We did a lot of research with our wedding vendors, and the planner was one of the most important. I wasn't able to make the initial meeting, so my partner talked with Tessa initially and she was nice enough to schedule a call with me separately to make sure they would be a good fit. The extra consideration really showed me that they cared. We chose them a little over a year before our wedding and Tessa was amazing in answering our emails and meeting with us once a month to make sure we were on track. When vendors fell through, Tessa was able to recommend others, and by the end we had the best group of vendors to make our wedding dreams come through. When we decided to have our wedding in Waikiki, our friends referred us to Tessa and company, as they had an amazing experience working with them. Over the next 12 months, we worked closely with Tessa and her team to plan our ideal wedding. Going with the full wedding package, Tessa provided us vendors recommendations for every aspect of the wedding such as venues, flowers, music, photo/video. For vendors we found on our own, the team was able to do additional research and provide us with their opinions. We live on the mainland so we really wanted a good wedding planner to help us plan a destination wedding. We interviewed several wedding planners and Tessa was the one that stood out to us the most. She was professional yet approachable and was very receptive to all of our questions. She helped us establish a good budget and gave us a lot of recommendations for vendors. As we got closer to the date Lauren helped reach out to our vendors and construct our timeline. Everyone on the team was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. On the day of the wedding Maya arrived early in the morning to help with any outstanding tasks. She was so sweet and kept us company while we were getting ready. Henry arrived later and was with me for the rest of the day. He is a true gem and the superstar of the day! He made sure that everything was on track throughout the day and went above and beyond to make sure that I ate enough food and even packed us to-go boxes of food for the next day. Overall the entire Fred and Kate team did such a great job at facilitating the flow of the wedding. There were no hiccups and at times we were even ahead of schedule. At the end of the night they helped us clean up as well and saw us out of the venue. We received a lot of feedback from guests that they thought the wedding was very organized and ran super smoothly, which is a testament to the team's efficiency and expertise. We chose Fred and Kate as our wedding coordinator and it was one of the best decisions we made. From the beginning, Tessa was there every step of the way and answered the millions of questions I had. She also recommended our DJ (Spectrum Entertainment) who turned out to be the perfect fit for me and my EDM loving husband. Planning a destination wedding can be difficult, however Tessa made the whole process go smoothly. On the day of the wedding, Maya arrived early to help with whatever I needed. I asked her if she could help steam my dress and she said yes. To my pleasant surprise, she ended up steaming all of the bridesmaid dresses and the mother of the bride/groom dresses. We were not expecting her to do all of that, but it allowed us all to fully relax until the ceremony. I am also very grateful for Jeannette, she helped put my veil on, helped me go to the bathroom, and other miscellaneous things like fixing my hair before a picture. Finally, Midori helped guide everyone to where they needed to be without rushing us. I appreciated this because my wedding day was truly the least stressful day. Tessa and her whole team did an amazing job with putting together our timeline, as well as making sure we all were cared for on the day of the wedding. If you're looking for a wedding planning/coordinating company that dots all their i's and crosses all their t's, look no further!!! As an operations manager, and since my partner is a designer, we both are extremely particular about logistics and aesthetics. We wanted things a certain way, but also wanted to stay within a particular budget. Tessa's firm, yet caring approach was perfect for us. She really helped us every step of the way, referred us to wonderful vendors, and helped us stay within budget. Her team is also to die for! On the day of the wedding, we really felt like Henry was our guardian angel. As someone who is very type A, I really felt like I was able to turn my brain off, and never once looked at the clock or timeline because it was so clear I was in good hands - they took care of use every step of way and went above and beyond in the details, such as making sure our bridal party had water waiting for them right after the ceremony walk out, or fixing our lei in pictures to make sure it was on point. 10/10 would work with them again. 10/10 would recommend. I don't think we could've pulled off our wedding without Fred and Kate Events. Tessa & Henry were always quick to respond, even during late hours at night. The team was extremely thorough in helping us plan for the event, taking into account every possible variation and whim that we might have. By the time of the wedding, they prepared our timeline down to the minute and had all our preferences in mind. Tessa personally attended our rehearsal and walked us through every step of the process, reassuring us of the big day and fine-tuning the details to ensure everything ran smoothly. On the day of the wedding, Henry stopped by early in the morning to check in on us and made himself available all day. He broke no sweat even when unexpected problems arose and had to make changes on the fly. My husband and I got married this past Sunday and the day went by so perfectly because their team did an incredible job at keeping everyone on time and managing the chaos. Tessa kept in contact with us until the very last minute the night before our wedding to ensure the timeline was exactly how we wanted the day to go and making sure all the details we wanted were perfectly executed. Even caught the error on my behalf and found a last minute arch for our ceremony to rent the night before the ceremony! Fred and Kate was recommended to us by our wedding venue and we were so fortunate that Tessa and her team were available to be our partial planner/day-of coordinator for our wedding day (12/29/2021). Well, to paint a picture for you... COVID-19 lockdown #2 happened in HI right in the middle of our planning. To say that Tessa was the real MVP of our wedding experience is a great understatement. I am not the girly girl type who knows exactly what decor she wanted for her wedding. Tessa was extremely patient with me, went above and beyond her role to make sure I had vendors and that we had something magical with our pretty low budget. She did not judge that our budget was small. Tessa worked a miracle and everything looked extremely elegant and breathtakingly beautiful. Working with her through the planning, through the lockdown, through the highs and lows of whether or not the wedding would happen was always a joy. She was always very transparent and optimistic. Every time I had any kind of panic/anxiety regarding the wedding, Tessa would calm me down. She was always available and always had the perfect solution. On the day of our wedding, my nail art got messed up. Tessa was already there to start coordinating vendor set up, etc. She let me borrow her car so that I could go get my nail fixed!! ABOVE AND BEYOND. The entire ceremony and reception was perfect! Everything was on time and everyone had a great time. Honestly, I don't even know where to begin - there are SO MANY WONDERFUL things to say about Tessa and team. Before I write my novel, TL;DR is book them ASAP to coordinate your wedding - best decision we made after deciding to get married in the first place ;) Seriously. Alright so I guess I'll start from the beginning. We spoke with a few other wedding coordinators before we spoke with Tessa, and we knew right away she was the one for us. Tessa was exactly the right amount of "I'm gonna get sh*t done" but still be amazing and super fun to work with. So much so that I asked my husband after our wedding was over - "is it weird that I really miss talking to Tessa all the time?!" Tessa was incredibly helpful throughout our planning process giving us just the right amount of homework in between calls so we didn't get overwhelmed. She has amazing vendor recommendations at all price points, especially when it comes to food!, and she is careful to be conscious of your vision and your budget. Tessa also expertly helped us navigate through forever changing Covid restrictions and graciously, thoughtfully, and quickly helped us to reschedule by 3 months at the very last minute. It was insane.... I can honestly say the day of the wedding was the least stressful day out of the whole process for me because I knew whatever happened, Tessa would figure it out. She has a way of nicely but very commandingly getting people to do what they need to do when they need to do it, while still staying calm through everything. And I literally mean EVERYTHING. There is NO way we could have pulled off our wedding day without the help of Tessa and Fred+Kate Events. We booked them for the Day-Of Coordination Package and it was worth every cent. Tessa was great at prioritizing what needed to be done right away and what could wait. She was also great at reassuring me that we were ahead of schedule and we were fine. She was so responsive through text, call, or e-mail. We would schedule calls through her Calendly account, which I thought was great. Calls would initially occur every 2 months and as the wedding got closer, the calls became more frequent. We were planning our wedding all the way from New Jersey and in the 2 years of planning, we met with Tessa only twice for about an hour each. As the day got closer, Tessa slowly took over all communication with vendors. Her final timeline for our day started at 8AM, ended at 10PM, and was broken down to every 15 minutes. If that isn't organization then I don't know what is. It was the most thorough timeline I had every seen and I would frame it if I could because her organization was what made our wedding literally the most perfect day of our lives. The week before our wedding day, it rained every day. I had spoken with our reception venue and they suggested we modify our layout to have the dance floor moved under the tent instead of outside. Tessa worked with our rental company and was able to revise our layout that ended up being WAY better than the original plan. The day of our wedding, Tessa had team members come to both my hotel room and the groom's hotel room to be with us to make sure that everything was running smoothly. Each staff member had a copy of the timeline and made sure that we were meeting everything on time. They made sure the florist, photo, and video were on time. Tessa and another staff member were at our reception venue making sure everything was set up on time, too. While I was getting ready, one of my dress straps was not fitting correctly and Jeannette actually sewed it on the spot so it fit! Jeannette and Sachi were great at making sure we were all ready that we actually had like 20 minutes to spare before we headed to the ceremony. At the ceremony, another staff member named Mark was so great because he saw that I was so nervous and he ran across the street to Starbucks and got us all cups of water. They had tissues on hand for me because they saw I was crying already! At the reception, Tessa and all the staff members were there and they were so kind and helpful and I couldn't stop thanking them for everything they were doing. Jeannette and Sachi made sure that we were able to eat a little and drink some water in between pictures and being pulled every direction for things. Everyone involved with the wedding complimented us on how organized everything was and how we were all on the same page with the schedule. That is all thanks to Tessa. This review is SO long, but I cannot put into words how grateful we are for all of Tessa's help.
