Great new location but seems understaffed, like many restaurants today. We went to the old location a few times a year. It always felt a bit cramped and while this location does but have the same character, the increased amount of space is totally worth it. They also are able to open the large windows to create more ventilation, which is really appreciated, especially since most of the staff were not wearing masks correctly and the tables were not distanced (eg booths were all used vs blocking off some for distancing). I don't say these things as major criticisms at this point in the pandemic, but those who expect perfect coronavirus protocol should go at less busy times. We went at a busy time and service was very slow, but the employees were working really hard. The food was great as always. Fairly priced and hot. My kids absolutely loved it. Blue Ash Chili has always been on our list to go to and we finally able to make it happen! They had a good sized menu with hearty portions. As described on the menu, the burgers were indeed thick and juicy. The crinkle cut fries were a nice side to add. Didn't provide pictures as a 4 way and cheese coney looks the same in all the other pictures. I wanted to give an update on the new location. I did notice that the spaghetti is smaller which is good because you don't have pasta overpowering the ways and I did notice the cheese was not piled on as in the past but I am guessing that may be due to the rising prices of food products. My wife had a 4 way and ordered the chili cheese fries. I have to say the fries are better and cooked perfectly. They were crinkle cuts but were done and were not soggy. Also since they are now in an open area the noise level was higher which made it hard to talk which really isn't their problem since there is no ceiling tiles to absorb the sound. Overall the food was good as always and I like the new location with more room and especially the parking which is better than the old location. read more

Ok so the chili cheese with the Dude seriously hot sauce yuummm!! .... Beef and cheddar used a different cheese that was shredded instead of liquid but not in a bad way...BLT was good minus the bagged lettuce taste, the sandwich overall had a plastic taste... would have preferred A leaf lettuce of some sort rather than pre-bagged shredded lettuce!!! Does not feel like a very well run place. The issue is service-everyone seems to try to do everything, so there is no consistency or accountability in service. You'll walk in and stand in line, despite tables being open. Multiple staff will look at you, and move in the other direction to do something else. On this visit, we waited 8 minutes to get seated (we were first in line with many open table), 10 minutes to get a menu, and 6+ more minutes to get someone to take our order. Menu tries to be everything to everyone, and it's just okay... not bad, but nothing great. We've tried this place a few times, and it's always been the same bad experience. I'm done. read more

When I questioned the waiter why they are so much smaller, he told me that you have to specify if you want double meat? Be aware if you order a double decker. It's NOT a double decker. We eat here often, we always receive good service and the food is great. Today's special was blackened fish tacos. The menu said street style and I assumed a smaller taco - I received 3 well portioned tacos with big chunks of blackened fish topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and Chipotle aioli. Blue Ash Chili was great! It was my first time having Cincinnati chili while being in Cincinnati. I chose this place over the beloved chili chain-restaurant for the "hidden gem" experience, only to later find out a celebrity chef had visited there for a TV episode. The 3-way chili was genuinely delicious and had all the seasonings and textures I expected, but better. I also tried "the lizard," which I thought was a classic coney+fried pickle...but ended up just being a big, fried pickle spear, chili, and cheese. It was a delicious novelty, and oddly, the person that later sat next to me at the bar ALSO ordered "the lizard." I can see why Cincinnati chili can be polarizing, but I can only suggest people try it after doing some recipe research to be aware of the typical spices. While most people go here for the chili (one of my husband's favorites,) I love the huge double deckers. One sandwich comes out as four mini meals for me and would definitely be more than one meal for most. It's perfect with a side of their fries (crinkle cut) or onion rings. You can even get a combo side of French fries/onion rings. A genius move more places should offer. You can also get Skinny double deckers for a smaller portion and the double deckers come in every imaginable combination, including goetta, pastrami, corned beef and egg, tuna and chicken salads. Besides full breakfast, burgers, other cold and hot sandwiches, salads, and comfort food like meatloaf, they have a whole dessert case of cakes and pies and offer huge crazy shakes. They also have a bar. And, there is delivery through GrubHub, always a plus. I've also tried their version of the beef 'n' cheddar sandwich. While the beef and onion bun were a million times better than Arby's, the cheese sauce was a little funky and tasted more like flour. I've also had the open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Seems like a group service effort which can be great for drink refills but difficult for other needs. Food good. Food runner brought hot food to table. New building is great, especially when they open up the rolling wall and let in fresh air. I've been here before they moved to their current location and this is based on my experience of all the times I've been there (7 times total the last 5 years). I give it 3 stars for their selection of food and their service. Knock one for based on value you get for the amount of food you receive. The hot pastrami ($7.99) was good and the side of fries are extra ($3.09). I felt like the portions were on the smaller size than similar restaurants. My husband got the Sunrise burger and side of onion rings. The amount of onion rings for $6 was modest and didn't seem worth the price. They're friendly enough and good neighborhood establishment but won't seek or go here anytime soon for similar food at another restaurant where I won't leave hungry. read more

Great Cincinnati chili diner with lots of options. The double decker sandwiches are excellent and will fill the belly just right. The other main differences from the other chili parlors are the options of coneys you can order. There's the Slaw Dog with come slaw, the Lizard with a fried pickle, the new Mac Dawg with Mac and cheese and my favorite the Dogless Popper that had fried jalapeño caps instead of a hotdog. Fantastic experience. The three way is the best I have had. Very close to skyline, but definitely one step up. Only one portion size was available for the chili spaghetti, and it proved to be just about right for me. If you are a big eater, you may leave hungry - I recommend maybe adding a side to your meal (there are at least 15 to choose from). My wife's BLT looked and tasted amazing. She loved her cole slaw as well, and said it was one of the best versions she has tried. Service was great. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff who seem to enjoy working at Blue Ash Chili. It was my birthday so I wanted to try a few things. I've never had Blue Ash Chili. So, I ordered a cheeseburger as well as a cheese coney with fries and onion rings through Door Dash and everything was great! I especially enjoyed the onion rings. Also, it all showed up piping hot! A few days later a friend was raving about Skyline and I quickly said "no way, Skyline does not have the best cheese coneys."I tried Blue Ash Chili on my birthday and it was bomb!" So, we quickly placed a carry out order on line for cheese coneys, fries and onion rings. Ugh! So embarrassing!! We showed up five minutes early to get our food and I saw it sitting on the counter ready. I'm not sure if the lady's name was Laura or Lori but I asked because she blatantly ignored me with her back to me and didn't turn around. I finally spoke up and she turned around with a sh*t eating grin on her face and said yeessss I told her I was here to pick up a take out order and she seriously rolled her eyes at me!
