Went with my wife. Server was good. Tables are small but fine. We were seated quickly and the server was attentive. Ambiance is noisy--there was live music, which I wasn't expecting, so if you like that, then maybe that's a positive for you. It wasn't for me--just made a loud restaurant even louder. Wife had salmon, I had halibut. Tuna tartare for starter. Starter was okay--not great, but a lot of food and not bad at all. Just average. Wife liked her salmon. I tried hers and the salmon was a little overcooked, but okay. She certainly didn't mind and enjoyed it. She wouldn't eat the grilled (pretty burnt broccoli) but I didn't think it was "that" burnt. The halibut was a different story... the beurre blanc sauce was heavy, heavy salt. It touched everything and ruined the whole meal and I couldn't eat it. No way did they taste that before sending it out--I like beurre blanc sauces and this one was inedible. My wife couldn't eat it either. The server offered to remake / let me choose something else. But the wait was long enough and I just wanted to be done. The server was great. The food wasn't. For the price I certainly expect the restaurant to know how to make a beurre blanc sauce on a regular menu item. read more

The restaurant was tastefully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and inviting. The food was awesome; the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, while the fish tacos were moist and flavorful. The old fashioned and dirty martini were made very well! I will definitely be back! read more

Sabree was amazing gave us great service and delicious drinks, the food we had was also delicious, we split the Citrus Mahi Mahi, the Octopus Risotto and the house salad and topped it off with the Key Lime Pie. So unbelievably disappointed. My husband and I decided to try this new place on Saturday for lunch. We got there around 1:30pm and the place was empty except for one table. We were seated promptly. We sat and sat and sat and sat some more. At least 15 min probably longer with no acknowledgment at all. No water, no hello, nothing. In fact after sitting about 10 minutes I was cold so my husband went to the car and grabbed my sweatshirt. When returning he was surprised we hadn't been greeted. After about 10 minutes more of ignoring us, we were so annoyed that we got up and left. As we were walking out, the guy at the bar just looked at us. So I said we're leaving after 20 min since nobody here wants to acknowledge us. Not even with water. He said nothing. Not sure if we'll return. Such a shame. Especially for a new place trying to woo the community. read more

My husband and I came here for the 1st time for dinner the other night and it was so good! We tried the crab cakes, which was delicious. I got the chicken and shrimp burrito and it was full of flavor, good size portion too. I also had a refreshing cocktail, will definitely come back and try the sea bass. read more

Ordered 2 appetizers and only one came out. Figuring out the other one was a fried dish and a little harder to prepare. I let it go but after 25 minutes, it didn't come out. I asked the waiter to check and he did but never came back to tell me it wasn't ordered. when I saw the waiter again. I told him to cancel it because our food would be here. one minute later the food showed up at the table and he agreed it was too late. Ordered three of the most expensive things on the menu.. the halibut was OK. The chili and Seabass was frostbitten and crunchy which it should not be in the lobster risotto was absolutely bland no flavor whatsoever.. very very disappointed in the food flavors so I never ordered a dessert. The environment is entirely too loud. You can't hear your company talk to you without screaming over the loud live music and there's no sound barrier so it just the whole room echoes.. It seemed like they were missing servers or bus boys because it seemed like there was no organization.. for $300 dinner I expected way more and will never go back there again. read more

My husband took me here for my birthday Sunday. He ordered the crab cakes and I ordered the calamari and tempura shrimp for our appetizers. The calamari was the best I've had in forever. He said the crab cakes were ok the breading was too thick(AKA he's from Baltimore ) For our entree he ordered the pasta and grilled shrimp. I ordered the burrito with chicken and shrimp. That's where the mishap started they brought me out asada and shrimp burrito full of pickled onions and grilled onions I specifically said no to both of those. The drinks were meh. The server Sabre was amazing and so much fun and personable. That was the highlight of the night. I want to try and go again to see if I will have a better food and drink experience. read more

The restaurant is new, think of an upscale beach house. Service was great. We started a carajillo for a drink, which was fantastic. We got the guacamole and the shrimp cocktail as appetizers. Wow !! we can honestly say this is one of the best shrimp cocktails we've ever had. We got the chilean Seabass, which was flaky, tender and buttery, and the surf and turf. steak was great, but the lobster stole the show, not sure what spices and herbs they had on top, but it was fantastic !! and if you go on the weekends, you can have their oysters and their shrimp posole, which are both amazing. Went to Blu Seafood for our Anniversary. Hoping for a great night. First beer I ordered they were out of. No biggie that happens. Ordered Crab Cakes for an appetizer. They never came out. Waitress forgot to order. Didn't say anything because we didn't see her for so long that by the time she came back we just decided to forget it because it was so long. Our waitress was super friendly and happy and I hate ruining a servers night so just decided to move on from that, but then everything else happened. I ordered the $68 Surf and turf. My wife ordered Mahi Tacos. My ribeye had so much fat on it I couldn't believe they even served it. My lobster was so overcooked I had to cut it with a steak knife. My wife's tacos were awful. The Mahi was so overcooked and the mango salsa was awful. Again I HATE complaining so I didn't send it back, which I should have. Part of the reason I didn't was we didn't see our waitress again until we had our food for about 20 minutes. By then I was just ready to get the heck out of there. My wife decided to say something to the server. She was apologetic and gave us a $17 discount. We saw her talking to her manager. The most disappointing thing was that the manager didn't even have the respect to come talk to us. She just stood at the bar doing nothing. The atmosphere was fine and we liked the music and would have maybe given a second chance had the manager addressed us, but now we will never go back. On top of that as we left I grabbed the card they gave us for our anniversary only to open it and find it blank. Not even a computer generated signature. Just blank!. Really was hoping for a better night and with the other restaurants in the area they need to step it up! read more

We started with drinks - a Cosmo and a tropical Dawn. Both were fantastic enough we ordered a second round. Tuna tartare was our appetizer and it was perfect, the fish was very fresh. For our main courses, my husband ordered the Presidente tacos which he enjoyed. I ordered the Sea Chilean bass, which often is overcooked but not in this case, it was perfect. Mashed potatoes were good. Side salad was missing dressing but was easily rectified. We passed on dessert only because Frostails is next door and we couldn't wait to get over there. As with any restaurant in our area, we love to support new businesses and try what is being offered. Unfortunately, Blu-Seafood provided a very lack luster experience that left us discouraged. Here are my thoughts: AMBIENCE/DECOR - Appreciated the calming coastal modern decor with its wicker and rattan oversized lamps and hanging greenery from the bar area. The dust on the tables, however, including ours and the empty table behind us was unsettling. The little center piece of a sand-filled aquarium type bowl was nice, but an unlit candle inside of it served no purpose and would have helped with a cozy feel. SILVERWARE/PLATING - Wrapped extremely tightly in a paper napkin, the IKEA silverware immediately brought down the vibe of the place. I've received better silverware at a greasy spoon. I can only imagine if we had ordered the $185 plate on the menu, how unsettling it would have been to receive an IKEA 3-pronged fork to eat the meal with. For the prices, get better silverware - trust me, people will notice and 'IKEA' stamped fork and knife. FOOD/DRINK - Do not, i repeat... DO NOT, put on your menu "Fresh lump crabmeat" (taken directly from the menu), and then serve us 4, pre-fried then frozen pucks of absolute mush (ala Gorton's Seafood frozen fish sticks), dripping in grease from the oil. There was no fresh lump crabmeat to be found, nor a taste of crab... or even Krab. We also had the BLU Tacos and the Shrimp and Belly Tacos. Flavor on those... yes, you got it. However, please warm up the tortillas before serving. The shrimp and belly tacos came with two dry, room-temp, ripping flour tortillas. An oversight, I'd hope. The signature cocktail 'Ocean Water' we'd ordered was served in a Topo Chico bottle, causing us to wonder if some was just poured out to make room for the 'supposed' tequila, aptly named 'Ghost Tequila'. Playing the role of a ghost was certainly on point. All of their drinks, however, did sound really good and I'm sure lives up to at least the flavor. SERVICE - Was very nice to be greeted right upon entering and no wait in being sat. Hostess was great. Our server, while very nice, was clearly new to the trade. Despite acknowledging we were done with the grease-puck 'crab' cakes (2+ of the 4 provided), he never cleared the dirty appetizer dishes from the empty side of our table. Dirty dishes, that are clearly not being touched any further need to be cleared. It was also a bit odd that he didn't take a brief moment to set down the dirty plates he was holding in one hand from another table, to fumble through his apron on providing us the hand-held device to pay. He just held onto them, stood and watched us go through the device for payment/tip, and them fumbled it back into his apron. Some improvement areas for him, for sure. Would I visit again? Possibly. We love seafood and they had a really interesting menu of "Sonoran-inspired seafood" that sounded appealing. They have the location and decor going for them as well. The several other factors that really caused us to wonder on whether this place was worth it, is still causing me to question our return, 3 days later. Happy Dining! read more

This was one of the worst places I have ever been to. I would not recommend this place for anyone. Everyone that was at my table would agree that they will never comeback to Blu Seafood again. We were waiting for over an 1hr and 15 mins for our food which wasn't worth the wait. This is probably my 2nd time ever rating a restaurant and this has to be one of the worst if not the worst place EVER. You guys need to improve on how long customers has to wait for their food because customer #73 gives you 2 thumbs down. read more

The food was fine but the restaurant seemed understaffed and inexperienced. We visited on a weeknight party of 5 and had to wait a few minutes to be acknowledged at the host stand to be seated. After that the bar tender drinks took quite a while to come out. None of that was particularly bothersome, but our entrees came out 1 or 2 at a time over the course of about 30 minutes which I find unacceptable.
