I'm a pizza lover, and this place is amazing, the pizza tastes great and it comes out pretty fast. Employees are also very professional.

My grandma has come to visit me from abroad, but doesn't speak any English, so her visit has been frustrating when it has come to communicating with other people, as there is a huge language barrier. Up until yesterday, no one had really made an effort to communicate with her, but instead use me as a translator, and while she is okay with that, she's felt stuck at not being able to do things on her own. However, we stopped by the Archer Rd. (Gainesville) Blaze yesterday (12/16) and Troy and Wheeler were absolutely AMAZING in helping her make her BYOP! I was so grateful at how hard they both tried to make her feel comfortable with the language barrier and even threw some Spanish words here and there! I was honestly so impressed and felt right at home. Their patience and kindness made us feel cared about, all while they had sincere smiles on their faces. My grandmother said it was the best tasting pizza she'd had in Gainesville so far and definitely enjoyed the ordering process. Kudos to both gentlemen for their out-of-this-world customer service and pizza making skills, and kudos to you for having such fantastic staff and fresh ingredients! read more

I got the Take Two option with half a pizza and 4 garlic knots, and I'm really glad I did! I'm never usually able to finish a whole pizza pie in one sitting and always end up taking leftovers home. Everything is right in front of you in an assembly line and then they cook it in an open faced oven so it comes out hot and fresh! They have a wide variety of sauces, cheeses, meats and veggies. You can mix and match and get as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. They also have signature pizzas and salads on their menu but, honestly, the build your own is the best and only like $8. We went to blaze around 6 pm on a Saturday evening and the place was packed! My husband and I ordered 2 pizza and loaded up with toppings. I got a white sauce base pizza with toppings and finished off with the balsamic glaze and my husband got a pesto based pizza finished off with ranch and balsamic glaze. They messed up Mine and added ranch on top too. I didn't mind too much so I didn't say anything. Overall the ingredients are fresh and for about $8 you can add all the toppings you want so to me, it's a good deal. Here is a terrible picture of the steam coming from my pizza lol. Tasted waaaaay better than the picture. I've only been to blaze a handful of times. Each time, the line is crazy but it moves so fast and I've always received my food in a timely matter, and served hot and fresh! I love that I can make a bomb vegan pizza too! I love the BYO pizza and it's all the same price. So of course, my boyfriend and I go all out with the toppings and then have a yummy leftover snack for later :) I definitely think it's worth the price. (Under $9 before tax) The only reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the line system is always crazy cramped and there is not enough room for how many people there are. Also, the 3 times we went, we got the same lady who asks what you want and she isn't very friendly with us. She seems agitated after we ask a question about the menu. Ughhhh... all the 5 star reviews, so I think hey! Sounds amazing! & order for the first time. Delivery was quick and efficient! However, upon opening my veggie pie that I specified NO mushrooms, add meatballs. I got a million mushrooms and zero meatballs. Extremely disappointed that people just can't, wont, or don't care to follow instructions. Why ask me if you're gonna do what you want anyway? Blaze is a BYO pizza place. That's Build Your Own *not* Bring Your Own... pro tip so you don't create an awkward faux pas walking in with your own pizza. You're welcome. Blaze is only the second BYO pizza I've ever had. The first being a place called Crush which was located right near where I worked in Boston. They claimed pizza in 90 seconds but between the line and the wait time, my hour lunch break would be almost over by the time I got the pizza back to my desk and it was just good, nothing special. Because of that experience I was highly skeptical about what Blaze would be like. Gainesville is a college town after all so I assumed Blaze had a double meaning alluding to other things people blaze. Luckily my skepticism was ill placed. Blaze is actually damn good pizza. As of this writing it is in my top three pizza restaurants in Gainesville. They do have delivery but I live outside the city proper, in the sticks, so there is no delivery for me of anything at all except the mail. I would guess, however, that Blaze is better experienced in the restaurant as opposed to delivery or take-out. It's located in a busy area in a trendy building. Not sure if it used to be a garage but it looks like one and it's really cool. It is loud, though, and my hearing is abysmal so when ordering I stay within the confines of the Signature Pizzas rather than the Build Your Own. The Signatures are completely customizable so it really is just the lazier version of BYO anyway. There usually is a line but it moves quickly. They ask your name and circle what you want on a piece of paper and then you move down the assembly line of goodness and tweak your order to your heart's content, adding and subtracting ingredients however you'd like. The service is efficient and friendly. For pizza that is made so quickly, Blaze is really quite good. Thin, nicely crisped crust. I've ordered many pizzas from here. My most recent being the Veg Out which included the seasonal addition of squash. To go with it I got a salad which also included the seasonal squash. Be sure to visit Blaze in November (how long is Fall in Florida?) because both were amazing. read more

What I ordered: Build your own pizza w/ pesto and spicy marinara mixed, mozzarella cheese, ovalini mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, fresh basil, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and oregano. Pros: The line moves fast! There are also a lot of toppings to choose from, love the variety. They also have finishing sauces that you can get on your pizza when it comes out of the oven. My two favorite are the pesto and balsamic glaze. The staff is also very friendly and will come around and ask you if you need anything while you are seated. There customer service skills are great! I also have to give them props for their drink specials, mainly their juices. They have great flavor and are low calorie, love that they include options other than soda. Cons: The dining inside is so loud, when it is busy you can barely hear yourself think, let alone try to have a conversation with anyone. I usually sit out side on their front patio or their enclosed side patio if it is raining or too hot. The dough does not get as crispy as MOD pizza (if you have ever tried them) might suggest asking for your pizza well done if you like a crispier crust. Tips: The hooked app will sometimes have a free pizza with purchase of a drink deal, or free drink/dessert with pizza purchase. Get the Blaze app, and get rewards for each pizza purchase. Would also not recommend this pizza to go or delivered. Always best to eat fresh! read more

Blaze is my favorite BYO pizza place in Gainesville. They usually have the best toppings, always fresh, good variety, and they do not skimp. Pro-tip: try mixing sauces (pesto & spicy marinara), get your favorite sauce topping added to your pizza when it comes out of the oven (balsamic glaze is my favorite), check the hooked app or GCM app for coupons. Came by for dinner and it was a quick and delicious. We got two custom pizzas and it was a nice crispy thin crust with unlimited toppings. I had spicy sauce, vegan cheese, meatball, chicken, and tons of veggies including zucchini, bell pepper, roasted red pepper, tomatoes, spinach, roasted garlic, and pineapples. The other pizza had traditional red sauce with mozzarella, pepperoni, chicken, spinach, mushrooms, and lots of pineapples. They were both delicious and disappeared quickly! I love the vegan cheese and would come back to blaze just for that! Custom pizzas are $7.95 each and are very generous size for one person and sufficient for two kids or two adults with a side. They also have salad options. I got a beet and goat cheese salad ($3.99) but didn't touch it yet because I was too full. Heard a lot about this chain and was doubtful but really enjoyed my experience. Best way to describe it would be a chipotle style build your own pizza. My love for Blaze continues! The pizza is consistently delicious! I always order the custom pizza with pesto on the crust and spicy red sauce everywhere else. Used to be amazing lately it's been getting worse and worse. Used to eat at Blaze a lot and loved their pizzas. They where the perfect middle ground between an artisanal pizza and a fast food pizza but lately the pizzas I have gotten have been getting worse and worse. First of all I'm not sure why but it seems like pizzas are being undercooked and what I am reciving is a soggy pizza that's not fully cooked all around. Definitely not a bad pizza. Quick, fast service. Customer service is adequate, nothing spectacular but the staff won't insult you or anything. Really clean, very busy, very modern. I like the idea of the build your own pizza and I believe this is most ordered item especially when it's unlimited toppings. It is a thin crust which is very different from normal pizza places which normally give you a normal crust. The idea of unlimited toppings seems like it makes the pizza a great deal but since the pizza itself is fairly smaller than your typical one due to the crust being less. You end up being not as full if you're used to larger pizzas; however, with that being said, I would happily trade having a better quality pizza over more of a mediocre pizza. The toppings themselves I enjoyed and of which I added quite a lot. The staff themselves are very determined to give you whatever you want and are in no rush to make you hurry up with your decision. The oven being right there in front of you is an added bonus to see the pizza cook. They overall theme, service, and taste of this place was definitely worth visiting. Will I want to come all the time and order a $9 pizza and not be full? Probably not, but once in a while it's worth it. read more

I walked in after a long drive expecting to eat a nice pizza and a good long pee. but after walking in I got quite a shock when I realized that there is no men's restroom. This also means that my son who also is a pizza lover can get exactly what he wants. They have a huge variety of toppings from meat to veggies. They also have house made pizza that come with preordered toppings. So whether you are a cheese only person or a more adventurous person everyone is satisfied here. The pizza dough is delicious and is cooked to the right crispiness in their fire oven. Toppings are fresh. Customer service is top notch. The dining area is clean, well stocked and has a great vibe.
