My uncle found this cute spot while we were sightseeing the island. The cutest and cutest little restaurant. We stopped by for lunch and I feel like we got there just on time because shortly after they got really busy! I ordered a lychee martini that was a tad strong but still tasty. I also ordered the kai fruit salad with chicken which was perfectly refreshing. There is patio seating but we sat inside in what felt like a private nunk of the restaurant. Our service was super nice and tentative. We had a greatly experience overall.

Love this kitschy place with personality and lovely, friendly service! I finally got to go here for dinner with some friends last night as I've been hearing about it for quite some time. They have a variety of cuts of beef, pork, chicken, plus a couple fish choices that can be cooked any way you like - Chinese steamed, blackened, fried, etc. Since it's a steakhouse, I wanted the Top Sirloin of course (6 oz was just right for me - tasty and cooked to perfection!) with Spinach Salad (love this refreshing salad with bacon bits and egg), plus a side order of garlic mashed potatoes (fluffy and ono!) - perfect meal and completely happy and satisfied! My friends ordered dessert: Key Lime pie, lava cake and haupia ice cream - I got tastes of each - all were yummy!! I'm a fan and hope to be back really soon! Happy Holidays, everyone!

Buzz's is a nice place to visit to get lunch in Kailua! It's right next to the beach so you don't have to walk very far if you're at the beach! They have delicious cocktails and a very chill vibe! We really enjoyed everything that we ordered! I got the chicken teriyaki which was flavorful and came with deliciously crunchy fries! Our table split a salad which we ordered with chicken, and it was very refreshing and tasty!! We also ordered their baby top sirloin which was perfectly cooked and a fantastic steak option! you can't go wrong with anything here! our server was very friendly and recommended that I try their Kailua Passion cocktail which was a rum and lilikoi flavored drink (passion fruit) it was very good and refreshing!!

We really enjoyed our visit to Buzz's, a nice afternoon spot for a couple of beers and some appetizers. The poke was absolutely delicious and the calamari steak was out of this world! We were treated wonderfully by the hostess and the bartender and couldn't have asked for a better afternoon! Would definitely go back!

What a lovely, breezy, dining experience right across the street from Kailua beach. Sit outside if you can . The food was beautifully plated and delicious. Portion sizes are good for the prices as well. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food took a little while to come out but everything tasted like it was from scratch so it was worth it.

A good meal with a great view! We sat out on the patio which was right next to the busy road but literally right across was the beach! The food was average - the teriyaki chicken burger tasted like a plate lunch on a burger bun, but the fries were nice and crispy and the tomato chicken pesto soup was phenomenal. The dessert was the highlight - the cinnamon bread pudding and mint chocolate chip ice cream pie with Oreo-crusted crust was amazing. Really nice service.

Best French dip I've had in awhile. The prime rib was so tender you could eat it with no teeth. Seriously. My waitress was very interactive and knew her menu. I did go with her recommendation and it didn't disappoint. Sat outside viewing the beach and people watching was great definitely will be back to try something else . I was so chill.

Went during lunch time at around 2 pm on a Saturday. It was a little bit of a wait, maybe 20 minutes. Then we were seated inside. They had a special for lunch which was Fish and Chips, so I decided to get that. My friend got the Baby Top Sirloin. We both really enjoyed our meal. The fish and chips were not greasy and perfectly crispy, and had a good sauce and slaw. For dessert, I decided to try the Cocolada dessert. All it really was is vanilla ice cream with a bit of toasted coconut on top and limes to squeeze. It was good but it was ultimately just ice cream. Came with a lot though, and was $9. Our waitress was also super nice and funny. Overall I had a good lunch experience. I will say, I was seated in the back area and there was an excessive amount of flies flying around and kept trying to land on our food. It was a bit annoying, and I wish there was fly catchers or something to help that issue out.

We love Buzz's! Every year we have a family dinner when my sister comes to visit from the mainland. Food is always excellent! And, the mai tais!!! The service was great! It's a perfect place for our yearly family get together. This place never disappoints!

While the vibe of the restaurant was immaculate on the beachfront, the food was lackluster compared to the prices. Steak was cooked paniolo cowboy style - to a temperature, which we recommend. The steak calamari was the highlight, crisp and buttery. The garlic mash was small compared to the amount they gave. The veggies looked like previously frozen which was quite surprising. Service was decent. Parking lot was small

The ambience... your dining by the beach. The service ... if you end up with Leslie as your server - she provides an exquisite service as well as an uplifting smile. Overall experience was very good. Highly recommend Top Sirloin 10ounces comes with Caesar salad, 4 pieces of asparagus. Next time you are in Oahu ... visit Kailua.

Tried to call to make a reservation the number isn't working could there number have changed?

    Power was out today!

Do they have a salad bar for lunch and dinner?

No salad bar that I have ever seen. Just salads in the menu.

Is it less crowded on weekday tha weekend?

They take reservations. I would suggest reservations any time you'll like to go. Seems consistently busy.

Is it still open for lunch?

It was when we ate there on vacation in February. My suggestion would be to call them on the phone old skool and ask.

How busy is it on a week night? Are reservations recommended?

Yes it's busy what ever time you go, definitely recommend reservations.

    What is there dress code?

    Island casual

Do they open on Thanksgiving day?

No, closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Do they have a salad bar like the one they had in Pearl City?

Yes, they do it's really good!

Do they have any vegan options on their dinner menu?

You could probably have a green salad, would not expect vegan here. They are such a small operation that's very well attended and probably don't feel the need to venture too far beyond steak.

When you arrive here, head to the host stand that is located outside on the outskirts of where the turf grass meets the pavement. When we were seated inside, there's a few seats at the bar, and also bench/2-top seating on the opposite wall. We were a party of 3, though we were seated next to each other, the gap was rather large, so we physically pushed our tables together. Low cocktail round tables (thus the spacing of the dishes/drinks was a bit awkward later on in the evening). The bartender came by to take our drinks but also asked us if we had reservations, because the area that we were seated in was reserved for another party at a later time. We thought this was strange, because the host up front was the one who confirmed our reservation and sat us in that very spot. Shortly after, the bartender then came back to say that it was ok for us to stay there and then proceeded to take our order. After that occurrence, the service didn't necessarily get exponentially better, but it also wasn't absolutely horrible. **NOTED UPDATE: We were at this establishment in June 2025, these pictures were not taken from 3 years ago. There were a few steps to the door of the restaurant but as we exit the waitress let my mom through the back which had no stairs but a ramp leading to the side parking along the restaurant right side, since she was using a walker. I first came with my friend for dinner and I came with my mom for brunch after her dentist appointment, because I wanted to show her what became of the beloved Four Star Chop Suey decades ago. Brunch menu was not the usual breakfast items that we were used to, but I ordered what I thought she would like best. We had Breakfast Hash with potatoes, sausage, cheese, eggs, bell peppers but the sauce was a little spicy for mom. There were ingredients in the sauce which maybe was too much for mom. Citrus mint fruit salad, and Southern Chicken Biscuit and Gravy. The gravy was different.fitness good but, I preferred the dinner selection when I came with a friend who traveled all the way from Kapolei for some shared dishes and appetizers. The Oxtail was flavorful and delicious, The homemade breads were so warm and fresh. The breads were served with the seasonal hummus, and I love the citrus mint dressing on the fruits! So refreshing! She wasn't the worst but a more friendlier, welcoming attitude would of been nice We ordered a decent amount of food: Bolinhos de Bacalhau (Cod + Potato Croquettes), Salt and Vinegar Onion Rings, Caldeirada De Pescadora (Fisherman's Stew), Alcatra (Pot Roast), and Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese Custard Tarts) The two appetizers were one of our favorites! I don't know how they get it so light and crispy and paired with the herb mayo sauce (from the croquettes) gave it a nice tanginess. The entree portions were huge! We could of easily shared because we came out super full. I was pretty shocked by the amount of seafood the Fisherman's Stew came with and for $30, it was so worth it! I definitely recommend adding a bread basket to soak up the extra soup (they only give one) or I wish they had rice to pair alongside with it. It's an intimate atmosphere with live jazz music, the bartender Clark was very knowledgeable about drink recipes, the food was delicious, and the service was amazing. This place was an experience. The bad: we received our "pass phrase" to get in for our reservation, but when we arrived at the telephone door they just asked for our name...defeating the point of a speakeasy experience. Then the waitress had us stand in a very crammed and busy walkway in the pub for 10/15 minutes only to tell us they had no tables available and that we have to sit at the bar (the barstools had no backs and were uncomfortable). It was very loud and small in the actual restaurant, and as they bussed all the other tables dirty plates they were staging them right in front of us at the bar? Not really what I want to look at all night if I'm paying over 130+ per person. Fortunately someone was a no show and they moved us to a table. I recommend stating you want a table when making reservations. The food: our food came out really fast and most of it was top tier and delicious in every way possible! Although, I did not care for the crab and artichoke dip. The crab was shredded and could easily be replicated with canned crab. If it were lump crab/chunky and bigger pieces of artichoke it would be way better in my opinion. The charred octopus was good but one tentacle was very rubbery while the other was soft and cooked well, I wouldn't get this again. The Yacht: hands down the best seafood tower I have ever tried. The seafood was bursting with flavor and most surprisingly it was grilled. The meat was still warm but placed on top of a bed of ice. The variety of lobsters, crab, shrimp, and the oysters were phenomenal. The mignonette and melted butter were perfect. Dutch Veal Chop: possibly the best piece of meat I've eaten in a very long time! The veal charred to perfection and the meat was so tender. The flavors were on point. Desserts: we tried the creme brûlée and butter cake. Again, I think this is my favorite crème brûlée! The flavor, texture and toppings were perfect. The butter cake was warm and melt in your mouth. Gaslamp is very expensive. If you come here knowing it's tucked in the back of a very crammed dive bar, and the actual restaurant it self is tavern-like and you probably can't see half the food you're eating you'll be fine lol. Oh yes, there was also a fire dancer on top of the bar in the middle of our meal, which was pretty cool!

Staff is always friendly, and I love their ube cocktail. Whiskey is the cat (and official mascot) hes so friendly, and love seeing him as hes living the good life (much bigger than on my last trip lol!!). Super chill place! Its definitely hard to find, in a warehouse area but they have tons of signs and Google maps will take you right there. Definitely worth the drive!

Great space hidden in the back of an industrial zone (with nice landscaping FYI) this distillery…read moreoffers tours and craft cocktails with live entertainment / trivia nights plus food trucks. The night we went there were 2 musicians playing great music and taking requests. One even had a trombone! There are lounge couches, high tops and picnic style tables, some indoor, some outdoor under a tent. Nice local art on walls. We loved the craft cocktails especially the Old Fashioned. The tasting board of their different blends was great too! Taco night was some darn good home cooking ! Carlitos is a family run business and you can tell they really care about the food. We had the pork tacos and the pork was amazing! The refried beans were some of the best we ever had. This distillery is fun for couples, families, and groups of friends. There are also some games around for little kids, who were hanging in the outdoor tent. Definitely worth a visit !

Yay for being yelp elite. We got to visit this place for our yelp elite experience. This particular…read moreestablishment is tucked in one of the side streets of Kailua, opposite side from Hamakua, where get Oh My Grill, LexBreezy, KFC.. at that end street on the corner. They don't have parking so you have to find street parking. We went to go visit today, Wednesday. They open 8AM to 9PM everyday, and we got there around 10AM ish. Upon entering, you enter through the short wooden gate by sliding it lol. Was all confused because signs said "the Garden to your left, Boardroom to the right", so we kind of passed the entrance, going around the corner, and noticed that there wasn't another entrance on the other side, and that's when we figured the short wooden sliding gate was the entrance lol as you walk in, it's an outdoor establishment, lots of seats everywhere. With this yelp elite experience, we got to have a pizza and a dole whip. They have a menu posted up, and you order at the truck. They don't start serving pizza till 11, so we left cuz we was too early, and wanted to take advantage of our yelp perk, so went to go run errands and came back around 2PM ish. We got a pepperoni pizza, vanilla dole whip, and I ordered a maitai. Pizza was good. Dole whip was good, and Maitai was good. Everything was good! I loved that we got to make our way here to take advantage of my yelp elite perk because if wasn't for this yelp event, on any other normal day, we would just pass this place, not even knowing what this place has to offer! One thing about this place is that it's hotttt, if u go in the day. And for me, alcohol and hotness does not go together lol Since they open till 9, I would think it's probably cooler when sun is down. Love pet friendly places. We got to bring our jellybean with us. Cool spot to chill, have a few. Shout out to Eric for taking care of us. Awesome customer service. Only had him working all morning. Go check this place out. Don't forget to tip :)
