    Margarita Flatbread

Three Star food with Four Star service. The food was just okay and nothing special. Our service was very good and when they forgot my main course (pizza) he gave me a drink on him. I had a calamari appetizer that was very bland and my margarita pizza was nothing to write home about. My coworker had wings and a pizza and he also thought it was just okay. The atmosphere is good and it's a great place to grab and drink and watch a game. As far as dinner, I would look elsewhere.

The breakfast buffet here is pretty phenomenal. High quality stuff. And I'm not even into breakfast food. Since we've been staying at this hotel for a seminar, I've been eating at this place pretty much every day on this trip - that's REALLY uncommon for me, as I normally like to get out and explore... Just didnt have time on this trip! Surprisingly, the bbq brisket at their BBQ Buffet was even more tender than the brisket at the local "famous" BBQ spot - Hard Eight. I was sooo pleasantly surprised! Legit.

Had the seared tuna with bok choy over rice find it quite delicious couple that with Jim Beam and Coke and a pleasant wait staff you have the makings for a nice dinner

Bar area nice if you want to catch a game.

Typical fare for a hotel restaurant. Service a little weird, early attention then a little forgotten. It was lunch time and pretty sparse customers but still not great service. I would eat there again, the bar had all the games on and nice TV's.

    Texas Nachos lacked cheese

Ice cold Shiner Bock at the bar was perfect. Cobb Salad was excellent. Texas Nachos were weak. Big pile of good crispy tortilla chips, good guacamole, but not nearly enough cheese. The brisket on top was too sweet. This dish would be much better with triple cheese and none of this overly sweet beef. Pleasant but pokey service.

St. Patricks 2014! Yeah! Green beer, cabbage rolls, green bra shirts, green G STRINGS!! That's what everyone was thinking right?! Well that's not what happened. LAYOVER!! And that's how my story begins.. Luckily my company is contracted with this hotel and it is only 2.5 miles from the airport. Beautiful lobby, beautiful rooms and thank goodness they have a bar. I, like any other traveler, got in my room, plopped on the bed and read the menu. Miso salmon on a bed of wasabi mashed potatoes caught my eye. So, like any traveling solider, I marched down to this establishment which is conveniently located in the hotel. Here it is cut and dry - The staff is awesome! So nice but not at all overdoing it for a tip. Always there when I needed a refill... ON MY BAR SNACKS!! Any who my cup was full ;) So I ordered what I spotted on the menu. Miso salmon on wasabi mashed potatoes. Sorry chef but pack your knives and go. Needed acid like a New Jersey house wife needs a pardon. Plus the fish smelled a bit too much like fish! Potatoes did not wow and the asparagus was not much more than a stinky pee! Sorry but my meal was just not good and the price of 28 was not much better. Next time I am in Dallas I will opt for a more flavorful outcome. If anything I hope this raises awareness to management. New food please!!!

A trying-too-hard to be hip, dark hotel restaurant. Food is mediocre and service is slow and inattentive.

He would always come back and check on us just to make sure everything was going well. His customer service skills were top notch! Especially now of days it's hard to find good customer service. I ordered the steak and egg hash, and we also shared an order of fried green tomatoes. Everything came out fast and didn't take long at all. On my entree there was a lot of the salad dressing and potatoes that was overpowering, but the steak and eggs were pretty delicious. Wish there was a location closer to where I live!

From the start, our waitress, Sheba, made the experience exceptional. She was warm, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We loved chatting with her, and her honest recommendations helped us choose some incredible dishes. We decided to share the Surf & Turf special, featuring shrimp and a perfectly cooked ribeye, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked beautifully, flavorful, and well-portioned. We also ordered the Candied Bacon and the Crab Cakes, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The candied bacon was the perfect balance of sweet and savory, while the crab cakes were packed with flavor and tasted fresh. To drink, we had the Strawberry Hibiscus Margarita, and it was hands down one of the best summer cocktails I've had. It was refreshing, beautifully balanced, and the perfect pairing with our meal. Between the outstanding food, welcoming atmosphere, and Sheba's top-notch service, this was a five-star experience from beginning to end. If you're visiting Whiskey Cake, do yourself a favor and ask for Sheba if you can. We left full, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit!

A gem in an otherwise culinary wasteland…read more This bistro is located off the main lobby of the Westin at DFW. There are multiple budget hotels in the area and the only food choices within reasonable walking distance are Denny's, gas stations and an outdoor food shed at another motel. There is a well curated list of local craft beers (8). Make a point to ask for the separate alternative "healthy menu". The food on that menu is very different from the comfort food on the main menu and it is available in half orders. I tried a half order of chicken and avocado arepas and a half order of tuna tataki. Both were delicious and visually pleasing. Staff is attentive, engaged but not intrusive. Prices for these two items were $8 each, very reasonable.

This includes a few nights at the bar and 2 nights in my room. The staff was never overly inviting but they were usually busy with a demanding crowd of hotel guests. Ordering through the Marriott app looked like a great option but it wouldn't work once they asked you how you'd like to pay. When you go downstairs and scan their QR code, it brings you to the same interface but on a website rather than an app, and that worked fine. The chicken wrap with fries was pretty good and was my go to. The house salad wasn't great and I wouldn't try it again. The half order of the tuna was decent but I loved the pickled veggies under them and would have just had a bowl of those! I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but having this inside your hotel for convenience is nice.
