I came back and got a grain bowl this time and for $11.15 it's such a great deal. I tried the strawberry citrus drink and it was amazing. While there I loaded up 3-4 times. This place is such a great spot to get a healthy and light meal. Wouldn't be surprised this is my new favorite place for a quick meal.

Great lunch spot walking distance from UF's campus. I created my own bowl & really enjoyed it. There were tables outside and it was lovely. The lunchtime staff were nice & helpful. As other reviews mentioned, it's similar to a chipotle in ordering/style - but with a fresh, Mediterranean twist! We went again for dinner, and the staff was not as helpful or welcoming, and the interior seating area was a mess. It wasn't busy when we walked in, but it could have just been a rough night. There is also no parking, which makes it tough to get to. I recommend either walking or trying your luck with the paid parallel spots near the AC hotel. Overall, I would return again for lunch if I am within walking distance or visiting campus!

I got the chicken bowl and the blueberry lavender drink and both was delicious! It does get busy and lines are long and be on the pricier side but worth it!

Fast, easy, healthy and good! Located right on Archer Rd in front of Butler Plaza it's the perfect place to stop for a quick meal while battling the UF move-in crowds at Target and Trader joes. The concept is fast, casual dining, where you can customize a bowl or a pita sandwich. Start by choosing a base, either greens, grains, pita or rice, then add a protein, grilled chicken, steak, falafel, or roasted vegetables. Then you can customize your meal with different toppings, hummus, tzatziki, harissa, feta, or a vegetable dip, next in line you choose toppings such as roasted corn, tomatoes, pickles, feta, cabbage and top everything with a Mediterranean style dressing. As you move through the line, everything is labeled so it's so easy.

This is my first time I tried cava and I'm so in love .... 3days down and may be an addiction atp. The staff is so nice and comical. Even with one person at one point working in front she was killing it

Solid place for healthy and tasty food. I was in town and decided to give this place a try. Service was quick and efficient. It's like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Love the laid back atmosphere and the plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. The food itself was tasty. Loved the variety of pickles, hummus, and various proteins and grains that you can add to your bowls. The only thing is that portion sizes are smaller than Chipotle and it is more expensive than Chipotle. However, if once in a while you want something different and healthy, keep this place as an option :)

I was excited to try Cava and stopped by last night after soccer. The restaurant was mostly empty but they seem to do a lot of business also in take-away orders and the staff were preparing those. The space is spartan but clean, modern, and inviting. The staff are friendly and good at explaining things as it's a make-your-own bowl kind of deal, though they have pre-designed options to select, as well. As to the food, I got the date chicken bowl and it was okay. The chicken tasted a bit dry though and some of the other flavors/ingredients also a bit off or odd. But it was ok overall, just lacking all little maybe in freshness--which happens when things sit out a bit waiting to be put into someone's supper. The real winners though are the house-made lemonades: crisp, tasty, and refreshing. They have done a stellar job there. Would I go back? If in the area or friends wanted to go. It's not the level of care and tastiness as in example Gyro Plus (which is more authentic as well) but will do and is overall pretty healthy which I wholeheartedly endorse.

Great place for a quick lunch. I had a Greek salad and asked them to sprinkle some lintels and add a scoop of eggplant dip. Really didn't need a dressing with this but I really like the tahini dressing. My husband has the harissa chicken salad. That was great too. The chicken has just a kick of spice at the end. Don't miss out on getting the specialty drinks. The cucumber mint is yummy and the blueberry is very refreshing.

My build your own bowl

So I love healthy fast food and especially Mediterranean style food. I had heard of Cava from friends and other Yelpers on how great the food is. Let me tell you the recommendations were not wrong! When walking in, it's set up like a typical cafeteria line service like Chipotle. They have an extensive selection and alot of different combinations to pick from. From pitas to grain bowls to salad bowls - there's something for everyone. I picked the build your own bowl option. My bowl consisted of my base of supergreens and arugula. My dips were tzatziki, roasted eggplant, and crazy feta. I went with a protein of grilled chicken, and chose an array of toppings. To finish it off, I chose the Greek vinaigrette dressing on the side. The ingredients are super fresh - which I love - the salad wasn't browning or wilted. I love that you are able to add such a variety of toppings and dips because it gives you a chance to try out different veggies. The only downside I had at Cava was the service. Some of the staff members were very slow and the wait time to order did take some time. Also, it seems like the team members are newer or maybe not as educated on what goes into their meals. I overheard someone asking if one of the dressings were vegan and the cashier and team member didn't know. Fortunately, the shift manager was able to pull out a booklet to inform the guest of the dressing ingredients. However, this delicious and affordable spot made a great impression on my taste buds -- I will be back soon!

Still a fairly good priced option for a healthier bowl in Gainesville. Bowls always seem to run around $12-$15, and this is no exception. Chipotle style service and I had a much quicker turnaround time on my second visit. I still recommend giving it a try, I have friends who are addicted and get it once a week, and some who don't care too much for it

Greek salad (so hearty!)

Oh my goodness--love this spot! On a recent trip to Gainesville, I wanted a quick takeout dinner and Cava really delivered. I ordered their greek salad which is outta this world. It's way more than a bowl of greens. Packed with kalamatas, tomatoes, veggies, feta, and drizzled with dressing--this salad is bursting with flavor and hearty enough for dinner. All of the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The salad was beautifully made and the takeout packaging allowed my meal to get to my hotel without incident. I can't wait to visit again on another trip to Gainesville! Get to it!

My friend and I met after we parked our bikes. She was sitting outside, and as I was locking my bike, less than a block away, she texted me. I just walked to her without responding, and with a smile and a hug, we walked in to look at the menu. The sandwiches have some very creative names that go along with their creative construction. I got a #10, which was a fusion of French dip and Philly cheese!! I wanna buy the person a beer, whoever thought of that one! Even though it was busy, we didn't wait long to order. Every sandwich comes in a paper bag, so you can take it out or stay and munch. We got a combo with chips and a drink, because how else do you eat a big sandwich like this?! There are board games to play, decor that is not typical and a big display of Guy Fieri, from the Food Network, that lets you know this place is on America's culinary map. After the sandwiches were done, I brought them out to my friend Kimberly, who was saving our table. We both were hungry, so out of the wrap and in with the teeth. Mine was full of flavor and the fact that all the sandwiches are heat-pressed, made the texture very satisfying. The au jus was thick and delicious and made me think someone took great time and effort to make it. It is a casual restaurant, great for a date or a group of friends, or a solo quick lunch, that can also be a dinner as well. The food is somewhat pricey, but it delivers as a good meal with a creative touch. They could have emptied the garbage can more quickly, as it was more than overflowing, when I went to throw the garbage away. Memorable food, and makes me want to come back to try at least two other sandwiches that I read about.

Sounds pricey but my wife and I spit it and still had some leftovers. Also, this might seem a bit off topic but this place has some of the best fries. Great seasoning. Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.

Order at the counter, get a number and then they will bring food out to you. Self serve water is available inside. We were there a busy day. Wait to order wasn't too bad and we found a table outside, but nobody was bussing any tables so basically customers sitting down were left clearing the dishes from the table of the people before them & wiping down the table. Nobody from the restaurant came out to help or apologize and it wasn't until dishes were almost toppling out of the bin that anyone took them away. Menu is pretty diverse - you can get some traditional items or more eclectic. We ordered the green goddess salad, croque mademoiselle (ham & cheese sandwich) on gluten free bread & okonomiyaki (japanese pancakes with cloud eggs). It took probably 30 min to get our food. The food presentation is really lovely & feels special when it's delivered. However, taste left something to be desired. The Japanese pancakes weren't good. The egg specifically looked really pretty all puffed up, but was so bad none of us were willing to have more than one bite. There were some other funky flavors going on there as well that detracted from enjoying it. The ham & cheese sandwich was okay, but the cheese is put on the outside, including a runny cheese, so it's a total mess to try and eat. Definitely do not order this one on a date! We ended up just eating the inside portion. It does come with a small green goddess type salad, which is nice. The entree green goddess appeared great when delivered. Loved the light, fresh dressing and ingredients. However, lots of the lettuce had sort of rotting tips, which made me worried to eat it especially since this isn't the cleanest place. Despite appreciating the quirkiness of the restaurant and the selection of fresh options they offer, we won't be returning.

My regular bowl was overflowing with noodles and roasted broccoli. Both good I got teriyaki chicken as my protein, it was just ok, the base and veggies made the dish. The toppings and sauce completed the bowl. It was good. My wife got the roasted chicken thigh (bone in). That was delicious. Surprisingly good. Service was outstanding, they have a great crew here.
