This restaurant has gone downhill since we were here last fall. Steak ordered medium was completely well done, Omelette veggies were barely cooked, hashbrowns ordered extra crispy barely cooked. Cooks in back weren't wearing protective masks. Every last person in the kitchen wore their masks below their nose and the one wore mask below face completely. When I mentioned it to waitress, she asked the kitchen to wear their masks. Only the guy wearing it below chin moved it correctly. Two others still wearing below nose. Its Bob Evans. A comfortable piece of Ohioana where you know you'll get the same great (incredibly unhealthy) biscuits and gravy at every location. You'll also know that it will be a challenge to find something that isn't slathered in that gravy! I'm glad that I wasn't the only one at our table that had trouble deciding what to eat. I think we had to ask the waitress to come back 3 times before we were finally ready. Sometimes, there are restaurants that have too much on the menu. Bob Evans in general is one of them. Now, normally, I would have gone straight for the pancakes. But after a sprained ankle and a myriad of illnesses, along with a love of food, led to a 30 pound weight gain (ouch), I decided that I needed something healthier. Um... That's not really going to happen here. I ended up getting one of their new biscuit bowls topped with my favorite hollendaise sauce (didn't they used to have eggs Benedict?). It was OK. Extremely disappointed in tonight's Dinner experience. My wife and I sat for Dinner at 4:50 p.m. and the first words out of the Waitresses mouth was "We are out of Prime Rib." OUT OF PRIME RIB? It's 4:50 !!! We were both there to try out the new Prime Rib Dinner heavily advertised and well priced. I should have walked out, but being a long time Bob Evans customer we sucked it up and had Dinner anyways. (we chose breakfast) In the course of sitting there for the next 40 minutes for our Dinner two adjacent tables, both couples asked for the same thing and were shot down the same way. Very long waits for food and mediocre service; other locations are much better. In my opinion badly managed location!

Since Bob died and his account brother took over starting with measured portions, the interaction with staff has changed from local, friendly, "here's a little extra gravy," waitresses to assembly line servers. Came here with family of 9 for lunch. There were only three other tables in the restaurant at that time. We waited for over and hour for our food and by the time it came the food was cold. I called at 7:50pm (closed at 8) for an order for pick up. The employee that answered said that they could not take my order over the phone as they were too close to closing even though I told him that I would be in the door before 8 (I live close). I asked if I came to the restaurant to order, if I could order to-go, to which he said I could. This made no sense to me, but it's their policy so I went with it. My husband went over right away and was in their door before 8. The same employee that spoke to me helped my husband and the kitchen refused to put in my order because they said the grills were already turned off even though it was still before close. went here last night with my boyfriend and friend and ended up waiting 45 min for our food when literally no one was there. ended up feeling sick almost immediately after eating my turkey meal which i at the end noticed some parts were undercooked. went home and was near a toilet for an hour and i now have food poisoning. not fun. read more

Saturday at 11am. 40 minute wait to get seated. Ok I can understand they were busy. Then it took 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered. Only one refill on coffee after asking several times. I blame the long delays on bad management. Bob Evans shouldn't take 1.5 hours just to have Brunch. This isn't the first time either for us, and we will go elsewhere next time. What happened to Bob Evans! Every experience is the same. Dirty dining rooms with dirty carpets and tables that are not cleared. No different this visit. Half of the tables were not cleared. I ordered the prime rib, baked potato and green beans. Pink or no pink prime rib was the question. I'll take pink. Well not one bit of pink. But the larger concern was the consistency and texture. It was like eating some strange type of rubber. It made be feel a little disgusted after eating. Baked potato had a drop of sour cream to apply and the horseradish sauce for the prime rib arrived spilling all over the small bowl in a mess and dripping all down the servers hand and fingers. Not a bad place to go for dinner. I usually get the salmon or the pot roast and all is well. Last time I went in and got breakfast and was very disappointed. Omelet was crusty and eggs were over cooked. My son's burger was hard and black! They killed it. Although they brought another burger out, I was dissatisfied. It's Bob Evans folks. A fine variety if you are OK with breakfast all day. The other food items do tend to be breaded, fried and covered in gravy...but I think that's why folks come here. Long wait for the food. My wife ordered the prime rib dinner and I had the prime rib omelet. The prime rib was tepid and going cold fast. The omelet was hot but the prime rib in it was in huge chunks so had to pull the pieces out and eat them individually. The cooking oil used had a smell to it and I suspect that it was quite old. I also asked for wheat toast and got wheat bread slices with some kind of oleo (not butter) slathered on it, the bread not being warm enough to melt it. The odor wafting from the plate was unpleasant and about 1/2 through the meal I had to back away from it! read more

We went to this Bob Evans for breakfast this morning. We waited almost an hour for our food. Mine was cold. I had two sausage links, scrambled eggs, home fries and a biscuit. Sent it back (except for the biscuit). The other three in our party said theirs was warm. They finished theirs and still no meal for me. Told the manager and she didn't charge us. That's the only reason for the one star. Don't waste your time here. Will never set foot in this one again! read more

You get exactly what is advertised - food cooked to order for reasonable prices. I like that they have so many healthy options to choose from - they also have lots of non-healthy options too if that is more up your alley. The interior is fine, it 's a chain, but for a chain, clean and have always had good service here. Nice big parking lot too. Can have a big wait at times for after church crowd etc. but usually get in pretty quickly. read more

Experiences at this restaurant have been wildly variable, but recently they have all been unacceptable. One time we were given dirty silverware, and when we pointed it out no one seemed to care. Other times our food has been nearly cold - again, no one cared. Last time, we waited so long for service that we got up and left. I can only hope this branch gets some new manageent. We visited Sunday morning at 1100 am. The restaurant was busy but we never imagined having to wait 25 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. While the waitress was attentive she could not overcome the kitchen's snail pace. Three of us enjoyed the food. My grilled cheese was over toasted and dry. It tasted as if it had sat under warming lamps for a long while. Had the waitress or cashier asked I would have told them. Seemingly they did not care enough to do so. Every time we go to eat here, things get worse. Tonight it took us forever to be seated (at 8:15 pm) after being told a number of times by the host, "It'll be just 3 minutes" followed by profuse apologies. Once seated, the floor next to our table was strewn with trash (bits of food, empty creamer containers, empty straw wrappers, etc.) The bench seat at the table next to us was smeared with butter. My menu was stuck closed where some sticky substance had been spilled on it. Our server didn't even get our drink order right. The food was mediocre. So I find myself in the mood for some breakfast when it's not really the time anymore so I decide to check out my good friend Bob Evans. I make the short drive from my house to the Bob Evans on 23 North just before you get to the city of Delaware. I know it's not a good sign that the parking lot is pretty full but I know from restraint industry knowledge that 3 o clock is not a busy time so I'm not too worried. I walk inside and see a few people sitting waiting for a table, but that's not my concern where is the hostess?I walk up to the podium look around see no one around, servers are hustling back and forth but no manager, no host, no cashier, no busser which they desperately needed as there were several tables with plates on them but no one there. I wait for a few minutes and finally a host comes out of the back and walks up. I ask how long is the wait going to be? She replies shortly, 15-20 minutes "Okay well I will be outside smoking a cigarette, the name is Lucas for 2 will you come get me?" "Yeah sure" she said as if annoyed. I walk outside and sit on a bench right next to the door; I am greeted by a bench with the paint wearing off and the wood falling apart. I light up my cigarette and look around, not a bad little spot along 23 gets good traffic, and the building was just remodeled bringing in lots of attraction. I continue looking and find myself greeted by a full trashcan with numerous cigarette butts in the top of it. I know this should not be the case I have been employed by restaurants most of my working life. I understand things happen maybe it's a new host and she is not used to her job yet, as trash in the front is also her job. Only one other group walks in as I smoke my cigarette, as I finish smoking it I figure it's been five minutes and its hot out, I'm going to go sit inside. I walk in to find no one waiting, as I notice this the host chimes in oh your table is ready. I think awesome great effort to come get me outside, but none the less I follow her over to a booth in the back and sit down. I already knew what I wanted and as I wait on my server I notice breadcrumbs in the back of the table by the sugar, not too big of a deal just someone slacked off a bit. The waitress comes up to the table, a couple small stains on her shirt but presented nicely with a good smile. She takes our drink order and states she will be right back with the drinks and some bread. A few minutes goes by, my sister has figured out what she wants to eat a little bit ago, and the server finally shows up with our drinks and some bread. We tell her our food order and she hurrys off to put it in. I taste my drink, strawberry tea, it was so thick with strawberry seeds and pulp I could barely get it through the straw. Our waitress walks I make eye contact and she stops I ask if I could just get a normal sweet tea. She nicely says it won't be a problem and is back in 10 seconds with a new sweet tea for me This tea was much better, as far as sweet tea goes I've always thought Bob Evans had a pretty good tea. I start to finish off my tea pretty fast and don't slow down until it's almost gone. And although my server walked by several times I never received a refill while I waited on food. However the food arrives a little longer than it should have taken, but everything looks great. The server takes off after setting the food down and comes back with a refill for me. I begin to get my Farmers Choice breakfast ready, butter, cut, and syrup my pancakes then put ketchup and hot sauce on my eggs and hash browns. I start off with my scrambled eggs, perfect texture and they taste wonderful. I move onto the bacon nice and crispy but not burnt in any way just the way I like it. The pancakes are pretty tough for a Bob Evans cook to mess up but they were thick and fluffy, and little different sizes. Lastly, the hash browns, they were way too undercooked not even a tint of brown too any of it, it was all white creamy color. But overall the food all looked and tasted great. I finished my drink and got a refill I said Thank You She responds yep I think wow what a way to come off pleasant to your guest like you want to help them and get paid. I finish eating the majority of my food, and my sister does as well but we are in no condition to get any dessert. Our server comes by and drops off the check, says thanks and walks away. I get up and get ready to go pay the bill. Once again I find myself in the lobby with no host or cashier around. I wait around and finally one appears, once again coming out of the back of the restaurant. At this point I just don't even care I just want to pay and get out. I give the server between a 15-20 percent tip because I'm nice and my overall poor experience wasn't due to her fault or really anyone's fault in particular. Overall the employees didn't seem to enjoy it their nor did the work they needed to do be taken so seriously. However the food did still taste great and got out at reasonable time. read more
