Biscuits and gravy are pretty solid, I like the hot sausage in my gravy usually but this was good. Nettles sausage is awesome make sure to order that as well, it's made locally. I stopped at Bev's Burger Cafe when coming home to Orlando from a business trip from Mississippi and I have to say that this establishment was a welcome stop for a somewhat late dinner. The ambiance is typical small town restaurant, nothing fancy. The servers were friendly and kept the vibe going in the place, joking with each other and the customers. Since burgers is in the literal name of the business, I went with a burger. I went with a chili burger and tater tots. The chili burger honestly was not a good choice. The chili was obviously from a can and the tater tots were from a frozen bag. The burger under that terrible canned chili was pretty good. I definitely ordered the wrong item. If I end up here again, I would try the patty melt. There are not a lot of options in this town, so I will give this place a total of four stars. read more

I love Bev's and always have. It's a local treasure, BUT earlier this week my parents and nephew stopped in for lunch and my mother asked for mayo for her burger, to which the employee replied "It's on the table.". No biggie, right? Wrong. Mayo is basically just oil and raw egg. That little "refridgerate after open" suggestion is placed there for a reason. You can't leave opend mayonnaise out on the table. Now, my mom had been all over the place and doing all the things that day and is also a long time customer of theirs, so she didn't think twice about it even though she knows better. She worked in food service a great deal of her life and is a mom of four, so she knows all about the do's and don't's of food safety but she just didn't think. I could argue that at a regularly visited and highly esteemed restaurant, one shouldn't have to have their guard up about avoiding Osmosis Jones the sequel taking place in their body over tge next few days, but I digress. Either way, moral of the story is that my mother ate there a few days ago, consumed some room temp mayo and is now VIOLENTLY ill. She, at the very least, has food poisoning... she's going to the doctor to make sure it's not freaking salmonella. Again, I LOVE Bev's.. but keep your guard up with the mayo. read more

The cafe is an extension of the Bev's drive thru so all the same great burgers if you want to sit down and take your time. Lots of homestyle dinner choices such as fried chicken, fish, BBQ pork, Liver and onions, etc. The turkey melt on marble rye toast is awesome. And, breakfast served all the time. read more

SO GOOD!!! We accidentally came in close to closing after seeing on maps that they were open until 7:30pm but it turned out they were closing at 3pm. Despite the fact that we went in so close to closing (within the half hour...I'm so sorry) the service was phenomenal, food was so quick to come out (fresh and hot, at that!), and our waitress was extremely nice and took care of us so well. It was so nice and calm inside and the food was GAS!!! If you're around here looking for some good american breakfast and lunch food, I HIGHLY recommend eating here :) The price (which is also really good) is worth the experience, service, and food quality. read more

I love Bev's. It's worth the drive to High Springs from Newberry/ Jonesville for us because we know we will get great food consistently. I'm so excited to have our own Bev's in 2024 too! My favorite lunch item is the wing plate. I opt for naked wings in honey garlic with coleslaw and curly fries. They are always crispy, perfectly tossed, and amazing flavor (like hot honey with a little garlic in background). The breakfast is also super. I get eggs, hash browns, and bacon. So many people visit if they're in town at the Springs but this is very much a local spot with reasonable prices and great diner-style food. Check them out! read more

We have been intending to visit Bevs since we moved to the country. There is always a line at the drive thru next door and the parking lot at the restaurant is always full. Finally got there at 3:00 on Wednesday. Friendly service, great burgers definitely cooked to order. Fresh lettuce, tomato, onion. Great fries. Nestled on a quiet commuting road in High Springs, Bev's housed the most humans that I had seen within 4 miles so I knew it was the place to be!  We initially opted to sit outside to enjoy our meals under the sun and shade... but the bugs had a different idea and we ended up relocating inside.  The change in seating didn't stop us from ordering as the brightly colored menu offered up tons of delicious options that were calling my name.  We started with a delicious order of piping-hot Corn Nuggets that have grown into a personal favorite, and Bev's did them justice!  When it came to my meal, I was tempted to drift, but decided to stick with the item that seemed to be their specialty; burgers!  My friend went for the Bacon Egg Cheeseburger w/Fries, and I went for the Chili Cheeseburger w/Onion Rings and an order of Fried Okra for us both. Before I could even get a bite into my burger, my Fried Okra was just a memory.  I absolutely LOVE fried okra and Bev's prepared their Okra with a crunchy, well-seasoned breading that made the Okra out of this world!  After scarfing down my Okra, I moved onto my burger.  Fresh, hot and delicious, the Chili was the perfect touch, although I was a bit turned off due to the red onion being placed on the burger in huge rings, but still yummy.  I was so full, I barely got to enjoy my Onion Rings because I was so full but they were crispy and so delicious. Along with the food being great, we didn't have to wait long for our fresh food and the customer service was awesome.  Our waitress was so kind and understanding, she truly made sure we felt the Southern hospitality as we waited for our food.  A quaint, hometown spot, this should definitely be a stop for any who are heading through High Springs, Florida! read more

I was going between Gainesville and Lake City on an errand, and I do not use the interstate, so I happened to see this off to the side of 441. It was crowded on the way to Lake City and crowded on the way back. It's basic burgers and sandwiches and soup of the day. Also fried things like fries, sweet potato fries, and fried shrimp. Husband got a bacon and egg burger. It was an over easy egg, wide thick crispy bacon, and had shredded lettuce and tomato. Lettuce was shredded like for a coleslaw, but it was not coleslaw. There are no condiments in the burger, and instead you can add condiments from the basket on the table. Or, if you eat in the outdoor part, probably before the food gets there, go grab you a basket off an unbussed table or from inside. I got soup of the day which was loaded potato soup and basically was a white soup with chunks of potato and some bacon. Child got fried shrimp. Basically I would say all the fried food and the burger were awesome, and most of the menu is fried food and burgers, so the food is likely to be good. It has one bathroom which is inside and was clean and with no wait. I had been here a few years ago, and since COVID they have added a screened porch for some outdoor seating, which is where I sat. You have to go inside to use the bathroom, wash hands, and let them know you are there so the table service will come out and take the order. Beyond that, you can eat all outdoors. read more

This drive through at 27 and 41 is a "must visit." I like to eat at a picnic table outside because it's a classic BUT you're sitting between cars ordering food and picking up food so there's a lot of bad air. The burgers are absolutely delicious and the French fries are the best I've had. Going back soon to try the fried okra. Oh ... homemade milkshakes, too. If you are looking for a quick and decent meal in High Springs that won't break the bank then look no further. Bev's Cafe is a winner. I ordered a BBQ sloppy with a side of sweet potato fries. The BBQ was a mix of beef, pork, and different cuts. It was really tasty. The sweet potato fries were crispy and hot. Nothing really stood out to rate it higher. Look at the pic of my plate. It looks lackluster. For a sandwich with a name of big sloppy it needs more than what you see in the picture. Bev's is a favorite stop on our way to and/or from the springs. It's one of those quintessential Mom and pop burger stops that's more about the experience than the food and the staff ooze southern sweet hospitality. Sitting on a picnic table nestled along the side of the highway eating smaller simple burgers, I feel transported to old-Florida circa 1970's. My favorite items on the menu are the corn nuggets and fried okra, which usually disappear before I remember to snap a pic. The corn nuggets remind me of great grandma's corn bread batter; a box of jiffy mix, a can of corn, and a can of creamed corn mixed together and dropped in the fryer.... sweet little balls of golden fried deliciousness! read more

Loved the place before covid, but we are elderly and are careful with covid and there are absolutely no precautions taken at this place to keep vulnerable customers safe. Customers obviously have masks off to eat, but there is just no excuse for all servers and preparers being maskless, breathing over your table and your food. When covid is gone, I will be back. We have been eating here for 8 years, since moving here. The food is fresh and good. The burgers and breakfast are both enjoyable, and the fish is very good. It usually gets crowded and we are glad that this business is still open! Our favorite server is Ashley, who provides excellent service with charm. Also one weekend we had Robin, and she was great, too. We also like the drive through, but often don't go there due to the very long lines. Wish the owner would use remote ordering and have both windows for pick up! If we have time, we will get in the long long line, but often our time is limited so we can't wait. read more

Took a while to get through the drive through (this is a popular place!). It's just a good ol, no frills, greasy pan fried burger. Have to eat it fast or it will get soggy! My girlfriend and I visited Gilchrist Blue Springs park from Gainesville and were looking to eat somewhere local. Our coworkers recommended Great Outdoors but we viisted on a Monday and they were closed. I asked the park ranger for a recommendation and he recommended Bev's Burger Cafe. (Just a note: Bev's Burger Cafe is literally a one minute drive up the street from Bev's Better Burgers. From what I can tell there's no relation and it is confusing. Be sure which one you are visiting!) He was definitely right! It's a quaint cozy place with country decorations and Andy Griffith reruns on TV. It's nothing fancy, just very good food. The sweet tea was perfect and my girlfriend's cheeseburger was huge and tasty. I got the sirloin which was good but not seasoned. The fried broccoli and cheese bites appetizer are worth coming for alone. There were around 15 pieces in a single order and I could see myself just eating two orders of that for my whole meal. read more
