That's the coconut shrimp platter so manage your expectations on the portions for the price

Great ambiance with friendly staff in a cool location for people watching and enjoying drinks. I had three different people come help throughout my visit but my server was new and he didn't really tend to us. Bar tender was cool and checked up on us and I'd ask waitress for napkins and refills so they covered down on the rook. The food was okay but it was overpriced considering the small portions. I will say that the main purpose of this place is to drink and the drinks were on point. Next time I come it'll be to day drink after already eating because I like the scene and the outdoor atmosphere would be great to talk and sip

Amazing experience at The Boardroom in Kailua. The food was absolutely incredible and you can tell the chefs really care about what they're putting out. Huge shoutout to Chef Shannan and the rest of the team -- everything we had was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was also top notch. Super friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I'd 100% recommend this spot to anyone in the area. Definitely coming back!

Ahh... the Boardroom. Very cool branding and outdoorsy enough to suite casual dining patrons. It's not ritzy so don't take your bougie friends. It's very laid back with dark woods and perfect lighting so take your eclectic friends. This place is in Kailua on a side street and has the neat boho string lights. A shop owner let me know parking is not enforced after 5. We got a decent spot adjacent to the entry. Parking is always going to be a choke point for my dining experience. Now.... Free parking that's not too hard to navigate and not too busy? That's always a win for me. I made a reservation on the "Resy" application to make sure the birthday plans I created in my mind weren't foiled. I originally wanted to go to The Gaslamp, until I saw this place. I was thinking about bringing my children, but I'm glad I didn't. This place is mysterious and romantic. They seemed to have some Halloween decorations strewn about. I get it, but the natural vibe was spooky enough (in a good way). Whoever put together the aesthetics did their job. I wanted there to be music, so I figured pacing our meal was the right move. Though there was no live music while we were there, there was a decent playlist on. Our waiters were pleasant but the establishment seemed a little short staffed. Im glad we caught them at 530ish when we did. Hosting (from the receptionist to the waiters- we had 2, kinda) wasn't super intimate or personable, but certainly the norm for restaurant hospitality on the island. We ordered a Salad, Vinson Empanadas, and the Ribeye. From the reviews and website, we expected there to be live music around 6, but I guess we would've needed to show a little later for that. We left around 7 and the band was just setting up and going through sound check. The food may not wow you, but its enough not to negatively alter the collective vibe. My overall experience was over marginal and my date said the food was a 10/10. Id like to go back some time when it's later in the night. I'll bet its perfect with live music.

We went to The Boardroom in Kailua for Valentine's Day and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm, intimate, and special -- exactly what you want for a date night. We started with the roasted pepper bruschetta and it was unbelievably fresh and flavorful. Every bite tasted bright and perfectly balanced. Then we had the panionos, which were insanely good and packed with flavor. For our main, we shared the ribeye with chimichurri and wow -- it was cooked to perfection, juicy, and the chimichurri added the perfect herby kick. And dessert... the empanadas with vanilla Dole Whip were next level. Warm, crispy empanadas with cold, creamy Dole Whip was such a genius combo and honestly one of the best desserts we've had in a long time. Everything from the food to the atmosphere made our Valentine's dinner feel truly special. We'll definitely be back

I swear, Kailua is soooo lucky to have this craft cocktail spot!!! Aannnndddd, they have killer food also... aww come on! This is where I go when I have a very unique and special crafted concoction in mind. OR when I'm cravinh the MOST bad @$$ drink on island! I also love to be educated and turned on to new creative drinks or/also enjoy a twist on a classic cocktail. This spot is hidden behind the Garden, and has the perfect aesthetic... I never hit this spot without ordering the oven roasted bone marrow and oysters on the half shell! Hella love to Jarel and Michael blowing my mind at this spot!

Had a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was clean, cozy, and inviting. Everything we ordered exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back! Everything was spectacular We really enjoyed it especially the manager And Our server, they were sooo sweet and hardworking!

Dole Whip pineapple and vanilla w a rum floater! Yessahhh

We live the down the street and we could not be happier about this improvement to the neighborhood. I have never had a bad experience here, the service is fast and friendly, the drinks are PERFECT and the environment is fun! Live music, TVs for sporting events, and space for your kiddos and dogs to enjoy. Perfect for after the beach. So lucky to live Kailua. HUGE neighborhood improvement. Thank you Boardroom.

I finally went back to The Boardroom after more than 6 months to see how they're doing. My buddy and I went out to enjoy HH at another establishment, then top the night off with some bone marrow and cocktails at The Boardroom. The vibe is a bit more subdued than a year ago, but it's still classy. The menu has gone thru some changes, but it still offers my favorites; bone marrow and oysters that aren't offered at many other establishments. As with most bars and restaurants, the prices have gone up, and the portion size has gotten smaller, but that's unfortunately pretty common. The quality is still great, which is a definite plus. The bar was full, so we took the corner table. The manager, Grant, was still there, and they have several new wait staff and a bartender. The staff is friendly and the service is still good. I had the Ohia Revival, which was the first cocktail I tried there, years ago, while my buddy tried one of their new whiskey cocktails. They were both good, as was the bone marrow. They have started a new program to incentivize reviews on social media. They gave me a card for a comp appetizer on the next visit, but I have to show a review. All in all, it was a nice evening and I hope they have much success.

The vibe at the Boardroom in Kailua is definitely cute and nice for a date night or girls night out. The drinks are delicious but I actually prefer the ones in the beer garden vs the menu. Service is welcoming and friendly as always. My only dislike was the menu. There are only 4 entree options and a handful of appetizers. I had the Pan Seared Hebi but wasn't much of a fan. It was a bit overcooked and kind of tasted like overcooked chicken with a fishy taste. Was hoping they'd have some more menu options so if you're looking for a dinner date, I'm not sure this is the place for you. If you're looking for a nice hang out spot with some delicious drinks, this may be for you.

The staff at this establishment is exceptionally well-mannered and professional. I am enjoying a refreshing Coconut Passion Fruit Daiquiri Slushy, which is offered in a variety of flavors each day. I am particularly fond of blended drinks. Every evening, the establishment features live music performances by different artists. Tonight, the artist is "Brant Swigart".

Came here for the first time tonight for a girls night and had such a great time! The butterfly bramble cocktail and empanadas were so yummy. Our server Genesis was so sweet and knowledgeable!

    Any vegetarian/vegan options?

I'm sorry, but I don't remember seeing those options. I'm sure that they could accommodate in someway as most restaurants do nowadays especially in Kailua.

We did end up leaving shortly after because it was very crowded (on Halloween, as expected) and just wasn't the vibe. People may say that 3 stars is harsh, but for a dive bar that's exactly where the bar is. I would go again, but not without a good group with me.

They have a small parking lot right in front of the place and Apple street parking and other parking nearby. Being in the food industry for many years I believe good food doesn't have to cost that much, and I'd leave most fancy places hungry cause they give you small portions (I'm 6'6. A big dude who loves to eat). While this place is on the pricier end for my taste, I do think it's completely worth it. We ended up here for our anniversary and I think this spot is great for special occasions. It's an intimate atmosphere with live jazz music, the bartender Clark was very knowledgeable about drink recipes, the food was delicious, and the service was amazing. This place was an experience. Not just getting served expensive food. We probably spent $400 that night for 2 people, but thats what you would spend at a nice steak house anyways. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already.

The bad: we received our "pass phrase" to get in for our reservation, but when we arrived at the telephone door they just asked for our name...defeating the point of a speakeasy experience. Then the waitress had us stand in a very crammed and busy walkway in the pub for 10/15 minutes only to tell us they had no tables available and that we have to sit at the bar (the barstools had no backs and were uncomfortable). It was very loud and small in the actual restaurant, and as they bussed all the other tables dirty plates they were staging them right in front of us at the bar? Not really what I want to look at all night if I'm paying over 130+ per person. Fortunately someone was a no show and they moved us to a table. I recommend stating you want a table when making reservations. The food: our food came out really fast and most of it was top tier and delicious in every way possible! Although, I did not care for the crab and artichoke dip. The crab was shredded and could easily be replicated with canned crab. If it were lump crab/chunky and bigger pieces of artichoke it would be way better in my opinion. The charred octopus was good but one tentacle was very rubbery while the other was soft and cooked well, I wouldn't get this again. The Yacht: hands down the best seafood tower I have ever tried. The seafood was bursting with flavor and most surprisingly it was grilled. The meat was still warm but placed on top of a bed of ice. The variety of lobsters, crab, shrimp, and the oysters were phenomenal. The mignonette and melted butter were perfect. Dutch Veal Chop: possibly the best piece of meat I've eaten in a very long time! The veal charred to perfection and the meat was so tender. The flavors were on point. Desserts: we tried the creme brûlée and butter cake. Again, I think this is my favorite crème brûlée! The flavor, texture and toppings were perfect. The butter cake was warm and melt in your mouth. Gaslamp is very expensive. If you come here knowing it's tucked in the back of a very crammed dive bar, and the actual restaurant it self is tavern-like and you probably can't see half the food you're eating you'll be fine lol. Oh yes, there was also a fire dancer on top of the bar in the middle of our meal, which was pretty cool!

I first came with my friend for dinner and I came with my mom for brunch after her dentist appointment, because I wanted to show her what became of the beloved Four Star Chop Suey decades ago. Brunch menu was not the usual breakfast items that we were used to, but I ordered what I thought she would like best. The Oxtail was flavorful and delicious, The homemade breads were so warm and fresh. The breads were served with the seasonal hummus, and I love the citrus mint dressing on the fruits! So refreshing! Speaking of, "seasoning"... the food here is seasoned very well. As one enters, the nostrils fill with a rich aromatic blend of spices like earthy cumin and smoky chipotle. Hints of garlic, and onions, citrusy cilantro, roasted chiles, and simmering beans, envelope visitors as soon as they enter. There is a vibe that the management respects and cares for it's customers, and takes pride in offering quality food. I don't know the origin story of the restaurant, I imagine the owner, at some point in his life, had some really amazing Mexican food in an amazing setting, and then decided that he wanted to share that experience with others. That brings us to the ambiance of Bowles... In addition to serving really good food, every time that I have come here, I have enjoyed the energy that the place gives off. Patrons and employees always seem to be having a relaxed, good time (well, the workers can't really relax, but they seem happy). People greet each other with bro-hugs, fist-bumps, and sincere friendly smiles. In addition to a small, welcoming bar that is attached to the restaurant, large screen televisions are strategically placed through out (to show football, basketball, or surf tournaments). The decor has an understated beach / surfer vibe and the seating is comfortable. I was by myself, last night, but every time I bring family and friends here, both the food and the atmosphere are a hit. There's a country singer named, Toby Keith, who wrote a song about a bar titled, "I love this bar" (Google it and listen to the song, it's a good song, but it also kinda-perfectly describes the vibe that this place has given off when I've been here.) My original plan was to get my order to go eat it at home, but when I noticed the place was filled with people having a good time, I decided to order a margarita and bask in the glow of people being comfortable and having fun. Mmmm...mmmm....mmmm...mm....mmm I love this burrito bar. (*You have to know the song to get this reference) .

The night we went there were 2 musicians playing great music and taking requests. One even had a trombone! There are lounge couches, high tops and picnic style tables, some indoor, some outdoor under a tent. Nice local art on walls. We loved the craft cocktails especially the Old Fashioned. The tasting board of their different blends was great too! Taco night was some darn good home cooking ! Carlitos is a family run business and you can tell they really care about the food. We had the pork tacos and the pork was amazing! The refried beans were some of the best we ever had. This distillery is fun for couples, families, and groups of friends. There are also some games around for little kids, who were hanging in the outdoor tent. Definitely worth a visit !

They do have a large parking lot. They don't do reservations. But this is less of a problem here then other places. We were not lucky with the weather, if it was good, the ground are beautiful gardens. They do have one of the best waiting areas I've ever seen, as well as a bar area, to wait in, so you are not hovering over others as they eat. You can also order drinks and apps in the area. Their mango margarita was standout, "it tastes just like a mango!" The restaurant appears to be arranged so that most tables have some of a view of their open patio. Even with the rain, it was lovely, and they lit touches as it grew dark. The menu is the right size, I think a more focused menu lends to better food. We had difficulty deciding as everything sounded great. We started with their poke, very good, and nicely presented. I had the grilled fish, which was great, and my friends had two very different steaks. One got the prime rib, and it was on theme for our dinosaur tour at the ranch. It arrived as big as her head, all three of us could have enjoyed it. Great experience and I hope to return without the side of rain.

We did a walk-in and the wait was a little over an hour, which sucked, but it wasn't as bad since we sat in the lounge area, ordered apps, and our server there was super nice and attentive. Once we got seated, our server was kind, just a bit quiet/reserved. Only got talkative when he as trying to upsell the dessert. The food though... very mid. I asked for medium rare and got a steak that was clearly undercooked--cold in the center and no flavor at all. We had waited so long I figured I'd just take it back to my room and cook it more myself. I literally had to dip it into my husband's chicken plate sauce just to get some taste. For apps, we got the spicy poke, ceviche, and garlic bread. The "spicy" poke wasn't spicy, and the ceviche had basically no flavor. Garlic bread was okay, and the house bread was warm and soft, but everything else just felt really underwhelming. I didn't even wanna bother order dessert because I couldn't take being disappointed again. Nothing was nasty, just no flavor AT ALL and nothing stood out. You're mostly paying for the view. It's cute, but unless you make a reservation and go just for that, I'd save your time and money. Don't be like me and spend almost 200$ for food with no flavor.

The big downside for me was that we were seated right where the AC was blasting so it made the experience not as enjoyable. Thankfully I brought my jacket but even then, I was freezing. I was looking around to see if we could move somewhere else but they don't have much two seater options; the best one was the table against the wall so it avoids the AC... another small downside was our server's attitude. She kinda seemed like she didn't want to be there. She wasn't the worst but a more friendlier, welcoming attitude would of been nice We ordered a decent amount of food: Bolinhos de Bacalhau (Cod + Potato Croquettes), Salt and Vinegar Onion Rings, Caldeirada De Pescadora (Fisherman's Stew), Alcatra (Pot Roast), and Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese Custard Tarts) The two appetizers were one of our favorites! I don't know how they get it so light and crispy and paired with the herb mayo sauce (from the croquettes) gave it a nice tanginess. The entree portions were huge! We could of easily shared because we came out super full. I was pretty shocked by the amount of seafood the Fisherman's Stew came with and for $30, it was so worth it! I definitely recommend adding a bread basket to soak up the extra soup (they only give one) or I wish they had rice to pair alongside with it. You can also tell how popular a dish is when you look around and see almost everyone eating it! I wouldn't mind coming back again but they do get booked up so always best to make a reservation ahead of time
