We had a really great experience with 1st Choice Pools. We got a total of 4 quotes, we ultimately…read morechose them because they had an answer for all of our questions, seemed very knowledgeable, and didn't try and rip us off. They are also a small business. For our design, we wanted a simple rectangle with a Baja step and umbrella holder, and later adjusted to add a waterfall. They were so helpful every step of the way. I was nervous about the pavers and turf in my yard getting ruined, but they did a wonderful job protecting it all as best as they could. Their timeline was also very realistic, they showed up when they said they would, and all of their contractors were friendly. I really have to credit Tim, the project manager, he set the expectation and explained what the yard would look like in the interim, the timeline, and how everything goes. I'm noticing some of the reviews are mentioning a mess or trash but it's a construction zone, so expectations are really everything here. When all was said and done, my yard was clean and put back. The office manager, Estrella, is wonderful. She was so responsive and helpful whenever I had questions. They also walked me through financing, which I had never done before, they provided information and helped to point me in the direction of who they've found to be the easiest to work with. Overall, they did an outstanding job and I am so beyond happy with our pool and the job they did, it's perfect!

A family member hired this company to build their pool. Seemed okay until some major issues…read morestarting popping up about 14 months after the build. I tried to help this family member navigate the service and warranty process and was met with a total lack of empathy and disregard for contractual warranties. Now she's left paying for parts failures, electrical problems and other issues, less than 18 months after a top of the line pool build. Given how many builders there are in Tucson, I'd recommend working with a more reputable company.

I have had two different full service pool companies and tried 2 years of doing the chemical…read morebalancing myself. In all that time I have always had problems with keeping algae blooms and cloudiness at bay. Always felt like the pool store was just trying to sell me more chemicals. I decided to give these guys a shot and see how they did, and when they first started my pool was very green. In 2 weeks they had my pool crystal clear and it has been that way ever since, even after a hard rain which was when I always had problems in the past. Always had a strong chlorine smell before and now we can barely smell the chlorine and our skin can tell the difference. I also have kept track of my pool chemical expense for the past years and the monthly fixed cost is hundreds less than I have spent in prior years. I rarely write reviews but I have been so satisfied with their service and cost savings that I felt they really deserved a glowing review. Update: minutes after leaving this review Mike came by to bully and threaten to cancel the contract…read morewith the owner, stating that I don't have a right to leave a review since I'm not the customer...I told him that I am the one who sees the pool week after week because I take care of the house and I am the witness to their bad business practices. He didn't come by to deal with the pool after months of neglect because he left and the hot tub still has mildew. Awful people!! They lie, they don't service your pool and they don't care about causing damage to your pool motor. Blue knight pools merged either then and since then our pool has looked like complete garbage. Yesterday I went out to see my PSI fluctuating between 30-50 PSI so I shut off the system because I don't want to burn the motor out. When Jessie the pool guy showed I I told him that I think the filters are dirty and he said that's not his job. So I asked what is your job and he said to vacuum, scrubbing bottom, and skimming the pool and he refused to clean the filters. Instead he suggested we cancel our contract because he's tired of being yelled at about bad service techs and having to fix their issues. Nobody yelled at him. So I let him be and would again try to call the office (they haven't responded to calls in weeks). Well Jessie found out he can't do his job of vacuuming the pool without suction because the filters were too clogged. Guess who had to do a job that isn't his? Jessie. So now we have clean filters...but why fight with a company you pay good money to for a service? We will be parting ways. Unacceptable. Also, no need to respond with the run around Mike.
