I bought my Volvo S60 there for a decent price, but I will never go to their shop again for repairs. I had a Small, simple recall on door latches, I took it there to get them fixed and all was good for a couple days. Now as I shut my door you can tell there is something loose, but also my door handle gets stuck which doesn't allow me to shut my door. It was a simple fix but they seemed to have made it worse. I also had a check engine light problem that they said they "fixed" and 20 minutes after I left the dealership the light came back on. We have been more than patient with all the mistakes on ordering parts and not having time to fix our car. After having our car for 10 days, it never was fixed correctly and after taking it to another dealership to have it fixed we find out there are all kinds of parts missing and they messed up the turbo on the car also. I had an awful experience at this dealership this last week. First, I viewed the dealer website and found a car I liked for 47,420. It was a 2021 Audi A5 Sportback. MSRP was around 55,000. After I told them I wanted the car, they called me back about an hour later and said there was a computer glitch and the internet price was wrong and they were selling it for MSRP. After we haggled a little bit they only came down to 52,500 for a demo vehicle that had a little over 5,000 miles on it. I asked for all the numbers ahead of time but didn't get them presented to me until I drove 4 hours to pick up the car on Saturday. Then they presented me with a 6.75 interest rate for 84 months even though I have a 741 credit score and even though the Audi site has much lower rates on their website - https://www.audiusa.com/.../shopping.../special-offers.html# . I called a credit union today and they told me with my credit score I could get 3.9% APR for 84 months if I used them so I will be getting a different car loan it looks like. Cut to today and 2.5 hours into my trip, I get a call from James Navarro saying that car has been sold and there's nothing they can do about it. Brett refused to answer my calls and I couldn't reach their general managers (Victor Malkom, Jose Chavez) either because they were conveniently "unavailable". I requested James to sell me another comparable vehicle they have in their inventory for the same price and he refused that too. Left them an email and haven't heard back on that either. After negotiations, they gave me a very good price. My local dealership's rock bottom price was significantly higher. The vehicle I wanted was in Chicago. After i made a deposit they very quickly got the vehicle. As I was not trading in, the salesman, Brayden personally drove to Champaign and picked me up. Have been having problems with my car since I got it 8 months ago.The people that work here DON'T care about you. They always have new people working which is a red flag. They ALWAYS have attitudes.Had a flat tire and had to call five times and no one ever called me back. The salesperson I was assigned was poor. He didn't ask questions about my needs and had very little knowledge. I went back in a week to look at a specific car (one I had looked at the week before with the same salesperson). I went to the sales manager to ask for assistance. He assigned me to the same salesperson. I didn't want to be a pain, so I went ahead and worked with him. I asked to test drive the vehicle. I tested everything I knew and looked at everything I could. The vehicle seemed good. I asked to take it to a 3rd party automotive shop for an inspection - if it checked out good, I would purchase. They agreed (saleperson and the manager). I lined it up for the next day, in the afternoon - they knew the day/time/place. The next day, a few hours before the inspection, the salesperson called me to tell me they had sold the car! Talk about unethical! We basically had a deal in place and they couldn't hold off a few hours for me to have it inspected. Pitiful. Unethical. Would recommend you steer clear of this place. read more

A few weeks ago, I left the dealership feeling very proud of my new car purchase. This was after being in leased vehicles for 6 years following my divorce, to be able to purchase to own a new 2019 VW Jetta for myself and my daughter. I actually had a car deal almost closed with another dealership in town. However, I needed to meet with my car salesman at Grossinger's to finalize how turning in my leased vehicle would end. I was two months away from the end of the lease. During negotiation, if I simply turned in my leased vehicle, I would have 3 charges totaling $1,100.00. These were for a disposition fee, a charge for going 2,000 miles over the lease, and the remaining two car payments. The salesman negotiated that if I stayed with VW and went with a new Jetta (or other VW vehicle), these fees would be absorbed and I would NOT have to pay these charges. I would be eligible for a "VW" loyalty program. I asked him specifically, more than once, if I should wait 2 months so as not to have to pay the last two car payments. He said no. Those could be "waived". As far as the over-mileage, I was told I would get dealership "forgiveness" since I would be buying from them again. (I was also told by a different sales person a couple months prior that I could receive dealership "forgiveness" on the over mileage if I purchased a new vehicle from the dealership when I had stopped in for a service call). Low and behold, on day 30 now of owning my car, I received an invoice from Corporate VW for over $800.00 to pay for the mileage overage fee and the remaining two car payments. When I was crunching my numbers and working with my credit union on the car loan, I determined I could put an additional $800 towards my down payment to help bring my monthly payment down. If I knew I was going to be hit with these charges after the fact, and still be expected to pay out, I would have just gone with the other car at the other dealership with an HONEST salesman who offered a very competitive deal for a comparable car. I also would have had the extra $800 in reserve in my savings to pay towards these final charges. When I called my salesman at Grossinger's today to ask why I received this invoice, I was told I "misunderstood" him during negotiations and that he "discounted" the new car to offset these fees from the leased vehicle. Funny, the timing of finding this out, is now after I've had the car for 30 days and have no recourse. It's also after receiving some email requests to complete a survey on my salesman which at the time, and happy with my car sale, I gave high remarks. I am a Project Manager and Bookkeeper by trade for a local equipment company for 10 years. I diligently review details that involve numbers, contracts, for my living etc. I did not misunderstand the salesman when he said on 3 different occasions, that the 3 fees involved with turning the leased car in would be absorbed in the sale of the new car. I was bold faced lied to. The sale of this car feels tainted to me now. This situation is causing unnecessary financial strain and duress. I have nothing good to say about the salesman who scammed me into this car sale. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone for a car sales from the VW department. Everything that would make a woman fearful or apprehensive of having a car salesman use sketchy sales tactics just to secure his own sale rings true here in every sense. We asked to test drive the car but they wouldn't let us drive the car unless we could say we were willing to buy the car at the advertised price. They ordered the wrong part for my car which set the repair back a week. They then could not finish the job on the day they said they would be able to and did not even bother calling me to say it would not be done. I then drove all the way to their location to pick up my vehicle and waited for half an hour before being told that 5 more labor hours were still needed on my vehicle. I needed the vehicle for a trip early the next morning and would have appreciated a least a little bit of notice or a call before I drove out that they would not be done working it. They were then unable to provide me with a loaner car. Very unhappy. I have been using Suds for years with very few problems and it is sad to see the low quality of the new management. I traded and bought a used car, They didn't disclose all the faults in the car and when I got home it didn't lock, There were couple more flaws which they said they will fix. Salesman went back and forth and I called like 20+ times, No response - They kept saying we will fix it. After I spoke to the manager, I was told I have to pay for the repair and also for the stuff which I was told would be dealer's responsibility, I don't think they stand by the quality of vehicles they sell. After I paid for the repairs, The service guy told me he will give me 2 keys instead of 1. They sold me a faulty vehicle, I got my first car from this place, So went there because I trusted the dealership, I was disappointed. I am never buying any cars from this place. I bought my first Subaru here Sept 2016 in Normal. Came here because of my dealings with a prior Ford purchase at the dealer in Peoria who is also the Subaru dealer. They didn't care about me after I purchased the Ford C-Max lemon there. So no more repeat business from me.Yea if " they wouldn't sell it to family they wouldn't sell it to you" Be glad you're not family! I got a great trade in deal from Sam at Grossinger. Of course it took a lot of back and forth with him. He super low balled me first as they all usually do but I hung in there and he came around. They didn't have the Cross trek in stock I wanted but went to Chicago the next day and got me one. Andy was my salesman and was great. He has since left. I had a good experience and Jami was wonderful to work with. I even called service with a question and they put a tech on the phone with me to answer my question. He was very polite and caring and said to call anytime and ask for him! I can't believe all the negative reviews. I just started driving a Subaru that I bought in the Chicago suburbs as a pre-owned certified model. I wish I could've found the used model I was looking for at Grossinger, but that didn't work out. What has really worked out well is going to them for service. They have exceeded my expectations! They have Subaru mechanics that are passionate about Subaru and own them personally! This was our first new car purchase and they were extremely attentive and helpful with our questions. While they didn't have the exact car we wanted on their lot, they went out and found the car and got it for us. We personally worked with Scotty and he was so helpful! He was extremely patient and kind and was very sensitive to our needs. Took a week to get an appointment for brakes and an electrical issue with my Lincoln. Two days later I called inquire on progress and had to ask for a loaner. I signed the loaner form, and later noticed I was driving their VW but the papers said I was given an Audi. I called and they said "oops". I was given a phone number to text or call with questions; no one seemed to respond to either. Days went by, no updates other than Lincoln service guy didn't come in, now they are ordering a part. After 10 days (10!) I called and asked to speak with a manager; no response. The next day I got a text saying they didn't get the part; I suspect it had never been ordered. Meanwhile I am driving around a loaner without paperwork to support that. Did not enjoy driving the VW at all. After 18 days I finally got my car back, $2700 bill; no apologies on what took so long, no thanks for being so patient. Terrible customer service and I suspect I got hosed on repairs, but after that experience I just wanted to get my car back and get the heck out of there. read more

I had the worst buying experience at Grossinger. My sales person was nice, but had to google facts about my cars I was test driving. That I could forgive. After some back and forth and finally agreeing on a price, I waited over 4 hours to sign paper work. Paperwork only took about 20 minutes. Fast forward a week and I am told that I need to return to the dealership because they never asked for/ received my down payment. I had to make a special trip down to do so because I live in Peoria. Fast forward 4 more weeks and I get a call that my paperwork was not done properly and I was going to need to make another special trip to sign a document they forgot about. So I make another special trip and sign the documents. Another week later I get the call that they waited too long to file my paperwork and I have to resign everything again. I am furious at this point. The financing woman offered to meet me in Peoria so that I don't have to make another special trip. I go to the meeting place and she is over 20 minutes late. And the Financing rep doesn't even show. They sent one of the young men from their service shop with my personal and financial information. I do not know this person. I call the financing rep who promises me some sort of repayment for my time and understanding if I sign. After this incident I made a point to go to the dealership and talk to the manager, SAM BOGOFF and told him about my experience. He seemed genuinely concerned, and again offered to compensate me for my time and trouble that they had caused. Another couple weeks later I still had not heard from the company until I am told I need to sign and drive yet another document to the financial institution that gave me my car loan. I refused to sign until I heard from SAM BOGOFF who immediately called and again promised compensation that never came through. So to recap, I bough a car in September and didn't have any official paperwork or make a single payment until January. I had to make multiple special trips to fix their mistakes and was offered no sort of compensation. Shady company with shady practices. I would never recommend them to anyone else. Literally can't even get an oil change correct. Three for three in failed attempts, under-filling the oil in my Volvo vehicle, and with oil that doesn't meet manufacturer specifications. Inconvenient and incompetent, and potentially hazardous to have them service your vehicle. Sales is over market and a combination of hidden fees and high pressure when my friend purchased from them. Also i bought a subaru w/a manual trans last year and 3 months later the clutch went out. I didnt have a warranty but they covered about 80% of the repair cost to make it right and really didnt have to do it. Everyone is real nice to us anytime we stop in even tho im covered in tattoos and look like i cant afford shit.
