Turkey burger and fried okra
Natalie A.

Wow. Shocked by how delicious this place was. I wouldn't call it fast food, the drive-thru certainly took a long time. But you could tell how good this place is by the fact that there was a line down the street at 3pm on a Sunday. I got the turkey burger, and before you say "fake burger!", let me tell you it was the best turkey burger I've ever had. And to me, it was better than the regular beef burger (which was still good). The fried accompaniments, okra and onion rings, were of course delicious as well. We'll have to go back and try their chicken sandwiches and milk shakes next time!

This is a must stop whenever I'm passing by Gainesville! Bev's has three locations and all of them are consistently good. We always order cheeseburgers, fries, corn nuggets, sweet tea and milkshakes. You really can't beat the price. A burger is a seemingly simple food and yet so many places mess it up! Bev's offers a classic burger that always hits the spot. I've been coming here for years and it's always a stop that my family and I look forward to!

The BEST burger I've had in the area!!!!! I enjoyed the casual atmosphere by being able to order in my car, wait for it to be cooked and picking up on other side! It took about 15 minutes from start to finish. There is seating in front and a nice size parking lot if you desire to park and eat. Tip jars are placed on both sides for convenience Their strawberry shake was so delicious along with the fried okra and corn nuggets! Cannot wait to come back to this family owned restaurant - worth the trip

Best burger in Alachua County - by far! Been eating here as long as I can remember - even back when it was called the Big "O" (pre-Bev's). Burgers never disappoint. Don't come looking for ketchup, mustard and pickles to be on this burger... All the way is Lettuce, Onion, Tomato and Mayo. You can request those other condiments - but why would you? You can't change perfection! It's not fast food as you will wait as everything is cooked to order. But believe me, it's worth it!

What a fantastic experience, you have the option of drive thru or park and order at a walk up window. Bevs keeps the traditional burger joint experience and I appreciate that so much. The burgers are very typical to a "smash burger" which is our family's favorite kind of burger. The meat was fresh, flavor was on point, the grilled cheese is made with a bun and cheese, exactly what you would expect and hit the spot perfectly. Their fried okra is flavorful and has the right amount of crispiness. Their french fries were salted perfectly. Sweet potato fries amazing. Milkshakes are old fashioned, again go along with the old burger joints! The prices are more than fair. The kids menu came with entree, fries, small drink, and a lollipop. There was ample seating at covered picnic tables in the front.

soft serve ice cream

The food was outstanding didn't take long to get the food considering it was made fresh the guy that took our order we walked up was very efficient and gave us exactly what we needed. I would definitely go back there again also I had a cup of soft serve ice cream after I was done eating with whipped cream on top. I am not really a soft serve ice cream person but it was amazing. This is definitely a place you need to go to if you're alachua

I went here two different occasions breakfast and lunch and let me just say the burgers and the breakfast sandwiches are great the fries was mid but it's okay the sandwiches make up for it :) I think this place is my new favorite! Quick service when there's no line :)

Bevs was crazy good. Real home made taste. Juicy burgers and greasy thick sides like hearty fries and onion rings, corn nuggets and fried okra. Everything was amazing and its worth the drive out of gainesville

I swear I think these okra were freshly picked, seasoned and fried fresh for me! Hands-down the best I've ever had - just SUBLIME!

What a total hidden gem this place is! It's about a mile off the highway and a very unassuming - dual drive-through window building... This place is amazing - togo, it only has outdoor seating in a potentially questionable area which is located next to Main St., Alachua but still with only outdoor seating I recommend a quick pitstop... I have so much more to write but I have to continue driving home and this place is certainly one of my favorite spots right off the highway on the way to South Florida! Take a look at the pictures I took in the descriptions that should be enough to make you want to take a trip for yourself

Burger and sweet potato fries

I have lived in alachua for 3 years and been in the state of Florida for 8 years and it's my first time trying this spot. It was a treat. So yummy! The burger was fantastic. The order was quick. The sweet potato fries were good but I literally only got 7 so ordered a large fry for me and my husband to share. Next time will try the mushrooms! My husband got onion rings as his side and those were yummy too!

No burger in Alachua County is worth a 40 min wait in the drive thru. And that's with only two cars ahead of me. Won't be back.

Don't get the buzz over this place. They are burgers on buns. Nothing bad but nothing spectacular about them.

Parking is a challenge, but we parked elsewhere and walked over there. The smell of the delicious burgers had me drooling! Got the double patty with cheese Goldie burger and onion rings and my husband got the same with loaded tater tots. Sprite and water in a bottle for drinks...and we were all set. Our order came out pretty quickly and we enjoyed watching the kids run around excitedly and play the various games, whether it was skee ball, pinball, driving courses, riding the motorized animals...kids enjoy the most basic things to the maximum! Great idea for families! Nice park frontage, walking paths, etc. I'm going to have to tell my daughter in law to bring the kids here next time. They'd LOVE IT! The Goldie Burger was fantastic. They do have vegan options as well, so don't fret! Tots, fries and onion rings are excellent sides for your sandwich. The fella at the front counter was beyond pleasant, helpful, friendly and very attentive to every patron. Even went so far as to give extra free tokens to one family with 3 little ones since they spent so much there on their meals. I gave out free tokens to a lithe younger girl who was wearing what used to be my favorite sneakers growing up...Converse All-Stars! She had her mouth hanging open for a few minutes while mom said thank you for her...hey, old people don't place much arcade games I told them.... So enjoy! Great family spot with the kids to run off that excess energy and have fun. We enjoyed the food and the scenery.

We sat outside which was nice to enjoy the weather.

I'd read the reviews and they were supposed to have the coldest beer in Florida and the best burgers. What's not to like about that? When we walked in, it was as advertised, a nice little biker bar with pool tables and they do in fact have very good burgers and cold beer. We had great service, great food, great prices, and actually stayed there much longer than we planned. If we ever have to come back through this way and stay, I will definitely go back there for another great Cajun burger, and a couple of cold beers..

It was a decent burger and much bigger than I expected. My friend got the club sandwich and it looked impressive as well. We ended up shooting pool and chatting with some of the regulars and left in the wee hours of the morning. Melanie was hustling all night as the bartender and the cook. She was on top of it all night. We were in town to scuba dive and are on to our next destination, otherwise we would have returned. Great little dive bar. Friendly staff and locals. Decent bar food.

I went on a group ride with some folks that like to go out to breakfast on Mondays, and they had…read morechosen Farmhouse 1906 this time around. Entering it kind of reminds you of a farmhouse, I guess. Pretty standard furnishings and decoration for a country diner sort of place. Of course, we were there for breakfast, so the standard diner breakfast was on the menu. The full menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, and a couple of barbecue dishes. If there were more screens mounted on the walls I would call it a sportsbar, but that isn't the case. Our orders were taken, and I had gone for eggs, hashbrowns, and corned beef because it was St Patty's Day. Realistically one of the few times that I have legitimately had food that was appropriate for the holiday. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time for a group of ten, so the kitchen and staff knew what they were doing. The food was fine... nothing to really shout out about, but also not bad. It was what I expected it to be, and that was good enough.

1906 Farmhouse 25405 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669…read more ***SWILL ALERT*** Pulling up to the hitchin' post at the 1906 Farmhouse, all seemed well and fine. I don't mind themed restaurants (they can be fun). This place was designed to model the Farmhouse where the ranch hands gathered for meals before and after a long day of riding. I dug it. It gave off a warm, welcoming, one-of-the-family vibe. Kasey was my server for the meal and she was frowning before I asked one question. I placed an order for one Country Fried Steak with sides of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese, along with some Strawberry Shortcake to round out the meal. I soon saw Cantankerous Kasey begrudgingly returning with my victuals. I don't understand this attitude. Am I supposed to be grateful she deigned to work here? Anyway, if any of you are curious like me, you may have often wondered what it was like to spend a day in jail. To that end, I admit, I got myself hauled off to the County Hoosegow. Wanting to make the most out of my tax dollars, I booked my stay to include lunch. The dry bologna sandwich you receive, along with the juice bag to wash it down, is something you try to forget. As I looked at the slop my trustee, Kasey, placed before me, I began to long for the county jail government issue bologna. The Country Fried Steak was fresh from the freezer and cooked with the precision of Stevie Wonder passing his behind-the-wheel driving test. I've been hit with hockey pucks softer than this garbage. The gravy was made in the Sysco factory and this had to be their bottom-grade slush. It was as tasty as flour and water. Wait. The sides were a step down from the entree, if that is possible. Just look at the pictures and tell me, does anything look appetizing? While I am not one to ever judge a book by its cover, as looks can be deceiving. In this case, they are not, and the adage 'a picture speaks a thousand words' is spot on. The Collard Greens were obviously from an industrial can. Hey, don't get me wrong, all restaurants use a food service, but you don't have to be cheap about it and try to finagle the dining population by using the lowest quality they have to offer. The Mac & Cheese looked more like something a dog regurgitated than actual food. It was dry and pasty on the palate--just the way it is not supposed to be. The Strawberry Shortcake is also food service, not unlike the stuff you got in high school, only worse. Kudos, 1906 Farmhouse, you officially serve Swill sans the fly. At least on this visit. The Big Boy says, "I wouldn't serve this SWILL to a dead dog."
