Aloha On The Rocks handled our catering for our wedding reception. Shaun and team were fantastic to work with leading up to the event as well as during all of the festivities. We loved the food and our guests did as well. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a caterer! read more

Food was amazing, great caterer. Made our wedding day special. Our guests enjoyed every meal, Philly slider, cajun salmon, the short rib and chicken. read more

The service was ok and the bartenders were nice, but there were a lot of problems that occurred that required me to step away from my wedding to address. We had set up the bar with floating candle vases on either side of the bar, which were moved by the bartenders when we came down from the ceremony. We specifically asked if they would be providing a cute menu and the owner said yes. The drink menus were a basic word document with our drink names in Arial font and did not have any correlation to our theme at all. Our 2 signature drinks were a specialty lemon drop martini and a Paloma. The Palomas were not made right and felt unbalanced even after we provided feedback to try to correct it. The first few martinis were served without lemon juice and so I had to clarify the recipe with the bartender. I think I'm a better bartender that can taste and can make adjustments to make sure I'm serving the best drinks I can which is highly disappointing as we paid for "professional bartenders". Overall, I think they put minimal effort into the presentation and they did not serve great drinks. I would not recommend them. I would recommend hiring Elise from Honolulu Bartending Company as she was our bartender for another event and she was a dream and went above and beyond for us. read more

I paid for the rustic bar and you didn't bring it to the venue. I let you guys know as a common courtesy that if it was raining there was another bar you could use inside the Pavillion, that in no way said, don't bring the rustic bar I paid you to bring and service off of. But thanks for the response nearly 2 years later read more

What can I even say about this team?! They were amazing and made my wedding so magical. Shaun worked his tail off in the weeks leading up to the wedding and during setup, my husband said he was never not working hard. Steph was my girl all day and I can't even believe how amazing she was! True MVP of the wedding right there, made sure we ate and got to enjoy our wedding and didn't have to stress or worry about a single thing! This coordinating team is out of this world and my guests loved the staff and bar staff so much! Hire them, they're amazing! read more

Aloha on the Rocks made planning and executing our wedding cocktail hour and reception so easy, from providing quotes, updating our contract when needed, and even giving us tips on our signature cocktails. They were clear and helpful to communicate with from the start and provided all of the equipment needed - from the bar itself, to mixers and water jug setups, to tea and coffee stations. Their bartender Elaine arrived early to set up and was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! read more

The food was dissapointing. We had some beef tacos and fish catch of the day and I can say the food truck versions are even better. With your price, u can do better than this. The fries are even soggy, sorry for the bad review but I have to be honest. The only good thing was the front seat for the 4th of July fireworks! read more

Aloha on the rocks did an amazing job helping us create our signature cocktails! We brought in our own margarita and mai tai recipes (with our homemade syrups) and Aloha on the Rocks created our cocktails just like we would create if we had our guests over in our home. They were also so friendly, and professional, and received rave reviews from all of our guests. Highly, highly recommend! read more

AOTR made our dream wedding come true! As soon as we had our call with Shaun going over every detail, I knew we were in good hands. Then Steph absolutely perfectly executed our vision at the rehearsal and wedding! She went above and beyond so that my family and I didn't have to lift a finger and could really enjoy the day! The wedding went perfectly as planned thanks to her organization. The food was delicious and a big hit, too!! So grateful to AOTR for all their time, effort and professionalism!! read more

During the planning of my daughter's outdoor wedding reception on the front lawn of our venue out in the country (Kaaawa), we were trying to think of ways to add little touches of ambiance to the reception that would WOW our guests and take away that feeling of a typical backyard barbeque wedding party...when they thought of having a couple of bars set-up w/a hired bartending service. And after emailing and talking to the very few bartending services that we have on our island decided to go with Aloha On The Rocks because they were the only service that had a review here on YELP! We weren't disappointed! They were a little pricey, but you pay for what you get right? And not only did they provide the ice, soda, juice & mixers, but they also brought their own tables, a tent & coolers for the ice too, (they provide everything, but the alcohol!) They also came with a full staff of at least 6-8 people that not only tended a bar set-up in our cocktail & pupu area, (which they quickly moved to the dinner area and right on schedule), but they picked up glasses, (which we rented from them), off the tables, cleared tables for us (we added this service), and also went around and made sure that our guests glasses were always filled with champagne! (And if champagne wasn't your beverage of choice...they went and got for you whatever else that you preferred.) They were all very professional, super nice & friendly, smiled through the entire event and of course tended bar like champs...making perfect drinks & concoctions! Our guests, the Bride & Groom and their huge 14 people wedding party totally enjoyed them and were super impressed! Having a bar service definitely added that little touch of ambiance & class to our outdoor wedding! It was truly a night to remember! Much Mahalos to Shaun & his "Aloha On the Rocks" gang! read more

I hired Aloha on the Rocks one week before my event and they catered to me so well! They were very quick with their responses and made sure everything was taken care of. The specialty drinks added a good spin on everything. They provide all the garnishes, juices, mixers, etc. You just have to purchase all the alcohol. The tent set up looked very nice as well. read more

We hired Aloha on the Rocks for my wedding. They came on time and the bartender was AMAZING. Since we had bought more alcohol than suggested, he was able to make other drinks than what we had on our signature list and they were so good (and I hate alcohol). He was very funny and lively. I'm so happy with Aloha on the Rocks. My wedding wouldn't have as good as it was without them. read more

Aloha On The Rocks - Bartenders Near Me

On August 3rd, 2013 at the Polo Fields my staff and I did a "DAY OF COORDINATION," event at the Polo Fields. This is where our Zenju team worked with Aloha on the Rocks. Shaun and his staff showed up on time, set up their bar station with in 30 minutes. He brought three bartenders with him who were well dressed and looked extremely professional. Shaun and his staff took direction well and were extremely easy to work with. Unfortunately, this function was high stress but Shaun and his staff did not show any sign of pressure. Some one from the event left a negative comment on yelp regarding the work ethic of his staff, which completely shocks me. As a coordinator I appreciate any help the vendors can assist me with. This event was disorganized, there were more guests than what was stated, the electricity was not the best, guests showed up two hours early while the staff was setting up, the clients did not hire any servers, so Shaun and his staff took it upon themselves to slice and serve the cake to all the guests. This is not a part of their job description, but when I asked them to help serve the cake, Shaun more than obliged. He went over and beyond what his company was hired to do. I am going to add Aloha on the Rocks to our preferred vendors list. This is the kind of company I like working with. They know how to adapt to inconceivable situations. They think on their feet and remain professional while doing so. I look forward to working with Shaun and his team on another event in the near future. Aloha on The Rocks and The Zenju Team saved this event from a major disaster! read more

I would have given Aloha on the Rocks 5 stars except how can they run out of mixers, juices and etc for cocktails at an event? The service by the bartenders were great. Communication leading up to the event was superb. They set-up and broke down flawlessly BUT to run out of more than one product that was part of a package which we paid for is NOT acceptable. Within the first half an hour they ran out ingredients for cocktail number 1, shortly after they ran out of ingredients for cocktail number 2 and as you imagined as the night progressed they ran out of more things before the event was even over. It was so bad that the groom ended up taking shots because they didnt have all the ingredients to make him a cocktail. Mind you these ingredients are not what we provided that ran out but its what you paid for to be provided at the event as part of their all inclusive bar package deal. I wished they had estimated a bit better and accounted for garnishes, juices and mixers more accordingly. Finally, they did not display all the spirits that we had provided them. Perhaps we had quite a variety of spirits but what is an open bar if it aint a full bar? If you decide to book them, I would book cautiously or get it in writing that they have to guarantee to not run out of product (garnishes, mixers, juices, soda, ice and etc.) for the time frame you book them for. Their prices are in the middle so not super expensive like others but certainly not the cheapest either. read more

Utilized Aloha on the Rocks for bartending services at our estate wedding on June 15, 2013. Was able to work within our budget for our budget friendly wedding that satisfied us both. Communication was a plus, never missed a heartbeat and kept up with eachother through emails and calls. Most convenient in pricing and accessiblity of all the bartending services we checked out. Set-up and service went without a hitch. Guests loved the refreshment bar especially because we, the wedding couple, were able to suggest off the menu refreshments and Shaun delivered with some delicious specialty drinks. Guests also commented on how quick the bartending service was, especially because our guests were overworking them due to their drinking habits. haha for reals with shots, wines, bottles, and mixed drinks. Will recommend Aloha on the rocks for anyone asking for great priced and reliable bartending services. My wife and I would like to say thanks Shaun for what you did. Our wedding was very memorable with your help. read more

I originally contacted Aloha on the Rocks about 6 months before our wedding and was really impressed by their reply and presentation. In an attempt to cut some costs, we ended up initially booking another Bar service instead. BAD MISTAKE. After lots of bad communication with the other service, we decided to cancel them and came back to Aloha on the Rocks. What made it funny was Aloha was actually less expensive after everything factored in, silly us! Danielle was more than helpful to get my booking confirmed and get us all the information we needed. After the first e-mail contact we knew we made the right choice hiring Aloha on the Rocks. After confirmation, Shaun contacted me to find out our exact needs including alcohol amounts, custom cocktails, non alcoholic beverages, glassware etc etc. He was super helpful in getting me the information not only quickly but in a pretty detailed manner! Seriously, planning a wedding from 2500 miles away by e-mail really puts this into perspective. Shaun and Danielle were AWESOME about getting back to me with all my questions. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and they arrived right on time to setup. They had everything on hand and ready to go and were up and setup in a couple hours, ready for the night ahead. All of our guests were very impressed and loved how quickly they served, even for the custom cocktails we arranged. I can't overstate that we couldn't be happier with our choice and were very happy we ended up having them at our wedding. You guys truly helped to make it unforgettable, thank you again! read more

We used Aloha on the Rocks to have a shave ice station at our wedding at Kualoa Ranch. Our wedding planner did most of the organization but it was really easy to book, pay and re confirm all the details. Aloha On the Rocks was absolutely amazing and my wedding would not go as smooth as it did if Shaun and his team (Mike, Jake and Amber) were not there. I had arranged catering, flowers, and equipment rentals, therefore I was looking for servers only during the event. Shaun was very caring, knew a lot about these type of event, and discussed in details to get a good idea of the event. I had about 50 guests, and was providing alcohols, ice, furniture and tools. They recommend one staff per 25 guests, so I requested two servers, and one bartender. Shaun advised me to allow more preparation time, but I thought that one hour would be enough. Shaun and his team came earlier knowing that I would need more preparation time, and I did need more than an hour for set-up. Shaun was there at the beginning to help with his team setting up the event and that was a big extra help. Mike, Jake and Amber was great and I can't thank them enough. My rental company didn't bring the sternos for the chafers we rented, and we could not get in touch with rental company so we were about to just go without the sternos, but they offered to have someone bring it and we had the sternos before the event started. They were our life saver! Amber made us the plate and saved the food just in case the food runs out. She even packed us the cake so that we can freeze them and eat it a year later. Mike and Jake never had us worry about a thing, and they were really great. All three of them made sure all the items we rented are neatly packed and ready to be returned. All trashes were taken care of, and any remaining items were organized. Every details were taken care. I am so grateful that they were there and I was able to have very enjoyable wedding. Thank you so much Aloha On The Rocks! Mahalo. read more

Aloha On The Rocks made our wedding day PERFECT!!!! and the most important stress free. We planned our wedding in Oahu with just 1 month and half. Since we contacted Aloha on The Rocks for the reception catering and service, the process was really smooth and they help us a long the way. They adjust to any budget. We were able to do a tasting of the menu prior our wedding. We are from Europe and found the food amazing, with a lot of Mediterranean influence. Everybody at the wedding was very impressed with the food and the service. They were constantly replacing the drinks and food. We didn't have to take care of anything. It was stress free, which is so important that day, so we could just focus on our guests. A lot of people mentioned that it was the best food that they ever tried on a wedding. We really recommend Aloha On The Rocks to anybody who wants to host a perfect event. They really make it happen. THANK YOU! read more

We are SO happy that we booked Aloha on the Rocks for our wedding day on the North Shore of Oahu on 10/4/18. Planning a wedding from thousands of miles away seemed stressful, but Shaun, Heather and their team made it so easy. We ended up getting several services through AOTR- bar service, catering & rentals. Being able to go through one company for all of them made it a breeze. The rentals were set up on time and looked great. The food (from Da Spot) was SO GOOD- all of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We upgraded to the modern rustic bar which was beautiful and all of the bar tenders and servers were friendly and professional. If we had to do it all over again, we would without question hire AOTR again read more

Aloha on the Rocks was amazing. They provided food and bartending services for our wedding. Thanks to Shauns connections he was also able to coordinate with other vendors to provide our tent dance floor and lighting among many other things. It was so convenient being able to work through Shaun and just pay one single invoice. He worked with our wedding coordinator to ensure we had all the important items. Everything ran so smoothly that we didn't have to think about anything other than enjoying time with friends and family. They were incredibly accomodating and helped us pick out signature drinks for our reception. We had tons of compliments from friends and family for the delicious food & drinks. We also saved by being able to buy our own alcohol at Costco. Shaun even recommended how much to purchase to help simplify the shopping trip. Shaun and is his team are well worth it and are a great value for everything they offer. Thanks again for making our wedding and reception unforgettable. read more

After doing some research and receiving quotes from a few others, my husband and I initially hired Aloha on the Rocks to be our bartenders for our wedding at the Loulu Palm Estate. Not only did Aloha on the Rocks seem to be the most reasonable for what was provided, we were really happy about the quick responses to all of our questions through email. We also were happy that Aloha on the Rocks provided additional staff to help us with our other needs during our wedding such as passing around pupus, refilling of water, clearing and rinsing of plates, and help in cleaning up. Before our wedding, Shaun, the owner, called and made sure all of our questions were answered and was very pleasant to talk to. During our wedding, Shaun and his staff were very helpful. According to our caterer and coordinator, the additional staff we hired for the extra help did need a bit of a push to help with certain things, but overall were really pleasant and helpful. My husband and I actually felt really bad because at one point, they even had to work in the darkness, rinsing dishes. They were troopers! We'd like to thank Shaun and his staff for a job well done, and we would like to recommend his company for your upcoming events. read more

Large weddings are never easy; they are especially difficult from a distance of 2500 miles across the ocean. We were extremely fortunate to have Shaun from Aloha on the Rocks to help us with the smooth set up and execution of the bar at our son's wedding. The first list of alcohol we received from the wedding planner seemed to be a bit excessive and when we forwarded it on to Shaun he was very quick to respond that this seemed to be more than a 'bit' excessive and that he would be happy to provide his input. This seemed to be a great alternative but there was a slight problem. The bride to be, the wedding planner and Shaun were all on the island of Oahu while we were located on the mainland, a three hour time difference. Shaun graciously responded to the many changes in both the amount of alcohol, the types of drinks to be served and the number of staff and how they would be utilized. Not only gracious but with a measure of polite professionalism and a genuine desire to make the event as smooth and enjoyable as possible. This was accomplished! We have nothing but high praise for Shaun and Aloha on the Rocks. Although he had another function to attend, Shaun was able to schedule his time such that he was there for the set-up, and then was able to return halfway through the wedding and then again when the event was ending. His staff was wonderful, pleasant, accommodating and great mixologists! They came, set up, served and cleaned up and their great attitude contributed to making it a successful event. We loved the Ice teas and infused water set ups! They looked great and were an elegant touch for those that don't drink, definitely worth the added cost. We wholeheartedly would recommend this service and use them for our next wedding. Thanks Shaun and Aloha on the Rock truly ROCKS! Rita and Michael read more

If you're planning any kind of event where alcohol will be involved, definitely go with Aloha on the Rocks! We were planning a destination wedding from California and had NO idea on how much alcohol or what kind of alcohol we should buy. Then in came aloha on the rocks. They handled everything. I found four specialty drink recipes I liked, gave them to Shaun and he made it happen! They provided all the garnishes, juices and mixers, and all I had to do was buy the actual alcohol. It made things SOOOOOO unbelievably easy. We had a really rowdy group and the bartenders were so nice the entire time!! At the end of the night, our group was a little too drunk to handle taking care of the alcohol so Shaun and his team were nice enough to store it for us! Then the next day, Shaun went out of his way to deliver the remaining alcohol to us in Waikiki (from Kailua) so that we could return the unused alcohol to Costco. Having a shave ice vendor at our wedding was one of the things we initially talked about wanting when we started planning our wedding--but as wedding costs started adding up (including a few surprises), we started thinking the shave ice was a splurge we'd have to forgo. About 2 weeks before the wedding I started looking into a DIY option and also emailed a few shave ice vendors just to see what the prices were like. Out of all the options, Aloha on the Rocks was the most wedding-appropriate/classy looking option, so I assumed it would also be the most expensive and way out of our price range--it was actually cheaper! It was such a hit at the wedding-- the kids were loving it...and the adults were lining up as well! Shaun and the staff at Aloha on the Rocks were so great and reliable--everything went so smoothly with set up and service, and I'm so glad they were able to be a part of our wedding day. From the reviews of how many shave ice was actually eaten plus all the guest comments that it was such a cool and unique part of the wedding---we definitely got our money's worth! read more

Aloha On The Rocks - Bartenders Near Me

Planning a wedding for the North Shore of Oahu from the mainland was a little daunting. After perusing several wedding blogs, I knew that our bartenders had to be from Aloha on the Rocks. The correspondence between us had a few gaps in the beginning because they were busy. But if that happens to you, do not be worried. These guys are the BEST! We also had several catering snafus with other vendors so we ended up hiring Aloha on the Rocks to be our caterer too. We weren't sure how the food would be since they didn't have a lot of reviews about it. Let me tell you, some of my friends are foodies and had a great culinary adventure on the island. They said that the food from our wedding was some of their favorite from the trip! Shaun and his team were nothing short of perfect! All my guests raved about the service, the food, the drinks, the friendliness and the professionalism. I know you are probably already using them as your bartenders, but I would also highly recommend them as your caterer. I just wish I lived closer so that we could have some of that garlic chicken again. Shaun and team, you ROCK! Thank you for making our day so great! read more

Okay...so I went to my relatives wedding on August 3rd, and my auntie heard that this company was a great bartending service. She said that she went to another event and the bartenders were outgoing and helped set a mood.....so my expectations were pretty high. Their set up was good and on time, and they had alot of staff (3 bartenders, & 3 cocktail servers and an Shave Ice machinist).....They were serving drinks at the beginning but I saw the cocktail servers sitting down for more than 10 minutes while guests were walking up to the bar to get their drinks. I also noticed that since there were 250 guests, the table maintenance was poor. I was definitley not impressed....I even took a picture of the servers sitting down which totally pissed me off since my auntie is paying for their so called services. Their service was more like the Titanic sinking the Rocks....not Aloha! If you're going to have "Aloha" in your company name....make sure you bring it! I will not suggest these guys AT ALL! read more

Shaun had great communication. The extra services offered made our wedding feel extra special, such as hand passed cocktails, a shaved ice bar, and water goblets placed on the tables. I am so glad I picked Aloha On The Rocks to be my caterer and provide the shave ice bar for my wedding! I just got married on Memorial Day Weekend with a beachside ceremony and beautiful reception. All my guests were RAVING about the cute shave ice. I even was fed some shave ice as the bride because it was instantly cooling and refreshing in the Hawaii sun. It was so nice seeing pops of color in guests' hands as they enjoyed these treats during cocktail hour. The wait staff was amazing because they helped serve my appetizers and made sure the bride and groom were fed too!!! Shaun the owner was great to work with. The menu that my guests can't stop talking about was the Mac nut crusted Opah, Okinawan mash potatoes, coconut rice with mango chunks, and the dressing for the salad!!! I literally had no leftovers of the chimichurri steak or guava chicken the next day which was sad because I wanted to taste it all again. Aloha on the Rocks made my dream wedding come true and they worked with me to make all my requests come to life. Even during the planning process, payments were super easy to keep track of and complete because it's an online invoice and tracks how much you've paid!!! We hired Shaun of Aloha on the Rocks for an outdoor wedding of 70 guests. We found that his recommendations for what alcohol to purchase along with suggestions for popular specialty drinks were very accurate. Shaun and his team were the best! Shaun was always responsive to my emails, ready to work with us and super helpful with the planning process. In my opinion the amount we paid for the services we received was extremely reasonable and affordable. Shaun put my mind at ease when it came to the planning process. Every question I had was met with a timely answer and every suggestion made was met with a "can do, no problem". This is definitely something any bride could appreciate. Shaun and his team provided a full bar service with self-serve drinks on the side. They had a very professional setup and were totally awesome with service during the night! All our guests commended us on the superb bar service and great bartenders. The guys were fun, super polite, and even remembered drink orders as guests would approach the bar, pretty impressive for a wedding hosting 280 people! They even respectfully turned away an uncle who had too much to drink without being offensive in any way, which in my opinion is a sign of extreme professionalism and great service. I would recommend Aloha on the Rocks to anyone in a heartbeat! Fantastic service, awesome equipment and great communication, what more could one ask for in a bar service for private events?! I will definitely be contacting Shaun in the future should we throw anymore parties or events! Thank you Aloha on the Rocks! read more
