This past weekend, I went out with my co-workers to your neighboring club. After a few drinks and stepping away a couple of times for restroom and smoke breaks, I unfortunately misplaced my phone. At the end of the night, while I was clearly distressed searching for it, a gentleman introduced himself as the janitor and kindly offered to help by arranging an Uber for us to get home safely. Thankfully, my phone was found by the time the ride arrived, but his kindness and willingness to help left a lasting impression on me. If anyone knows who this kind person is, I would truly appreciate the chance to personally thank him. His thoughtful gesture spoke volumes about the care your staff shows toward your patrons. Great music and had a great time dancing at Latin night with classic reggaeton, a bit of salsa, bachata and merengue, there were some splash of hip hop and pop as well. The venue is definitely small and unfortunately the a/c was nonexistent. My friends and I had to step out couple of times to take a refresher outside. The bartender was great, the girl that made the drinks for me was super nice and enjoyed my drinks! The rest of the staffs were a little rude and not too friendly. Also the area is in Chinatown and didn't feel too safe. Make sure you have Uber ready to go cause they were kicking people out from the streets. read more

This was my first time at this venue, the next-door. I am told that they have a variety of different events and music. This event I believe was private. It was EMO music I guess. With entertainers. It wasn't my vibe so I didn't stay too long. But we did buy a drink and bought something from one of the vendors selling stuff. The venue is large. It look like it had two levels. A large stage at the beginning of the entrance. The people that were working, the event were super friendly. The lines moves quickly. The bar is large and the bartender was friendly. read more

False advertising and poorly managed. Open on time. If you Sell tickets for 8pm. Open at 8. Have people standing out on street in Chinatown 20 min late. Nobody says anything. Yeah non of that sounds like fun About to walk and ask for refund. Supposed to be a cool Xmas kink type show. Not sure what to expect. The door guy is a tool. How long does it take to check ticket and ID? Finally moving at 20 after and now it is one person every few minutes? WTF Finally get inside and it's just a bar with dj one vendor and a stage set for a show. Supposed to be shibari and other cool stuff guess we have to wait a few hours for that too. You know just advertise it's a nightclub with live music and some show. Don't hype it up to be something it's not. False advertising and poorly managed. I want a refund for my 2 tickets for tonight's "event." We were told doors at 8pm but they didn't open till 830. In addition, when we did get in, after waiting in line for almost an hour without ANY word from anyone about the hold up, it was immediately apparent that what was advertised is NOT what was happening. There were supposed to be vendors. One person selling pottery is not what was advertised. One person braiding hair is not what was advertised. Theme night at a bar is NOT what I bought tickets for. I feel duped. Whomever put this event clearly has no Idea about how to put on a professionally organized event. Total SHAM! Total false advertising. This was supposed to be a special night for my husband's birthday and it was ruined by this really poorly crafted "event". I'm incredibly angry and my husband and I will be blasting this on social media and Yelp. What a total let down. Just a bar with a theme. What a joke. Just stick with your bar theme nights, but don't con people into buying tickets to something they think they are going to get. Shame on you. It's 830, and they just started letting people in. Half an hour late, but no courtesy to telling anyone in line that they were having "technical difficulties" Clearly, no one here has a clue about customer service. Had a blast last night at XxXmas! So many live performances! Easy to track based on the posted schedule as advertised. Such a variety with enough time to get a drink refill every hour or so with live DJs all night. The bartenders were so fast! I don't think I've ever gotten drinks that fast at a bar that was so packed! Event last night even had local artists with pottery, leather crafts, and painted art. I'd love to come to another event like it. read more

Really amazing venue, been to several of their events. But my favorites have been the events led by Miss Savvy. Especially on XXXMas the Nextdoor crew was incredibly professional and made sure all the performers had what they needed and made sure they were able to put on a good show. I'm not sure what people are saying, even with technical difficulties and being let in 15 minutes later than scheduled, all the other performances and shows were ON TIME based on what was advertised. So tonight is Mike Izons PURPLE HAZE concert for ALS Fundraiser. We made purchases of 7 tickets total for the WHOLE FAMILY & found out that this was a 21 & over place LAST MINUTE. Luckily I had responded to a reminder email from Jenn who is the ALS coordinator saying we were gonna be there with the kids. Because SHORTLY AFTERWARD they emailed us with an updated reminder stating that it's a 21 & Over venue. Thy FORGOT TO INCLUDE THAT IN ALL OF THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS. ‍‍ IKR! So... instead of waisting ALL the tickets we decided to go and get a refund for the OTHER 5 tickets we purchased online. Hoping to speak with the right person. ITS IN THE MIDDLE OF CHINATOWN down the road from SIN & across the street of DOWNBEAT LOUNGE. It was pretty good considering we came an hour before it was done. Lol!! Other than that... I'm sure there were a lot of fun prior to our arrival. Oh there was this one girl who was drunk OFF HER ASS!!! I mean totally wasted!!! Lol I felt bad for her but that happened within 10 minutes of our arrival. Made our night a bit exciting. The DJ on Sept 9 a Saturday started off ok but devolved into a lackluster playlist of crappy songs. Random girl on stage was annoying. My friend requested "murder she wrote" but he ignored her. Hope the bar can convince the DJ to do a better job or hire someone else. There's a reason why this bar had no line compared to the others nearby. DJ was an amateur. read more

First time I went last Friday night and don't believe I'll be going back. Thought I'd check it out spontaneously with my partner. The girl in line in front of me told me it's $5 for ladies and didn't know how much otherwise. When we got to the front the lady told us it would be $60 ($30) each and must've seen my shocked face because she quickly stamped our wrists and said $40 is okay because of the wait. I checked online and if anything, it shouldn't have been over $20 because of the time we showed up. Went in because the girl in front of us said it was good and was disappointed. Literally just a somewhat large room with a stage up front (and not even a live entertainment night which made me even more surprised about the price). The music they played sounded like similar songs on a loop, the bar tender didn't even look at us even though there weren't many people getting drink, and it just felt way too crowded. Decided not to get a drink because of the vibes. We left after about ten minutes. read more

I love coming here on events that are private party events! And the best part of all this is, that you get to interact with people who have big hearts! I come here a lot for belly dancing events. HELICOPTER - Art & Flea After Party at Next Door Lately, I've felt like a zombie & lost my zest for life, because I've been working + focusing all my energy into projects. People underestimate the importance of having fun on a regular basis (I'm guilty of this) & when I turn into a zombie, I HAVE to make time for myself. Something that makes me feel 1,000x better is dancing & even though my dance moves will make you laugh; it doesn't matter cause I'm not dancing to impress anyone. You have no idea just how excited I was to finally go dancing (after talking about it for weeks) & to dance at Next Door (my favorite venue) on a weekday was the cherry on the top! It was a special edition of Helicopter since it was the Art & Flea After party & CD Release for local band Vice Vicarious + their last show. It was bittersweet to watch Vice Vicarious, this was my first time seeing the band perform & it was their last show. However, my sadness was temporary cause after Vice Vicarious' amazing performance, all I could think about was dancing. I can't thank DJ Matt Ratt enough for playing, "Hello" by Martin Solvieg ft. Dragonette, this song brought me back from my zombie existence. It also made me realize, I need new dance moves; good thing I'll have plenty of time to practice since it's summer. read more

The cover charge is bewildering. Considering the fact that patrons will come in here and pay for drinks just as much. I'll only come here if my friends are going out.
