I stopped into this cafe for breakfast driving back north from the Denver airport. If you're in the same position, it's a quick drive off the Thornton Parkway exit on I-25 for a breakfast that's not just your standard chain. I got a veggie benedict and coffee. Both were good. The price points are a little higher even for a higher-end breakfast as the veggie benedict with potatoes was $10-$11 and coffee $3.25. Portions were sufficient but not huge as can sometime be the case at certain breakfast spots. The restaurant was very clean, staff kind, and all doing their best to follow COVID protocols. The price points for what it is are the only reason I label it a 4-star rather than 5-star. Otherwise, a good experience especially if you find yourself on a morning drive on I-25. read more

Went here with my dad the other day to get some some breakfast. We were in town visiting from San Diego, and looking for a local spot. Well I'm glad we found this place so close to my cousins house. Staff were friendly, fast service, and was very accommodating. We got in and seated right away at opening but soon people were pouring in. We ordered coffee and left us a whole craft. I got the Chicken avocado omelette with fruit and wheat toast which was presented nicely, tasted great and I was most impressed with the fruit bowl as it had a nice variety of fruit unlike some places. I Am beyond upset right now. As a customer i have been coming to this place since it was Called the Egg & I. And have witnessed the different owners. Even got to personally know me and my family. Today i decided to stop by for breakfast. A male Server attended me. He was nice and friendly at first, i was even open to the breakfast burrito sugestión and adding a Pineapple/coconut pancake for an Additional $3, which i accepted. He also asked if i wanted ranch potatos which i was expecting my regular básica/simple ranch potatos i always get. Not no potatos with bacon,cheese & sour cream for an additional up charge when the check came my total was almost $36 and notice a $7.00 griddle up charge plus an addtl $3.00 pancake. I asked to speak to my server and he came with a hispánic lady w/ black hair light skin compleción, which appeared to be a manager. He explained to me that the $3.00 was a fee if i would of had Sustituted the bread, & I immediately knew he was just saying that to look good in front of his boss. So i looked at him and politely responded "but the burrito came with no Toast. and for him to be silly after all he had been the one to imply it was $3 for the pancake add on. Then they both left the lady said she would take the $10 off of my check and took my boxes pancake with her. Then came back alone and asked if i still wanted it, she would let me have it for Half off! I looked at her like... really? For starters I also waittress for a living and off the bat if I would've been put in a similar situation, as a courtesy I would've given it as a complimentary and maybe even a coupon for the next visit. You would think that coming here for many many years a little Appreciation would've been shown but not even close. So yes I'm upset and torn. read more

We enjoy trying new restaurants. Sometimes, we are disappointed...BUT, NOT TODAY! There were so many delicious sounding options on the menu, it was hard to choose what to order. Wow ... what a fantastic find! We happened to be in the area prior to a medical appointment, so we stopped by the Bluebird Cafe for a quick breakfast. My husband had the Santa Fe huervos rancheros and I had the Garden Frittata. Both dishes gluten free, fresh, and delicious! Fast and friendly service. Pleasant decor and lots of comfy booths. Food was subpar at best. Came here cause we had never tried it. We won't be back. Starters they don't carry white bread. What kind of breakfast place doesn't have white bread??? All the food tastes like it was cooked in ranch seasoning. When I asked our server if the ranch potatoes had a lot of ranch seasoning in them or if that was the name etc he said everyone likes them. Well I don't eat ranch anything I don't like it so I said you can't make them without and he said no they are all made like that. I said ok I'll just make my side a side of fruit. This was with the bacon and eggs. Well he must've interpreted this as that I love ranch because even my eggs tasted as such when they came out. Fruit was 2 blueberries and 2 small strawberries with the rest being honeydew. I even had my wife taste the eggs and she spit them out saying they had ranch in them. She had sausage patties that when they came out she cut into them they were pink in the middle. When our server came back she explained it to him he seemed annoyed to take them back. Bacon was ok. The best breakfast cafe in Thornton! The Bluebird is very special & unique. From the moment you enter, you know you have arrived where the locals eat! My GF has been raving about this place for a while now, so while visiting she and I made sure to drop by. The menu is extensive and I love that the robust coffee is served piping hot in an old-fashioned metal canister-type container you can pour yourself - no waiting! I had delicious Santa Fe huevos (no meat version). YUM!!! This place is just fun... lots of great food options, superb staff and a beautiful cafe inside and out. Very pleasant experience here. I decided to stop by for breakfast during a solo trip up there and discovered this little gem up north. The host sat me immediately and offered me a variety of drinks as well as coffee while I was looking through the menu. The interior was nicely decorated and I enjoyed the atmosphere. They had a unique selection of breakfast items and I wanted to try them all but unfortunately not enough room in this belly I ordered the corned beef hash plate and it was very well made and delicious!! The servers and employees checked on me multiple times and were very nice, made me feel like I wasn't eating breakfast alone. Overall great experience here but I wish they had more of a selection for coffee, I don't particularly like black coffee but other than that it was great, I'll be back! read more

This was our first time at Bluebird Cafe after having it on our Yelp list for a while and hearing great things about it from my husband's coworkers. The service was great, it has a low key and comfy atmosphere and the food was both tasty and affordable. But the waffles? Beyond excellent. This restaurant is okay. If you're in the mood for a basic breakfast, it does the trick. Service can be slow, even when not particularly busy. It's one of those establishments that only gives you one napkin but then you have a heck of a time flagging down your server for another one. I've had issues with the food not always being cooked on the cleanest surface (eg burnt bits of someone else's food in my dish) but that's the risk with restaurants.
