals that include two or three rolls and a salad for under $8. They have a very good selection for their lunch specials too! I have yet to be unsatisfied with anything I've ordered here, and the staff is always good company. We order at least once a week and they've come to know me almost personally. Every once in awhile they will have a loose roll, but they taste too good for it to be an issue! I highly recommend the Philly, Avocado Eel, Dynamite, and Chicken Tempura rolls. Not into sushi? They have plenty of platters to choose from as well. Their miso soup is excellent and their ginger sauce is unrivaled. read more

We were passing through on the highway and there aren't a lot of great options around. We decided to give Ichiban 2 a try and we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was spectacular and the restaurant was very clean. We had gyoza, chicken hibachi, and sushi - all were very good. Definitely recommend! read more

Service was excellent, food was horrible. Ordered glass of Merlot, received a warm glass of very cheap wine. The Salmon with the Hibachi was absolutely disgusting, tasted so old and gamey it was inedible. The miso soup was beef based, not veg based and had no tofu. Seriously so amazing! I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My husband and I frequent sushi restaurants all the time. We came to the point pleasant area to go antiquing and wanted to grab something for lunch. The prices are unbelievably affordable, especially for their lunch menu. I was able to get three sushi rolls for $10 and an appetizer for $4. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful to us since we hadn't been before. We went there for lunch today. not much of a kids menu. we ordered the steak and shrimp with vegetables and salad. the plate was very large but the amount of "steak" amounted to 6 half inch square pcs and the shrimp was 3 pcs. thats it. the vegetables amounted to zuchini, brocolli, onions and mushrooms in a very sweet sauce, the rest of the plate was full of white rice that had no flavor what so ever. the salad part was brought in a bowl about the size of a softball. it was lettuce and a dressing that was unrecognizable. it was supposed to be ranch. it amounted to garbage for the 9.95 price. my daughter ordered lemonade and said it tasted very odd, almost as if it was old. the kids ordered choc milk and they received a half portion plastic jug of nesquick, like you would buy at a gas station. only smaller. what was weird too was that they brought out the salad then 20 minutes later brought out one childs meal then after another 15 minutes went by then he brought out two appetizers we had ordered and finally they brought out our plates. my daughter was upset that when the waiter asked if we were enjoying our meals I said "no, i am not, it tastes disgusting". I refuse to compliment food when it is disgusting or basically inedible. I left there as hungry as I was when i got there. and for a $50 tab plus tip. I wish i could give it less then a one star. read more
