A cute breakfast place with some interesting offerings like Vegetarian Benedict and avocado toast. We had the veggie Benedict and plain pancake with eggs and potatoes. The veggie Benedict was good, served with asparagus and potatoes as well. I'd say the pancake which was whole wheat, was somewhat dry. The potatoes were undercooked and soggy. But otherwise decent overall. I wish they'd had a buttermilk pancake option. The coffee was nice and strong and served with more in a small pot that they left on the table, which I loved!! Service was friendly and quick. Get there before 9:00 if you go on a Sunday. It was pretty crowded and we did have to wait. The hostess called our name like "last call for Smith..." um what. I was there the whole wait time and this was the first call, when she said it was the last call. I told her that as we rushed to claim our table. She took my number so we were waiting for a text and she said "I did text" with a somewhat salty tone. I checked my phone and no text. She said "sometimes there are filters on the phone and you don't get it..." oh please. No text and no call except for one "last call". But anyway our server was great and I'd probably go back. The juices looked good and now I wish I had tried one. I'm always happy to support smaller non-chain places with unique menus and this place is definitely that. read more

I've been going to this place for years before it was the Blue Bird. They sold it and now it's the Blue Bird. The staff is GREAT! The food is the BEST! It's always packed I would call ahead of they even let you anymore. Farrah one of the servers is a TOP NOTCH server. I'm not sure who all is there now it's been a while since I've been able to go. Three stars only beecuse of excellent service. I ordered a biscuit with gravy, add tomatoes and green chile. To go. Gravy was tasteless and there was not enough of it. Hardly any sausage bits at all. The biscuit tasted a little old, and had no flavor except a weird baking soda aftertaste. Overkill on the amount of CANNED green chile.. They forgot to put the tomatoes, so I had go back I to have them put on, so my biscuit was cold by the time I got to eat it. Not worth the money in any qay...Pillsbury biscuits are better. Food is good, I had simple biscuits+ gravy, good size portion. I did unfortunately salt my food before I tried it, this was a mistake on my part. I should know better this is actually one of my issues as a professional Chef don't season your food until you taste it. The chef or his team may actually know what they are doing in the kitchen. I salted my biscuits and gravy and that was a mistake, it was very salty almost not edible. The service was good and I will go back. The bathroom was clean and the employees looked happy. Breakfast here was amazing. The coffee was hot, the food was made to order, everything was fresh and the service was impeccable. Farrah was my waitress and she took care of all of my needs in a timely manner. I had the biscuits and gravy, two eggs and home fries. Great place for breakfast. Employees and owners (Bridget and Peter) are all very friendly and helpful. Service is quick, and food is always done promptly and properly. I have eaten there frequently and have got to know most of the employees. They all seem to enjoy working at Bluebird Cafe, and I think it stems from the friendliness and cheeriness of the owners. The food (I usually have the Waffle Breakfast) is great with the waffles always done nicely and quite tasty. Sausage is among the best tasting I have had, and eggs always done to my specifications. Another good point is that coffee and hot water for tea are served in insulated pitchers so the waitstaff does not have to ask you every five minutes if you need a refill. The coffee and hot water stay hot inside the pitcher so that even at the end of the meal the remaining liquid inside the pots is still just about hot enough to burn your tongue. The place is also so light and airy with large windows for outside light. The place is kept so clean that one could almost eat off the floors. So glad me and my fam tried this place. We had a little bit of a wait no problem there. If a place is busy and a line outside im assuming the food is worth it! Simple but yummy items on the menu! My Dad is the pickiest eater ever and he scarfed his food down...That says alot lol! Everything tasted fresh and ordered the way you like. Im always on the search for a good brunch spot. You know it's probably going to be good when there are folks waiting for a table. But the wait at noon was only 15 minutes. Lots of friendly attention with drinks ordered and served quickly, questions answered clearly about the menu, and frequent checks back to the table for any further needs! A big menu covers just about anything you can think of for breakfast, brunch or lunch. My chicken salad was fresh, ample, well prepared and tasty. My companions had a Reuben sandwich, and a soup and sandwich combo with a club sandwich. All were good, fresh, and attractively served. The service, place and food was outstanding, ordered an omelette and coffee. They serve you your own pot of coffee which was great tasting. I noticed some delicious looking green juices and carrots juice which I'll have to try next time. All the food looked well prepared and plated. There was a tiny hiccup which my waitress graciously and Instantly took car of. I'm from out of town so I didn't know many places to go eat at where they had similar food to Mexican food. I looked at the menu and decide to give the place a try. My dad is your typical Mexican that has to have a Chile with his food. He kept telling me to ask the waiter to see if they had a Chile toreado and I kept telling him "this isn't a Mexican restaurant." He asked the waiter and little did I know they did have them. Seating was quick for the time of day, menu selection is vast and looking at the plates that walked by everything looked yummy. We ordered the classic breakfast, biscuits and gravy, corned beef and hash and the Cambridge skillet. It took in my opinion a very long time to get our meal (30+ minutes). And the food was average. Pancakes the size or wagon wheels, but overcooked and as tough as leather. The hash was too salty and we found egg shells in the skillet. Maybe the kitchen was off but the experience was just ok. They did compensate us for the egg shells, but several items were not edible. We were really looking forward to a food experience all of the reviews talked about, but our experience fell short. read more
