My Second favorite (Kosher) pizza joint in N.Y. is Mezze's Their regular slice is solid. And Just the other week, I consumed a mock pepperoni slice. Though never tasting pepperoni before, I enjoyed the slice. A partner of mine had a spicy Sicilian slice. The first time she ordered it she loved it. But they seem to have changed it since, and she said it was never like the first time. Then we found out that different people make it in different ways at this establishment. The next time we ate at mezze's together they said they could put a spicy sauce on top of the slice. It was not the same. She ordered it for a third time when we went out to eat next and she said it was not the same. After being in a place in Europe where they don't have yelp reviews, I am back locally. I wanted to try a different pizzeria than the few I have been to in the area. I wound ordering the regular slice and the Sicilian with a Mexican coke. The Sicilian slice was run of the mill but the regular cheese was very tasty. It had just the right crust with perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The service was good and dining room was ample size. All in all, I would come back here to order a cheese slice if I was in the area. read more

Had a volunteer thank you linner here as well as surprise baby shower in tandem here. It was in their private room in the basement. Was directed to basement but very hard to tell there was a private room until I asked. It was spacious in basement and nice space. I ordered the queens boulevard roll which was good. Others ordered various items from menu and seemed to decent portions vs the sushi in which I ordered. Wish I tried the eggplant parmigiana instead. I guess it's unique that you can order sushi & pizza at same time. I was catching an early departure flight and decided to grab some food for a long day ahead. I bought a sandwich, a banana and a muffin for about $21, yeah expensive but they do offer good quality comparing to the other restaurants located inside the terminal. (Terminal 8). They do serve a lot of kosher items and also pastries, beverages and food to order. Like breakfast platters, sandwiches and salads. Although I found it a little expensive, I must admit the muffin was FANTASTIC and the sandwich was delicious. The pastries section is very expensive too. A cheesecake piece is overpriced about $8,50. Lots have change on the terminal and there aren't many choices available on the food court so my advice to you is arrive early and choose wisely. read more

Was craving sushi and decided to stop here.. Food: this place is unique. It's a Mediterranean restaurant BUT they serve pizza, Mediterranean food and NOW sushi! I know right?! I had the autumn roll (cooked sushi) and it was amazing! Fresh and the presentation was interesting. I love places that offer yummy sauces and both they served were yummy though the rolls barely needed it. Service: The owner greeted me when i walked in and asked what i was looking to order. I asked if they had sushi and he said sure. Took my order soon after i sat. Another waitress made sure my order had been taken. He gave recomendations on popular rolls. I took his advice on autumn roll and did not disappoint. The chef (i believe) came by and asked if i like my sushi. Everyone here is very friendly and attentive. When i was paying owner asked if it was my first time there when i said yes he granted me a free drink on the house. Very nice man! Price: $12 for signature rolls. Like all sushi the price varies but rolls all priced on par with other places. Ambiance: this feels like a pizza shop inside. Nothing fancy. It's a chill friendly environment but not many tables to sit at. I saw many ppl ordering for pick up or takeout. Overall i will be back to try other dishes! This place really does try, but it has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a pizza joint? Is it a Middle Eastern Restaurant? Is it a sushi spot? Somehow, it tries to be all three, which is a bit scattered and confusing. Service isn't great. Went for dinner; no utensils on the table, until I requested them myself. Also wasn't offered water, even after my food had come out. When I finally asked for water with ice, they brought me... GET THIS... a cup of water, alongside a bowl of ice with a spoon with it (?!). I mean, not a big deal, but just a bit too literal and kind of strange. Had to scoop individual ice cubes into my glass with a small spoon, which felt a bit silly. The vibe in the restaurant was weird. One of the staffers was hanging out with a table of what appeared to be his friends. Kind of felt like I was imposing on a dinner party that I hadn't been invited to. The food: I ordered the Avocado Spinach Salad, and added salmon. It was pretty decent, and the salmon was flavorful and tender. The salad itself was a nice combination of fresh vegetables, but their "house-made dressing" just felt like a ramekin of straight oil with no flavor. I asked for fresh lemon slices, so that helped. I doubt I would dine-in here again, but since I'm in the area often enough, I might stop by for takeout, especially since they're open a little later. If I'm looking for sushi, I'll forego this place and just order from one of the nearby Japanese restaurants that actually specializes in sushi. But I might grab a slice of pizza, or one of their Mediterranean offerings, as takeout. All in all this place was so-so, with lackluster service - but since my entree was decent, it gets 3 stars. read more

I suspect the Kosher cheese is not as salty as the mozzarella at other pizzerias. The crust was also very good just needed to be a little more well done for my taste. I walked by this place in the mood for something different, and seeing as I had to google what a sabich sandwich was, I decided to give this place a try. Clean interior with a takeout counter in the front with a medium-size dining area in the back that, from a quick glance, I would say can hold approximately thirty people. I ordered the sabich lunch special (with small fries and a soda of your choosing) for $10. It took a smidge more than ten minutes to be ready, but even after a 5 minute walk back home, it was nice and hot. I thoroughly enjoyed the sabich sandwich, pronounced "sah-bick" by the man behind the counter. Containing fried eggplant, slices of hardboiled eggs, pickles (very mildly bitter, not overly bitter), Israeli salad, a bit of hummus, in pita bread, it was extremely tasty. I was a bit annoyed at how small it looked when I got home, but I quickly found it was more filling than it looks. The fries were pretty good as well; lightly seasoned, neither overloaded nor bland flavorless potato wedges. I cannot help but wonder about the smattering of cuisines they offer; sushi, Italian, and "Mediterranean" strikes me as a rather eclectic combination. I decided to select a 12-Inch Pizza and it was just okay. Hot out of the oven, and with a paper thin crust, it fell apart as I ate it. The flavor was fine, but the crust was a disaster. I like it crispy, and it came out soggy. I also ordered the Crispy Mozzarella Bites. And while they looked good and had a nice crunch, the cheese was just not right. It did not seem like the same cheese as the pizza and it came off as almost sour. Also, I did not understand why the yogurt sauce comes as a side, it does not work with the item.
