    We did a lot of research with our wedding vendors, and the planner was one of the most important. I wasn't able to make the initial meeting, so my partner talked with Tessa initially and she was nice enough to schedule a call with me separately to make sure they would be a good fit. The extra consideration really showed me that they cared. We chose them a little over a year before our wedding and Tessa was amazing in answering our emails and meeting with us once a month to make sure we were on track. When vendors fell through, Tessa was able to recommend others, and by the end we had the best group of vendors to make our wedding dreams come through. It's clear that they have a lot of experience and knowledge about the various vendors on island, and because of this we had no issues or worries about vendors showing up on time on our wedding day. Over a hundred emails later, our wedding day came! Henry was with me in the bridal suite as Tessa and her team handled the arrangements at the venue next door (Lanikuhonua). Start to finish, I didn't have to worry about a thing. I had a really dry throat from talking so much during all our pre-wedding activities, and the team had so many different lozenges to choose from, and they were nice enough to share so that I didn't have a coughing fit during my vows. Midori, Maya, and Lauren were also great in escorting me during the various transitions, bringing refreshments to me while I took photos, and making sure I made the shuttle back to Waikiki at the end of the night. They were an absolutely amazing team, and so fun to hang out with. Highly recommend them and couldn't have asked for a better team. P.S. They have a podcast "Unveiling Paradise" which was a great way to stay up to date with the latest wedding trends, get some FAQs answered, and get to know some of the other vendors. Check it out!

    Tessa, Henry, and the Fred & Kate Team made our wedding dreams come true. Over the year leading up to the wedding day, we worked with them to plan our destination wedding. They took the stress out of planning and helped to coordinate every detail of our wedding day. On the day of, the team worked efficiently to make sure everyone and everything was organized. I was not stressed at all on my wedding day because I knew I was in good hands. I don't think a single thing went wrong. I can't thank the team enough for such a perfect day that we will remember forever!

    Five stars is nowhere near enough. Hire Fred and Kate Events! My husband and I got married at Lanikuhonua on Oahu and F&K exceeded every expectation we had for our wedding. From our very first conversation, Tessa, Maya and the entire F&K team impressed us with their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail. They took the time to understand our vision and priorities, never making us feel like just another client. What truly set them apart was their incredible flexibility and willingness to accommodate last-minute requests--we initially thought we didn't care what our wedding looked like, and when we came in with a list of demands for our bespoke dance floor / DJ set up, Tessa and Maya didn't hesitate. They sent us multiple videos from the venue walking us through our layout options and created a completely custom dance floor atmosphere with disco balls and foliage that transformed the night into the beach club of our last-minute dreams. Every step of the planning process felt seamless thanks to their expert guidance and genuine care - every vendor they recommended was equally as professional as attentive! On the day of the wedding, Fred and Kate Events orchestrated everything with impeccable precision - F&K sent team members to each location where my husband and I were separately getting ready (complete with secret service ear pieces for coordination). Their team was so organized and calm under pressure that we were able to relax and fully enjoy each moment. Maya was a godsend, ensuring every element--from the ceremony setup to the flow of the reception--ran without a hitch. Guests raved not only about the beauty of the event (and the cocktails, hire Stir Beverage), but also how smoothly everything unfolded. Without a doubt, Fred and Kate Events are the best wedding planners on Oahu. If you're planning a wedding on Oahu, you won't find a more capable, thoughtful, or talented team.

    TL;DR: We'd give Tessa and her team all the stars in the sky for their rating if we could. Not only are they immaculate professionals, but they're fun, wonderful people--easily some of the best we got to meet during our wedding planning adventure--who truly care about their couples. The Long Review: When my husband and I first started wedding planning, one of our main priorities was getting a top tier wedding coordinator. Tessa was one of the first we interviewed, and we immediately knew that there was something special about her. She had a great sense of humor, and when we mentioned our dream venue alongside our preferred budget, she very kindly adjusted our expectations and provided us with not just a realistic overview of what weddings typically cost at that venue but also creative ways to approach things from a budget. Her ability to keep things real with us, yet do so in a manner that was still fun, caring, and creative was something we instantly gravitated towards. After bringing her on for partial planning, we worked closely as a team for a year and a half. Note that when Tessa's packages say unlimited communication, she means UNLIMITED communication. We exchanged so many emails and calls to ensure that we were on track with our plans and keeping in line with our priorities. Her professional expertise and experience in the industry helped us choose the best of the best vendors for our vision. Also, Midori and Lauren, who stepped in to help in the last few months before the wedding, were awesome at getting those final details in place when things got the most hectic. One week before the big day, we found out that an unusually late Kona low would bring heavy rain all across Oʻahu for the entire week. As someone who grew up on the leeward side of the island (a.k.a. the dry side), I had always envisioned sunny skies for our outdoor May wedding. So needless to say, I was super bummed. Tessa immediately sensed that we needed extra emotional support and went above and beyond to check in with us throughout the week. As the rain continued to pour in the lead-up, she and her team busted their butts behind the scenes to work on rain contingencies, from negotiating with our rentals vendor for a larger tent to entirely rearranging the venue layout. The morning of the wedding, the sky was dumping buckets. But even after I had given up hope, the Fred + Kate team moved forward like a well-oiled machine. Tessa, Midori, and Lauren executed their contingencies at the venue while it was pouring. Henry, bride handler extraordinaire, looked after my every need. The team's unwavering belief in my husband and me kept us going throughout that entire day, and miraculously, the rain not only let up during the ceremony but also gave us one of most beautiful sunsets the west side has seen for a while (with a bonus rainbow)! Even if the rain hadn't let up, though, the care that Tessa and her team showed us was more than enough to make the day as special as it was. They helped us focus on truly enjoying our wedding instead of sweating the details, and that is something we'll forever be grateful for. Thank you, Tessa and the Fred + Kate team!     Where do I even start? I cannot say enough great things about this company's team and their fearless leader who I'm pretty sure has superpowers Tessa. My wedding was a little unconventional and we had less than 40 days to plan it. From the photos, you would never know it was done in 40 days. It was the most magical chaotic experience of my life and throughout the whole thing Tessa was there 24/7. Her team constantly day of reminded me to eat food and drink water. They remembered all the little things while constantly managing my anxieties. I don't even wanna call Fred + Kate events a wedding planner or coordinator they are so much more. Designer, best friend therapist, chaos, controller, and diffuser. Her team is absolutely sensational. They are such kind, wonderful individuals all with their own strengths. Big shout out to baby angel maya she is a rockstar, bride babysitter, bug spray sprayer, and email extravaganza. They seamlessly keep you on track and provide updates in live time. I never needed to wonder if one of the vendors or on schedule or if everything would work out because they gave me the best gift of all on my wedding day, which was peace of mind.

    Here are a few key points of what we recieved from the Fred and Kate team whilst based in Australia and on the wedding day. *Engaged through video calls and emails. *Recommended vendors. *Analysed budget and expectations. *Attentive to emails with enquiries and concerns. *Realistic reccomendations that suited our budget. *Created timeline and event layout. *Works with you and your vision. *Day of coordination, team on site handling vendors and guests. Another team handling the bridal party. *Staff was present while both bride and groom were getting ready in seperate hotels which made it easier to communicate any finer details or structral changes on the day. *Steam cleaned bridal party attire. *Staff handling the program from the ceremony until the very end to ensure everything was in place and on time. *Tessa brought us lunch because i forgot to organise it :) There truely is alot more that this amazing team did for us but i would be here writing a novel. If you are worried about who to put your trust into to help you with your big day this team is 100% worth hiring. The pricing to me is under priced to be honest because of how much they went above and beyond for us. Our day ran so smoothly, I was stress free and didn't have to worry about anything. They are so professional, have great attention to detail, stuck to the timeline and on top of it all they know how to work but have fun at the same time. All the vendors love working with Tessa and her team which is an advantage for you to ensure you'll have a great wedding. The guest also couldn't stop raving on about how organised they were. His replies were always very fast (within 20 minutes) and he made the booking process so quick and easy. Their prices are very reasonable as well! On the day of the party, they arrived early to set up. We booked them for balloon twisting and airbrush tattoos and all our guests, both children and adults, loved them! Their work was very beautiful and all the kids kept lining back up for more. It was adorable seeing all the tattoos and balloons everywhere! They were so great with the kids and all our guests had so much fun. Dave made my son a Winnie the Pooh balloon and he absolutely loved it. The sweet woman working with Dave (unfortunately I forget her name, my brain was all over the place at the time) made my son a little turtle balloon bracelet and he was obsessed with it! She also asked for my favorite color, and then made me a rose balloon in that color! She actually walked all the way across the room to hand them to us both times. They were both very sweet people!     Unfortunately, our experience with Morgan and her team was far from positive. We hired them on…read moreNovember 7th, 2022, for our wedding in July 2023. While our initial conversation with Morgan was pleasant, that was the only enjoyable interaction we had with her throughout the entire planning process. From the outset, we communicated with our wedding planner, Jade, about needing transportation to and from our hotel. She assured us she would handle it and send us a website to choose add-ons. After submitting our wishlist on January 23rd, we didn't hear back from Jade until February, with a vague response stating she needed more time to review it. Despite following up every two weeks, it would take up to two weeks to receive a reply. This caused unnecessary frustration, and it wasn't until mid-April that we saw any real progress. By then, we were suddenly pressured to make decisions quickly. The whole point of booking nine months in advance was to alleviate stress, keep things organized, and maintain a clear budget. We received our wedding day schedule just one day before the wedding. Unfortunately, due to poor planning, this process became chaotic and cost us far more than anticipated. From the start, transparency around pricing, wedding locations, and dinner options was lacking. The estimates we received were consistently vague, which was frustrating given their experience. I wanted to confirm our reception location based on the Lookout 1 option in Maui, but they were evasive, leaving us unsure whether transportation would be necessary. Fortunately, my now-husband found our preferred location (Gannons, now called Gather Maui) online, and we were able to make a decision based on his findings. During the planning, they changed our dinner location within Gannon's without consulting us. Originally, we were supposed to have a 24-foot double-wide dining table, but they replaced it with a 15-foot table, causing our guests to feel cramped. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans, making everyone uncomfortably hot. There was also a larger, available space that could have been used, but they didn't consider it. It's disappointing that a wedding planner didn't foresee these issues, especially after we paid for an extra planner to manage the setup. Another issue was the transportation. Although we approved the transportation details early on, they didn't confirm pricing until just two weeks before the wedding, at which point the cost had doubled. The added charge was for accommodating four additional guests, which we felt was unreasonable. We ended up having my in-laws drive themselves in their rental car. On the wedding day, two vehicles (a sprinter van and a van) arrived. The groom was unable to reach the planner in time, and when the driver said it wasn't an issue to board the vehicle, we were later charged for these unexpected costs. Whether the responsibility lies with the transportation company or Modern Elopement, we'll never know. What we do know is that they withheld our wedding video and photos until they resolved the transportation issue. We didn't receive them until more than three months after the wedding, despite the fact they were ready within weeks. After receiving our wedding photos and video, we noticed they were being shared on social media and other vendor sites. As per our contract, we were only required to notify them in writing if we didn't want our photos distributed. I sent this request on October 27th, 2023, and Jade confirmed she would notify their vendors. However, in March 2025, I was shocked to find our photos posted on their social media and website. After requesting their removal and being ignored, I started leaving comments on the posts and sent emails via the HoneyBook portal and regular email. Morgan's condescending response to my requests only further proved her lack of respect for my wishes and her ongoing exploitation of our wedding for her business gain. She then blocked me on social media, implying she didn't want me to see her ongoing use of my pictures. Additionally, when they attempted to bill us for the extra transportation costs, they removed me from the HoneyBook portal, which I found highly unprofessional. Lastly, during the reception setup, one of the planners left an invoice for our party favors in my suitcase. Modern Elopement had received a discount for ordering these items, but charged me the full 20% planner fee on the regular price, which makes me question whether they overcharged in other areas as well. Despite reaching out to Jade multiple times to keep things moving, Morgan never stepped in to help. She only sent us a few condescending emails when she wanted our payment, but didn't offer any meaningful assistance with the planning. In the end, while our wedding was beautiful, it had very little to do with Modern Elopement. It was thanks to the vendors and choices we made.

Prior to our wedding I contacted Clint and he made everything so easy. Very professional and clear communication that he gives. Payment is so easy as well it's only a click away. Clint worked with us to comfortably seating 70 people in a small setting. He suggested what he could do to seat our family. While on the phone he asked if he could stake his tent in the yard so it won't blow away, and we said absolutely. If we need to adjust our order before our day we could, no pressure. Clint and his team came out the day before to set up and they knocked it out! We don't have to do anything including disinfectant the tables and chairs. Clint didn't pressure us in finishing at a certain time. If you are looking for a professional company to make any occasion special please don't hesitate to call Clint and his team! Btw. His price is very reasonable! If we ever need and services for a special day we will be calling them back! Again, thank you guys for making our day so special! You made my wife so happy!! Listen, we're grown adults celebrating our friend's daughter and if your friend tells you to get balloon hats, you get balloon hats. If the daughter tells aunty to get their face painted, we get our face painted. We wanted her to get her monies worth! Also, we sat right next to the table so it wasn't hard to make a request when there was no line. I don't even have kids but we had a fun time with them. What could have been an incredibly stressful and disappointing situation turned into a beautiful and memorable experience because of them. Throughout it all, they made me feel completely at ease. I knew I was in capable, professional hands. They were flexible, proactive, and handled every obstacle that came their way with confidence and grace. They also communicated all the changes with our vendors and even renegotiated details to make the new plan and venue work within such a tight timeline. Honestly, I don't even know the full extent of everything they handled on the day of and that says so much about how seamlessly they managed it all. There are two areas in particular where she and her team did an amazing job: (1) Design/decoration services: My husband and I didn't know a lot about wedding decorations, and Shari did an incredible job translating our overall design preferences into all of the details that contributed to an absolutely beautiful wedding day. She had a great eye for tying together the design and color choices for our flowers, linens, ceremony and reception decorations into one cohesive, romantic look that completely exceeded our expectations on the day of our wedding. We received so many compliments from our guests, too. There was no way our wedding aesthetic would have come out the way it did without Shari's advice and design suggestions. It was so magical!! (2) Day-of support and planning: Our wedding day went off without a hitch from start to finish, thanks to Shari and her team's support and attention to detail on the day of. It felt like whenever we had a question, a personal need (such as a drink of water or trip to the bathroom!) or the next item on the timeline was coming up, someone was there to address it and because of this level of support, my husband and I were able to fully enjoy and immerse ourselves in our special day. Beyond these two things, Shari provided so much support leading up to our wedding and is also super friendly and easy to work with.
