The last few times at the Bowie, Md. restaurant was not a good experience at all. The waitress spent more time on her phone, sitting on the counter and complaining to us and other staff about the manager yelling at her than doing her job. We could barely find her when we needed anything. My soup came out cold, and the coffee tasted like it had been sitting there all day, coffee went colder waiting on cream, never got drink refills. Then we were basically told to leave because they were closing in 15 minutes and she needed to cash out her checks/tips. Offering a "to-go box" while husband hadn't finished didn't change the fact that we were rushed out after already having a bad experience. After leaving I noticed they didn't close until 9pm and we were in the car at 8:41pm. We will think twice before choosing this location again. I have been going to this Bob Evans for years, and the service has steadily gone down hill. Today was the last straw. My friend and I go out to breakfast a few times a month (we're both retired). When we got to the restaurant, it was not that busy, but still took a while for some one to come seat us. We got seated, and it was well over 10 minutes, maybe as many as 15, and still no one had been by our table. At about the 10 minute mark, one lady is passing said "your server will be right with you...but 5 minutes later, we still hadn't even been asked for a drink order. So we up and left. The lady I assumed was the manager (as she seemed to be doing most of the work), and the lady who was our waitress (I think) pointedly ignored us. As we walked out, the manager lady just looked at us. A couple of the customers that were eating said they'd been there a while and had finally got their food. And the manager? No "I am sorry", nothing. So we drove an extra 15 minutes to Cracker Barrel in Annapolis, which was very busy, and in spite of being newly opened and still training new staff, managed to seat us immediately, and get our coffee and breakfast orders quickly. Good bye Bob Evans, Hello Cracker Barrel. Never again. And I Only give them 1 star, because to review them, I Have to give them at least 1 read more

Awful experience. No wait for table , thought we were off to a good start. Erica took drink orders took my coffee to table behind me, no big deal but what she brought to me still was not fresh coffee and lukewarm in temperature. Moving on my date ordered hot chocolate. Took Erica a long time to get my hot coffee or the hot chocolate for my date. Kitchen seemed very unorganized and overly loud. I could here arguing back in forth with the kitchen workers. Very little food was being served. Went in spoke to manager she said there was some confusion about door dash orders slowing up orders being placed at the restaurant. Overall it was not a good look. Took over 40 minutes for our breakfast to come out. And the bathrooms were completely disgusting. And yes I did let management know. Not pleased at all. The Blueberry Banana Oatmeal, the Farmhand Biscuit Sandwich Platter, the Banana Berry Farmer, the Whole Hog, a Rise and Shine Burger, and a Chopped Chicken Salad, just to name a few. What would we go back for? The accompanying photos tell the story. The Rise and Shine Burger with Onion Rings may not have appealed to the mace-and-chain-wielding Gogo, but we loved it. They can not do both. we ordered a meal on line for Thanksgivings. which they could not find. They made one up for my family to meet the online request. (I will definitely be sending up Prayers). Then we had order food to eat. the food took a long time to make and when it came to the table the only thing hot was the hot cakes and eggs....everything else was burnt or cold!! I asked for the manager and the waitress came to the table with plastic knife in her month as she spoke to me. when I was her to have the mgr come to see me. she had already walked away. I literally called the restaurant from my seat and asked them to have the mgr come to my table. mind you she was already frustrated because customers were complaining about the orders for tI mirror dinners were missing, wrong or incomplete. We order frequently because right now both of us are housebound. 50% of the time they get the order wrong. When the food comes it looks like they stood back and threw the food into the container. Examples: The pot roast comes with mostly gravy with very little beef and the little carrots are hard as rocks. The All American BLT says it comes on grilled Brioche bread. WRONG! It comes on hard toasted regular bread. It states with Mayo. WRONG! Just dry bread. It is not on Brioche. Their bacon is a very poor quality. When I order unsweetened iced tea because I am diabetic, they send sweet tea. We have to constantly go on Door Dash to report missing items; to the extent that Door Dash constantly questioning why we ask for credits on missing food so often. I ordered a side of broccoli and it was three small overcooked flowerets to the tune of $3.79! I can't make this stuff up. These are just a few examples. Look and you'll see how many reviews they have with a 3.1 out of 5 stars. Obviously they don't care. Now I know why the Bob Evans up the road closed down. read more

My experience was NOT good. No greeter; sat myself down. Ordered my dinner (????) the lemon chicken with steak tipes loaded mash potatoes and broccoli. I always go for Farmer's Choice where you get a choice of meat, two eggs, hash brown and buttermilk pancakes which you can upgrade if you want. Service is always good. I've been a closeted Bob Evan's Fan since I worked my very first job there in the mid 90's. The breakfast is still yummy and my favorite Country Biscuit Breakfast is cooked well & tastes exactly the same! The Country Biscuit deliciousness that I speak of is an open faced buttermilk biscuit topped with a single egg cooked to order, layered with crumbled sausage, country gravy and cheddar cheese and it comes with choice of potatoes. A pleasant place before a baseball game. Have been here several times, and always have had good service. I have no issues at all with the cooks or wait staff. They definitely do their best, and even when busy can get your food out quickly. I am a bit annoyed that their prices are up. Are we in a period of inflation? Yes so please take this with the proverbial grain of salt. Yet their increases seem more than others. Plus while I really like their breakfast choices, the coffee is of weak strength. If they had a more bold and distinctive brew, that would be an improvement. As expected the French toast with their sausages are quite tasty. They have a good breakfast menu, with a lot of choices. I have been coming to Bob Evans on a regular basis for over 10 years. I enjoy coming for breakfast after church on Sundays. On most days the food is very good. Sometimes, depending on who is doing the cooking, some adjustments have to be made. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They definitely want to please the customer and make sure you have a pleasant and satisfying experience. I often refer to them as my "Bob Evans family" because I am greeted with warm smiles and friendly chitchat. The managers created a family-friendly atmosphere for the customers as well as the staff. It was evident the staff enjoyed working at Bob Evans. Scott and Lourdes did an excellent job, making sure both staff and customers felt welcomed and valued. They exemplified Bob Evan's belief that, "Everybody Is Somebody." They always "treated strangers like friends and friends like family." At this time I would rate 4 and1/2 stars! read more

During the days of COVID-19, I've made a conscious effort to not dine in restaurants, but since I also want to support those in the restaurant industry, I do dabble in curbside and to-go orders. Thankfully, many restaurants have offered these options. Bob Evan's is on the list of restaurants that offers these accommodations. Prior to COVID-19, I've dined in this location a few times and never had a complaint. As a family, we gather together to eat and catch up, on a weekly basis. On this day, we decided to place an online order and pick the food up curbside for breakfast. The online process was extremely easy and probably the most efficient processes I've dealt with over the last year. My food was ready at the selected time and it was piping hot. Upon arrival, I called the restaurant and informed them of where I was located in the parking lot. My food came out lickety split! Since it was a rather large order, I made sure to check the bags and EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT! The server was friendly and greeted me with a smile. The food was delicious, as usual, and it was something different to eat, instead of fixing our own normal breakfast. I also appreciate the prices of the items. Very affordable! Bob Evans of course sells lunch and dinner options on top of their awesome all-day breakfast options. Since I appreciate the great customer service they provided during this visit, I'll be sure to return in the very near future. read more

Due to Covid we haven't been to Bob Evans in years. This was a breakfast run. We were seated quickly. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Our food came quickly. I ordered the hot cakes and hubby ordered the country fried steak. Now the taste of the meal experience was a little different. The food wasn't bad. It was good. The Blue Ribbon Bacon wasn't but good. It was topped with black pepper maple honey. I wasn't expecting the peppery tasted. It had a little kick. But I liked it. I think the condiments and the coffee is what threw me off. So the butter was butter but not, the syrup was syrup but not, the pancakes was pancakes but not and the coffee was coffee but not. I couldn't really taste the syrup and it was not thick enough. The coffee was too weak. I think the brands they are less than. All in all, I would try them again. read more

Being from the south, I am someone who loves Bob Evans. I am from Florida and there is a Bob Evans literally at every corner. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this location. To start off, when we walked in, there wasn't anybody up front greeting people or taking people to a table. There was a gentleman in front of my husband and I and he said he had been there about 5 minutes waiting to get sat. Finally, a server comes over and takes him to his table and then comes back and gets us. As we are walking to our table, I notice the place is not very busy at all, so why wasn't there a hostess up front? When we sat, we were greeted right away. Our server was very nice and did a great job. She did kind of forget about us towards the end by not refilling our drinks, but other than that she was great. Now for the food, my husband ordered the sausage biscuit meal for breakfast and loved every bite. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I also ordered a cup of potato soup to start and a house salad. The soup was good, however, they did not put cheese, bacon or chives on it like they are supposed to. My dinner that came out was not that great. My meatloaf was luke warm and my broccoli was cold, which usually means the plate was sitting under the warmer until the server ran it out. My mashed potatoes tasted like someone threw water in them and mixed them together quickly. Now, being that I love Bob Evans, I am just going to say this location maybe had an off night with the servers and cooks, because down south EVERYTHING at Bob Evans is made fresh to order and tastes like a great home cooked meal. This Bob Evans is very interesting. What I will say is that I go here on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I always request to sit in Tina's section. Tina hands down is the best server bob Evans has ever had. She welcomes you with a smile and always says "it's her pleasure" She is very attentive of her tables and ensures my meals are perfect. I personally get the farmers choice or the country fried steak. Cannot go wrong with either of these. She has always had my food delivered in record time. My drinks never are empty. Do yourself a favor and if you patronize this place request Tina to be your server and you will be happy. read more

This place has managed to stay busy over the course of my 15 years of living here in Maryland. One would think it's a decent spot, right? WRONG! Remember that everything that glistens isn't always gold. This spot has progressively gotten worse year after year after year... Here's my most recent adventure! I and my two youngest children (7 & 10) walk in and head over to the hostess station. I see not one not two not three not even four but five employees standing at the far end of the restaurant simply looking back at me as they hold a conversation that was obviously more pressing than the customers. Oh wait, I forgot to mention the three employees sitting out front smoking cigarettes... Always awesome to walk through a massive cloud of smoke during a heatwave with your children as you're entering a restaurant. Great job guys. Okay, back to the hostess station. I look around the corner because I'm thinking this place has got to be busy since my family and I are being ignored. Nope! Joint was empty... These rascals simply didn't feel like working. One minute turned into two, two into five... Finally, we were seated. I was a little annoyed but was like f**k it. The kids and I were ready to eat.... My son and I ordered the Original Farmers Choice w/pancakes and my daughter Plenti-o-Pancakes. After a brief wait and being subjected to the still ongoing conversation and congregating of employees on the opposite side of the restaurant our food came. So I immediately noticed the pancakes looked weird. They didn't look anything like the normal presentation. Ah I wish I took a picture but I didn't unfortunately so try to visualize. I butter them, poured my syrup on them and began trying to cut them to eat. However, I couldn't, with each slice they literally began crumbling. Apparently they had run out of pancake batter the day before and were substituting it with waffle mix. Yup, the substituted the SPECIFIED INGREDIENTS without permission from the corporate office nor did they bother to inform the customers of this. This things were f**king gross. I pushed the plate aside to begin eating my eggs. My eggs were ice cold! Not an exaggeration these things were literally eggsicles. Kids food samething... My son usually savages his food long before any of us yet this time he was simply pushing things from one end of the plate to the other. Daughter samething. After pointing out the issues with pretty much the entire order the waitress returned food to the kitchen and just brought us out some fresh French Toast. Meanwhile, the other ten or so employees were still holding their loud as hell and extremely inappropriate conversation at the far end. We stopped for a late lunch headed home from DC, the hostess was pleasant, greeted us, and walked us to a table. This table had not been cleaned from previous use so we had to walk to the other side of the restaurant to a table that had also not been cleaned off. The hostess apologized and went to go get something to wipe off the table. The hostess apologized again and said our waitress would be right with us. The manager came over and took drink orders from my husband while my son and I went to the restroom (not super clean but not terrible- could have been swept at some point during the morning since there was toilet paper everywhere). When we returned to the table, the waitress came over a couple minutes later and asked for the drink order. My husband explained the manager took the order as the manager approached with the drinks. The waitress then wanted to get our food order, I stated I needed a minute and the waitress just stood there. I had an idea what I wanted so I just ordered that instead of reading the rest of the menu. The food was decent and it came out quickly. The waitress came back to check on us one time after the food came out. We placed our empty glasses on the edge of the table, they sat there for about 15 minutes. When the waitress came back she asked "do you all want anything?" We gave her a few seconds to notice the empty glasses however we had to ask for more drinks. She brought them after several minutes and we didn't see her again. We sat there an hour total. The waitress never brought us our bill or ask if we needed boxes (which I actually wanted but I just opted to leave the leftovers there). She even watched us leave the table to go to the cashier to pay for our meal and still didn't acknowledge us in any way. There was also an older lady who very obviously had some sort of mental issue (probably along the lines of Alzheimer's). She was with her nurse and when they left the older lady was yelling, moaning, and shouted out a few times. The restaurant became silent as the nurse helped the lady outside and when they were outside, the waitstaff and kitchen all began laughing at the woman. Extremely unprofessional. read more
