This drive-through and window pickup restaurant in Gainesville is a popular burger joint in the college town. They only have outdoor seating. I had the Impossible Burger $10.64 but they also offer a veggie vegan option. Also sweet potato tots $3.92. Everything was delicious. Seems like a small burger and could have a better bun and add tomato. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Dick Mondell's is a great place to get burgers! Though their burgers are great, my favorite item on the menu is their sweet potato tots! FYI: Their cash register does not allow for 'swiping' cards - only inserting or tap. For anyone that comes with a gift card - just be aware of that!

My friends and I came here for dinner after the first home game and LOVED our meals! Dick's is a drive-thru type of eatery where you order at a window. There is no indoor seating, only outdoor. The menu is super simple and classic. The prices are unbeatable! The service is pretty quick and they are really on top of things. I ordered the "original big dick" which included two 4oz beef patties, lettuce, pickles, onions, and their famous Dick's sauce. I added American cheese to mine as well. Along with my burger, I ordered a small fries and side salad. The burger was served right from the griddle and was so basic and yet so good. It wasn't overdone with the toppings, etc. The simplicity of it is what made it so memorable. The sauce isn't extremely overpowering either and is the perfect burger sauce. The patties are similar to a smash burger and the melted cheese on them was heavenly. The bun was buttery too. The fries were really good and fresh as well. A little salty, but still good. I enjoyed my side salad, it was good, not great. All in all, our experience at Dick Mondell's was amazing. The environment is super chill and gives retro vibes. The burgers are so good! They're juicy and full of so many good flavors. The price alone is a reason to eat here considering how filling our meals were. It is the perfect way to spend a night after a long day of tailgating! This will for sure become our go to burger place in Gainesville!

Dick Mondell's has delicious "fast food," but that tastes so much fresher. It's also great to be able to support local and still get a delicious burger! I really like their impossible burger and the sauce is amazing. It is a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality you get. I'm not a big burger person typically, but when I get the craving I'll always choose this one! The outdoor seating is nice and the service is good, sometimes a bit slow though. I like that they have both a drive through and a walk up option and it's a very cute little place!

Well Dicks was recommended to us from a friend, had never heard of it, so i looked them up, was curious so we decided to try them out.. drive there is not too bad , students are back in town so expect a lot of foot traffic there, there was only one car ahead of us, but quite a few at the walk-up window. Prices are reasonable for a burger spot. The girl was friendly who took my order, the order came up pretty quickly. We got home and the food was still hot, the chicken sandwhich was good, little overcooked, but still tasty. The tots were sweet and fresh, the burger my wife ate was good as well, have had better , but it is a unique spot which gets all its food from local farms, so by buying from them your also supporting local farmers, businesses. The only downfall is the seating there is outside, and is limited, so its more of a grab and go locale..

Enjoyed a visit here during Fest weekend recently! Love that they have a variety of options, including those for vegans/vegetarians. My husband got the classic burger and I ordered the Impossible burger; we shared a large order of fries. Despite how busy they were, the service and quality were great. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in Gainesville!

Some of the best burgers in town. High quality, fast and hot. Staff is always nice. Prices are actually affordable. There is a drive thru but also a few outdoor seats.

Our first time visiting Dick Mondell's in Gainesville. We ordered 3 Classic burgers that we loved with a side a fries & a soft drink. The spot is outdoor eating or drive through for take out. As always we always search for places that are most reviewed and just simply aim to stay away from chain owned restaurants. I asked for their sauce on the side for all three burgers, and mayo & ketchup for the fries. The food came out in a brown paper bag and I must say after waiting for about 10 minutes and not having our drinks yet we felt a little odd as in any place drinks are for the most part the first thing that is served. After asking for our drinks and opening the brown bag, we noticed there was only one side cup of their sauce and only two napkins. When my daughter walked to the window to ask for a few more napkins and two sauce side cups I couldn't help but notice the staff was not too friendly. Customer service brings people back and sustains a business. All it takes is a friendly smile and a willingness to help others. Now you may be asking how was the burger? The burgers were really good, their sauce was delicious and the fries were good too. So for a new spot adventure this was an ok experience. We went on a Saturday for lunch, on Sunday before heading back home my daughter wanted a burger and fries for the trip home, so we gave it another try. I ordered her the same burger, small fries, & a soft drink oh and for the drive I ordered their chips. As I was getting on the highway I ask to have a taste of the chips and the car was silent. My daughter asked what chips because there are no chips in the bag.

Wanted a good burger and heard this place was it for smash burgers. Has a drive thru and small outdoor area with tables to eat at. We wanted to use the drive thru but the line was long in both directions and turning left in has you kind of in the way of traffic. So we parked across the street and went up to the window. Service at the window seemed to run a little quicker than the drive thru line. The burger itself was filling, tasty, and juicy and the sweet potato tots were crispy and flavorful. Will definitely be back again when in the area to try the yummy looking shakes.

Decent burgers. Buns toasted. Secret sauce very good. Sweet potato tots just ok. Great iced teas. Everything super fresh and quick service.

Great idea for families! Nice park frontage, walking paths, etc. I'm going to have to tell my daughter in law to bring the kids here next time. They'd LOVE IT! The Goldie Burger was fantastic. They do have vegan options as well, so don't fret! Tots, fries and onion rings are excellent sides for your sandwich. The fella at the front counter was beyond pleasant, helpful, friendly and very attentive to every patron. Even went so far as to give extra free tokens to one family with 3 little ones since they spent so much there on their meals. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. It's kind of deceptive at the street, you'll see their name on the sign out front, but there's nothing telling you to drive BETWEEN Chipotle and the weed dispensary towards the back and beat to your right. RELISH is at the end, but there's TONS of parking and I appreciate that. Went inside and since I'd never been there before, I thought one of the women that were there would at least help me out, but the one young girl must've been on her way out the door because she was asking me if I was ordering chicken...I was confused. I said no, but then she asked me if I was picking up an order and I answered no to this as well...and then said I hadn't even ordered yet. Took me repeating this twice for her to understand me. I get it. It's small, lots of sizzling sounds and fryer sounds and then there's music playing ( I'm assuming) as well...all this makes it a little hard to hear. Finally placed my order. I got a double patty cheeseburger. Onion rings. And so the short wait began...one of the fellas at the grill asked me what I wanted on my burger...you choose exactly what sauces or lack thereof you want! Done right in front of you so you can ask for more or less...garlic aoli? Wow! Who knew? I'm missing BurgerFi less right about now! If you want grilled mushrooms or grilled onions or if you want them raw or bell peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, different cheeses, jalapeños, (bacon is extra though as is a fried egg), banana peppers, just like a subway! I'm a mayo and A1 lover with lots of pickles and one tomato...but decided to try it with the GRILLED onions. I'm getting that again! Absolutely fantastic and done EXACTLY the way I wanted it. I have to say that their pickles are superb because of the crunch factor. So many places will give you pickles and they're little scrawny floppy excuses for a pickle. Also, you go somewhere else and you get a double because their patties are so thin...NOT HERE! You get what you pay for. Tomato slices? Not paper thin like the other places...not barely there. Nice thick juicy slices! I have to mention their buns. I would be remiss if I passed by this topic and didn't touch on it. I don't know where they buy them from or if they make them, but they are absolutely superb. Soft and tender to the bite, but hold up so well and don't fall apart. I like that. Like a cornmeal dusting on top too. Old fashioned but so so good. Just not enough bun to burger ratio. Way too much burger -- and I never thought I'd ever say that! The fellas were so nice, cooked my food to perfection and I can't say I have not the slightest complaint about anything regarding this restaurant. Decent amount of food for the money compared to other places and the quality is definitely there. Worth every penny in my opinion. This place has just now moved into my favorite spot that was left vacated when they took away my BurgerFi. And if you haven't tried them...YOU ARE MISSING OUT!

There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.

One woman tried to cut the line, and another wanted to argue over a small booth that her family wouldn't have even fit in. Eventually, we were seated. I understand that holidays can be busy, so we were trying to be patient. Our waiter came over, dropped off menus, said "I'll be right back," and disappeared. After 25 minutes of waiting at the table, I had to flag down another waitress. Meanwhile, at least three tables that were seated after us already had drinks and had placed their food orders. I understand being busy, but at the very least, we should have been greeted or offered drinks. The waitress we flagged down said she would help us, which seemed promising at first, but then we waited another 20 minutes just for drinks. I'm not sure if it was an understaffing issue or something else, but the service was extremely poor. We considered leaving a one-star review, but the waitress did seem like she was trying. The food was okay, we ordered light items, and it still took quite a while to arrive. Overall, we would recommend skipping this place. So yeah, expectations were not exactly low. I pulled up and kept it simple. Cheeseburger, fries, large iced tea. No need to get cute when you're dealing with a place that's been doing one thing longer than most people have had careers. Let's start with the burger, because wow. This thing absolutely delivers. Cooked to order, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and hits that sweet spot where you take a bite and immediately understand why people won't shut up about it. Five out of five, no notes, no complaints. This is the kind of burger that makes you question every overpriced, overbuilt "gourmet" burger you've ever had. This is how it's supposed to be done. And then... the fries showed up. Hot? Yes. Fresh? Seemed like it. But somehow they pulled off the impressive trick of being both hot and soggy at the same time. It's like they skipped the part where fries are supposed to have texture. Total letdown, especially sitting next to a burger that's basically winning awards in my head. The iced tea did its job. No drama there. So here's where I land. The burger alone is worth the trip. It lives up to the legend, no exaggeration. But those fries dragged the whole experience down just enough to knock it to four stars. Mac's is this close to perfection. Fix the fries, and we're not even having a conversation. Right now, it's a legendary burger with a side of "what happened here?"
