    Smoked Ahi Dip

My kids' and my first time at the Blue Note to watch Pure Heart. My oldest son is a huge fan of Jake Shimabukuro, who opened up for the group (he is in the group). Parking: Difficult. We got to Waikiki around 7 pm both of the suggested valet parking options on the website were only accepting hotel guests. We decided to park across from the International Market. You have to purchase $25 at one of the businesses, and that business will validate. The first hour is "free", the second hour is $3, and the third hour is $3. We went to Target after the show, purchased more of the items I wanted, and had them validated. Food and drinks: extra $20 minimum per person The food was okay. Nothing stood out to me. We ordered too much and had to bring a lot back home. We ordered: Smoked Ahi Dip ($22)- It came with chips. Citrus Farm Green ($18) Salad Yuzu Lemon Vinaigrette, Shallots, Goat Cheese, Satsuma Orange . I added shrimp (+18). I wouldn't get this again. I ordered the I Got Ube ($18) drink, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet. . One of my son's got the Blue Note Sundae ($16) it's Lappert's Vanilla Mac Nut Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Whipped Cream, Crush Macadamia Nut, Maraschino Cherry. Tiramisu ($16) My kids each got a drink two cokes and a pineapple juice which cost $5 each. Service: Great! She checked on us often. The staff did great working together to drop off food and take plates away. Seating: There is premium seating or Loge and Bar seating. We purchased premium seating. It's first come first served when it comes to seating. Originally I was aiming to seat in the middle of the booth on the floor. Due to coming later then I thought we got a booth at the end. If you seat in the premium seating in the booth you will have people walking in front of you on the floor. To me the premium seating right above the booths in the middle is really good seating because it's in the center and a step above. If you don't want people walking in front of you get the table seatings on the floor. It was hot in the venue that night and luckily I brought my portable fan. Even Jon Yamasato the singer of Pure Heart even mentioned how hot it was during the show. Video/photography: I read in other reviews they were not able to video or take pictures. I think it depends on the artist. We were able to video and take pictures. Overall, we would come here to watch another show. The service was good. I liked the ambience. The food was okay and next we will eat from somewhere else and get a dessert and drinks from here. Remember to bring a portable fan just in case.

Food & Drink The better half of the world food tour duo had other plans, so I invited my sister-in-law to see Stanley Jordan. We chose a table on the upper level on the right side of the center section. This gave us good views of the stage and no one in front of us blocked our views. We ordered double Hendricks gin & tonics, a Caesar Salad, Portobello Arrabbiata, and the Jidori Coconut Basil Chicken. Interestingly, the pasta dish didn't have any portobello mushrooms; it featured pieces of Maitake mushrooms. Like before, the pasta was somewhat overcooked, but the spicy marinara sauce was fine. The chicken half came with what tasted like plain rice sitting in a coconut cream sauce. The rice was described as crispy cilantro lime rice ... I don't think so. Our biggest complaint about the chicken was that it was slightly overdone ... My leg was fine, but the breast meat was dry. We passed on dessert and I had a cup of black coffee. Food rating: 3+. The Concert I've followed Stanley Jordan for a long time and have many of his albums, starting with Magic Touch in 1985. That CD opened my ears to a different style of guitar playing. I thought I was a guitarist .... No, I'm a hack. Stanley, now 66, played his Vigier (a French guitar), another one whose name I couldn't see, and a grand piano during his 1.5-hour set. I wasn't able to check out his pedal setup. If you haven't heard him play, you are missing out on a virtuoso of improvisational jazz. Trained as a pianist, he plays with both hands, on one guitar or two. He played two songs seated at the piano and switched hands during each ... All while singing. His set included Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, My Funny Valentine, and a couple of songs from his forthcoming album, Feather in the Wind. The Blue Note is perfectly suited for small scale / solo performances by artists like Stanley Jordan. Highly recommended! Concert rating: 5+.

The service was amazing! The show was great but the only downfall for me was the food. The food was lacking flavor for the price that it had. My drink was fantastic!

I had a great experience at Blue Note for the Yuki Chiba concert. The lines were controlled, and the food/drinks were on point. Tried the Blue Note Sundae and Tiramisu. Both were delicious and very cool how you can dine while watching the show. Only issue I have is that although you buy premium seating - it's still FCFS, so you need to show up early if you want good seats. Another big plus is that they had a pretty good non-alcoholic menu for the people who don't want to drink alcohol (like me). I really enjoyed my experience and the server was helpful. This type of venue is more intimate and definitely a good idea for a cool night out.

What a fun venue! Highly recommend!! The drinks are very good. The food was excellent! The entertainment top notch!!! Go there! Enjoy the entertainment and have fun! Nice somewhat small venue. Service was excellent and didn't detract from the show. Highly recommend the Blue Note!

I've been to the Blue Note multiple times over the past years, and this is my first review of it. I realized that the overall experience may change, based on your excitement and enjoyment of the show being watched, so I decided to rate it based on just the food and service as a venue, without regard to the show that I attended. The menu does change (both food and drinks), depending on the artist performing, so that's a positive. At least management knows that the audience demographic, and their tastes in dining, changes, based on the artist. The food is prepared by the Sheraton chefs and is fairly average, especially for the premium prices being charged. The prices equal what you'd pay at a high-end restaurant, but, due to the layout, and venue showtime, it is difficult for the staff to provide the level of service that would be expected. The food preparation and taste are good, but not great; same with the bar drinks. If I included the enjoyment of the show, I'd add another star (or two), but that's too random, especially because you're paying separately for that ticket. If you want to enjoy the food experience a bit more, I'd recommend arriving and waiting in line to be one of the first to enter, to have as much time to order, get served, and eat, before the show starts. Even then, the quality of F&B service is a bit overpriced, imo. Also, I've always parked at the Outrigger East hotel on Kuhio, and they usually charge $6 for up to 4 hours, with validation. This night though, I was charged $10. Just another annoying glitch.

Blue Note Hawaii was on fire for Mindy Smokestack's 10th Annual Amy Winehouse Tribute. The second you walked in, you could feel that "this is gonna be a good one" energy -- and the performers delivered all night long Mindy Smokestack set the tone with a lineup that was stacked with talent. Kristina Bair came in with vocals that hit you right in the chest, Cardamom brought that warm, smoky vibe, and The Elevations kept the groove tight and clean. Every performer -- Kessa Armstrong, Kevin Brown, Ayano A McPeek‑Bailey, Tazra Gomes, Belen León -- added their own flavor, making the show feel like a full‑on celebration instead of a copycat tribute The crowd was locked in, the band was dialed, and the whole night felt like one of those "only in Hawaiʻi" experiences where the music, the room, and the people all sync up perfectly. And of course the food was fire

July 18, 2026 - attended the KPop dance event. The Blue Note venue, event, and wait service was great however the food was sub-par and over priced!. Sodas were flat, food took long (granted all orders were going in at once but it did almost an hour which included waiting to place to arrival of food). Ordered a kids meal and this pork shrimp, basically shumai. It seemed like it was costco products throughout but was over priced. Guess it was a donation. Staff was great and friendly. Hotel was under renovation so it wasnt super conformable regarding temperature. Meow.

Went to see Foghat Blue Note. Excellent menu with wonderful entrees and desserts. I ordered the poke nachos and ahi dip. Its a good idea to line up early for the best seat selection. Sat in an area with a great view so I was able to take great video. Courteous and prompt waitress. I parked at the Royal hawaiian shopping center. It was a wonderful evening.

This was a great venue with an intimate setup to have a great view of the musicians. The show was short at only about an hour, but it was packed with great music from Iam Tongi's band. The food was less than average and quite pricey so I would recommend eating beforehand!

Five stars for ambiance and customer service. Green loge and seating area are first come, first served. Kudos to my dear friend and YE, Marissa K for scoring prime seats and view in half moon, plush green cushioned booth for Jiaoying Summers Comedy Show. I hurriedly rushed in from commute, traffic after work. Made it 30 mins before show time thanks to valet. Jiaoying kindly requested no photography and videography during the show. Able to see well from the distance. Great customer service from the Servers. They're willing to turn the lights in a different direction if shining too bright. One star for food. Calamansi Spritz: Mocktail didn't make a good first impression. Watered down. Some carbonation. Barely tasted calamansi. Hawaiian Shrimp Ceviche: Shrimp tasted uncooked b/c it was extra soft. Taro chip tasted good. We returned this appetizer after one try to our Server, stated the shrimp tasted uncooked, extremely soft, and if we could order something else. We didn't get charged for this app. KJ's Bourbon Bread Pudding: Worst bread pudding I've had in terms of taste, texture and presentation. Too mushy! New York Cheesecake: This dessert passed our test for discriminative palates. Edible. Please make improvements and serve top quality food and beverages. Food and beverage experience spoiled what's supposed to be a memorable evening of live performances with required minimum to spend $20 pp.

Came here to watch Courtney Barnett's solo show. You can dine-in and they have a dollar $20 minimum per person, food and/or drinks. JP was our server for the night and provided excellent service. The venue is cozy and some people, including my wife, complained about how warm it was. It ended up getting busy as the venue filled up, so service seemed a bit affected. The prime rib was delicious! My son enjoyed his...and most of mine. The wife had the shrimp scampi which she enjoyed very much.

Ask the Community - Blue Note Hawaii

Is the minimum truly $20 per person (like each individual person has to meet that), or for a couple would it be $40 between the two?

$20 per person . The food here has been terrible for years, and you will be disappointed unless you spend the $20 on drinks. Eat before and after the trip to Blue Note. Zippy's actually has better food. A friend told me that the food was…

I understand having to share tables but does that count for the booths too?

Aloha, Yes, all seating is communal, including booths.

How is the parking? Is there height restrictions in the lot? Thank you

Hello Lance, We validate parking at Outrigger Paradise and for the valet at Outrigger Waikiki Beach. The height restriction for both is 6'4"

Am I able to check on previous tickets to confirm my purchse for coming show?

Aloha Hayden! If you need help looking up a purchase or confirmation number, you may email us at club@bluenotehawaii.com or call 808-777-4897.

Is there live jazz every day?

Go to the web site for their schedule, they have a variety of music and comedy shows. bluenotejazz.com

Where's the best seat to sit? Booth ? Or Front tables?

Pretty subjective, but I like the booths or being at the from tables. Great view, and the booths are easier to get the servers too

Regarding the bar area... are their seats or just standing to view the performance? It looks like their may be seats facing the stage?

Aloha Michael! There are about 20 bar stool seats at the counter, facing the stage, then it's all standing room.

I was wondering is it OK if we arrive a little late to the comedy show? Our tickets say it starts at 7 but we can't get there until a little bit after that so I was just wondering if late comers are allowed.

Yes we have been to shows there late. Only thing is table or seats are first come first serve. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Is there wheelchair van accessible parking close by and how much does it cost? I Will be pushing my spouse in his wheelchair so would like it to be as close as possible. Thanks!

Aloha Wendy! We recommend valet parking at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort (where we are located). There are elevators you can take up to the second level to our entrance. The cost to valet is $15 for up to 4 hours (we provide validation stickers…

How much does it cost for valet parking with validation? Same as Hula's $6 for 3 hours?

    $15

How early should I get there if I have loge tickets?

Best to go about an hour before, You will be seated depending on your tickets are in will be on a first come first served. You would get your choice of seats if you go early.

Wheres the best seats for 2 people ? Thank you in advance !

The booths are best and go fast. As early as 45 minutes before the show they're taken. Next best is the floor seating in front of the band. Many seats here, but you could be blocked by someone in front of you. I would just avoid the ends of the…

How should one dress going there? It says casual, but T-shirt and jeans casual or business casual or something else? What would you recommend?

Business casual or Aloha attire is good enough to attend Blue Note Hawaii

Can you get gift certificates? Christmas is coming up.

Aloha Lena! We do offer gift cards for inside the club, valid for food & beverage. We don't have a way to offer ticket gift cards, but we've had several guests purchase tickets for someone and also buy them a restaurant gift card to package it as a…

I purchased Premium seating for an upcoming show thinking we would have seats, but a friend told me that even with Premium seat purchasing, you still may have to stand. Is this correct? As I thought the standing room/area was the bar area.

There is tables, booths, and bar seating. There are tables right in front of the stage which are for those that bought a premium ticket. Same with some of the booths. With the tables, seating is groups of 4, some might be 6 or 8 depending. If you're…

What is the difference between Lodge seating and Premium seating at the blue note? Is premium a better experience

Lodge is cheaper than premium seating. But no matter where you seat in the blue note, it's still a nice view and an up close view of the stage.

Where is the best place to park?

Hi! There's parking at the Ohana East Hotel. $6 for 4 hours, with a validation from the Blue Notes Gift Shop.

Do you have to share your table with others if your purchase a premium or table or loge seating?

It depends on how packed it is. If there’s empty seats you can have your own table. If it’s packed you’ll have to share tables.

The interior feels very nature inspired and felt like the menu followed the theme with Korean cuisine influences. The pairing menu was so good and highlighted each dish. Each dish was so impressive and well thought out. My favorite was the beef with banchan, low key felt like eating Korean bbq but in the most elevated way. It's been a few weeks since my visit but I'm still dreaming of the corn and black sesame shaved ice dish! Thanks for such an incredible time team members at Maze!

An old friend knew we were heading back and sent me an IG post where Māze x Bar Leather Apron were doing a collab on Mon and Tues. Sjnce we didn't have dinner plans, we showed up at around 4:40 only to see 1 other person waiting in line as we were searching for parking. To our surprise, there were 7 people in front of us by the time we lined up! Sadly we were seated at a high top table off in the corner as a lady took the last open seat. For this collab, they didn't have a ton of food items so ordering was fairly straight forward, ordered 1 of everything. First cocktail I had was the pepper-tonic which was quite tasty! Otsumami - consisted of 3 snacks (seasoned cashews, pickled cabbage and warm olives). Thought the pickled cabbage was quite tasty and the cashews were just so so. Skipped the olives since I'm not a fan but the wifey enjoyed them. Salmon - it was mentioned that this was the chef's signature dish but sadly was mediocre for me. The salmon had a very distinct flavor which I wasn't a fan of. Wagyu - tartare on potato paves which was sadly just ordinary for me. thought the tartare lacked flavor. Cheese - unique twist of what i was expecting. the flavor of the dish was good but wished there was more of a crunch to it. this wasn't hot when it was brought out so perhaps it was sitting a bit before it was served to us. Fries - likely my favorite dish for the night but sadly our order seemed like 1/2 everyone else's portion as our bowl was half filled while other customers were filled to the top. ended up ordering another order just to snack on while I enjoyed the imperial cocktail. Enjoyed the casual ambience of this collab but sadly not sure we'd come back for a regular set meal in the future. This week's menu seems to be more thought out and wished they had their "baked potato" last week. Will definitely head back to Bar Leather Apron as their drinks were fantastic!

The kind worker also took photos of me with the beautiful view! They have a live piano player playing live music, and they dim the lights when the fireworks show goes on. It was a wonderful time and I definitely would come back again with friends to enjoy a nice time together, or even just on my own. The backdrop of Waikīkī is beautiful! The Kanpachi and Miso butterfish was excellent. The Kanpachi was crispy yet tender as you bit into it and I loved the kabocha puree that gave it some sweetness. The Miso Butterfish was also excellent. It came with rice that had fish eggs on it as well as some seaweed. I really enjoyed the pairing of the miso butterfish with the rice, since the Kanpachi did not come with rice. I really enjoyed my time at this establishment and would definitely want to come back for another special evening! They have outdoor/indoor seating so do keep that in mind if outside elements may influence your experience depending where you sit.

Whatever name this…read morerestaurant is calling itself doesn't really matter as the food and service has always been consistent. Solera is located in the Ritz Carlton hotel with free valet and a beautiful view. This is an open air restaurant but despite the humidity it was actually really cool, temperature wise. My husband and I dined here last minute after a failed attempt at trying omakase (another story for another day) and we were happily surprised with how great of a time we had. The receptionist was super kind and took a few pictures without complaint of my husband and I, and our server was very nice as well. No complaints on the service. Now, onto the food. We ordered: - Ku'uipo (Sweetheart) Seafood Platter: Super fresh and tasty! It came with two shrimps, two oysters, lump crab, and ahi poke. The lump crab was surprisingly really good and there was a LOT. I only wish that there was some type of cracker or toast to eat with it. Otherwise you're pretty much eating lump crab by itself- not that that's a bad thing, but something to compliment it would have been ideal. - A5 Wagyu Deviled Eggs: I've never tried these before but they were actually really delicious! Super cute and perfect as a one bite appetizer. Definitely get the caviar on top if you can as well. - Miso Butterfish: This was pretty good but honestly it was HUGE. I couldn't eat the whole thing but I appreciated that it wasn't tiny. I think it came with way too much of the rice, but everything was pretty tasty together. - Butcher's Special Steak Cut: Really, really good. The steak was perfectly cooked. How can you go wrong? - Complimentary Birthday Dessert: I don't know exactly what it was, but it was so cute and really good! Overall, Solera is a pretty solid place for a nice date night or a special occasion. The only thing that knocks it from a 5 star to a 4 is that it is on the expensive side especially for an ala-carte menu. They do have a chef's pre-fixe menu at $100 per person which is much more reasonable, but we didn't care for the pre-fixe menu items at the time of visiting. Regardless, I'll definitely be back when I want to splurge on a dinner!

First drink I tried to order was listed on the menu but server said it wasn't available. Sounded like the menu is undergoing some changes. 5/5 not your average mai tai. Bestie loved it. 5/5 Lilikoi margarita. This was pretty good. Small but tasty. 5/5 truffle fries starter. Shoestring fries perfectly crispy and the aioli was amazing. Generous Parmesan on top which was appreciated. 2/5 ordered a wedge salad appetizer to come out before the meal but it came out AFTER the meal. Missing the bacon and blue cheese crumbles were on the salad which wasn't listed on the menu. The lettuce looked wilted and onions looked old. Honestly super disappointing. 4/5 Huli Huli chicken. Rice was a bit dry but the chicken was really good. 5/5 Haupia French toast. What a star!! We prob didn't eat this until 30 minutes after the meal arrived since we had salad and chicken to eat, and holy moly this made up for everything. Treated it as a dessert and it was creamy in the middle and crunchy on top. The center was like a custard filling. Service was not great but she was trying. I think she may have been new, the things she was saying just needed some polish and refinement. She tried to check in periodically but kept forgetting us. Even mentioning the bacon on the salad I think the response was "oh man I don't know what's up with that". Lol! I would have taken a slice of bacon to crumble myself but nothing was offered. Overall I'd come back for the fries, drinks and French toast!
