Garlic Asiago Bloom
Ter L.

I'm always down for a bagel but make sure it's a bagel stuffed with cream cheese. Bloom Bagel 100% delivers when it comes to that. Typically, I am not a fan of Asian types of cream cheese due to it being more on the sweeter side vs the American version. Being completely honest, I avoided Bloom Bagels and it's hype for so long because of that simple fact. Known for their blend of traditional NY styled bagels and the Asian flavorings, I just didn't think that was too appealing for my tastebuds. Boy was I wrong... I see first hand why the Garlic Asiago Bloom frequently sells out so quickly. For those who are savory babes like myself, this one comes highly recommended and hits the spot each and every time. Flavors are so balance with the sharpness of the cheese, strong garlic profiles, and a slight sweetness that just rounds everything out. While the Chocoflan Espresso Latte happens to be a seasonal option, it does come highly recommended. If|when you have the opportunity to try, DO. IT. The flan cream top is creamy, rich, and addictively great. The caramel and cocoa notes balance out bold espresso shots. 5/5 stars. I would love to come back to try the Banana Espresso Latte and have my little monster try the Cali Roll Bloom being that it is right up her alley of things she loves. Y U M.

Jalapeno Bloom, asiago bloom, iced Vanilla Bean Latte*

Really good, heavy bagels. They don't skimp out on cream cheese. You'll want to go early in the day to have a proper picking of flavors! I liked the jalapeño bloom- the peppers actually have a nice kick! $9 per bagel bloom. I got an iced vanilla bean paste latte and it was good, just very small. No where to sit inside- really a grab and go place. Very nice service.

I stopped in on a weekday around opening and waited in a short line that moved quickly. The cashier was helpful with the drink recommendation between the flan latte or flan matcha which both sounded delicious. Opted for the flan latte and the classic bagel. My order was completed in about 2-3 minutes and I was out the door. The classic bagel was a cream cheese lovers dream. Super savory and very filling. It had a sweet and salty flavor to it. The flan latte was delicious and sweet. Service was friendly and helpful. There was no place to sit and enjoy your food so it's a to go place. So the only ambiance really comes from the customer service which was great during my visit. There's a very structured line inside so you know where to order and where to wait. There was a no filming inside of the staff without permission which was a first I've seen something like that. The parking lot is shared with other businesses so parking can be scarce when busy.

This seems to be a popular spot. We came around noon and it was still busy. They close at 2pm. Things to know... There will be a Line. The space is small and only a few people can stand inside before they tell you to keep the door closed. Nice thing is they are well staffed and keep the wait time short. There is a way to order for pickup if you want to avoid standing in line. They text you when the order is ready. Those wet wipes they offer are a must. Food: Fluffy bagels filled with creamy cheese then brushed with what tasted like garlic butter and toasted slightly. Depending on what filling you choose, the topping and flavor change with taste And texture. The chorizo was ok but I like the garlic asiago more. Size is larger than a regular bagel. Price is not cheap so be ready to dish out more than you would a regular bagel. It's like a mini meal all in one of you will. If you find it satisfying to watch all the elements while pulling apart the segments, this will hit perfect. The Flan.matcha was perfect as well. I enjoyed the iced matcha and creamy top all the way to the last drink. The hot vanilla bean latte was good as well. I would return when craving something savory.

Corn cheese, Garlic herb, and Chili oil scallion bagels

Bloom Bagels had been on my list since all things Korean have become global and popular. Korean bagels? Sounds delish. Walked in on a weekend morning, surprisingly there wasn't a super long line, just one person in front of me. I ordered a box to take home for the fam. Went with the garlic asiago, chili oil scallion and corn cheese. The only one that's worth getting is the corn cheese. It was the group favorite in terms of flavors and balance. The filling is pretty excessive. There's like 2x the amount of filling/cream cheese necessary. We felt like we had to scrape a lot of the filling off since it just overpowered the bite. The chili oil was overpowering and kind of took over, couldn't really taste the scallion. The garlic asiago was standard, nothing to really write home about. The corn cheese though was unique and a nice mix of sweet and salty. All three were huge and great for sharing with a group though. Service is fast and friendly, a clear order line and a pick-up line. They also make drinks for those who are craving a lil matcha. I wouldn't go back again, I think one and done. Campbell has great breakfast and brunch spots, but if you're craving bagels Bloom is a creamy option.

We came here on a Saturday morning and they do get busy! There is no seating, so you order and leave to go eat somewhere else! For drinks, we got the banana matcha and chocolate coffee and both were very good and not overly sweet which was good! For food, we tried the chili scallion, garlic asiago, corn cheese, and their limited time chorizo bagel. All were very good in their special way. I think my favorite was the corn cheese because I like the mix of sweet and salty in that, but you can't go wrong with any of them!

Update: two years later I'm still coming here. They've gotten a lot busier now and the aesthetics in the store have gone downhill (no more cute dainty displays) but the flavors are still great. Parking is still kind of a pain but you can find street parking in the residential neighborhood next to the plaza.

My friend and I came here on a Sunday, and luckily the line wasn't too bad. It moved relatively quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long. My friend got the sweet corn bagel and the jalapeño bagel, while I got the Cali Roll bagel. With all the hype around this place, I was expecting the flavors to be a lot more pronounced. The bagels are around $8-9 each, so they're definitely on the pricier side, but they are generously stuffed. The sweet corn bagel had plenty of corn and a noticeable sweetness, but the overall flavor was still pretty mild. The jalapeño bagel had pickled jalapeños throughout, which gave it a nice acidity and some spice. The Cali Roll was a little disappointing for me. I expected it to have a lot of flavor, but it was surprisingly mild. There was definitely plenty of filling, which I appreciated, but I just wanted the flavors to be stronger. Overall, I think the bagels are worth trying at least once, especially because they're so generously filled. There are actually a few other ones I wanted to try, especially the garlic bagel and scallion chili oil bagel, so I'd probably come back to give those a try.

Absolutely delicious, warm creamy and flavorful bites of blooming bagels!! Regular bagels are dead to me now!! There was a longish line of about 10 people ahead of me mid morning but service was very quick. I waited all of maybe 10mins. There isn't any seating inside. It's a grab and go kinda place. I noticed a lot of people eating their bagels in their car. Great idea! They also provide wet wipes cuz those bagels be blooming all over you! I ordered the Classic, Asiago Garlic, Ube Coconut and the Scallion Chilli blooms. My favorites were the Asiago and Scallion ones. The Iced Ube Sesame Latte was lovely, nutty not too sweet and just right for me. I'll be back for the Banana matcha and more.

Soooooo good. Best bagels I've had. Store is small, it is separated by 2 sides - order and pick-up which keeps the flow organized, the workers are friendly, service was quick (literally 5min). Went at abt 12pm on a Friday and no line. They were sold out of Cali Roll and another one I don't remember the name of. Would definitely come back to try! Price breakdown: 1 Classic $8.50 1 Garlic Asiago $9.00 1 Chili Oil Scallion $9.00 1 Ube Almond $8.75

Bloom Bagels was all over social media, and after trying them, I can say they are completely worth the hype. By definition, these are not classic, dense, chewy bagels. They feel much more like a soft Korean-style baked bun, but regardless of what name goes on them, they are just delicious. I arrived pretty early in the morning, and it was already quite busy with a line forming, so placing a pickup order in advance seems like the best move for future visits. I picked up three items to share with my family: the Garlic Asiago Bloom, the Jalapeño Bloom, and the Chili Oil Scallion Bloom. My six-year-old nephew claimed the Garlic Asiago Bloom and absolutely loved it, calling it soft and delicious. The Jalapeño Bloom was also extremely good, offering a wonderful kick from the jalapeños alongside a very generous amount of cream cheese. My absolute favorite, however, was the Chili Oil Scallion Bloom. The chili oil flavor was wonderfully prominent and rich. What really stands out is the texture. Every single bloom is pillowy soft, which allows the dough to hold the rich fillings of cream cheese and melted mozzarella together perfectly. Because they are so rich and indulgent, this might not be an everyday bagel spot for me, but it is an incredible, unique treat whenever I want to indulge. Sharing these with my family made for a great experience, and I will definitely be back.

Yummy stuffed bagels! Came here last Sunday at around 11:30am. The inside is small so it's more of a grab-and-go shop. There were a few people ahead of me, but I was in and out within 10 minutes. Some of the flavors were sold out but there were still a good amount of options to choose from. I ordered 3 bagels, each being $9-9.50. The bagels came out really warm, and they're a good size. The bread was soft and fluffy. Out of the 3 flavors, my favorite would probably be the Garlic Asiago Bloom. It was perfectly garlicky, and I liked the cream/filling inside. The Cali Roll Bloom was also good but I felt the filling was just slightly dry and could've been creamier. The Chili Oil Scallion was also nice but just a little bit too spicy for me. Overall, the bagels were delicious, and I love the concept of stuffed bagels!

I was on my way to get some empanadas, but it's hard not to see the line outside of Bloom Bagels. When there's a line, common sense says it's popular, so we joined the line. Apparently, you can order online and go to pick up. They have 2 sides of entrance; the right side is for online order pickup, which avoids queuing and also avoids the risk of being sold out. We waited to get in. The store is small; when I was there, it looked like only 3 parties were in the store at any time. One comes out, one goes in. The staff also wants to maintain a reasonable capacity, so the AC inside is sufficient. They remind guests to close the door or not hold it open. I really like the idea of them posting a QR code so we can check out the live inventory situation before entering the store to order. Not only does this speed up the ordering process, but it also manages expectations. The unfortunate news for us was the Corn and Cheese was sold out. So we got the Garlic Asiago, a seasonal Bacon Gochujang, a Ube Matcha Latte and a hot Black Sesame Latte. I am not a bagel fan because I feel that it has too many carbs; the idea of Bloom stuffing ingredients to a bagel to provide more protein and fat elements to balance out the carbs is great. Both bagels tasted soft and slightly spicy which I did not expect from the Garlic Asiago. I kinda wish there's a bit more protein element than just cheesiness from a nutritional standpoint of a balanced meal, and it would also provide a more interesting texture in each bite. I dreamed of putting a sunny side up egg with burned edges on top so the yolks will soak up the bagel when I cut it up.... The drinks seem pricey for that size. We also don't have any options on ice or sweetness level. I was able to choose ice or hot for my black sesame latte and we could choose milk or oat milk. But the drinks are loaded. We couldn't taste any ube flavor in the Ube Matcha latte, but the matcha flavor is rich and strong. I could feel the depth of the ingredients saturating the whole drink. My black sesame latte is also rich in flavor and visibly loaded with dark sesame. So far this is probably the richest dark sesame latte I've ever had; I like it.

Ask the Community - Bloom Bagels

When is the best time to come when it won't be as busy or is it just always busy at every time of the day?

8 am when they open

How come the bagels are all showing out of stock when trying to order on line/ website?

Our bagels take 24 hrs to make from beginning to end, so once we sell out of a flavor for the day, we mark the item out of stock. We understand the frustration when this happens. Of course we try to make as many as possible, but unfortunately it is…

Do your bagels have egg in the dough or egg wash on them?

We do not use egg inside our bagel dough. However, some of the cream cheese or dips for the flavors might have egg. We will list which flavors have eggs in our menu. You are also welcome to ask staff to double check before ordering.

Are they still busy during the weekends? Like line outside type of deal?

No line last weekend when I went. They also have mobile order which is helpful

Then as she was making the drink, she had mine sitting at the counter for a good few minutes without calling my name because she was busy chatting it up with a customer, handing him a note, talking about travel plans, etc. When I asked where my drink was and that I had been waiting for a while the other barista proceeded to say that they've just been busy. No, barista making my drink was just not serving each customer kindly and equally. I've come here for years and have had good experiences, but based on my last visit, I'd come back for the quality coffee but not with a high expectation for the service and if I had a lot of time between grabbing coffee and the next thing - I was here for over 20 mins before I got my drink

I want to actually taste the espresso and chocolate, not something overly sweet or artificially flavored syrup and they get it right every time. Their mocha is rich and chocolatey without tasting like syrup, and the sweetness complements the coffee instead of overpowering it. It's exactly what I want in a morning coffee. They also have delicious meaty tamales sometimes which is such an unexpected and charming addition for a coffee shop, especially alongside Miss Miggins British pasties. I'm sorry, but what exactly are we tracking here, the coffee market? I understand market price at a seafood restaurant when you are ordering fresh fish, but for a single shot of espresso, that was a first for me. I ended up paying $5.50 for one single shot of espresso, and the latte was also $5.50. On top of that, I waited about 14 minutes for the espresso and latte. For two coffee drinks, that felt like a long wait. The croissants and some of the other pastries also did not look as fresh as I expected. The atmosphere is great, the presentation is impressive, and the concept is definitely cool. But when I pay $5.50 for a single espresso and have to wait 14 minutes, I expect the overall experience to match the price.

I am genuinely disappointed by my coffee almost every time I visit. If it's really bad to the point that I can't drink it, I'll ask for a remake, but a lot of the time I don't have the extra time to wait for them to make another one. It's incredibly frustrating because I can go to the Los Gatos, Willow Glen, or Castro Valley locations and consistently get a great coffee. It doesn't seem to matter what I order or whether it's something from the regular menu or a seasonal drink, the quality at this location just isn't there. What makes it even more frustrating is that this is the Philz location closest to my house, so I genuinely want to be able to enjoy it. I don't know if it's an issue with training, consistency, or something else, but I really hope management looks into it because something clearly isn't working. I was actually talking to a friend who used to love Philz as much as I do, and she said she doesn't enjoy it anymore either. Then we realized that whenever she gets Philz in the East Bay, it's noticeably better. I really hope this location can get back to the quality Philz is known for because I would love nothing more than to be able to regularly get good coffee from the location right by my house. I'm honestly sorry to have to leave such a negative review because I really do love Philz, but at this point, someone needs to say something. Then today was really the final straw. The coffee was so bad that neither of us could drink it, so I called the store and asked for a refund. I had just spent $15 on two cups of coffee that we were ultimately going to throw away, so I didn't think it was unreasonable to ask for a refund. Instead, I was only refunded for one of the two coffees and when I called back nobody answered.
