I took a trip only to look at a car and have my current vehicle appraised. I made it abundantly clear I wasn't able to purchase at the time. I was still pushed into a test drive and brought to the sales desk. The Manager said my car was only worth $225, stating the transmission was slipping and the engine was misfiring. All of which is so completely and obviously untrue I could not believe it (I had also gotten it appraised elsewhere for 10x that). The car still has half its engine life left and has had it's transmission serviced at proper intervals. Then they pulled my credit after explicitly being told not too. Even after all that, they have the gall to say "I'm doing everything for you, why cant we make a deal?" Look elsewhere.

(In case you're wondering, Genesis is the jazzed version of Hyundai--but Genesis models are undergoing recalls for serious fuel pump problems and stalling, so its not all that jazzy after all.) The car I bought was right for me but the finance manager saw himself as a "Top Gun" figure who could out gun everyone. He sold me a service warranty under the claim that I wouldn't have to pay for it because, as he implied, it would be rolled into the loan. Not true, so I later went back to cancel the warranty. He was surly and sullen and was so angry he refused to give me a copy of the cancellation documents, and later I had to ask the general manager to provide them. I made it clear to the dealership that this was bad business and asked to have my removed from their email list. They said they would but this didn't happen, and I had to have a long email exchange with their junior online person. Eventually, they unsubscribed me after about a dozen emails. I also asked them to remove me from their postal advertising mailing list. A few weeks later, I got an advertisement from Ryan Gremore, the president of the O'Brien group, that was addressed to the Mitsubishi general manager and it went like this: "Hey Steven, do you know I can reach this customer? I want to buy his vehicle." That was unbelievably lame and juvenile, and I called the number provided for the general manager, only to find out he was "in a meeting" (three times!) and finally, a recording said the number was non-functioning. Just another slick move to evade responsibility while trying to make fast money from the public. I eventually made phone contact when the general manager saw a review I left and called to say that he was sorry for any "misunderstanding." I asked him to remove my name and address from their system and to never send me another advertisement by postal or email. He said they would do so, and I thought I would close the books on this slick, deceptive car dealership. A few weeks ago, another advertisement from O'Brien showed up in my mailbox. You have to admire this sort of incompetence because it shows a sort of moronic persistence. If a dealership can't get something this simple right, what are they going to do to your car? (Check Reddit commenters and you'll find out.) I've had the great pleasure in the past couple years of helping several people NOT buy a car from O'Brien. There are other places to buy a car. Make sure it's not O'Brien because they will upsell you, trick you, and then fake you out at every step of the way. There's a pattern here: be slick and use tricks, move inventory, and squeeze out as much as you can. Buyer, beware. O'Brien gets one star only because Yelp does not allow zero.

In my long lifetime we (hubby and I)I have purchased many different cars: a Lexus, a Toyota, a Chevy, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Lincoln MKZ. So it's saying a lot that O'Brien Honda impressed me from the moment I walked in. The person at reception desk greeted us immediately pointing out the lounge, offering a bottle of water or coke, and the free popcorn! More importantly they called a "sales consultant and educator" (my phrase) to help us. Terrance Harrell. with his calm demeanor and expert answers to our questions, was our guy! He built a sense of trust with us that has never changed. I KNEW he was giving me TRUTHFUL answers, even if they were NOT always the answers I wanted. Terrance spent a lot of time making sure that I was getting they type of car I wanted and needed. Honda cars are high-quality anyway, so I appreciated even more that he was not hyping but educating. Even AFTER we committed to buy our car (which I love!), he continued to educate (not sell). So when I drove the car off the lot, I was happier and even more committed to this purchase, because I knew how to drive it and HOW TO take advantages of the neat features the Honda 2019 Accord offers!! (PS. my two fav are: 1. the heads-up display that even tells me the street I am on!! (look under the compass display). 2) how the car slowly applies the brakes automatically on the highway, to warn me if I get too close to the car in front of me (and I SET THE DISTANCE!). (ps. I had just totaled my car because I braked to late for the other car). I was also impressed by Karen Kastronova, the business manager who handled the final paperwork. She is friendly, ethical and caring. Ryan O'Brien happened to be in the office during my last visit and Karen introduced him to me. Have you seen his commercials? They are attention-getting commercials! By contrast, Ryan is a modest man. Yes, he is high energy, but rather than taking credit for all his successes, he credits others for his success. That is the mark of a true leader! I am Sold on O'Brien Honda.

I must say, this team knows how to put the customer first…read more I should begin by saying that we love Hyundai vehicles. Our last 4 have been Hyundais (2 Sonata and 2 Santa Fe). I say this to explain that we love the company. Now let me explain why we love this dealer. First, and foremost, their service department is the best we have ever dealt with. They actively work to build a rapport and relationship with each owner, and do what they can to make the experience satisfactory. Even if you don't buy a vehicle from them, take it to them to be serviced! Now, their sales team. As I said, we've had 4 Hyundais, but only the last two have been purchased from them. Our first was not purchased due to a less than satisfactory experience with a salesperson that was not customer-centric. The second was because they did not have the specific used vehicle we wanted. Our last two vehicles, however, have been the most painless purchases we have ever made. Not only did they offer several options as far as vehicles, but the negotiation process with both vehicles was without all of the "let me check for one more discount" back-and-forth that happens at some dealers. You can quickly get them to the "This is the payment amount we want per month" and they will do everything in their power to get it there. As long as Hyundai keeps making vehicles that we are happy with, we will continue to use Extreme.

They have now replaced 2 transmissions, the engine, the axle, spark plugs, and now 2 catalytic converters. Still no help from the dealership. Talked to the GM on 4/22/2026. First thing he made clear was he was not going to help until I removed my social media post. I informed him when I made that post, it was removed within 24 hours so then he was willing to speak with myself and my husband. He ended the conversation with a promised return phone call. He has yet to call us back. I have reached out since via phone and email. All I want is for someone to listen to me and help me. I have been nice. I have been respectful. I have not found one helpful person within this company. I do not know what else to do at this point.

This is somewhat understandable but there was no apology. Upon picking up the vehicle she was kept waiting. She heard the workers talking about some drama about the vehicle. They left the lights on and killed the battery so it wouldn't start. She asked what the problem was and was told "we're just warming it up for you". When she finally got the car, the battery light was on. She went back in and asked why it was on. They said "that just happens sometimes when you haven't driven it for a while". She drove it to her apartment and out of curiosity, tried to turn it back on. It wouldn't start. Making a mistake is one thing. Trying to cover it up and causing further distress to someone without a vehicle is another. They gave her a rental vehicle for the day as compensation for full transparency, but even after this never admitted fault. If she wouldn't have overheard them talking about it, she never would have been the wiser
