I was skeptical walking into this place, but almost immediately that went away. The manager Harley absolutely attentive. The drinks made by Ricky the bar tender were on point. The music at a perfect level didn't have to scream across the table. Now the food is what took the cake. The lamb sliders absolutely delicious, the tender meat and the mixture of seasoning absolutely delicious. For the main course my wife had a truffle ricotta waffles that absolutely blew me away. The cleverness of mixing truffle with a sweet dish was very hit or miss..... but this definitely hit. Good job chef

This is a cute spot. My guests and I all ate the same thing so I can't say much about other items. We really enjoyed the burrata & fig salad. The flavors were fun, fresh and layered. The mussels and shrimp was okay, we had multiple orders of bread (it was good!) For entree, we all had the braised short ribs. It was tasty! I really enjoyed it and it didn't make you feel sloppily full, so I appreciated that. They did forget to put my order in somehow so my guests ate without me, didn't ruin the night but it was noted. Service was good otherwise, waiter explained items on menu and was patient. We ended with dessert, the lava cake with ice cream which was a good way to finish. They had a dancer there and she was engaging with guests and fire so that's a nice touch as we finished our cocktails and waited for the bill. The rooftop was closed when we went so didn't get to see that. Street parking.

This was a top tier brunch in a romantic upscale Mediterranean rooftop in Astoria with chic decor and stunning ambiance. It's like being transported to a Greek oasis. The service here is very refined. They provided warm hand towels to sanitize our hands before the meal. The cocktails here are colorful, well-balanced and strong. The Love in Mykonos drink was artfully presented and was as refreshing as it gets. The potato croquettes were scrumptious with adobo chicken chorizo artfully plated on an avocado mash sprinkled with garlic harissa aioli. The frittata con carne was a standout entree with delicious merguez sausage. The hummus poblano was another unique entree with chile poblano hummus mixed with chicken chorizo on a warm soft pita. The ingredients were super fresh. I definitely plan on returning.

Delicious food, belly dancer comes on Friday night and a romantic ambiance. Service was fast and good. Overall good experience and tasty halal food. My only recommendation is to improve on the drinks as the whole group disliked them - tasted like medicine.

I was exuberant for the occasion of goodness to patronize, at long last. What gives you hope. There is an outdoor seating patio that occupies the entire sidewalk and half the street. The weather was gloomy cloudy, but not raining which enable my party of two to dine outdoors. Our table was uneven wobbling and shaking minimal the entire meal which reminisce "Lisa from Temecula" sketch from "Saturday Night Live," but not as violently aggressive shaking. Customer service is average attentive. Oddly, our appetizers arrived first and my wine did not. We had to request my wine which should be distributed first without request or reminder, thus the four stars. This restaurant was not entirely busy nor crowded for a Friday early afternoon. Nick's Bistro is a small cafe with a modern aesthetic appeal. I enjoy and prefer to be well-cultured expose to all international cuisines without judgment and an open mind for appreciation and global awareness. I am not knowledgeable with Greek cuisine, but I do know that Astoria is the locale for the go-to restaurants. I enter with a empty stomach. I exited fulfilled. Business cards and candy were available for grabs. Nick's Bistro is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54. Dramatic irony: this business name is also the name of my former love - not the same Nick, certainly not the same man. My foodie synopsis: Lamb gyro sandwich, $12.00 The meat was soft, but fresh and Tzatziki sauce was heavy. I do not consume lamb often, but once in a blue moon I would not exclude lamb to consume. The pita bread was the highlight which was fresh, soft and cooked with a good consistency without burning or harden. The gyro contain very pauacity minimal vegetables of lettuce, half cherry tomato and red onion. I always prefer red onion. I prefer regular tomato. This sandwich ate my fill to sustain hunger pangs the entire afternoon. Gyro sandwich is always my default Greek entrée of choice. Oddly, this entrée is price higher than listed on their website for $9.00. I do not believe their website is updated for price. Caesar salad, small $11.25 It was fresh and delightful filled with Parmesan shaved cheese. This portion is actually medium size. The croutons are thankfully not hard, but I never like croutons at all. I am always enamored with the lettuce. Ruffino, Chianti, 2019 red wine $12.00 This wine is one of my favorite reds, but it is difficult to find at most restaurants or cafés not widely offered. It was a joyous delight. It is exactly as is dry, very medium-bodied smooth finish Italian red wine from Tuscany, Italy, crafted from indigenous Sangiovese grape. It highlight bright cherry flavors and surely tasted. I was floating in very high spirits. Chicken rice soup, pint $6.95 Served luke warm but not piping hot with steam visibly emitted. It was also served with Oyster crackers. It was enjoyable and warm the heart. Greek Omelet, over easy egg whites $16.50 It was served with Greek feta cheese with vegetables yellow zucchini and pita chips. I highly despise Greek feta cheese and the same for Greek yogurt because both are extremely heavy, thick and too rich. I do not see any tomatoes. This entrée did appeared well prepared and well cooked but no runny yoke. My neighbor thoroughly enjoyed this entrée. Every time I think of omelet it bring flashbacks from past long-haul international flights major airlines of standard airplane food popularity for in-flight breakfast, often served with potatoes, sausage, or roasted vegetables. Nostalgia brew. Omelet? Flight attendant, I'll take the Continental with pastries, toast and fresh fruit please. Then followed by Bedtime Care Bear make me fall asleep again.

We ordered a few different appetizers, and then for our entrées we each ordered grilled chicken and salads, along with a few drinks. However, she brought everything out at the same time instead of pacing the meal properly. When I asked for a little bit of tzatziki sauce, the woman told me no and said it would cost $3. The issue was not even the charge it was the way she spoke to us. I explained that we had not received any sauce and that I only wanted a tiny bit for my bread. If she had been polite about it, I honestly would have just paid for the whole plate even though I only needed a small amount. What I found strange is that I have been to many Mediterranean and seafood restaurants, and I have never had an issue being given a small side of tzatziki sauce. After that interaction, she never came back to our table. We even wanted another round of drinks, and she did not ask if we wanted dessert or check on us again at all. We watched every other table being served and checked on while we were completely ignored. We are a very nice couple and never cause problems, which made the experience feel even more upsetting and uncomfortable. Overall, I was very bothered and disappointed by the service we received.

Went inside, and it felt like I was transported elsewhere and not in NYC. I liked how the entire place was decorated. There's room to move around and private sections that are closed off with curtains. Food wise, there were two menus, one that was a tablet which had more options and this other large black book. I suggest looking at the tablet. It took a while to decide what we wanted as there were so many sections. I chose the two soups, which were the dumpling langman soup and the shurpa soup. One tasted like chicken soup but with lamb instead. However, both were pretty small. For the table, we got the Manti soup dumplings, which had minced beef inside with soup inside too and beware it is hot. Also, we got the shepherds salad, but they don't have feta cheese, so we got it without that one ingredient. I would suggest this restaurant if you're interested in trying something unique such as Uzbek food.

We tried several dishes from here and they were all good quality. The best dish we had was their plov (pilaf). The meat was very juicy and the rice is so flavorful with the sauces mixed into it. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to similar restaurants in the neighborhood. My main criticism is that they are a little cheap with the portion sizes. For example, the plov was mostly rice with only a few pieces of meat. There are other Uzbek restaurants in the neighborhood that are much more generous, like Sashlichnaya across the street.

The manager (or owner, not sure) lady was super friendly and gave us some recommendations, some of which we followed. We ordered the rice pilaf, which was moist, soft but not overcooked, and amazingly seasoned. The roasted eggplant in tahini was terrific; it was roasted to perfection with no bitterness that sometimes eggplant could have if undercooked. The carrot salad was spicy yet refreshing. Lastly we had the beef luyla kabab (the ground beef kabab) and Pargit (young chicken) thighs kabab which both were melting in our mouths. You didn't need teeth for that. Again, its easy to overcook over the grill, but not when you know what you're doing. The offered their home compote for a refreshing beverage, which was indeed appropriate for this summer day and without the extra sweetness most compost have. Don't judge it for being Glatt Koaher. It will take any doubts, if you have any, with your first bite! In conclusion: come hungry, you'd want to eat everything on the menu. I took the takeout menu as I know I'll order some, given I live in the neighborhood. My apologies, we forgot to take a pic of the kababs!
