Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Feels like home . Nicely decorated. Portugese food . We ordered Portugese bean soup to start, entrees included Alcatra ( Pot Roast) very good, VINHA D'ALHOS (GARLIC PORK) Very different culturally but delicious. LAULAU STEW, very nice flavor for Hawaii . Desserts was scrumptious, PASTEIS DE NATA (PORTUGUESE CUSTARD, very fresh, crispy and tasty, And last I can't say how yummy this last one was. Special that I do not know the name of with blue berries and strawberries mixed with their cheesecake made into a parfait ice cream dish. Service was excellent. Water was filled every 5 minutes it seemed . Waitress was very nice. Reservations are a must.

Super hard to get in with larger parties Made a trip from Seattle once we got in Everything is fantastic Best chicken wings.. fall off the bone on the planet

Absolutely a GEM! i'm here for a girls night and got the potato croquette, which tasted like the outside of a corn dog haha but the cod croquettes good! Next we got the whole fish branzino then the pot roast and the pork dish which were all absolutely incredible! Our waitress Charlie was very dismissive and rude which is a shame because I guess she is part owner. Other than that is an incredible restaurant!

We discovered this restaurant after some social media post. Located in Kailua with limited parking (2-3 stalls) at the restaurant. There are metered street parking available. We were pretty excited to try out the Portuguese food here since we were heading to Portugal. I am writing this after my trip to Portugal. Reservation is a must as spots are available one month out. Must be popular! The restaurant's ambiance and decoration felt so cozy and homie feeling. Service was excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes to try. Here are my thoughts about the dishes. - Linguica assada: sausage on fire, such an amazing presentation. Not much of a sausage eater, but my partner liked it. I thought it was a little bit salty. But not bad. - Cod fish potatoes croquette: I enjoyed this appetizer. Crispy and flavorful. Also quite filling. - Portuguese soup - a little on the salty side, but pretty good. -Vinha d alhos- shredded pork with a savory and vinegary taste. I liked it. - Alcatra (roast pork): shredded pork was so tender, flavorful too -Fisherman's stew: There was a savory and sour taste to the stew. I like that it came with a bread ( kind of like focaccia). Soo good dipped in the stew. -Pasteis de nata: OMG! The best part. This dessert was so fresh, so crispy, and so delicious! - Vinho verde (green wine): I don't usually drink alcohol. But I'm quite amazed how good this wine was. I can honestly say that the food here is excellent and delicious. The taste and flavor is as good as the food in Portugal. Definitely a must try!

Cute date night place in Kailua! Very romantic vibes and I love how it isn't too loud like some places. The big downside for me was that we were seated right where the AC was blasting so it made the experience not as enjoyable. Thankfully I brought my jacket but even then, I was freezing. I was looking around to see if we could move somewhere else but they don't have much two seater options; the best one was the table against the wall so it avoids the AC... another small downside was our server's attitude. She kinda seemed like she didn't want to be there. She wasn't the worst but a more friendlier, welcoming attitude would of been nice We ordered a decent amount of food: Bolinhos de Bacalhau (Cod + Potato Croquettes), Salt and Vinegar Onion Rings, Caldeirada De Pescadora (Fisherman's Stew), Alcatra (Pot Roast), and Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese Custard Tarts) The two appetizers were one of our favorites! I don't know how they get it so light and crispy and paired with the herb mayo sauce (from the croquettes) gave it a nice tanginess. The entree portions were huge! We could of easily shared because we came out super full. I was pretty shocked by the amount of seafood the Fisherman's Stew came with and for $30, it was so worth it! I definitely recommend adding a bread basket to soak up the extra soup (they only give one) or I wish they had rice to pair alongside with it. You can also tell how popular a dish is when you look around and see almost everyone eating it! I wouldn't mind coming back again but they do get booked up so always best to make a reservation ahead of time

Faria is our favorite date night spot. It's a little difficult to get a reservation, but it's so worth the wait. The food is delicious! I'm obsessed with their Portuguese bean soup and their version of tiramisu is delectable!! The service is on point and the ambiance is calm and relaxed. Way to go Faria

Located across Kailua Elementary, Faria is quite possibly one of the best restaurants on the island. The prices are fair and the food is spectacular. Faria offers great Portuguese food. I've never thought I'd enjoy food out of my usual stuff I eat. PARKING Street parking was what we found. There are a couple of stalls right in front of the entrance but I do suggest parking outside RESTAURANT Clean and dimly lit, but you can still get enough light. Kitchen and the restaurant are is clean. Waiters and staff is super friendly and will guide you to the right dishes. Our party did enjoy the different types of cocktails they offered. The restaurant is casual so you don't have to dress fancy of you don't want to. FOOD I don't I disliked anything here. The BOLINHOS DE BACALHAU was so good. We could have easily eaten 2 orders with our party of three. Salt and vinegar wings were super crispy with lots of flavors. Pot roast was great too. You might wanna order the bread basket to scoop up all the goodness on the bottom. My wife had the whole Bransino fish which was crispy and also packed with flavor. The Piri Piri chicken with potatoes. The chicken had excellent flavor and it was tender. The Piri Piri sauce, that comes in a chicken bottle was a nice addition to all the dishes. Nice and spicy addition. We could've poured the entire bottle out. If I was asked to invite Gordon Ramsey and introduce him to one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in Hawaii, Faria would definitely be in my top 3.

Beautiful Mozambique shrimp swimming in Peri peri sauce. Stay away if u don't like spicy

This really is the cutest little restaurant in kailua. Staff are lovely and I continue to return as I do enjoy the ambiance. That being said I chose to celebrate my birthday here. I was told that not all their dishes were stellar and now that I've experienced this I can attest to such. Really had a hankering for shrimp & chose the Mozambique although I was forewarned it was spicy and others have sent it back. I suggested if they would adjust the amount of sauce in the dish. Nope not possible as this is how the dishes are prepared & each dish tells a story. Ok, I should have asked to hear the story. But we know anything is possible and my request was not ridiculous.... I do enjoy spicy but honestly the peri peri sauce overpowers the excellently cooked shrimp & couscous. Unfortunately I could not finish it. Since it was my birthday I should have something I'm throughly enjoying. It was taken back and replaced with the peri peri chicken. Now the funniest thing is I am familiar with peri peri sauce. Expected more from this chicken dish but it really was too mild. I didn't mind that it wasn't super succulent but it lacked in flavor. However the cabbage and potatoes that accompanied it were lovely. I still like this restaurant overall in spite of a mildly disappointing experience. I also would have appreciated if they did not charge me $34 for the dish I could not finish on my bd. Honestly, Goen would never do that. It's very rare every dish in a restaurant is excellent. So you just need to know what to order. FYI, they must have the best wings in town!

I wanted to wait before writing this review, since our first dinner at Faria felt almost too good to be true. After returning for a second time, I can confidently say--it wasn't. Both experiences were absolute culinary delights. It has been a long time since we've discovered another true destination restaurant in Hawaii, one that stands alongside favorites like Fête and a very select few others on the islands. In fact, Faria would fit seamlessly into the dining scenes of our favorite places--Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Tribeca, Soho, Paris--or even right at home. What sets Faria apart and places it in such elite company comes down to several things, all equally important. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, the genuine aloha spirit defines the experience. The floor staff move with an effortless grace, almost like a choreographed dance, and their knowledge of each dish feels as though they've cooked them themselves. The ambiance transports you directly to a charming Portuguese fishing village--warm, immaculate, and inviting. The owners, too, embody genuine hospitality: present but never overbearing, driven simply by their love for what they do. While we are not experts on Portuguese cuisine, we were instantly captivated by the depth and complexity of flavors layered throughout each dish. As wine educators and consultants, we especially appreciated the thoughtful wine selections, each pairing beautifully with the food. Our experience concluded perfectly with a memorable taste of a stunning Port wine. Over the course of our two visits, we enjoyed: * Bolinhos de Bacalhau // Cod + Potato Croquettes with lemon and herb mayo * Linguiça Assada // House linguica, served sizzling over a flame * Portuguese Bean Soup // A hearty blend of cabbage, sausage, smoked ham, and white beans * Granny Pereira's Piripiri Chicken // Whole roasted chicken leg with piripiri spice rub, lemon potatoes, and braised cabbage * Vinha D'alhos (Garlic Pork) // Braised pork with garlic, white wine, braised cabbage, and pão da lareira Each dish was prepared with obvious passion, precision, and respect for tradition, while still feeling vibrant and fresh. Faria is not just another new restaurant in Kailua--it's a rare gem and a true destination in its own right. We can't wait to return. 9/17/2025 RETURNED Couldn't wait to return. Asked for the same table, no problem. Same amazing greeting as if we are family. The service should be cloned and sold to the. Highest bidder. We were tempted to order the same items but decided to do a 180 degree and we ordered three totally different dishes. Each one was as good or better than our last visit. Check out the photos. July 8, 2026 Just another awesome dinner. The Portuguese Bean soup is incredible. Try out their new wines.

I took a detour out of my normal town foodie routine and ventured to Kailua for a birthday meal at Faria with friends. Our party of 7 was seated at a large table and had the pleasure of sharing several family style appetizers, salad, home baked bread and delicious entrees. It was my first experience having Portuguese cuisine outside of friends homes growing up, and they definitely curate a cozy, family environment that is welcoming to small and large groups alike. Our server was incredibly friendly and explained the entire menu including specials to us in a way nothing short of artistic. The best part was everything tasted as delicious as it sounded!! Will come back for sure to celebrate something special, if we're ever out of urban Honolulu.

One of my favorite restaurants of all time. You walk in a you are transported to your great-grandmas house. The ambience is great and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The salt and vinegar chicken wings are the best wings I've ever had. 10/10 recommend to everyone who eats here! The whole branzino is a family favorite, it's a huge portion so plan on sharing. Everything I've had has been amazing.... But the best part of the whole meal is the dessert. Make sure you save room because you'll want to try it all.... Oh and try their Shirley temple it's

Alcatra (Pot Roast) and Caldeirada De Pescadora (Fisherman's Stew)
    Blanca M.

Came back to Faria for my birthday, I love this place. Just as charming as the last time, and this time we were seated at an intimate table near the bar. We ordered a bottle of Aviana, Portuguese red blend wine. Pão Caseiro, their House Bread Basket severed with a savory butter and sweet cream. Sardinhas, a sardine skillet in a garlicky tomato sauce - phenomenal. Sardines are imported from Portugal and have this rich and salty umami flavor that complements the acidity of the tomatoes. Alcatra or pot roast, my hunny picked this entree. In not sure what I was expecting, it's more than a simple pot roast over mashed potatoes though. It has this rich gravy from the roast that added an extra delicious layer to the dish. Caldeirada De Pescadora aka Fisherman's Stew - a MUST. We came back specifically for this stew, think cioppino, but not. And for dessert, I don't know! It was a special of the day, so it wasn't on the menu! Imagine a crunchy French toast, cubed and rebaked like a bread pudding, topped with a little scoop of ice cream. Amazing. If it's a special not on the menu, get it. We did the same thing at our first visit, with no regrets.

I had the most wonderful time at Faria! The restaurant is absolutely breathtaking! The restaurant is beautiful and inviting! Feels like home, but exudes elegance. I love the sardines can and spam cans, paying homage to its roots. The family portraits tugged at my heart, and the signature Portuguese roosters made me smile. Even the bathroom is gorgeous, and equipped with little thoughtful toiletries such as hand lotion, mouthwash and candies! The staff is unbelievably friendly and kind. The service was memorable, as everyone worked hard to provide a magical experience. Our server took great care of us, anticipating our every need. The food is delicious! My boyfriend and I loved the salt and vinegar wings. We inhaled them. As a seafood lover, the fisherman's stew was an absolute dream. The tomato-y herb stew actually healed me. My boyfriend loved every bit of his pot roast, down to the last drop. If we were hungrier, we would have gotten drinks and dessert--I guess we'll have to come back! Only downside is limited outside parking, but plenty of street (metered) parking nearby. We will be sure to make a reservation and continue to support this local business!

The lamb came with 4 pieces but 2 were cooked good and the other 2 seemed like it could have been cooked a little longer. The fish to me was also over done and a little touch and hard. Absolutely blown away…read more This place was recommended to my partner and I by multiple people so we put in the reservation. Upon arrival, we were asked for a password (which he could not find in his emails hot fortunately they gave us grace lol) then let in. The place was simply lit and each table had a literal gas lamp lighting the space. On the second floor there was a man playing the sax. It was SO gorgeous, Our waitress was great, we were easily influenced by all her suggestions and ended up getting a great meal. We started with drinks. My partner didn't hear her say that the bottom of the menu was "spirit forward" and ordered a VERY strong drink. It actually made for a very giggly and eventful dinner so it was a very happy mistake lol. I got the espresso martini. It was a little creamier than I expected but still tasted really good! I'd order again. Our first appetizer was the Wagyu carpaccio- topped with cilantro (the menu said dill but I saw/ tasted none), fried capers, and caviar. It was surprisingly light and refreshing, basically a meat salad. A beautiful start to our meal. Our second (yes, second) appetizer was the escargot and bone marrow. This was our personal star of the show. A complete 180 to the carpaccio. This was rich, heavy, and decadent. The tomato added a nice balance of acidity to counteract the fatty bone marrow. The escargot was cooked perfectly, no chew but soft and buttery. One of the best bites of my life. The salad it came with was just we needed with it. After this, there was quite a wait until our main entree. A fire dancer came, and danced on the bar counter. I'd say we waited a good 20 minutes until it came out. But we were only impatient because we had plans after dinner. Our main course, which we shared, was the King Arthur- beef Wellington with a side of crab legs. The crab did come out during our appetizers which I appreciated. I only ordered this because I never had beef Wellington before and really wanted to try it LOL, my partner said it was better than the one at hella kitchen! The waitress also talked us into ordering a side of Mac and cheese, and thank GOD she did. It came out piping hot and saucy. There was a slight note of truffle, but it wasn't overpowering, and a nice crust of cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. You definitely get a bang for your buck. It's a hefty buck but it's so worth it.

They let me sit there with my dog, which was nice because it was a perfect evening to enjoy great food and live entertainment!

They don't have parking so you have to find street parking. We went to go visit today, Wednesday. They open 8AM to 9PM everyday, and we got there around 10AM ish. Upon entering, you enter through the short wooden gate by sliding it lol. Was all confused because signs said "the Garden to your left, Boardroom to the right", so we kind of passed the entrance, going around the corner, and noticed that there wasn't another entrance on the other side, and that's when we figured the short wooden sliding gate was the entrance lol as you walk in, it's an outdoor establishment, lots of seats everywhere. With this yelp elite experience, we got to have a pizza and a dole whip. They have a menu posted up, and you order at the truck. They don't start serving pizza till 11, so we left cuz we was too early, and wanted to take advantage of our yelp perk, so went to go run errands and came back around 2PM ish. We got a pepperoni pizza, vanilla dole whip, and I ordered a maitai. Pizza was good. Dole whip was good, and Maitai was good. Everything was good! I loved that we got to make our way here to take advantage of my yelp elite perk because if wasn't for this yelp event, on any other normal day, we would just pass this place, not even knowing what this place has to offer! One thing about this place is that it's hotttt, if u go in the day. And for me, alcohol and hotness does not go together lol Since they open till 9, I would think it's probably cooler when sun is down. Love pet friendly places. We got to bring our jellybean with us. Cool spot to chill, have a few. Shout out to Eric for taking care of us. Awesome customer service. Only had him working all morning. Go check this place out. Don't forget to tip :)

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. As always a great experience with a great casual setting..fair pricing (nothing is considered "cheap" nowdays) ..good food and friendly staff.

I've been here several times now, and it's consistently been a solid 4 out of 5 stars…read more If you're expecting full table service or "princess treatment," this probably isn't the place for you. Water is self-serve, and the setup feels more like a cafeteria than a traditional sit-down restaurant. That said, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes for a pleasant experience. I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, a laid-back environment, and friendly service. I'll definitely keep coming back.
