The pizzas at this restaurant are cooked by fire in the blazing hot oven and then sealed hot for safety. Every pizza is made in the open kitchen right infront of our eyes. All team members wore face masks and provided social distancing markers throughout the restaurant to help keep us safe. I ordered the custom made 11-inch pizza and the ingredients/toppings that were used are so fresh. This is the second time I am ordering pizza from this place. Last time, me and some of my friends ordered pizza through doordash. The order didn't arrive on time and we contacted the restaurant. This was a great stop on the way home from a SHANDS visit with my little and his mother. When we arrived we didnt know what to expect, but some garlic knots, a simple Caesar salad, and a large pizza for the three of us we had 1 piece left over. It was AWESOME......then why not 5 star's? Well in todays world we have to at least look at the safety measures...... The start of the order line goes into a corner and the people behind you are exactly that, right behind you as you work your way down the line and then they pile up into the dining area. If you like made to order thin crust, this place is great. I like to get creative with the flavors and ingredients on my pizza. Their selection of ingredients is wide enough to make some delicious pizzas. The ability to choose different crust is also helpful depending on your diet. It's also a good deal financially if you only eat half and save the other half for dinner. I find using a toaster over for the reheat to be quick and easy. Downside: only one location in Gainesville Fl and with the college students, it can get crazy busy so if the line is out the door...maybe try a different time of day. read more

I try to give the benefit of the doubt whenever possible, especially when it comes to the customer service industry. But the behavior I just encountered was inexcusable. I made a very simple order of two cheese pizzas and two drinks on a delivery app. Shortly after Blaze let me know they were getting my order ready, they cancelled my order. I called the store to ask if I could order over the phone instead, but I was rudely told by a female employee that "it's too busy-- we don't do that on the weekends." I've worked in busy restaurants before and I would not even consider saying that to a customer, no matter how busy it is. I understand high volume situations and having longer wait times. That I can handle. But refusing to take a simple order is not a great way to keep customers. The food is great here, it's very unfortunate that the staff is not properly trained in basic customer service skills. I will be ordering from a mom and pop pizza shop from now on. read more

Me and my family visited my hometown Gainesville yesterday after pool party for my daughter's birthday . The service was fantastic from ordering to checkout . The staff was so friendly and suggested pizzas and cares about what we liked . The young lady who made my pizza even put extra on my pizza without me asking and extra dressing in my salad no problem at all . Our server Trey was so sweet and brought us paper plates to share pizzas while mine was still cooking. Trey was amazing , great customer service , he brought all of us delicious s'more's cookies & marked them with sharpie stars because of my wait so long for my pizza . he told us we were stars he put a great effort to make us feel important and values customers . Blaze is one of these build your own pizza that are popping up everywhere. Kramer must be ready to sue. You walk up chose either a pre made pie or just build from scratch. Even if you pick a pre made you can customize it how ever you want. They walk you down the line, cheese sause type , toppings. It's unlimited they throw it into the wood fired oven and you can add a sause at the end like pesto etc. I found the wood added just an edge to the other build your own pizza places. Crust was thin but flavorful. Stand out was the garlic knots. I think they call them " dough nuts". Outstanding in the rain. Soft garlicky with a kiss of pesto. I'd go here just for these killers. Wow. I'm so impressed. I didn't except the pizza to be THAT good! Very cool and efficient process. I'd call it the Chipotle for pizza. It was busy when I was there and the process appeared to be a bit overwhelming at first, but was actually very quick and seamless. When I arrived there was a long line, but the wait was very short. One thing I loved was the fact that you could build your own pizza and add as many toppings as you pleased with no additional charge. I was concerned that this level of affordability would lead to a lower quality of ingredients, but I was wrong. Definitely one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Blaze is always a fast, dependable pizza place located on a busy street in Gainesville. Similar to the customizable style of Subway and Chipotle, customers get to build their own pizza and load it with sauces, meats, cheeses, vegetables, etc. Most of their pizzas are made of thin crusts, which personally isn't my favorite. If you get a lot of toppings, the pizza falls apart, making it super messy to eat. If you have a large appetite, a pizza may not be completely filling. Since the pizzas are customizable, I am very impressed with the range of topping choices that Blaze offers. Just with sauces, they have a regular red sauce, spicy red, white sauce, and pesto. Their cheeses range from mozzarella, parmesan, ovalini, etc. My favorite toppings include the basil leaves, pineapple (yes, it belongs on pizza), and spicy red sauce. I would also recommend a mix of the regular and spicy red sauce for the perfect medium spice level! If you're really selective about toppings, sometimes the workers grab the toppings so quickly that it falls in neighboring containers, so be wary of that! After you customize your pizza, the workers put it in the fire oven, and it is ready within minutes. As the worker cuts your pizza, you can ask for additional sauces on the side or drizzled on the pizza. I see a lot of people ordering the pesto drizzle, but that is too oily for me. Instead, I enjoy dipping my pizza in buffalo sauce! If you are dining in, Blaze is similar to a fast food joint; there are no waiters, and you serve yourself. They have several shakers of parmesan, pepper flakes, oregano, tobasco, and sriracha that you can grab yourself. However, they have a worker that goes around and makes sure that everyone is satisfied! They also encourage you to download the Blaze app, which has free drink and bogo offers occasionally. For $8.25, I think Blaze is definitely worth it, but if you have a large appetite, maybe choose somewhere else! read more

I was so impressed with Blaze. When I ordered the gluten free pizza, they immediately asked if it was for an allergy or preference. When I said allergy, they went through all the works of making sure my pizza was perfect and free of cross contamination. They assigned one server to make my pizza rather than passing it down the line. He made sure to change his gloves and was very careful when making it. The pizza was very good! I was impressed with the crust and my boyfriend even said that the gluten free crust was just as good as the normal crust. We will definitely be back! read more

And, definitely taking market share from typical fast-food joints, by offering slightly healthier options for fast dining. Customers at least have the option for healthy dining, for a little more money, and also improved quality ingredients. At Blaze, you can pick a base pizza from pre-existing options, or create an entire pie from scratch. The crust base is machine pressed, but very delicious. Paper thin, and with an excellent char on the underside for more flavor. Pizza toppings are unlimited and complimentary--- they do not charge extra per topping. So, you can make the pizza with whatever you are craving that day and there are many options to choose from. The staff is painfully nice and energetic; it makes me tired just watching them move so quickly. You can also add more toppings if you feel you are being skimped, I will usually ask for extra cheese. Offered toppings are many different kinds of meats and healthy vegetables, as well as grilled onions as a topping. Also, different base sauces added or no sauce at all, if that's your thing. The pizzas are cooked in a fire oven and take about three minutes to cook. Since the cooking time is short, many of the vegetables and other ingredients are able to retain their nutrients. You can also ask for a finishing sauce on the pizza, I always go for a swirl of pesto because a little olive oil never hurt anyone. Just make sure to keep an eye on your pie and make sure that the sauce is added, I had to take mine back because it was missing pesto. The pizzas are under $10, even for something really fancy with like 10 toppings of your choice. Their salads are also no joke, delicious and packed full of flavor. The house balsamic salad dressing is to die for. I just wish that these salads were served in a large bowl as a meal, instead of in plastic to-go containers. The packaging really takes away from the awesomeness of the product within. Blaze's seating area is very indoor-outdoor inspired with large windows and about half the seating being on the front porch of the side area by the entrance. It's my personal opinion that Blaze is the best kept-secret fast casual place in town. It's quick, it's delicious, and it doesn't break the bank. We stopped at Blaze last night for a quick dinner to go. My husband got a whole pizza, but my personal favorite is to do the take two. You can either get a half a salad (which is giant by the way) or a half of cheesy bread (I always go for the pesto cheesy bread) or a half a pizza. I usually do the bread and a build your own pizza. It's plenty of food and always how I want it - so good. Pro tip: add the garlic sauce and the cream sauce together as your base. We usually get a drink, but didn't this time; their lemonades are incredible though. With my take two and my husband's whole pizza, we only spent about $23.
