Good luck with Warranties. Don't even think about the extended. I wish I could write a better review but any kind of Service after purchase was very bad. Don't even think of getting extended warranties. Got suckered into that. Over a year and issues were not resolved. Called and emailed so many times for help on parts and service. Over a year. We did get some parts over the year but way too slow and incomplete. At the end we needed Service. Tom's said to go through RV Complete. RV Complete and NuCamp said go through Tom's for the 1st year. Back and forth, back and forth. Tom's is supposed to take care of everything the 1st year but do not. We had to search for Service ourselves for months. Sales Rep (Matt) said there are many Service places in SoCal. Untrue. Looks like they will say anything for a Sale. After you buy Tom's they barely helped us. NuCamp is a little more help but hard to get a hold of and not good at returning phone calls. I would buy within your own State for too. They told us "We sell all the time, it's really easy to get Service there and all that". False. CA and AZ Dept of motor vehicles are as much help as Tom's and we know how helpful the DMV is. read more

Watch out for these guys. Don't give them any money until you are 100% sure of the deal and the unit. They demanded a deposit to hold the unit even though I am from out of state and couldn't personally see the rig. After I decided to go with another unit and agreed upon pricing and financing with the sales guy the finance person tried to get a little extra out of the deal. Magically there was a $2500 rebate that I wasn't told about that brought the rate down to where we originally agreed upon. I blew up the deal after they attempted to play me for a fool and now they won't refund the $500 deposit they demanded and assured I could get back if I decided not to go with the deal. All they had to do was honor their end and the unit would have been purchased. I originally went for a used unit and decided to stick with them for a new unit I could have purchased at a number of dealers within an hour of my house. I've bought a lot of cars in my life and I've never meet such scummy people. But hey, someone has to pay the owners Raptor payment since he got smoked with a crazy ADM. Tools... read more

We bought a fifth wheel from Tom's Camperland. During the PDI it was discovered that the dump valves didn't work. We were told that it would be fixed. Well it didn't get fixed. Toms delivered our fifth, and we loaded up and went on our trip. Went to dump tanks one valve bent it was so hard to move and the other it won't move at all. Toms lied about the fix. They don't return calls or emails, for days.. Service department is not customer friendly, the receptionist is very rude. Will never buy from again. When you spend your hard earned money, a phone call should be returned. read more

I am an out of state customer that happened to come across Tom's Camperland. They had a Lance 951 camper that was specific to my 3/4 ton truck. It was used and Alan told me it was in great condition. Alan was spot on, not trying to make just a sale but a customer for life. They set up my truck, gave me great training and everything we need to camp that night. I was suspect buying out of state, but be assured this is a top notch firm that goes above and beyond for their customers. David P. CA read more

Tom's Camperland was an overall decent experience. They are quite friendly people which admittedly there are pros and cons of. Can't complain about people being friendly but it does get confusing when I talk to Sean, Jeff, and Jason and then someone asks me who was your sales person. I don't know... I had extensive conversation with 3 different people none of which identified themselves as a sales person. Really I talked to a sales person, a technician, and finances... which ones which I have no idea. All I hear is first names like we know each other. Again though I will say quite friendly folk and it's hard to complain about people being nice, just gets confusing the way you do it. Almost overly friendly. I did have some issues with my travel trailer after purchase. My issue was not as big as I thought it was, seemingly its a faulty monitor. I got two battery monitors, one tells me the battery is full and the other tells me the battery is at zero. Not as big of a deal as I thought but still an issue. It took me a full week of attempting to contact toms camperland to get this resolved. Admittedly part of that was my fault. My office hours seem to almost match theirs. But on thursday... the fourth day of the experience I was told I'd have a manager call me back and make this a priority. That they would stay sometimes upwards to 630 even though you close at 5 for various reasons like this.. I told them I was going to take off work early that day (lose hours off the clock) for this phone call. So I go to the rv and wait.... and wait.... and eventually I call them back.... nobody is available to help... great... so Friday I leave a negative review on Google maps and yelp. They some how flagged my honest Google maps review and got it taken down even though there was nothing but honesty in that review and for that alone I'm tempted to take this this to 3 stars.... and in fact I might........but what do you know now as soon as I tell their future customers maybe spend money some place else now they want to help. Now Andy the service manager that helped me figure out in the end its just the device that reads the battery was a very nice man as well. Thanks Andy!! Cheers! Appreciate you!! What it took for me to get Andy on the phone is ridiculous. You still get 4/5 for now pretty much because of Andy. In the end Tim's camperland did make my experience quick, easy, for the most part very nice people at least the way they talk to you. But you're not off the hook for an improvement in customer service. Call someone back when you say you will. And if I'm talking to a sales person let me know you're a sales person. If I'm talking to the finance guy let me know that's what you do. Appreciate your knowledge of things non finances Sean. Not knocking you for being able to answer questions. Lance the manufacturer of my tavel trailer is in the dog house too. I called them bout 50 times this week. Got a single person to answer the phone once.... they transfered me. Transfer went to voice-mail. Never heard back. Sent them emails... no response.. on their website it does state they are overwhelmed with some things right now and the fastest way to get anything done is by going through the dealership. You as the dealership should know if your manufactueres are saying this and you got people who just bought rvs from you needing help with something that doesn't seem right, you got to help these people. Don't let it take a week for resolution. I want to give you 5 stars but I can't because you need some work. It wasn't a 5 star experience now I had to go through a week of phone tag to get a half hour conversation with someone that knows the product you're selling. Anytime you have people with a warranty and the manufacturer says hey if you need help with that warranty you got to talk to the people you bought it from.... HELP THOSE PEOPLE. I'm already licking my lips at an upgrade in a rig in just a few years time. Will I return to Toms when I want to spend even more money?..... no. And it's because it wasn't a 5 star experience. Give 6 Star Andy a raise. He got this review changed from a 1 to a 4. read more

At 8:30 AM on Thursday, Nov 12, 2020 I initiated a call to Tom's Camperland to inquire about a Leer Tri-Fold tonneau cover for my truck. I was told they did have the one I was interested in and the total cost was $999 plus tax and includes installation. That price was $40 more for the cover than at the Leer website but since it included installation was acceptable by me. The gentleman, whose name I will leave out, said I would have to make a $500 deposit and that the cover would take until Tuesday to get here from their warehouse. I agreed and told him I would be over shortly to do the deposit. At 8:43 AM I called back and asked him if I could do the deposit over the phone and save myself a trip. He said yes and I gave him my credit card number. Tuesday came and went without a call from Tom's. Same thing on Wednesday. So at 8:11 AM Thursday, Nov 19, 2020 I called Tom's to find out the status of my order. The gentleman I talked to said he couldn't find it but he would take my name and number and call me back after he found it. I never got a call back. On Friday, Nov 20, 2020 at 8:36 AM I called Tom's. The lady this time said she couldn't find my order but to give her my name and number and someone would call back. I told her I heard that story yesterday and nobody called me back. She assured me today they would. This time I did get a call back at 8:56 AM. After 21 minutes of call transfers and holding I was finally able to schedule installation for Wednesday morning, Nov 25, 2020. Wednesday morning I went to Tom's for the installation. When I went in and told the gentleman behind the desk the purpose of my visit he said he couldn't find anything. Another gentleman came out to the desk and asked if I was there for an installation of a tri-fold cover. I said yes and he took my keys while the other gentleman continued to search for the original order. After roaming around for 50 minutes or so I went back into the office area and was told they finally found the order and that I owed them another $724.13. I asked how that could be since I was told it was $999 plus tax and included installation and I gave them a $500 deposit. The gentleman told me that was incorrect and that I owed them $724.13. I am a 76 year old retiree with an advanced degree in business (MBA) and I committed a huge mistake. I didn't get it in writing. So I ended up paying $79.50 for installation, $5.57 for shop supplies and $100 for freight. A final note for Tom's Camperland. It is not City of Mesa PRIVELAGE TAX but rather City of Mesa Privilege Tax. read more

Well its been 6 mos since I purchased my new Lance 1995 from Tom's Camperland Mesa and I couldn't be any happier with the trailer and the crew at Tom's. From the initial buying experience to the few times I needed to resolve a service issue (mostly just questions on my end) I couldn't ask for a better experience. Allan was the initial salesman I dealt with and from start to finish had an answer to my many questions about everything from the trailer itself, to different WDH's, and everything in between. At no time did I feel pressured to make a purchase or feel the need to haggle a price downward. When I arrived to pick up the trailer Allen was off and Brad stepped in effortlessly. He helped with the final walk-through and fixed any issues I had spotted right then and there. After I got the trailer home I realized that the shore power cord had accidentally gotten left behind. I placed a call to Brad and asked if he could locate it and secure so I could come back and get it. This was right at closing and as I live approximately 30 mi away I didn't believe I could make it in time. Instead Brad took it upon himself to personally drive to my house and deliver it in person. Incredible. I also want to mention Andy and the rest of the guys in the service dept. After purchasing a new truck for my tow vehicle I realized I would need to adjust my hitch to keep everything level. As I didn't own a 200lb torque wrench I called Andy for assistance. He not only made time for me that day but did the service free of charge. Keep in mind this was for a WDH that I had purchased elsewhere. More recently I took a rock into the front windshield of the 1995 on my way to Alamo Lake. After a quick phone call Andy had me a new outer window ordered and on its way for installation. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Tom's. My fiance and I plan on becoming full time RV'ers in the future and I will be going to Tom's for everything camping / trailer related until we hit the road and drive away into the sunset. read more

I have received that good ole' fashion customer service from Tom's Camperland in Mesa AZ. The kind of cs that makes you feel special and important and it lasts beyond the sale. I purchased a Lance travel trailer from Brad at Tom's 1 1/2 years ago and anytime I needed something Brad responded to my emails within hours. If a repair was needed it always happened in a timely manner and if I dealt with another member of the staff they too were just as sincere and efficient as Brad. Should I ever want another tt I will only go to Tom's Camperland, I cannot imagine any place better, quality products and quality care, they understand American values! read more

I absolutely love dealing with this Tom Camperland's team Mesa Prior to buying my camper I searched high and low, and I saw mine online and knew I had to have it. I started working closely with Allen on the sale, Sean was my finance manager and was great at educating me about the loan and the fees, nothing was hidden. Due to the camper being used there was some unforeseen issues, but Allen advised me to bring it in (they got it). Their mechanical team consist of Tristan, and Andy which followed through in fixing my camper up and provided me communication throughout the process. From start to finish Tom's Camperland went above and beyond and I would recommend anyone there to buy a camper here or to have one serviced. Finding start to finish customer service is hard to find, but they have it all right here. Great teamwork! Thank you for everything! read more

Such great people! Helpful from beginning to end with the sales to the service department. They are easy to communicate with, very knowledgeable and very kind. It reminds me if the way customer service used to be-helpful and always puts the customer first. We bought a camper that fit our needs after going to six different places. These guys were the best out of all of them. As most people know-rvs needs a lot of service after you buy them, even if they are new. They have got us in and out quickly and efficiently, and with lots of consideration for our time and energy. We will use them until we buy a new one. Just great great people to work with! read more

I was recently in the market for a camper shell for my Ford F-150, and couldn't be happier to have found Toms Camper Land. I was fortunate enough to get to work with Brad. He was very informative and took extra time to answer all of my questions. Never once did I feel like he was selling me something or needed me to buy something. I genuinely felt as though he was interested in my purchase and wanted me to make the best decision for me. Needless to say I purchased the Overland series by ARE. It was installed perfectly and is exactly what I wanted. I even had a couple of last minute add ons they were able to accommodate me with. I highly recommend you check out Toms camper land. Previously, we owned a Lance 1575 travel trailer purchased from Tom's. Over the last year or so, when any service was needed on the 1575, they always more than met our expectations.. (hats off to Jose and the crew in the back). The overall experience was so good that when it came time to upgrade a bit, of course we went back to Tom's. On our last purchase, we worked with Zach, who was great. This time around, as we purchased our new Lance 1995 model, we worked with Jason, who was also super to work with. We have nothing to say but good things about this group. It is a excellent example that employees make a company. If you have a great crew, as this company does, the sky is the limit. I can tell you, it sure makes RVing a lot better for us, having Tom's as part of the picture. Highly recommended. :-) read more

My RV was supposed to take 4 months. It took 10 months. It was paid for - in full - as agreed upon. I realize there are problems and I was pretty understanding of all the excuses but I cannot abide by their underhanded tactics. The salesman was great and a good guy. NOT his fault by far. It was his boss that said that 'I could not take it without paying them another $4000.00'. I said that it is paid for. They said four grand more because prices went up since it took longer. They and their website said they take trade-ins. Not so much. More excuses. Where I come from a deal is a deal. Not there. Zero integrity. Write it all down and have it signed. BEWARE. Take heed, Do not Trust this dealer or it's employees. Zero Star Toms camperland is not a family business anymore as they advertise. They were acquired by RV Retailer, LLC. And they do not answer their phone either u have to leave a message , which never gets returned. once you lay down your money, they will not return your calls for anything. you will get the run around when it comes to service, to the point you will never get it. We cancelled our extended warranty because it covered nothing that needed to be done. We Are still awaiting our refund $2700 so we can go else where for the repairs. we paid cash for our unit so the warranty refund should come directly to us. been waiting 8 weeks now. Emily in finance says some ppl have been waiting for more than 10 weeks for theirs. why? The warranty company gets a response back to Tom's within 72 hours. no one there including the general manager Allen, or the Sales Manager Heath claims to know the phone number to corporate office where the checks come out of or how to contact corporate. I was told today by Denise The accounting Mgr that the check was mailed on 11/16 and mail is taking longer because of "Covid", really it takes 16 days to go from Texas to AZ! Lie! And she has no control over the mail, but she is an authority on the us mail status! BS. I asked to speak to "Brad" the president and was told by Denise the Accounting Mgr that all correspondence goes through her and she would get any information to Brad. Right....... I doubt that will happen. BTW they charge a $799.00 fee on every unit sold and it is to pay for a complete inspection of the unit to make sure everything is working properly. Well there is a screw going into the microwave, the slide is coming apart at the bottom corners when you pull the slide in, the black tank lever was stuck when we tried to empty the tank, the antenna would not rotate and there is a gas leak somewhere by the tanks. when i voice this to the General Manager he does not even respond to my service issues. I live about six hours from Mesa Arizona. I emailed them to see if they had a specific trailer in stock. This was on a Sunday. They said yes they had the trailer I wanted and it was in stock. So the next day I decided to drive the six hours to purchase the trailer. When I got to the dealer they said they did not have the trailer in stock, and proceeded to try to sell me a different trailer that they had a large inventory of. Classic bait and switch. When you want to do business with with a company that does everything the right way, then you want to deal with Tom's Camperland. We purchased a new Lance 1985 TT from Tom's and traded a Truck Camper that we had purchased from Tom's 4 years ago. We're were given fair trade in value and a competitive purchase price on the Lance. Our initial delivery inspection was thorough and all questions were answered in a knowledgeable and relaxed manner. We had two small issues with the trailer that were remedied immediately and without incident. You will notice an immediate friendly and family like atmosphere with Tom's.... we drove from San Diego County to Sunrise to purchase a second time with Tom's, knowing that we would be treated well and fairly through every step of the process. Everyone knows that one star is because you can't leave a no star rating. I went into Tom's Camperland today in a good mood and excited to see what I could do with my new truck and to see about purchasing a camper shell now, with the intent to buy a trailer or full camper next. Well, when I do,it won't be here. Sure they have a beautiful show room but the sales guy was the worst. I had to ask the receptionist for help and that was obviously a bother to her. When I said thank you, she did not respond or even look at me. The sales guy was obviously not interested in helping me design and build a truck shell at all. He went and made a cal and then came back with a flat " we don't have one for your truck". He talked to me as though he had better things to do. Then his phone rang and he said" I gotta take this , it's my boss". I doubt that because if it was his boss, the boss would be like " why are you talking to me, deal with the customer" That is unless thats how all the people here think, that my business doesn't matter. I guess if your only going to spend a few grand and not 30-40 your not worth the time. After waiting five minutes or more for the sales guy to return, I walked out. I'm going to Little Dealer, little Prices next. Fingers crossed I get some help there. read more

I dealt with Tom's Camperland but did not end up making the purchase through them. After being asked to update my review, I agreed to as I too own a business and understand how a Yelp review can factor into a small business's success. Back to my experience with Tom's... I communicated with Allen at Tom's Camperland who made me an offer on a small trailer camper. He then asked for a $500 deposit (which I paid) to secure the deal. He then changed the details of the deal. He didn't realize the dates we agreed to meet were Memorial Day - which he wouldn't be able to accommodate. In fact, he stated that my camper would have to piggyback with another camper TBD making its way to California (Tom's is located in Arizona). Needless to say, I was annoyed and bothered by the interaction. He then refunded my deposit and I moved forward with my purchase through another dealer. This was "the resolution." What was interesting to me was that Allen later contacted me to offer the camper one more time - at which point I was already moving forward with a second camper from a different dealer. At that point, the deal became complicated and stressful - my hope was that Allen would leave me alone to make my own purchase somewhere else. That's what I ultimately ended up doing. Even though I purchased my trailer through a different dealer, I will consider Tom's Camperland for my future RV needs. read more

I had contacted TCL on a weekend via email, and a fella named Brad quickly emailed me back, I was quite surprised. I told him what i was looking for, and we spoke and he informed me of what they could offer. Brad called me Monday and we discussed the camper top I was looking for and we agreed on a fair price. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks to come in. It came in 2 weeks, and they set me up with a time to go in for installation. I have to say, the place is very nice. everyone is very helpful and pleasant. Brad, who turned out to be the owner, took me back to see the cap prior to installation. Man do they ever look too small off the truck. Anyway, the cap was installed and looks exceptional. Couldn't be more pleased. If I could add a pic of it I would. Everyone there is awesome, from the young lady at the front desk, to the owner. I highly recommend them. read more

Generally, I'm a nice person. But, to be honest, I also have a general dislike of salesmen. I think it's fair to say, who doesn't? They tend to hover around you as if they're afraid one of their coworkers will steal you away (along with their commision). And sometimes they talk your ear off because they're scared of awkward silence. Ugh. That being said, Zach at Tom's Camperland is none of those things. He is the exact opposite of all those pushy and annoying traits. He is the first salesman I've met that I truly, truly appreciated. He is perfect, I wish he could be my salesman for every purchase I make for the rest of my life. He approached us in a laid back manner, offered to answer any questions, then told us where we could find him, and left us to look around on our own! Zero pressure! We really thought we were getting a great deal but....after we left, we realized that the guy in the shop didn't put the door back on the outside of the heater box. They then told us they didn't have it and we could 'purchase' one. Then...our tent trailer is suppose to have support bars that install on the top incase the braces give out and it drops. Nope..... they didn't have those either! Worst part of all is we decides to pay off our loan in full after one month. Our total cost of the tent trailer was $7,900.00 after our down payment. Now, our payoff is 11,800.00 because of tax, license and insurance AFTER we had made another $,000. payment???? Who ever heard of $4,000.00 in tax, license and roadside insurance that BTW was NEVER explained to us. The man we signed the loan papers with was so in to talking about his music, that he 'thought' he did, but never explained the insurance cost. We will NEVER do business with this place again. Jake was very helpful. My husband was inquiring about The Tag. He was very informative.

My husband and I are so glad we came here! We searched all over the east valley for 7 + weeks before arriving here at Tom's Camperland in Mesa, AZ. Last week Allen Greeley helped us find the exact travel trailer we wanted. Allen answered all of our questions easily. He is very knowledgeable. We signed up for financing same day after realizing that we were not being price gauged for anything. After 7+ weeks of searching and researching at home we had a good idea of how much we should pay for everything. Today we met another fantastic employee Adan, who took us through our walk thru and very patiently explained to us how everything worked. Because we also had Tom's Camperland set up our truck for towing our new trailer, Adan also explained all of that to us. He also let us video tape the entire walk thru giving us an amazing amount of information. Seriously, a lot of info because we are newbies. Not only was Adan extremely helpful all day long, he was also funny! I think we are really going to enjoy watching those videos later. Now we are getting ready to leave here after having them add a few last minute things, such as a Maxxair vent cover and a solar panel plug and Allan Greeley is out here finishing up answering another 20 or so of my husband's questions. We have received absolutely stellar service from everyone here and are completely happy with our purchase. read more

I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy me a new camper. I was advised on a facebook camping group by a satisfied customer to give Tom's Camperland in Mesa a try. I am so glad I did. I was fortunate to talk to a salesman named Terry. I had a million questions to ask about a little camper I had my eye on. Terry was patient with my zillion questions and answered every one of them. By the time I got done asking all my questions I was sold on buying my little camper. Terry also spoke to his manager Allen and they worked out a trade, my present camper as part of my down payment on my new little camper. It all worked out wonderfully. Allen and Terry were professional, very knowledgeable and patient with my many questions. I highly recommend Tom's Camperland in Mesa if you are considering buying a RV. We were looking for a small travel trailer to replace the old popup. We had a strict budget and had no desire to upgrading the truck to 3/4 ton. So we knew it would be a long search. We liked Tom's because they helped and answered questions when you wanted. But they left you alone to browse. We quickly got sick of having pushy sales people at other places. Tom's employees don't work on commission so there is no need for the hard sell. They are also one of the only places that caries these smaller trailers. Everywhere else has the huge RV and left us really worried about what we could find. We bought a 2016 Rpod. So far we love it and are glad we used them. I guess the only knock I have is their web page does next to nothing listing the parts or services they offer. I end up calling or emailing them every time and I honestly feel like a pest. The number of positive reviews surprises me. My experiences here were anything but positive. It took FOUR trips to even get to talk to a salesman. I walked the lot multiple times and was completely ignored, including passing through the showroom. By the time I did speak to a person, not only were they out of stock of the two models I was interested in, I was talked down to over what I did want and basically told if I didn't order it now for delivery many months later, I'd be out of luck. I was also told they do not service anything they do not sell, so if you DON'T buy from them, "good luck getting any service." Sounds like a bunch of a-holes to me. I bought someplace else. This is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. They are low to no pressure and don't hound you like other places. Their salesmen are not commissioned and when comparing prices, they hands down were the best price in the region. All phone calls were returned same day. even though they were busy.. When needing service (twice), service was rendered with-in 1 day one time and the other within a week... I have heard other dealers takes 1 to 2 months to get people in. I would gladly recommend the guys at Tom's to anyone.... Happy Camper... J.A. read more

I purchased a used weekend warrior. I purchased this camper on Saturday 09/03/2022. Speaking with the salesman after I looked at 3 rough campers in norther Arizona, I was assured this was a phenomenal camper. The next day after we had taken the camper home (not offering a full trailer inspection due to Saturday at closing and short staffed) we had to clean the urine in the toilet and mice feces from the floor. Come to find out the two batteries that ran the camper were completely dead. When I called camperland the following Monday I was told the camper was sold as is and I needed to purchase the batteries myself. This was very disappointing as the salesman Terry assured to me, they were in good working condition. On October 22, the family and I decided to take the camper out for the first time. During our stay we loved the toy hauler. It did its job; however, the hot water heater was not working. Not a big deal, it should be covered under warranty. We scheduled to take the trailer in to be looked at UNDER THE COSTLY EXTENDED WARRANTY we purchased. Well come to find out! The entire roof needs to be repaired an 8-hour job due to cracks, Seal failures around end cap and ac.The entire grey tank and parts need to be repaired after 4 hours of labor. The hot water tank is floating and needs to be secured. Plus, the cost for diagnostics and rv repair shop NOTHING IS COVERED under sold extended warranty. When I called to express this to the manager at Tom's my response was, we sold this as is. What an awful way to sell a camper. The promises and solid word from our salesman mean nothing. I am looking at the costs of $3400.00 in repairs just purchased from this dealership. I was told the general Manager would investigate this and call me back. When I was told this about the batteries, I was given a TEXT message from Brent (service Manager) that the trailer was as is. I strongly advise anyone to look at other companies that will honor the customers. Tom's camperland is not one! read more

Tom's has been a rare and satisfying purchase in the RV industry. Our buying experience was great. Allen gave us a great price and made our purchase easy. Better yet, Andy in Service has bent over backwards to make sure the few small problems we have had were taken care of. If you aren't familiar with RV dealers and service, they typically suck. Not so at Tom's. If you are looking at a new camper do yourself a favor and give Tom's a visit. read more

We found Tom's online after visiting our local truck camper dealer. Our local dealer seemed bothered and was unwilling to make a deal. After a phone call to Tom's and talking to Allen, we drove from CO to AZ to pick up our new camper 2 weeks later. Allen was great throughout the process. He called and texted to check on us while we were on our way there AND while we were on our way back home. We've already recommended Allen and Tom's Camperland to our neighbors. Thanks again! read more
