Kaka'ako Market and Catering - Lobster Roll

Kaka'ako Market and Catering

(26 reviews)

Kaka'ako

Right next to aloha bake house, I haven't noticed it though it's been there for 4-5 years…read more Delicious fresh food. Street parking. Friendly service. Unsure about pricing. I'm sure many of you walked right by this place or didn't even notice it as you were ordering aloha bake house food/beverages from the door right next to kakaako market. I sure didn't! This place is buried treasure. Such a cute atmosphere that feels homey and has some Anthropologie eclectic vibes. Their menu is a tad limited as they cook what they have freshly in stock, and I couldn't find the prices as they aren't readily visible, but I chose to order a lobster roll. She actually cuts it in half and wraps two rolls for $19. I ate half for lunch and I am full. The roll was stuffed with buttery, warm lobster with just the right amount of mayo and a squeeze of lemon. Simply delicious. The bun was warm and sweet, just the way I like it. I definitely want to try the ahi as they get it fresh daily. The chef, owner woman was so nice and I'm so excited to have discovered such a nice place to get takeout that is nearby my apt.

I was there today for a lunch meeting and was served the salmon salad. I'm not a fan of salads, but…read morethe sauce over the salmon and the dressing was perfect! I ended up happily scarfing down the whole plate of food. It was served with a delicious ginger cooler. The space is a sweet, quirky little place and Hale the owner was so gracious. I'm definitely coming back to try the other dishes!

Where do I even begin? Fukuya is a comfort food staple, a wonderful treat, and just something so…read moredelicious it's hard to put into words. I love coming here whether it's to pick up lunch with my sister or grab food to bring to the beach with my friends. It's one of those places that never disappoints! The food is always so yummy, and I particularly love the teriyaki ahi, ahi patty, tofu patty, and their newest fried tofu. They always seem to have a different sauce for the tofu, but you can guarantee it'll be delicious every time. I've never had a bad thing here! The service is always so welcoming, and I love the casual, laid-back atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can stop by for a quick lunch, grab something to go, or pick up food for a beach day. Nothing fancy, just consistently delicious food that keeps you coming back for more. I start looking forward to my next visit as soon as I leave. I can always count on Fukuya to put me in a better mood and make sure I leave well-fed. A true local favorite that I'll never get tired of!

This is on of our favorite spots. They have a lot of tasty treats for your tummy…read more Some of my families favorites are - nori wrapped chicken - sweet umami flavor with moist inside and some crispy edges. The nori is just a small strip but adds that funk note. -veggie tempura, tons of veggies, crispy, a tad oily, but good option to get son son some veg albeit fried haha -Mac salad (daddy only, lol) a nice creamy Mac salad. -Namasu - sweet and tart pickled veggies -ahi patty - packs a punch of flavor. -cone sushi - if you had one you know ;-), if not try it out :-) There are many more to choose from. Some quick notes -Parking is tight, only a few stalls. That added with being on a busy street. Getting in from the west bound direction is better, as east bound you need to cross a bug busy multi-lane street. -Given its Okata, food is prepped earlier and just sitting for you to order. So food is usually room temp and some crunchy items may not be as crunchy. That's not to say anything bad, it's really typical to all Okazuya. -Prices can add up real quick, walk out with 4-6 items can run you to $15-30 real quick hahah. All and all, we really like this spot, and will be back.
