We have been contemplating of buying an RV for more than 3 years now. In those past years we have been to countless RV shows, RV shops at one point or two even had secured loan for specific unit we wanted but ended up aborting the purchase mainly because of trust issues and poor quality of service amidst negotiation process, it's scary to think that we are apparently without assistance after the fact. June 15, 2018 after more than 5 months of email correspondence with Brad Leach, the owner of Tom's Camperland, we made our ultimate decision to end our quest for our first RV. For us to take a very long trip from San Francisco to Mesa and back reflects the unmatched reputation of the negotiation process with Brad. We could've just walked-in our nearby dealership for ease of convenience but the trust that was built and established by and between me and Brad, was more than enough to take the trip. Tom's exceeded our expectations. Our prep guy, Tristan, ensured that all our concerns were addressed. He went above and beyond in the hope of providing us customer care and satisfaction. We have nothing but respect for Brad and his crew. And if you are in the market for an RV, we highly recommend you pay Brad a call/email if you are like us, from out of the state, or a visit if you are nearby. You will be doing yourself a great favor. You are in good hands with Tom's Camperland! (Disclaimer: I am not compensated monetarily or otherwise. This review is solely based on personal and satisfactory experience with Brad.) read more

Been dealing with them since 2019. Very professional and accommodating. Jason runs a good ship.

Cero starts for Tom's Camperland. This place is awful. They are nice when you buy R V in the contrary no for service. The Service manager @ Mesa, AZ. Is un respectful, un polite and arrogant!! They have quantity people only no quality people. SAD!! :/ read more

If you were inspired to commune with nature after watching the movie The Long, Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Tom's Camperland is a must stop venue. They carry a full range of campers, trailers, pickup truck covers as well as tonneau covers. The word professional is bandied about with reckless abandon, but it aptly applies to everyone at Tom's Camperland. Angela, Jason and Dean provided exceptional customer service and support in the installation of a tonneau cover on my Ford F150. While waiting for the installation to be completed, I observed their commitment to responsive customer service as they dealt with customers both new and repeat in their show room. Whether you are looking for a trailer big or small, Tom's Camperland has you covered like a blanket. When it's time to introduce yourself to Yogi Bear, Tom's Camperland will get you fixed up. read more

We bought our R-Pod 153 at Tom's (Mesa) Camperland and the guys there work through all the typical issues to get us on the road in the right way. Big shout out to Robert Stevens our salesperson. We discoverd that the wrong mattress was in the R-Pod and Robert made the 400 mile round trip to Kingman, AZ and switched out the mattress. That's service after the sale. read more

Well, I think they try to do their best. But even then stuff happens. Purchased a 2022 Intech Luna trailer. The TV was installed crooked from the manufacturer. Usually Mounted TVs have some rotational adjustment. But not this one. Why it wasn't caught during delivery or during the walk through is really a BIG deal. Could have been resolved before I took delivery. It wasn't until after I got it home, that I realized it can't be fixed easily because the TV mount to the trailer wall is not level. Just a sad piece of "I don't give a damn, its Friday" workmanship of something so simple (That's on YOU INTECH!). I got advice from Tom's Camperland to "gerry-rig it" or take to a local Intech dealer in my state (live in CA) to do a warranty repair. What a terrible first date! On goes the story.....this is my first trailer, and I made a rookie mistake with the extended warranty. They should slow down and walk you through it carefully (or maybe I'm just old). In retrospect, I wouldn't buy all of that extra stuff (3 items) maybe 1 or 2 and would have paid out of pocket instead of financing. Since its a 5 year plan. Don't want to keep paying after the extended warranty expires! That is not looking out for the customer; at least if it is disclosed in a direct carful way, an informed choice can be made. I do not think they were being dishonest at all. Maybe I missed it in the conversation (old person excuse lol!). Anyhow, I do not have buyers remorse, just living and learning! Now Just have to pay this baby off quick! All n all the Intech Luna concept is very nice fits our budget and how we like to travel light. Would I go back to Toms Camperland or recommend? Probably. read more

Buyer beware!! I traded in a motorhome for a travel trailer. The travel trailer ended up being a disaster. They broke promises made to store it for a few short months. They would not buy it back or trade for a different camper (was not looking to return for a refund was willing to take a loss). This is a concern they do not stand behind their products they sell. Its a pain in the ass to get anything done, forgot to give me the hitch which was additional money (I had the trailer delivered). Title was a nightmare. I'd stay away there is too many other great business to work with when this one wont work with you. They are too big to care about their customers. read more

The front desk ladies Jamie and Letty were so much help and so was Justin. I couldnt be any happier with the service there.

The salesman are friendly, and quick to sell you a camper, but after the paperwork is completed you will be very disappointed with everything from that point on. Our business purchased a brand new $140k trailer and were charged over $1000 for pre-delivery inspection...however the unit wasn't functioning and was filthy dirty, complete with damaged interior trim, dead batteries, and a broken heater. Tom's agreed to pay our shop (we have a 4WD restoration shop) to fix the issues rather than sending their own tech out to fix it. However they have been dodging us since we submitted the invoice...to the point it seems that it seems we're going to have to sue them to get paid what was promised. They seem to be incredibly dishonest and willing to lie about anything and everything to make a buck. Absolute criminals who should be avoided at all costs. read more

Check what the trade in Value would be after six months on what you buy from them. I purchased a retro tear drop in March and was thinking to upgrade to a 3 person small trailer, when I asked them about my trade in value they quoted me 60% less than I purchased it for. Wouldn't have guessed it depreciated that much in four and a half months? Just saying keep this in mind if you think you might want to change or trade out your travel trailer. Kathy P. read more

It's about time that I posted a review of Tom's Camperland. We have purchased our last 2 campers here. We keep coming back because we are treated fairly and honestly. The sales force is not pushy. They also are willing to bargain. I have never been so pleased with a dealership. On the service side, we worked with Brian. He was extremely helpful. He even tried to solve my problem over the phone. When I did take the camper to them, I was in an out and on my way in an hour. Nobody gives service like that unless you have an appointment. I will continue to do business with these folks. They have always treated me right. read more

2nd purchase was on or about 9-29-2021 (1st purchase was in 2016-they sold me a Artic Fox truck camper 2000lbs over the weight restriction knowing full well the truck I was purchasing - the designer of this camper model told me 'they never should have caused you that liability' so he helped me get a resolution--Tom's allowing a trade in for a trailer, way more expensive!!) I spent Over $26,000 w/2 major problems What I requested: 1. I asked for training before taking it off the lot but due to part delays & my work starting, the training had to be delayed. Then the 5th wheel was delivered to my other location in Forest Lakes AZ where I expected the training still to take place but never happened. 2. I told Jake since I am a single old women & use the back of my truck A LOT, I needed a hitch which I could take out MYSLEF to use the bed. What happened: 1. I had to find someone else to do their job. Never once in the text messages did Jake ever state no one would go to forest lakes for this training! He lead me on. I asked they pay Dennis (who did the training for them and fixed the broken parts) with a $100 Bass Pro Gift Card. 2. They put in a hitch weighing 300 lbs to remove, which I obviously can't do by myself. There is another hitch (a tri-pod style) they should have put in instead but didn't. I thought of them as the experts but clearly I was wrong! THEY JUST DON'T LISTEN OR CARE about the customer, just the sale! How they resolved it: Allen at the Mesa store said basically to bring the 5th wheel down there & they would honor the training putting the cost back into my lap (with the price of gas) & the fact I am already trained. He was not willing to resolve this issue, he said he couldn't. What manager doesn't have the capability to purchase a $100 gift card? They lost a customer over $100 which says a lot about a company. If nothing is resolved from this BBB complaint, people should know NEVER GO TO TOM'S CAMPERLAND FOR YOUR TRAVELING PRODUCTS. I know I WON'T when it comes time to getting my class C. read more

We arrived at the showroom ready to purchase a truck camper. We walked through each one with no assistance which was over 30 minutes. My husband went to the office to ask for help Zack spoke with my husband very briefly. We requested to have a unit open, Zack called a worker to open the unit and then Zack left. The attendant called for Zack several times and he never returned. We viewed the unit ourselves, spent several minutes and decided to leave since we couldn't get a salesperson assistance. As we left Zack finally came back out and we left. This place would never get our business. If I am spending $60,000 on a camper you better have attentive customer service. Zack never acknowledged me, ask our names or anything. This store has a monopoly on truck campers in the area and it shows they pick and choose who they will help. read more

For being a new place or at least at a new location you would think they would be eager to welcome their customers. My wife and I have been walking around for 20 minutes and not a single soul has greeted us much less offered assistance. My response to the owners reply is simple. I was not there to buy donuts, we were looking at product that ranges from 30 - 100 thousand dollars, you would think it would be obvious we would need some help assessing our purchase. The showroom was nearly empty and the staff actually walked away to the back offices if we approached. Maybe I just don't have the right complexion for your business? read more

Update from a post last month. Still no title or registration. Took delivery on 7/9/2022... Spoke with AZ DOT regarding registration / title, they said that a temporary tag was issued... It was never provided to me... Shit service continues, DOT also said that there is no application for title change or registration.... can you say shit service continues... Good thing they charge the $400 "DOC Fees".... Title change is $15.00 and the plate for this vehicle is $30. That leaves $345 for incompetent service... I purchased my Little Guy Max in March of 2022 and there were a few issues with it from the factory. A punch list was put together of the dozen of issues that needed attention. Tom's dropped the ball on communication and made up for it after the first review was made. But it seems like they lack in customer communication much more now a days. I still had issues that they said they turned into warranty, but they ended up loosing their service manager (not sure if he left or was let go) but they dropped the ball big time on my last issues. The refrigerator did not work from the factory on any modes and Tom's said they turned it into warranty. Several times I contacted them regarding this and slow response was what I got back. I understand that dealerships get busy and I am not the only customer, but 2 or 3 days without a response is not good customer service. The last time I brought it in for the fridge replacement as well as the few other issues that were manufacture defect/workmanship, I was told to pick the trailer up on a particular afternoon. I show up and let the receptionist know that I was here to pick up my unit and she radioed to the service department that I was on location. She said it would be just a few minutes as they were busy. I waited an hour ( 20 minutes after the doors closed to the showroom and the receptionists left). A man brought up my unit with a forklift and left it in the drive. No mention of someone coming to talk to me or give me instructions. I hooked up and left. I get home and review the work that was done and it was very poorly done. Trim that had come loose and put back had dirty glove prints all over it and holes where the finishing nails damaged the surface of the trim. The locking drawers that were to be adjusted were still opening and not secured. A good note is that the refrigerator DID get replaced and is working. So of the 5 issues that I brought it in for, 2 of those were completed correctly and now there are 4 still needing fixed. The additional was a cover on the outside that must have gotten taken off the unit while in the lot. They really need to do some quality training at this location and customer service communication. read more

My wife and I were looking for a light weight travel trailer and I researched several brands. We were looking for a unit with a rear dinette so we could back into a scenic spot. On 1/24/2020, we checked out several dealers in the Arizona area and on our way to Cottonwood, Arizona for the weekend we stopped at Tom's Camperland in Mesa. We talked to Allen and he showed us a new 2019 Apex Nano and told us they had a 2020 Apex Nano at their other location, but it was $2,000 more. There was a door at the bottom of the shower pan on the outside of the shower and Allen said they would fix it. We liked the features in the Nano, so we put a deposit on it. I had to go to our credit union for financing and found out that I had to add some things to the trailer to get to a certain amount for a longer term. We requested a television, Moryde steps, and the mounting of our rear view camera to be added to the invoice. We drove up to Mesa with the check and told Allen that we couldn't pick up the trailer until 2/12/2020. He said that would give them time to install the additional items. We drove back up to Mesa on 2/12/2020 to pick up the trailer. We also had to have our Weight Distribution Hitch installed on our truck. The first thing I noticed on the trailer was the Moryde Steps that were installed had a single latch to catch on the door frame of the trailer instead of the dual catch on the newer model. The door was hard to close because the technician didn't pay attention to installation instructions. The holders for the strut to keep the door open at 90 degrees, had not been removed from the threshold and the door. The door could not close because part of the steps that is supposed to rest on the threshold was actually above it and put the door in a bind. We had other issues with the trailer and had to keep taking it back to Camperland to get them fixed. One was the door not locking while in motion. When we would stop the door was ajar and thank God for the handrail. It keep the door from flying open. The other was the A/C was a 13.5 BTU Dometic and in 104 degrees, the temp inside the trailer was 85 degrees. Both issues were supposedly resolved but the door kept popping open and the A/C did not cool the trailer down to a comfortable temperature. I finally went to Camping World and had them replace the A/C with a 15K BTU unit. The striker plate on the door had been hammered so many times that it did not work and I asked for a replacement. Nothing from the dealer so I got one on Amazon. Allen was a personalbe guy, but I would not buy from Camperland again. read more

First, great customer service by Terry Wilson. Not pushy, great attitude, inviting, definitely has great salesmanship skills as I appreciate that. ****UPDATE**** After discussing the problems with Tom's Camperland they have fully apologized for the situations at hand and have offered to help us with the payment of our mounting brackets and reimbursing me for the $55 fedex fee I paid. We will most likely be bringing the camper to a local dealership to have them check/repair the propane and Tom's Camperland has stated they will reimburse us for the expenses we accrue. Allen, thank you again for your concern and consideration. We are very happy with everything at this point and would recommend your company to our friends and family. Thank you again. ------------------------------------------------ My husband and I drove out to Scottsdale 3 weeks ago with the intention of purchasing a truck camper for our Ram 2500 short bed. We had been researching the different brands and models and were ultimately led to Tom's Camperland because of the great reviews and multiple options they had available. We scheduled an appointment with one of the sales representatives, Alan, and met with him Saturday morning to look around at what they had available. The customer service from him and the staff was great and we made a decision to purchase a 2018 Eagle Cap 811 truck camper. They gave us an amazing deal and even offered delivery to California for free. We were so happy with how quickly everything was done and had agreed upon a delivery date of April 30th, a Monday that my husband would be home as he is a fireman and is usually gone 4-5 days of the week. We unfortunately did not get this in writing and the delivery date was changed by Alan who claimed that we stated we wanted to have the camper delivered May 7th. This would have been fine, however I had just overnighted the sales paperwork on the night of the 27th assuming they needed to have it before the 30th and the office is closed Sunday and Monday. I spent $55 at fedex to have paperwork shipped next day for no reason. The camper eventually got delivered on the 4th and it was very simple and easy. Doug did a great job and I was very happy with the delivery and set up he provided. After we signed the paperwork at the dealership we did a final walk through and mentioned a few minor things to Alan. There is a molding that is on the left side of the ceiling above the bed that was falling down and we asked him to take care of it before delivery. It was not and the campers' cleanliness was lackluster. My husband was under the assumption that the mounting brackets for the truck were included in the deal and spoke with Alan about this. He advised they were not and that they would only cost "a few hundred dollars". My husband spent $1600 to get the brakets a large and unexpected cost to us. We also did not receive the hook for the manual side awning and will need that to be provided to us as it did come standard in the package. The last straw for me and the reason I am writing this review is the biggest safety concern I have ever come across with any sort of vehicle/camper. We turned the propane tanks on yesterday when we were testing all of the units in the camper and left it on all day/night. Completely acceptable if everything is connected correctly. When I was leaving for work I heard the carbon monoxide detector going off in the camper and had to wake my husband up. The entire camper smelled of propane and we turned everything off. My husband then decided to check for any leaks in the propane ports that were installed by the dealership before delivery. We have a video of the bubbles coming from one of the ports and I am just shocked, appalled and completely disgusted. If we had decided to take the camper out last night and slept in it we could have died. That is the short and sweet of it. There is no better way to put it. Apparently no one checked the installation and put mine and my husbands life as risk. I am writing this on a Monday and am aware that the dealership is not open. We will follow up tomorrow, but I expect an apology first and foremost and some kind of way to make this situation better. All in all get anything in writing and make sure to inspect all components of anything purchased before use. read more

This is first negative review I have ever given. I found a camper online and put in an interest form. Allen responded back to me right away and I gave him a price I would like to be at. He called me back two days later and offered it to me at 500 below. He said that the offer would be on the table until that evening. A few hours later I told him I'd take it and he said he needed a deposit. I was at work and told him I wouldn't be able to get him my card number until the next day. He said "in good faith I'll pull it off the market for you". I sent him my card information the next day and he replied back with "you'll be really happy with this one". Five days later he called me back and said it was sold to someone else. He sent be 4 or 5 other options all 2 or 3 times the amount of the first camper that we were talking about. He said "would you consider financing? The rates are great" read more

Although our experience has not been completely positive to this point, this can change once we have possession of our new RV. We made the deal, with Jason. He is patient and normally available. But, we are in limbo waiting for trade ins to be paid off. In addition service is waiting on parts. We came here weeks ago, instead of Yuma because we are closer to Mesa. We had established a relationship with the dealer in Yuma, but our salesman became MIA with followup. So after a few months we decided to look at Toms Camper land. I hope I am able to complete this review next week with 4-5 stars. Today, the pay off issues are my main concern, although I am told not to be concerned my trade ins have a payment due, and I must keep insured what we are still responsible for. Additionally payments begin within the week, for the new RV loan. We are going into the 4th of July weekend today is the 3rd. No word on repairs, our pick up date is the 8th. UPDATE-Our banks made payments on my pay offs from my accounts, and continued to pay insurence on trade in. Paperwork from finance company is incorrect on their web site.
